Frank it is very early days still.I think you have been let out from hospital maybe a little too swiftly..Will you get a visit from a Disrtict Nurse at all? Just don't try and do anything too quickly,(we know what you are like LOL ) In other words don't try to run before you can walk :-D
I have had a lovely afternoon here with Fitz.He is getting himself in a bit of a tiz though about tomorrow morning and taking Podge to be put to sleep :-( I said that even though he knows what will happen ,Podge won't .Not that it makes things any easier.I did offer again to go with him ,but he said no he will be ok. A few wet eyes here earlier :-(......He is doing the right thing as Podge is a very sick cat and will only get worse. He has done his best and can do no more other than the 'kindest thing '
The wind here is so strong !!!!!.Pots blowing over !!.Also it is making the noise from the works going on over the other side of the A14 even noisier :-S.Fitz was shocked at the level of noise we are having to put up with. The thumping sound of some machinery can be felt in our tummies :-S :-S The house rumbles :-|

Afternoon All,
Yes, it is an up to date version of me David. I prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it these days, but hope I am still a bit 'bonny'. :-)
Well I was the same this morning with 2 washing loads to peg out Mel. No rain forecast, but it looked dodgy. Anyway, OH pegged it out early and it was soon dry with all the breeze and we fetched it in when we felt a few spots of rain later, but that came to nothing anyway. Two more loads to peg out tomorrow......where does it all come from when there's only 2 of you?
Mandy, that sounds like an ideal day to me and I would have my nose stuck in all the roses to find the scented ones! A nice meal too with no cooking to do later......perfect! :-)
Oh Frank you have had a rough time of it! Let's hope you soon feel better. Yes, best to wait for Ros before you try to walk, you don't want any setbacks. It sounds like rest and painkillers as well as the exercises are the order of the day for now. Each day is a day nearer to recovering.
Well after trying to find new specs for OH since last November, at last today we found some we both like at Nuneaton Specsavers! I say 'we both like' as I told him the last ones he got made him look cross when he looked at me, especially if he frowned, so he insisted this time on getting some I liked as well. He also got some nice sunglasses. They'll be ready in two weeks and he is now £350 lighter in the pocket!!! :-S
Jane I hope it wasn't too breezy for your lunch outside with Fitz. I suppose he is a bit down in the dumps at the prospect of the trip to the vet's tomorrow. Is there any chance there will be another cat do you think? I hope Millie had a good night and isn't tormenting your sister's other dogs too much.........she looks a lively one to me!

Managed to get to the toilet by myself this afternoon while Ros was at hospital. She then went on to try to get me a walking frame "BANGING YOUR HEAD ON THE WALL" comes to mind. She finally went back to the "THREE SHIRES"and got a voucher to get one from where we got my sticks. So he will do that tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about Fitz's cat Jane. What was it in the end to come to this decision ??
Ros had put a Beef casserole in the oven before she went out. While she was out a vase of dried flowers got blown over in the conservatory, and broke a lamp which blew a fuse , so wiped out the electric. So no dinner for a long time yet. not that i feel hungry.
Ros is going to try to get some help for me getting washed and dressed in the mornings. The poor girl can hardly manage herself without me. She's having to help me undress and wash me, then help with getting me dressed and settled in the chair. I'm hopping to get another erly night again tonight, as least will give her a few hours peace away from me,
I can't comment on the weather as I haven't really seen anything of it.
It's very difficult trying to type on my knees, so will say goodbye for now.

You're having a right old time of it lately aren't you Frank and now the incident with the electrics blowing. Hope things improve for you soon <3 Good idea to get some help in the mornings, it would help Ros as well as you.
Sorry to hear about Fitz cat Jane, even though he knows it's the right thing to do it still hurts. You're a good friend being there for him.
Sounds like a good idea to go to the Rose Garden Mandy it would of been a lot quieter with not so many people. Hope the weather stayed nice and you had a lovely time.
Yes I think my tiredness might be hormonal Ann, hopefully when I speak with the doctor she might put me on HRT which could help. I'm still going for the blood tests just incase it's something else.

Frank if you need a walking frame for a while JUST USE IT !!! Don't try and be a stubborn old b****r.If it helps you getting mobile then that is good :-D What is that expression Pride before a fall?? (something like that)
Fitz's cat has Diabetes which for for some reason is not being kept under control even with the insulin injections.Something else has to be going on in Podge. Fitz is paying out near £100 a month and there is no improvement (hence his reluctant decision) :-( :-(
Frank were you not assessed before being sent home. re walikng aids?

Morning friends, evening Kimmy,
Had a very bad night last night, I stayed up until almost midnight, thinking if I was tired and with my pain killers I would sleep through the night. Poor Rs was in and out of bed moving my leg in different positions. Finally I took more pain killers at 8.00 am and got comfortable, and slept till mid-day. I managed to get to te bathroom and have a stripped wash, and Ros helped me put my pants, shorts and T shirt on
The Physio knew I had had a stroke, and the sticks were difficult fot me to use, but she insisted they would be best. When Ros went back yesterday, the peron she saw was most surprised that she didn't give me a frame
I'm sorry, it seems to be all about me, I just can't concentrate to read the posts.
I am hoping to go out for a little ride out when Ros gets back, s save me going "STIR CRAZY"

I hope the pain subsides and you get some rest tonight Frank. Had weeks, no months of it so I can sympathise. Was often on morphine. Make sure you take sena cot or prunes as pain killers especially codeine cause constipation, nowt worse.

Afternoon All,
Sorry you had a bad night Frank, but at least you were able to grab some sleep this morning. A little ride out in the car will give you a change of scene and do you good. Have you received what I sent you in the post yet? It was in a cardboard tube. As long as we know how you are doing we don't expect you to keep up with the posts........it's too soon for that yet!
We have been to the fav carvery, but there was an old folks birthday do going on near us and one woman was so noisy and was talking at the top of her voice for ages about her brothers various illnesses!! Not what you want for a quiet meal together and read of the papers.
Now OH has gone to visit a friend and I am popping to M&S down the road soon. Bed was changed, washed and dried before we went out this morning, but OH went back to bed for a while with a migraine. He had cheese and biscuits last night and suspects that might be the cause!
Well, I'd better get going or the traffic will start to build up on the main road!!

Sorry to hear you had another bad night Frank.
Have you managed to get a frame now?????? You would be so much safer on one of those for getting about. Shame your not nearer to us as I still have mums here. Oh has used it a few times when his back has been bad and we now keep it in the bedroom.
Oh is mowing out the front and I am muddleing about in the garden as there's always something needs doing out there. I have just started to take my strawberry plants off the barrow as they have loads of runners on them and I need to cut those off to make the plants stronger.
Shame your lunch was not the quiet one you expected Ann. Funny how some people have such loud voices and can't keep their tone down whilst in public.

Good Afternoon All
Sorry to hear you are still having a bad time with your leg Frank, I hope you manage to get a trip out in the car with Ros and you have a better sleep tonight.
Jane I hope Fitz isn't feeling too bad about Podge it's so sad when you have to make that final decision but it comes to being the kindest thing to do.
I had the Sainsbury shopping delivered this morning as usual, so no more shopping for a week took Amy for her walk and apart from that have been rather lazy.I must water the garden soon.
We had the new cat visitor again this morning I have now identified him/her as a Himalayan cat, our 2 aren't impressed with him being in their territory.

Afternoon All
Have a friend calling in soon so will make this a quick one.
Frank. It probably is more difficult for you do get a decent night with sharing the bed with Ros.Good idea to stay in bed after Ros gets up and then get some good quality sleep for a few hours. Have you been out for your ride this afternoon?
Quiet and peaceful meal then Ann !!! NOT .
Anne ,poor Fitx was so choked when he called in after coming back from the Vets.He didn't come in but just dropped of Cat Litter and a toy for Thomas. He said he had to sit in the waiting room for 40 minutes before he took Podge through to be put to sleep. I think that is dreadful.Maybe there was an emergency or something but even so it must have been horrible for him.He said he kept trying not to look at Podge in his basket :-( :-(..But it is done now and I believe it is for the best.He was a really unwell puss.
I went to M&S this morning and parked in the big carpark behind the store. When I came out there were 4 Police cars,Rapid Response Car and an Ambulance.I was blocked in for a while as all the police cars had just pulled up anywhere.I am assuming there was a medical emergency but couldn't understand why there were so many police cars.
It's raining :-S
Must dash now.Hopefully BBL

Evening all,
Its been a nice day here ,plenty of black clouds about now though.
Frank i think it's a case of have the sleep when you can ,if your feeling comfortable then try and sleep be it day or night , thats what hubby used to do and BIL too . And keep the pain killers going in ,don't be tempted to think well its not so painful I'll wait a while for them ,by having them regularly you'll be keeping topped up .
We had a nice day out yesterday ,a very nice carvery and then on to Peter Beales, i bought two roses with the voucher i had for christmas , Graham Thomas a yellow rose and Happy Memories a pink one . My sister bought a pink one called John Mills and because they had an offer of buy three get one free she had the free one a Graham Thomas like mine.
Mel it is a nice cake ,i've never had a failure with it i'm glad you like it.
Oh Jane poor Fitz having to sit there all that time ,you would have thought they would have got him in sooner ,it's so hard losing a pet . How is the new puppy settling in ? What do thd other dogs think of her ?
Why do some people have to be so loud when they are out , i wouldn't want the world and his wife to know all my business, the carverys will be busy with the children on holiday Ann we noticed it yesterday but thankfully we didn't have any near us so we could chat in peace . So no more cheese for OH in the evening ,hope he feels better today.
I did my other flower arrangement for the surprise birthday party we're off to tomorrow night ,in pinks this time.

Oh Jane it sounds like there might have been an attack on someone if the police were there! :-0 Maybe something will be in the paper tomorrow.
That's awful making someone wait 40 minutes to have a pet put to sleep, unecessary stress for pet and owner. I'm not surprised Fitz was upset at losing Podge, it will be strange them having no cats now.
Anne I had a look at Himalayan cats and they do look very big like you said! No wonder your two don't like one on their territory! I must say I am beginning to like the idea of a supermarket delivery. Do you get long dates on perishables? I always imagine they try to bung in stuff with short dates. That's what puts me off a bit. It saves so much hassle not going yourself though.
I hope you are fixed up with a frame now Frank. It will be much safer than sticks for now till your knee heals and strengthens.
I managed to clean the ensuite today and tidy a few things away, but that's all! There's another load of washing ready to go out tomorrow.
OH had a shock when he got some new jeans the other day........he had to buy a bigger size!! :-0 He's a 38 inch waist now and was only a 32 inch waist when I met him.
Last episode of The Investigator tonight so it'll be interesting to see how it ends. I like these true story mysteries.

Ann re the on line shopping, I don't have any problems with perishables having a short use by dates with Sainsbury's, I had one thing today which I was having tomorrow anyway but this was highlighted and packed in a blue bag so you can hand it back to the driver if it's not wanted, the same if they give you an alternative. I pay £12.00 a year for the weekly deliveries but this doesn't include Fridays or any weekend delivery.
Jane that was dreadful for Fitz having to wait that long to say goodbye to Podge I think he should make a complaint to stop it happening to some other pet owner. Our vets are very good and never keep you that long for any appointment and if it comes to the worse outcome they let you pay their bill another day plus they send out sympathy cards written by the vet that you saw.

Morning all,
Dry today here with some sunshine now and then but the skies are grey too.
Hope Frank had a better nights sleep last night.
That was an awful long wait for Fitz and Podge yesterday Jane. You would have thought someone could have got Fitz to sign the form and taken Podge from him. I expect he wanted to be with his old friend to the end though. Love and wishes to Fitz and his wife on their loss.
Just as I got up this morning a Range Rover drove round the back. I am not used to seeing people out there so lay down again quickly. We don't fraw the curtains being out in the middle of knowhere. I lay and listened to it pass by before rising slowly to see if it had gone. They are thining some of the bottom branches off the trees in place out the back so I expect they were looking to see where to do it next.
Another week gone..........they seem to be passing so quickly. No sooner is it Gardeners World night than it comes around again!! AND we are nearly a week through August already. I really don't know where this year has gone. Still it will soon be Christmas. :-D :-D :-D

I keep meaning to tell you I had my first runner bean on Tuesday.......just the one...
There are plenty more coming though now. My tower of beans is really doing well but a daily task to wind the shoots round the right way. I have another lot growing up the usual wigwam but they were planted first and don't have as many flowers on them than the tower but the bean I ate came from the wigwam.
The tower is nearly higher now than I can reach comfortabley so I shall have to get the steps out.
