Morning all,
Hope you are all having the same weather as we are. Its nice andsunny with a good breeze.
Must remember to take my ice packs with me today as I forgot them last week so I could'nt get any HOCKINGS ICECREAM to bring home. Think I will splash out this week and get a bigger one.
Hope you all had a better nights sleep last night and Frank's pain has eased a bit.

Afternoon all, I have just lost a big posting again so will try again.
Bad night here, what with my knee and cramp in my left thigh. Was in bed by 11.00 but had to have more medication at 1.30 No matter how I laid the throbbing just wouldn't go away. I laid until 4.30 am then the next time I looked at the clock it was 6.45 am, so I had a couple of hours.
Poor old Ros is running around for me, getting this that and the other. She's done a load of washing got it on the line, and done a basket full of ironing.
She is still hoovering JJs hair up in the lounge, and now Fluffy has started rubbing herself along the rugs and carpets.
Have tried to do exercise's this morning, but without much success , too much discomfort. The bruise at the top of my thigh is PURPLE and hurting like buggery. !!!
A chap in the village dropped DEAD outside the pub yesterday, he might have been late sixties.
Lewis rang this morning from France to see how I am. It's very hot where they are 35/40 degrees.
Ros is now cleaning the windows. She mowed the lawns yesterday, and has cleaned the bins this morning. I feel so guilty not being able to do anything. :-| :-| :-|

Mel are you trying to make me jealous Big TUB of Hockings Ice Cream ! :-P
Ann,I hope you managed to stay awake when you met up eoth your friends this morning. That was a bad night last night for you. Not sure I fancy cold baked beans :-S
Frank if you are not able to do your exercises properly because of the pain and discomfort maybe you need to get in touch with the Doctor or Physio people and see if there is something else that can be done for you so you can do your excercises .Because if you can't do them then the healing process will likely be longerand you don't need the knee seizing up.
Does Fluffy Moult? Thomas is leaving great clumps of black fur everywhere at the moment :-S.I do give him a good brush but it doesn't seem to make much difference.
That is very sad about the man who died outside the pub. What a terrible shock for his family :-(.Had he been visiting the pub beforehand? It must have been Heart Attack or something similar.
Is anyone else having trouble with al these tiny spindly spiders and their webs?.I must have got about 20 or more with the cobweb brush just now. They just seem to multiply over night :-S :-S.My Cobweb brush needs replacing but I haven't been able to find one .So will have to have a look on line or maybe Lakelands.I did get a new Mop today.Hopefully it will be better than my last one.
Just spilled a can of coke all over my big colouring book :-S :-S..What a mess. Several pages ruined.I was going to start some ironing but see it has gone 5 o clock so that will wait now.If James needs a shirt for tomorrow he can iron one.
There are some big clouds looming so we may get a bit of rain .Better get the washing in I think !!! Thomas is out on the range. He has been back a couple of times through the day but not for long.Next time he arrives it will be in for the night then.He will have to get used to going to bed early again :-)

Afternoon All,
Sorry you are having a rough time of it Frank. Might ice packs help with the pain as they reduce the swelling or are you already doing that?
I wouldn't like it that hot where Lewis and his family are staying. I remember staying in the Dordogne area in the 80s and it was boiling hot and the heat stopped the car speedo working. We were in our caravan, sited next to a river and kept wading in up to our knees to let the fast flowing water cool us down. I'd been bothered about the prospect of insects getting in at night so had made mesh covers for all the windows and doorway that were held on with velchro. They were a boon as we could sleep with all the windows open 90 degrees and no insects got in and we slept well. At night time the size of some of the insects buzzing around the lights on the site had to be seen to be believed!!
I slept much better last night, once I got off!! At least I don't keep waking once I'm asleep these days. I don't drink anyway as you say Mel, but I was told to be careful about alcohol with my medication.
Today I met up with 3 beading friends and then a bit later we all set off to see the garden of another friend of the lady whose house we'd met at. We all followed her in our cars in convoy and I was at the back. All was well till we reached a busy main road and then we got split up between other traffic as each of us pulled out. Me at the back ended up about 8 cars behind them all, but I tried to look out for one of the cars in our group which was bright red. Well I lost them completely, but thought I could put my foot down when we reached the dual carriageway and overtake a few to catch up. Well, my car shot forwards and I was overtaking merrily when all of a sudden I saw the 'convoy' parked neatly in a layby on my left, but there were no spaces between the cars I was overtaking for me to pull over so I had to carry on!! The trouble is, only one of us knew where to go, so I had to then drop speed and let people overtake me while they all caught up and my friend got back in the lead again. She told me later she'd seen 'THE SPIV' flash by!! lol. (it's the name she calls my car!). Luckily we got there without any more mishaps. The huge long garden was fabulous (as was the bit of the house we saw!). They have several open days a year to collect for the Air Ambulance and it is set up like a small garden centre at the bottom with plants for sale. Winding grass paths with shrubs, trees and borders crammed with many perennials I have never seen before. It was a picture! The lady who lives there and is 75 though you'd never believe it, said she spends an hour and a half dead heading the flowers every day and she still works at least some hours. We all felt it put us to shame!! We then had a slice of homemade victoria sponge and a natter and had an invite to come again when we like, so I might take OH along some time, as he would love it there.
Jane OH pulls faces when I have cold baked beans but I don't mind them cold.......it was all I could find that I fancied at the time! Yes, tons of those spindly legged spiders here too.......I must get the long poled duster thing out!

VROOM VROOM Ann :-D LOL I can just picture your friends waiting for you t ocatch up and seeing you whizz past !!! :-D :-D..I hate having to follow people as you have to concentrate so hard on not losing them it kind of takes your attention away from 'driving'..Glad you had a nice day :-D
Phew Frank .That is hot where Lewis is in France.Where abouts is he?I too remember like Ann how hot is is in the Dordogne .We had several holidays there when the children were younger and I was always the one who just found it hard to cope with the heat. I remember one year Janice ,Larry and Matthew came with us and we were with Eurocamp Holidays.Larry had a Galaxy (car) with AIR CON,and I would often just go and sit in it at the camp site with the engine on so I coud cool off.Air Con then was not the norm in many cars so it was a bit of luxury ..Talking of Air Con in cars.I think mine might need regassing as I am sure it is not right.
One of my friends down the road has just brought us a couple of her cucumbers. Well timed as ours have just about come to the end.She was then taking others to another neighbour. At least I don't have to go and buy one now :-D
Chris is out with the hosepipe .Thank heavens we don't get any hosepipe bans any more :-D

Sorry to hear you're still in a lot of pain Frank. I would get in touch with your doc to see if there is anything he can give you thats stronger. I am sure Ros dos'nt mind doing things while you are still in pain and not able to do the cooking etc. Did you get my card today??
Having never been abroard I cannot comment on the heat but when I had the pet shop it was in a greenhouse and sometimes it got up to 100 degrees or more so I got used to the heat. Mum could never stand the heat though. Thats the good thing about this bungalow it faces north and always stays quite cool if we keep all the windows and doors shut.
I too hate having to follow cars. I had to follow my hubby all the way down here when we moved down. At least he was in a pale blue van and kept his eye out to make sure I was'nt too far behind. I would never have got down here on my own.
It sounds like you had a nice day out with your friends though Ann and the garden was well worth the effort. I am sure Gordon will love to see it too.
Did the weekly donkey run and got home quite early. Went out and did a bit of gardening. When I drove throughthe arch into the garden I startled the deer which ran across the lawn to the orchard. There it stayed and was eating some of the windfall apples that had been chopped up by the mower and then it lay down in the orchard and stayed there quite a while till it moved to lay on the grass by the top arch. It is now as I type walking along the grass and its just stopped by my day lillies and is eating the flowers.

Evening all,
Been quite hot here again and i hear we could be even hotter next week. We weren't in the hospital too long yesterday ,they just asked hubby if any meds had changed which they hadn't, checked he had signed the consent form and that was it .
Yes Frank try your best to do the exercises if you can as you will have limited movement in the knee if you don't . Ros is very good mowing the lawn but you'll soon be back pushing the mower .
I haven't noticed any tiny spiders here but we have had lots of flyng ants , when i walked Max the grass in the churchyard was alive with them.
LOL Ann sounds a bit like the Wacky Races ,you overtake them they overtake you LOL It is hard to keep track of cars when there is several of you and you get cars inbetween getting in the way, at least you got there in the end and the garden sounds lovely .
Son and DIL had a trip to A&E today with Lewis , he was playing in the garden and i think they had the paddling pool out which is was why he had bare feet, well Lewis came up the garden carrying a brick which he then dropped on his foot !!! He cried for a while as you can imagine but after that he seemed fine ,but his toes looked bruised and he had a blood blister come up under his toe and his nail is now coming off his toe so today they decided they would take him to see the doctor and he sent them up to the hospital , turns out he has fractured a toe bless him.

Oh dear poor little Lewis. He will be more careful next time with a brick LOL. It must have been painful bless him .They don't do anything for a broken toe do they? Sometimes strap it to the next one.I think A&E trips might be a regular trip for him Mandy !!!!. James was the one here with many A&E visits. The hours I have sat in the waiting room!!!!!! Mind you Hannah had her fair share too.James had a phobia about hosptial and if I wasn't quick enough to get him out of the car he would lock himself in it :-| :-| :-| :-|.Not easy when he got to being a big strapping lad.
I wonder why we have all these spiders.I have never had it as bad as this. They are the ones with teeny weeny bodies but long straggly legs and they just hang in the webs.I never see them crawling anywhere. It's driving me crazy.I am now obsessed with them :-S :-S
I managed to grab Thomas just after he ate a mouse and he was ready for the off again. Now he is YOWLING the house down to go out.He is like something demented :-S.But I am not letting him go again tonight. Roll on darker nights and no Bunnies.

No they don't do any thing to the toe ,hubby did say i wonder if they will strap two toes together. Son said he got a bit worried as he heard two doctors talking about Lewis xray ,one said it looked liked a crush injury and if it was then they might have to amputate the toe!! thank goodness it wasn't.
I had one trip to A&E with Chris ,he got knocked down by a car in town and one of his friends rang me so we shot up in the car and he was just being loaded up into the ambulance i got in with him and we had blue lights all the way there, luckily he only had cuncusion and was allowed home the next day .
Raining here .

Oh no wonder little Lewis was upset after dropping the brick on his toe Mandy it must have been so painful.
Mel the deer seems to have made itself at home on your land, we do have them over the forest but only see them away from the most popular walks, we have walked as far as the edge of the Sandhurst firing ranges but that was a long while ago now.
Frank sorry you are still in such pain, I also think a word with the doctor is a good idea.
It's been hot here again but the breeze has helped cool it down, according to the forecast it will be back to being very hot again next week.
So Thomas is under curfew again then Jane, at least it gives you peace of mind when he is indoors.
Blue eyes has been around again today going into the conservatory again and popping his head through to the sitting room when I was watching Judge Rinder. He is very vocal whenever he is spoken to.
We had chicken kievs with dwarf beans, broccoli and new potatoes tonight. ,

Yes it was vroom vroom one minute Jane and the next I was crawling along and it looked just like that Mandy. Cars seemed very wary and reluctant to overtake me when I slowed down, but I suppose they might have thought I'd slowed down because I'd spotted a speed trap!! lol. :-)
Poor Lewis had really hurt his toe then Mandy. It must have been very painful for him and a heavy brick to do that! I hope he leaves the bricks alone now. It's good your hubby is all set again now for his operation. Hopefully this time there won't be any more delays for him. Max is lucky he didn't get his nose covered in those ants! OH said we have a lot in the greenhouse so I'd better spray in there tomorrow.
Those are just the same spiders we have Jane and they do such a wobbly walk across the ceiling at night you think they will fall any moment!!
You must have lots of tasty morsels for the deer in your garden Mel.I never realised they liked so many garden plants till you told us before some of the things they were eating. They seem to be visiting you more often these days too.
Anne, the cat seems to have passed you as alright and is getting quite confident round your place.
OH has just stuck his nose through the door and said, 'do you remember when we would say years ago that something was 'with it'. I'd forgotten that.

I still say 'With it' Ann !!!! I get some rolling of eyes from Hannah and James . I can't see anything wrong with that expression :-D. I am so out of touch with sayings today. I know SICK is used for describing something !!!(and something that is nice :-S :-S )
Anne you will have to name Blue Eyes Frank :-D (Frank Sinatra :-D) assuming it is a boy.He obviously loves coming to your house. He seems to be a daily visitor now :-D :-D
Thomas has finally given up hollering to go out and has fallen asleep :-D :-D.Hopefully he has worn himself out.I daren't think how many mice he eats every day.But surely the Mouse population must be diminishing now LOL
I am enjoying the ladies Gymnastics now ,but feel I am ready for my bed and have a new book to start on my Kindle :-) The sky is very clear here tonight and it feels quite fresh.
See you all tomorrow.

Wind was really chilly here tonight when I did the hogs and chickens.
Jane I get LOADS of those spindley spiders. I had 10 in my little loo the other day and they all went up the hoover. Next day I had another three but there are pipes coming down from the loft and I think they may come through there???? I get them in all the rooms and the hall. They seem to have spinderling teenagers and really big ones. If you startle one it shakes in its web as if you have gone Bonge to it!!
Night night all.

Just you and me then so far today Mel I have a good going over the ceilings with the brush and got about another 15 !!!.That is just in the lounge :-S :-S..Have just ordered a new Cobweb brush from Lakeland. It's a Goats Hair one. Then I got the mop and bucket and have given the garage door and all the fascia cleaned at the front. Some of the muck hasn't come off and will need a scrub, but my hands have stiffened up so that will be for another day. Picked my first lot of Runners ,more French and Dwarf French Beans....Guess what veg is for dinner :-D :-D
Chris bought a bottle of Pernod this morning. So we are just having a glass :-D.it has been ages since I had one of those and it is lovely.Always reminds me of our holidays in France.
I had a bit of a panic just now as I am keeping an eye on my neighbours house from tomorrow for a few days and I couldn't find the keys !!!!.I have had a set for years . Chris had put them in a different place :-| :-|
I have just spotted another web and teeny spider !!!!!!. I wonder if Mel and I get more than anyone else because we are surrounded by fields and so many trees etc.
Mel can you freeze egg? (not in the shell but in the liquid form) Janice was telling me the other day of how she has an egg done in the microwave. A little bit of butter in the bottom of a mug or big cup.Melt the butter for a few seconds, then crack an egg in and snip the skin on the yolk.Cook for maybe a minute or a bit less if you like soft yolk and then tip it out on a nice bit of toast :-)..I keep meaning to try it.
Sun is trying to come out now :-D

You must break the skin on the yolk as in the micro it will burst otherwise and make a terrible mess.
I like my boiled eggs. Sometimes I have scrambled on toast for breakfast and we did have an omlet each the other night which uses a few up at a time as oh has a 4 egg one and I have a two egg one.
Have just rung my neighbour to see if she needed any eggs but she must be out with the boys as the answer phone was on. Hate those things.
Well I think it may have stopped raining so the washing is going out now so see you later. :-D

Turned out to be quite a nice day ,we sat out this afternoon and had the brolly up as the sun was so warm.
Jane i saw them cook eggs in a cup like that on Eat Well for Less ,i think she beat the eggs first before pouring it into the ramikins and then she added some grated cheese on top before putting them in the micro, they looked nice when they came out .
Not lot done here today we nipped to Makro to stock up with bits ,called at sons for a coffee and dropped some bits off that we usually buy for them by the time we got home it was lunch time.

Afternoon to you all, I have read a few posts Those spiders are everywhere around the bungalow. Ros is forever sucking them up the Dyson. We are also getting those big black ones that you can "PUT A SADDLE ON"
Fluffy has a good old roll around the carpets, and leaves fur everywhere. She is still finding JJs hair on the bottom of the chairs and sofa.
The chap ,that passed away had only come out of the shop, crossed the road to the bus stop by the pub, and down he went. Carolyn rang earlier to say another person had passed away today.
I am seeing the Physio tomorrow at 4.00. pm. So will explain how my LEGS are.
I am able to get up and down the lounge, but my stroke leg doesn't see to want to move as well as my other. I have been given a ice bag, that sits in the fridge and wraps round by knee 3 /4 times a day. Which helps a bit with the pain.
Still not wanting to eat. I had a piece of B & B with Marmalaide for breakfast and nothing since. Ros is cooking a small shoulder of lamb tonight, with veg, I bet I will only pick over it. I spent almost TWO HOURS sat on the toilet this morning. Finally did "BIG JOBS" ( who remembers that expression ??? Drunk over a GALLON of water again, so I am weeing a lot. !!!
Thanks for your card Mel, it arrived this morning. Off to put my knee up on the stool to keep it straight.
See you all tomorrow. God Bless <3 <3 <3 <3
