At least you know it all went well today :-D.OH will hopefully have a good 'druggy' sleep tonight.

Just going out to do my big whistle and call for Thomas......I feel ready for bed.I bet he will be difficult tonight as it looks it might be a full moon (or very close to being one)

We were up at 6.45 (!) as we were both awake and it was such a lovely morning! Had breakfast and got on with our early morning jobs. Went shopping at 8.30 and were able to park in Malmesbury without any problems. OH went.to the chemist while I went to the hard wear shop for a few bits and bob's. After that we went to Waitrose and did a big shop! Home now, all put away and having a cuppa outside in the sun, Nearly time for bed again!!!
Jane, I've been thinking about your sister and hoping things are ok. At least she should be able to spend a penny by now!
I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver a parcel, so we won't be going far today till it comes, lucky it's a fine day!

So pleased Colin seems to be getting on well. Do you know how long he has to stay in for Mandy? Bet you'll be glad when he's home and you can fuss over him.

Clouded over a bit here and oh just said if there's anything I want to do outside so it now because it is going to rain. Will just water the beans so they can take advantage of the rain.

My 6 tom plants are a complete disaster as they all have blyte (sp) so I shall have to cut them all down and burn them.

We've had a busy day too Mel!! After our early start; doing the shopping, I did one load of washing, all dried and put away, have frozen a load of tomatoes, and corgette, watered the garden, picked sweet peas for the house, helped OH with the electric fencing in the field so as Merlin can be stripped grazed. Cas also helped!!!!! OH is now making a curry for supper from the remains of the chicken while I'm sitting outside with a glass of wine!! Oh, my parcel came from Amazon, and I only ordered it yesterday! No housework though, I shall do that when the weather breaks!

Afternoon Everyone.
Sorry to hear you are still in a lot of pain Frank and having bad nights. You are going through the mill aren't you :-(...It will get better <3

Colin sounds like he doing really well Mandy. They do say that hips are much easier than Knees. I expect they will have had him up and moving already .

My Sisters scan on her bladder was all clear. But she has to go back to the GP in the morning for another referral to have the Bowel investigated :-(I can see things going on for some time with her.I really hope they can get to the root of the problem very soon so something can be done for her.Poor girl has had enough to deal with this year already.

What a shame about your Tomatoes Mel.You could have some of ours if we were nearer. We will have them coming out of our ears soon. Some of ours are very tiny though.

My new Cobweb Brush and Radiator Brush arrived today. Both are of Goat Hair and are brilliant :-D..You should see what I managed to get out from behind some of the radiators !!!!.Years worth of webs and filth.Clouds of dust too each time I pulled the brush out.

My neighbour came round with a nice bottle of wine for me this afternoon for watering her plants and keeping an eye on the place while they were away.So that is chilling nicely in the fridge :-D

It is still too hot to faf about with too much cooking,so it is Spag Bol for Chris and me tonight.I have done the Bol and just need to do the Spag later. James has Burgers (which needed using),Mushrooms and Garlic Bread.I might do some Asparagus too for him.

I have caught up on a programme today.'Without You'.I thought it was really good and don't know how I missed it on TV.Then this afternoon I have watched An Hour to save a Life.Wow what a programme that is!!!.

Must get James's Burgers and Mushrooms in the oven. I always call Burgers Bug***s
Must stop doing that.

Well Jane, that is a relief that the bladder scan was clear. I too hope that they run the problem to earth pretty smartly and can treat her.
We've just got the curry and rice for our supper and I'm not cooking!! It's lovely sitting outside and still quite warm. This afternoon I did get a couple of hours sitting out in the sun! I went to sleep! It was lovely!!!

Evening all

Lovely sunny evening here ,Max has just had his walk.

Colin is doing well ,they got him to sit out on the side of the bed for a few minutes this
afternoon he still has his catheter and the line in his back giving him the pain relief ,once they are out then they will get him on his feet but he must not put his full weight on the new hip for at least 8 to 10 weeks so he will have to use the crutches .
This post is going funny so i had better submit it before it goes.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 17 Aug 2016 19:54

Well it seems be ok now so I'll carry on, they think Colin might be home by the weekend but they have to get him on his feet first ,he is now going to have liquid morphine for the pain.

I'm sorry to hear you still have pain Frank ,i hope the pulling about by the physio tomorrow isn't to painful for you.

So it's good news on the scan your sister had Jane but not so good that they still don't know why she's in pain , i hope they can find out whats causing it .

Better get my watering done now .

Anne Report 17 Aug 2016 20:57

Pleased to hear that Colin is doing well Mandy, has Max missed him?

Sorry to hear you are still having pain and not much sleep Frank are there stronger
pain killers you can take?

Jane it's a relief for your sister that her scan was clear, could it be gall stones or have they already checked her for that ?

I didn't do much cooking today either just chilli con carne and rice with lemon meringue pie for pudding.

Mel you have been busy with the housework, I have done some packing for next week ,also washed all Amy's bedding a job I normally do at weekends, I have arranged for Waitrose to deliver some shopping to the cottage once we are there, we always have a large cooked breakfast which Paul does. Our other meals we have out unless we have a takeaway delivered but I have ordered some barbecue type food as well, so hopefully the weather will allow it, although we don't want it too hot as Amy is not keen on the heat..

Evening All,

That's a shame you aren't getting much sleep Frank and are in pain. I suppose it's tricky when you have to try and exercise something that is painful and healing. Hopefully as it heals more you will find things improve.

Your sister must be glad about the scan results Jane, but also wishing they'd found the problem. I hope she isn't in too much pain while she's waiting.

Things sound good with your hubby Mandy and he will be glad to have got rid of the drains. Something for him to look forward to if they let him out by the weekend.

You're showing me up Mel with all this HW activity! I have a list of jobs as long as my arm to do! I must make a start tomorrow.

Anne, I hope you get some good weather for your break. It is a good idea getting food delivered to where you will be staying and saves time too.

Last night OH had a dream that he had a row with the opticians where we collected his new specs from today. Well it was almost a premonition as he had to have words with them this morning. :-0 He wasn't best pleased while we were waiting and seeing several people that came after us were being called through!! All of a sudden up he got and strode over to one of their staff. It turned out that they were still looking for them!! This annoyed him more as they hadn't let him know there was a problem, so he demanded to know whether they actually had them yet as they had insisted he didn't need to ring them to check they were in. The girl said yes they did have them but said again they were looking for them. He then went into 'manager mode' and asked 'didn't they have a system then' and they girl said 'yes' but they couldn't find them at the moment and would he like to go and do other shopping while they looked for them!! This wasn't the best thing to say to him and he said no, as he didn't want to get a parking ticket!! In the end, it turned out that someone had misfiled them under 'W'. If they had told him the problem in the first place instead of leaving him just sitting there it would have been better. Both pairs fitted perfectly though so he's really pleased with them and he was smiling and shook the lady warmly by the hand as we left!! Now he has more modern new glasses he is talking about a 'hipster' beard to go with them. lol. They've really caught on here and lots of the young men have grown them!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Aug 2016 22:01

A "hipster" beard!! will that suit Gordon do you think?

We had curly sausages like catherine wheels with piles of mash and our own beans tonight and they were lovely............................mmmmmmmmmmmmmm you just can't beat home grown runners.

Oh had to finish my sausage as I could'nt eat it all I was so full of beans.

Did'nt mean to post that as I wanted to say that Colin sounds like he is doing really well. I hope he can get off the catheter and can get a bit more mobile. My BIL has had both his hips done now and is like a new man.
