Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Sep 2016 09:02

Morning Anne and all,

Thanks for the wishes Anne.

Not a bad morning with bright spells but the skies a bit grey at the moment.

Thumbs are stiff this morning so I hope my hips will be ok as you have to go up a lot of stairs. I did'nt take my jointace yesterday as I forgot. I swear it makes a difference.

Frank Report 9 Sep 2016 11:03

Good morning my dear friends, Evening Kim,

So Jane went off yesterday, and I missed her.

Jonathan our old neighbour has had my laptop for two days, trying to sort out the Ebay, Email etc. Will try it later.

Was at the Physio yesterday. She is very pleased with me and I should only need one more visit in two weeks time. I have been given a couple more exercises to do in the mean time.

Pleased that Colin is progressing Mandy. he will be back to normal in the near future.

Ros is in two minds whether to continue with Choir Practice. She really didn't want to go last night, but went anyway. We will see what happens next week. ??

Very windy here this morning, but still muggy indoors.

Still not sleeping through the night, where ever I put my leg, the knee wakes me up. I think I got up 5 times during the night.

Ros is off to the Hairdressers for 1.00 pm, wash, cut and roots, so I will have a new woman later.
;-) ;-) ;-)

Hope you all enjoy your day whatever you might be doing.

Afternoon all,

Phew hot again here and still windy ,got Max's bedding washed and dried in no time

Hope you get on ok at the dentist Mel and can manage the stairs , how many more times do you have to go before you get your new teeth ?

Glad your geting on better now Frank and that the physio was pleased with you ,it will take time for the sweling and pain to ease up ,i know BIL was putting cold compress on his knee for several months after the op to help the swelling.
We thought of you at lunch time as we had a lovely dressed crab from the market , it was really full of meat and was only £4 , i told Colin i would tease you about it ;-) :-D

I have just made some sweet red pepper jelly as i bought a nice piece of Gammon for the weekend and it will go with that a treat.

Hope you managed to get a better nights sleep last night Ann , sounds as if you need some ear plugs with all the noise from the building site next door.

Back been shopping in Lidl and come home and had a cuppa after unloading spoils.

Got on well at the dentist today I hope anyway. It was a wax set with the teeth I shall have on the new set. They seem to meet a treat on these and I can't get my tongue inbetween them like both sets of the last lot and the teeth are not in my mouth on the upper which they were on the other new set. I am keeping my fingers crossed once they are in the plastic stuff they will be the same. He did say if I can't keep the top set up I can have a clip on my back tooth but I don't want that if I can help it as that tooth is a bit loose anyway and it has a massive filling in it I had done in my 20's.

I told oh about your crab Mandy and he is jealous too. I can't stand it so I am not worried one way or the other. I told oh you're in Norfolk and he said that was crab country.

MillymollyAmanda Report 9 Sep 2016 18:23

Yes it does Mel very "oldie worldi " it sounds as if the beds are just as old too LOL
I wonder if they will resort to the old" map " as the satnav has give up , i can just see Jane with a map trying to give Chris directions :-0 :-D

Yes Mel you carn't bet a nice Cromer Crab ,we had that at lunch time and don't want much to eat now it was very filling .
Sounds as if your new dentist is really making sure your new teeth will be a nice fit for you.

Really clouded up here now .

Anne Report 9 Sep 2016 19:39

I didn't realise Jane was taking a detour before going on to Wales, the hotel looks very grand it was a pity about the noisy bedhead. I hope she has a nice meal with Janice.

Mandy pleased to hear your OH is now able to go upstairs he seems to be doing very well. How is young Max doing these days?

Mel it seems like changing to another dentist was a good decision lets hope your new set of teeth are ready soon and are a comfortable fit.
.
Frank good news that the physio thinks the exercises are helping your leg.
I hope you have a good night's sleep tonight, I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep right through the night as I have to pop to the loo at least once but it's mostly twice but I do get back to sleep again most of the time.

Ann I also hope you sleep better tonight with no outside disturbances.

Morning all,

Grey sky here but we have had a little watery sun this morning.

Nice picture of the hand pulled ferry from Jnae this morning. That one has been on the telly in one of the program with Ruth Goodman, Peter Ginn and Alex Langland.

Got up late and now I am behind my daily challenges :-(

Had roast pork and cauli cheese with short beans for dinner last night and it went through me quite quckly!! Must do some spuds with it next time and not have so much of the cauli cheese.

Morning all, Evening Kim,

WET WET WET here. and no sign of it getting any better.

Tony next door hasn't been in once since my operation to see how I am. I want to go to the pub at lunchtime to see the Manchester Derby, but don't like to ring him. !!! If I can't walk down, I will have it on the radio.

It would be so nice to get rid of this constipation Having to wait 2/3 days is no joke, even with the stuff I got from the doctors.

The computer isn't right. The cursor keeps jumping back into previous typing.

Trust you are all well. I will be back later.

Anne

Anne Report 10 Sep 2016 11:37

Good Morning all

It's a wet morning here as well, so no walk for Amy or grass cutting which Richard was going to do today but I have cleaned the bathroom and downstairs cloakroom and the washing machine is on for the 3rd time, this time washing Amy's upstairs blankets.

Frank I expect your constipation is caused by the painkillers, I had the same problem after being prescribed Zapain by the doctor. I'm sure Tony wouldn't mind giving you a lift to the pub especially as you are such a good neighbour to him.

I hope the weather is better where Jane is and she had a better nights sleep

Annx

Annx Report 10 Sep 2016 13:40

Afternoon All,

Jane's hotel looks a lovely place and is an Elizabethan Manor. Not a place for frisky nights though with all that creaking and squeaking!! I wonder if they went on that hand pulled ferry.

It's pouring with rain here now so I shan't be putting the little violas in the wall pots now. OH has gone to a match at Alcester near Stratford. He was muttering about roadworks near Coventry so I told him he'd best not go then......his face was a picture!! lol. He'd asked me earlier if I wanted him to stay with me as I still have a bad throat and not much voice in the mornings, but I don't feel too bad in myself. I didn't sleep till after 4.00am this morning, but lay in to catch up a bit. I need to get a card for our anniversary on the 18th so might pop out once this rain eases.

Did anyone else watch Joanna Lumley in Japan last night? We found it to be very good and interesting. There will be 3 more episodes I think.

Frank, why not get some of those ready to eat prunes you can get from supermarket? I have them from Sainsbury's and they taste completely different and much nicer than tinned ones. I don't need them as laxative, but have them for their other health benefits and have a couple most mornings. You can get them with the stones removed now as well. They might be worth a try. I would ring Tony too, you have been such a good neighbour to him. He's just a thoughtless man and it probably just hasn't occurred to him.

Mel, I only eat maybe a couple of walnut sized potatoes a week and a jacket pot less than once a week. My plate is filled with mostly all veg and a bit of turkey 3-4 days a week and I don't have any problems. Fatty food can have that effect on me though, so maybe it was the cheese in the sauce if it was full fat and you had a lot of the cauliflower cheese. It does sound like you are getting somewhere at last with your teeth. Fingers crossed these will be good and all the problems you've had will be over.

MillymollyAmanda Report 10 Sep 2016 14:15

Afternoon all,
Wet here too it's been raining since about nine o'clock, just when you think it's brightening up if rains even harder.

Yes Ann we enjoyed Joanna in Japan last night she's very good , we watched the ones of her following the Nile and i think she also did a Greek programme too.

I have stripped the single bed that Colin has had downstairs so thats ready for son to take back up stairs tomorrow .
I have given the lounge a good going through bit of a job with the bed in there but i managed .

Anne i haven't taken Max for his walk this morning either it has been to wet and he likes to go on the grass and he gets soaking wet then, he's getting really big now and must weigh a blooming ton , he still tries to get on my lap , when i sit on the sofa he sits beside me and then he tries to creep across my lap but his little elbows don't half dig into my legs !!

Frank i would have asked your neighbour if he's going to the pub , he's one of these i'm all right jack ,and doesn't think about anyone else ,you only have to see how he treats his wife , you know what they say ....don't ask don't get , and you have done lots for him in the past.

I think the rain has eased up now ,how long for remains to be seen and by the look of the sky we'll be in for some more before long.

Iv'e been out in the garden cutting down things on the patio like the clematis and my purple podded peas in their pot and I have cut all the dead heads off the other two clematis then oh appeared after a long 40 winks and I had'nt had a cuppa after lunch so I made us that and sat here and read the posts.

Frank I really don't know why you don't mention to Tony if he is going you would'nt mind a lift. I am sure he just dos'nt think of asking as he seems a very self centered person.

Its been cloudy then brighter and cloudy and then brighter today. I did'nt turn the wshing machine on incase it made it rain!! It has'nt rained so I could have put washing on the line. Too late now.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 10 Sep 2016 18:36

Max had his walk when the rain eased up ,not at all cold out and i felt quite hot with my jacket on but as we walked home the rain started coming down heavy again so i was glad i put it on.

Not much on the tele tonight so we'll watch some thing we've recorded.

Mel, i cut my purple podded peas down and i saved some pods for next year.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Sep 2016 21:56

I have kept loads this year.

Morning all,

Its a bright sunny day here with swirly wispy white cloud high up. It looks like someone has painted it.

Just having a COT and then I must let the girls out and also put the washing machine on.

May change the bed.

Had a right old to do here yesterday evening! Poor Cas got stung in her mouth by a wasp!! It was in her bed (not her cage). She was having a snooze and it must have got into her blanket, We think she must have heard it buzzing and snuffled round and the next thing we knew she came running out with her face swollen up like a football!! We had to take her into the emergency vet, who gave her an antihistamine jab and some pills! She's much better this morning but a bit subdued!! We were worried in case her throat swelled up, so it was action stations! OH drove a bit like the devil, but luckily the traffic wasn't too bad. Who says life's dull in the country!!
Nice morning here, so doing some washing and having a quiet day!

Anne

Anne Report 11 Sep 2016 10:55

Poor Cas Liz and what a worry for you, I'm pleased to hear she's o.k. now, it was fortunate you were there at the time to get her to the vet.

I'm not doing too much today either, Paul and both the girls are due later for Sunday dinner, it's roast lamb with all the usual veg and Yorkshire puddings. I have already prepared the veg and the meat is in a very low oven.

Max sounds a really affectionate boy Mandy enjoying a cuddle, they do grow so quickly at that age.

Frank

Frank Report 11 Sep 2016 11:03

Morning flowers, evening Kim,

Liz, sorry to hear about Cas. I hope she's better this morning, and soon recovers. I can well understand nosing around to a noise like that. Lets hope she won't do it again.

I rang my dear neighbour for a lift (if he was going) He said he had to go to Town, and was leaving in 5 minutes if I was ready. (which I was not) I had to shower and shave. He never mentioned waiting for me. So I left it at that. Ros came home from shopping early, so took and collected me.

The weather was a bit off yesterday, but I am pleased to see the sun and blue sky's this morning. Ros has changed the bed, so that will be on the line shortly.

Ros has been bringing back the "BANANA" box's from Tesco so she can pack all the glass wear from the cabinets. They are being stacked in the conservatory. The next big job will be getting all the paintings ad photo's off the walls. Where we will store those I don't know. ;-) ;-) ;-) I will see if I can find room in the garage.

I am going to try to get the veg done for dinner tonight. and make the pudding. It will give Ros a break.

magpie Report 11 Sep 2016 11:51

Yes Cas is fine now, nearly all the swelling has gone down and she's outside playing with her ring!! while I get a bit of sun!
We watched Joanna Lumley the other evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one. Beef for lunch here about 4 o'clock. New potatoes and carrots. Ice cream and bannana for pudding! Poldark tonight so that's our day mapped out!!
