O poor Cas. I remember when my J R had her pups and I went into the bathroom where she was with them and her nose had swollen up. She looked so funny as instead of a nice pointy nose she had a huge fat one right up to her eyes. I had to take her and the puppies to the vet and he gave her an injection and she was a lot better after that and the swelling went down.
Its such a worry when they can't really tell you whats wrong.
Does any of you have the daily mail on a Saturday?? I must admit I only have it that day for the weeks telly programs, but I read the bit in it this week written by Monty Donn about Nigel and the other dogs he's had through his life. He writes really well and it did make me laugh a few times.

Afternoon all,
Oh Liz poor Cas that must have been worrying knowing it stung her in the mouth , wasps are now beginning to crawl i noticed one yesterday and managed to get to it before Max did, i hope Cas is better today and lets hope she'll leave any more she sees alone .
Nice and sunny here today family have just gone home ,son came with Max's Jolly Egg that he'd ordered for me ,well he has had fun with it already as theres no way it can be picked up so he goes round and round the garden with it and it's really wearing him out , you should Cas one Liz she would love it .
Did anyone get the email from Jane showing the view from cottage ? mine didn't have the link to click on so i couldn't see it, i did get the one showing the black cat .

That sounds ideal Mandy! Once you find something to keep them occupied its much easier. Cas has her beloved ring, one for the garden and a much smaller one for the house so we're ok at least for the minute! No Mel l, we don't take a paper at all anymore, but I might be able to get the article on line! We just look up the telly on the screen! As you know we're not that telly minded so that works ok for us. No I didn't get Jane's cottage either, but I did get the cat!! These blasted wasps are still around, grrrrrrr!

What a good boy I have been. I peeled the spuds, parsnips, did the cauli, runners, peas and carrots. Made the cheese sauce and Yorkshire pudding. The pork is ready for the oven and the skin is all salted and oiled for the crackling.
Ros has got the garden bug, and has found some bulbs to put in. So she happy in the sunshine.
I have always liked any programme that Joanna Lumley does. The Japan one seems to have taken off well.
We have yesterday's Mail, but I haven't got round to reading it yet. I find the weekend papers last me all week. !!!
Will see if Madam wants a COT and cake, then back to my book.

Frank its in the tv program book.
No I did'nt get the view from the cottage either. Jane must have forgotten to press something so we're all in the same boat so to speak.
Had our big breakfast so now its only cheese and biccy to get ready for tonight.
Think oh may have gone for 40 winks so I am going in the garden.
We have had a deer in the orchard having a rest in the sun and then as I was getting the breakfast oh called me to see the deer and the baby one in the orchard and the other one had gone.

Our lunch (?) Was absolutely lovely. The beef was nice and rare as we like it, the veg cooked to a T!! We're having our bananas later as we're both full up! Cas has been for a run in our field as the big one has been sprayed, and we don't want anymore emergencies! Above her eyes is still a bit puffy, but apart from that she's ok!! Lovely evening here, hopefully a nice day tomorrow!

Evening All,
Oh Liz, poor Cas!! I can really sympathise with her and if she's like me she will keep well away from them now!! :-0 It's lucky you were at home with her when it happened. I see young Max would like to have got his choppers round one too Mandy!! Fancy the big softy thinking he could still sit on your knee!! lol.
Frank, you have been busy and helping where you can. What a misery your neighbour is!:-S
Mel, I have a few of the peas to save! :-) The deer seem to be getting more and more at home in your garden! I need to get outside with my pruners and cut some things back too. OH says he has 20 polythene sacks full from the garden and is taking them to the tip tomorrow morning. Then I can start filling them again. :-D Yes I saw the article about Monty and his dogs too. Wasn't it a lovely photo of them with him?
Anne, my mouth was watering at the thought of your roast lamb!! We rarely get it at the carveries round here at lunch time so I shall have to get a joint to cook when I go to the farm shop this week.
We went to an open garden in Northamptonshire this afternoon. It was over 3 acres and was the garden of a rectory. It had a potager garden in it and I have never seen so many fruit and veg grown together and intermingled.......it gave me some food for thought! We had a nice cuppa on the immaculate lawns and a nice piece of coffee and walnut cake......a habit we need to stop!! It's not as if I am a big fan of cake, I prefer things like cheesecake or a lemon meringue pie, but if it's there I can't say no!! lol.
I have the pic of Jane's view from the cottage so will send it on.

Morning my little flowers, evening Kim,
Not a lot to report. I managed to COOK the whole dinner and dish it up. Ros was very impressed and enjoyed the meal even more not having to cook it.
I watched Victoria then went to bed and left Ros to watch Poldark.
I said to Ros it wouldn't hurt Tony to offer to mow the lawns, she said I wouldn't even ask him. !!!
I see you are getting in to my County Ann, lol Where did you go. ??
Glad Cas has got over the sting. Did she need anything else apart from the injection ??
What a big SOFT THING MAX IS GETTING, WANTING TO SIT ON YOUR LAP. ;-) ;-) ;-) Well he is still a baby. !!!
Very windy here this morning, Ros is having her nails done this morning. When she gets back she has a basket of ironing to do.

Lunch over an hour ago. I only wanted a coffee, as I had eggs on toast for breakfast.
Ros has decide to cut the lawns before doing her ironing. I don't know where she finds the energy !!!
The old knee is giving me JIP today. It's feeling like someone is drilling through the kneecap, and making my leg twitch. It's very painful to put my weight on it, so hope everything is O.K. If it continues I will ring the hospital, to see what they think. Due to this exercises are difficult to do.So I am sitting with my leg up, reading my book.
Ros has prepared dinner for tonight, so I haven't got to worry about that.
My friend from BEN (charity for Motor Trade) who helped out when I had my Stroke, rang to say he hopes to call on me next month, to see that we ARE BOTH ALRIGHT It's so kind of him not to forget us after all these years.
Ros is slowly walking up and down the back lawn, I think she enjoys doing the mowing. <3 <3 <3 She had better look out, it could be permanent. LOL LOL.

Evening all,
It's been a hot day here ,got all my washing dry in no time , will need to water tonight.
Thanks Ann for passing Jane's email on ,looks like they have a nice view from the cottage, i wonder if the black cat visitor is still about . Hope your feeling better now and sleeping better at night too.
Frank do you think you did to much yesterday ,doing all the veg and cooking ,perhaps you stood to long . Colin is getting on well ,he gets a shooting pain if he moves his leg to much one way but he knows how far he can move the leg so he's careful , he's moving about on the crutches better now but he gets annoyed because he carn't carry any thing .
Liz hope Cas is better and all the swelling has gone down , are you still getting the wasps in ?
Hope OH managed to get on with the other digger in the rain Mel.
No Gill lately ? perhaps she's still busy in the garden trying to get it all done before Michelle comes .

Yes Mandy he got on well with the bigger digger today but he moans about how much room there is in the cab. We hav'nt got a cab on our small digger. He moved the great pile of earth we had at the bottom of the back field and also dug out an old weed willow we have had growing in the back field for years now. It used to be in the old chicken run and gave them shade in the summer but its nowhere near the chicken run now since we have had it in two different places since then.
Good Colin is getting about on the crutches but as he says he can't carry anything using them. Must be very frustrating for him.
Sorry to hear your knee is giving you pain Frank but I expect its all to do with the turning in the kitchen cooking yesterdays meal as Mandy said you stood too long.
I have been ironing nearly all day. There were things in the bottom of the ironing basket I had forgotten about!!!!!!!!!! Threw some things out and only have a couple of bits to do now but I have had enough.
Going to cook spag bol now and have that with some garlic dough balls.
Must give oh his cider now as I think he has earned it tonight.

It's been .a good day here weather wise just about the right heat.
Thank's Ann for passing on Jane's photo, what a splendid view she has, I wonder if she bought any books from Hay on Wye we use to go there when visiting Peter's elder sister in Herefordshire it's not too far from there. I do remember all the book shops which I could never resist.
Frank, I wish I had Ros's energy she always seems to be busy doing something, sorry to hear your knee has been giving you grief again.
I was on the phone to my S.I.L. this afternoon and she was telling me about one of her son's carer's partner, he owns two dogs a rottweiler and mastiff he let them out unsupervised, they got into a field of rare breed sheep and killed or badly mutilated all of them, these has to humanely put down, they had destroyed the entire blood line. Realising he would be arrested he then tried to commit suicide. She thinks the dogs were probably shot.

Morning Ladies and Gents, Evening Kim,
Lovely morning here, wall to wall sunshine. I might try to sit out later with my book.
Ros is off out with Carolyn for "their day" pottering around the shops and garden centres. It's great that she likes to do it. It gets her out for a few hours.
She was up just after 6.00 am, when I came out at 9.00 she was just finishing the ironing.
Running out of pain killers again, SO MUST RING THE DOCTORS.Another iffy night for me. It seems that I get comfortable about 7.00 am and I can get a couple of hours for peace from my knee.
What a terrible thing to happen with the dogs, !! I can see a hefty fine,or even prison coming for the owner. These things should never happen. :-( :-( :-(
Here a thing to put a smile on your faces. I have been pestered by a fly in the lounge. Ros put the fly spray beside be. I thought it landed on my slipper so gave it a squirt. It turned out to be a bit of the lining from my slipper. :-D :-D :-D We did have a good laugh !!!
Mel, as Liz said, it would be better if you did the "BULK" on line, and just got your odds and sods locally.
My computer isn't right. I have lost all my Email contacts and my SKYPE. Harvey and Lewis will h ave a look on Saturday evening. When I spoke to Conrad, he said he will give me his "Mac book" whatever that is.
The girls have just gone, so I will get my shower and shave. See you later.
