Not a lot happening here ,we're off later for Chelsea's birthday tea .

You'll just have to have a light lunch today Frank after that big meal , the cake sounds lovely ,did it all get eaten or did you bring some home ?

Hope Thomas is back home ok ,he'll soon be out on the hunt again i expect .

Thomas is home and off.He keeps coming back lol.He looks so good and has obviously had a good brush before I picked him up. The bad news is that the Cattery is closing :-( :-(.. I am gutted. The couple who run it have decided that they need to have a life and to be able to just go off where and when they fancy .They are coming up to about retirement age so I quite understand.Even so just having found them it means I will have to find somewhere else for him now.The lady has recommended another place so I will check it out.

I had a phone call from Fiona this afternoon. She has asked me to send her regards to all .The poor girl has had a really rough time with this head business.Various medications has not done a lot to help.She is now on a new one which she feels might be helping a bit now so is keeping fingers crossed that it continues .She has been very low with not being able to get out and about and having to rely on OH to take her anywhere.The trouble is to do with inflammation in Nerve Endings in her head.

James has come back from Scotland with a right lurgy...Shivering and sweating and basically looks so poorly :-(..I am not sure if he is going to be fit enough for going back to work in the morning ...Jess goes home later tonight. Hannah has just gone with friends to see the new Bridget Jones film.

The washing machine has been going all day .Thankfully lots dry on the line :-D
How the nights are drawing in.It is almost time to put some lights on !!!

I still haven't read all the posts from the last 11 days or so ,so I apologise for not commenting.
I need to think about dinner now.James wants nothing.Hannah will no doubt have some pick and mix at the cinema lol(although I will keep her dinner hot) So it is Chris ,Me and Jess !

I said I would forget to wish Ann and Gordon happy anniversary but I may just get in in now.

Hav'nt done much today just some washing which dried well on the line.

Its been another dry and sunny day here but clouded up a bit late afternoon.

Frank that cake sounded delish.... wish I could have had a slice. Hope you have another good time tonight.

So Thomas is back to his old tricks in and out hunting again. Bet he was pleased to see you when you picked him up. Shame the cattery is closing but hope the one recommended will be just as kind and loveing to the residence as the old one was.

Welcome home Jane, glad everything is good with Thomas, pity about the cattery closing down.

My lunch today consisted of a "PRAWN COCKTAIL" if you can call a massive Glass filled with lettuce and a few prawns on top with some sauce. I complained but to no avail. The waitress agreed with me, and walked off !!

I couldn't face a roast dinner today, but Ros Kerry and Jan enjoyed theirs and they had a sweet. There is about a quarter of the cake left, but with Jan coming tomorrow that with reduce it in size

I bought Ros a dash cam a few months ago, and meant to ask Harvey of Lewis to fit it. But silly old me FORGOT.

I can hear POLDARK IS ON now, yet another that doesn't grab my attention, so I will finish my beer and go to bed.

Sleep tight all, see you tomorrow.

No Frank, we weren't at all impressed with Victoria, so aren't watching it anymore, but love Poldark, hope you do too!

Afternoon to you all,

Jan came about 1,00 pm and took Ros out for a bit of girl time. They did invite me, but I didn't want to be walking round the shops.

I learnt something this morning. The blue badge holder should not remain in the car while the partner goes shopping. It is meant for the holder to be able to park so they can get to the shops. Not the other way round. So if any of you have a badge, watch out for the inspector. !!

Well Jane you won't be sitting out having your lunch this afternoon !!! It is a horrible afternoon here.

This evening J & C are taking us the the next village for a bite to eat. They will pick us up at 6.30 pm. Never eaten there before, so will see what I think.

Yes good luck with the teeth Mel. Hope you will be satisfied this time. My gums are very sore so I have been putting Bonjela on them. Hope they will be comfortable for tonight.

Ros had loads of cards today (17) and some nice presents.

Back did a bit of shopping and browsing before going into Lidl. I bought myself a BLT sandwich but thought I better wait till I got home before trying to eat it. Oh watched me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bite is ok they are not rubbing YET but I managed to bite the side of my mouth three times and my tongue twice. Since then I have had a piece of choc cake and did once on the outside of my mouth and once on my tongue!! but I can now bite a sandwich which I could'nt do before and they don't wobble either.

Frank is it actually Ros's birthday today? Happy Birthday Ros <3.. Shame is it such a miserable day.
The rain seems to be harder now than earlier .No we didn't get to eat outside.Just cleared the dining table of all Hannah's work to one side and ate around that lol.
That will be a change to eat somewhere new tonight Frank.I hope you all enjoy it.

You never guess what I saw running towards me last night on the Patio...........A Hedgehog :-D :-D..We have lived here since 1991 and that is the first Hedgehog I have seen.Now what I want to know is it likely it is living close by and am I likey to see it again?Is it worth me geting a Hedgehog House? I ran in to get my camera but it had disappeared by the time I got back out. That was about 9pm.

Fitz enjoyed all our pics of the holiday and it has made him feel a bit 'homesick'. He lived near where we stayed for a couple of years almost 40yrs ago.He did give us directions to the little cottage he lived in ,so we set off to find it.My word it was way high up on this hill in the middle of nowhere down a single track lane !!!!!!.It took a bit of finding .Chris took photo of it for him :-D..It was a nightmare driving down the track and I was so worried that I would get stuck had we met another vehicle .Thankfully we didn't :-D It would have been a right hooha .Chris wouldn't never have coped if he was driving LOL.He doesn't do narrow tracks :-) I am used to the narrow winding lanes of Devon.

Early start for me in the morning.I have my Mammogram at 9.05 !! Chris will take me and just wait in the car park at the hospital. I hate this ,but it is something that has to be done .I just hope I don't get a scare like Ann.

How is Paul settling in at his flat Anne?I am sure it will take a while until he gets everything just as he wants.It's nice that the girls can stay and have their own bathroom.
I must put another load of washing in the dryer.This will be the last one now

<3HAPPY BIRTHDAY <3 to ROS. It sounds like she has done well with cards and presents!

Thank you all for your good wishes for our anniversary yesterday. We didn't do a lot, just out for lunch and then OH took me to a bead sale at Dunchurch! He didn't mind a bit as it was at a sports hall and there was a footie match outside for him to watch! :-)

Thomas didn't take long to get out hunting did he! He'll be regretting it if he tackles your new visitor. That cottage Fitz lived at wasn't easy to get to was it Jane. You did well to navigate the track! I have to shut my eyes sometimes when OH goes down places like that.......he drives too fast over potholes for my liking and they are always my side of the car. Poor James does sound poorly and it sounds like bed is the best place for him. I am still not well after catching OH's lurgy. I seem to have been left with this sore throat that won't go. I checked today and I've had it 10 days now so might have to go to the docs with it. I'm spending far too much time there these days!! The cold has almost completely gone. I hope you don't have to wait long for your mammogram tomorrow Jane. I often wonder if it is less uncomfortable if you don't have much to squish!!

I hope your new gnashers are good Mel!! They should be after all this time.

I'll be having a close look at those posts next time I'm there Mandy. Fancy having sharp corners on them like that. The people who live at the houses could damage their own tyres. Did Chelsea have a nice birthday and like her cake?

OH isn't best pleased. Like Jane had happen, some lowlife has keyed two doors and the wing of his car the passenger side while he was parked at one of the footie matches he went to on Saturday. Maybe we should all have cameras on our cars for when they are parked!

I must admit I am beginning to find Victoria a bit well 'unlikely'. As for Poldark, I'm not finding that as good as the previous series either.

It's been a bit cloudy today but it has kept dry so i got all the washing dry.

I'm sure you'll soon get use to the feel of your few teeth Mel and then you won't be biting your mouth or tongue , it's good too that you can now bite better with them in .

Happy Birthday to Ros , thats a lovely amount of cards ,was she pleased with the new hedge trimmer?

Well son has finally got his tyres fitted, what a do that was !!
He's waited most of the day,so much for an early delivery , ten thirty they said and it was three o'clock when he rang and they said they were in and to give them half an houf then call in , off we went got there and they still hadn't fitted the tryes on the rims so we sat there while that was done, then it took ages to do the paper work as a chap came through from the back and they sat talking abouf this other car ,in the end i fired up ,now thats not me , it takes a lot to wind me up but that did it and i let rip!!

Excuse me i said are you serving us ? he turned and said im trying to do two jobs here, we've been busy and this car came in yesterday ,i said well we're here now and you were serving us ,plus he had just taken a phone call as well while doing our paper work so he was telling the chap from the back about that too.
Son said he'd never go back there and he's going to send a complaint email to head
office .
I soon told him he wouldn't get our custom again , i think son was a bit shocked , he's never seen me fire up like that .
You should have seen the chaps face who came through from the back , he pulled such a face i felt like saying if the wind changes you'll stay like that !!!

Yes Ann Chelsea loved her cake and said it was her best birthday ever.
We bought her a pair of Heelys ,trainers with two wheels in the heel, you skate on them like roller skates , she had them on nearly all day ,then this morning she said her legs were hurting , i think it was using the muscle's to skate .

Mandy Iv'e seen young girls in Morrisons with those trainers on and some of them ran into the back of other shopper. Not got the right control to be in a crowd with them on. Don't you raise the toe to ride on the wheels, thats what has made her little legs ache she's using muscles she dos'nt usually use. YOu just lift your foot up from the ankle and hold it there a while and see what I mean.

Am getting on ok with the teeth at the moment. They are more comfortable than either of the other two pairs I have had. No charge but told to make a 6 monthly appointment.

O hedgehog house. it needs to be sighted away from the house under some everygreen shrub for shelter. Some are rather small so be careful and don't get one made of willow or brushwood because it won't last very long. I have one that \I made out of a plastic box with a lid. I just cut a hole to one side of the biggest side. I did this for some chicksand their mum. It does need a paving slab on the top to keep it in place and if you start feeding them don't feed them near the box or they won't use it. They are solitary creatures and won't be happy if others are feeding near. I put stripped up newspaper in mine but dry leaves or grass will do too as thats their natural bedding for their nests. If you want any more info just google hedgehog boxes and care. There's lots of info out there. <3

Dull and wet here today which is a pity as I was hoping to lay some grass, might be able to do it later if the rain stays away.

Well, OH and I have been so busy this pass week or so and now the garden looks more like a garden instead of a building site. Just a few more jobs to do so hopefully they'll be finished before Michelle's visit apart from the back fence, the fella can't do it until the first week in October which is the week Michelle arrives. Once the back fence is done we can then finally put the shed up and empty one of the rooms in our bungalow where OH has been storing all the garage stuff. It'll be so nice to be back to normal again.

So you have a hedgehog in your garden Jane, how lovely, hope he comes back. We've had a few here and they are lovely to watch aren't they?

I'm hoping to catch up on some of the programmes I've recorded today, I haven't starting watching Poldark yet, so if I can't get into the garden then that'll be watched today.

Going to get a cuppa and get dressed then see what the weather is doing, I've only got a small amount of grass to put down where it's a bit patchy so hopefully the rain will stay away long enough for me to do it ;-) :-D

Bit dull here today but its not raining at the moment. It rained all day yesterday so I hope oh's gras seed did'nt wash away. It was light steady rain so hopefully it was alright.

When I woke up this morning I thought it was Wednesday but then oh came in to wake me up and tell me it was late and I better get up.

So now I am off to do my daily challenges and the shopping.

There's nothing to see in the garden at the moment Mel, we've only had the garage taken down, all the work so far has just been the hard landscaping with patio's and fencing, I'm hoping to have something nice in the garden before the winter sets in but it won't be before Michelle arrives. I would of liked it to have been finished but trying to get workmen here is a nightmare and when you finally do get someone they don't seem to complete the jobs so OH and I have to do it which is what's taking the time. It's a bit disappointing as it was supposed to be my 50th birthday present but it looks like all I'm going to get is some fencing, patio's and grass. If the weather doesn't turn frosty I might be able to plant something in the ground later in the year, but at this rate I doubt that'll happen :-( :-(. So it looks like it might be next year when all the pretty things go in.

I've decided to have a day off today as I'm really achy after finishing all the patio areas yesterday, although I'm thinking of adding another row of paving slabs so we can get a slightly bigger shed in that area and I've noticed that the last row of paving slabs on the other patio I did have moved slightly so I'll have to sort them out to, all this can be done tomorrow as they won't take to long to do, along with the grass.

I'm still waiting for the skip to be removed so we can order the new soil and turf as there is no room on the drive to put it all at the moment. I was told they will try and collect the skip today but I'm starting to think that might not happen, hope they don't take to long as we've less than two weeks to go before Michelle arrives and at the moment we have a large 21 foot by 8 foot hole where the garage base used to be :-(
I will send some photo's when it's all finished, but it'll probably be next year now.

Afternoon all

Sorry I am late on parade, but nothing happening here for me to report.

We had rain all day yesterday and into the evening. Ros drove to the meal last night, as I have a job getting into John's Range Rover. On Saturday I got my left foot caught under the open car door trying to get in. Boy did that hurt. !!

The meal last night was very good. I have never eaten there before, but will be going back. Everywhere was as clean as a new pin, the service was excellent. The MENU catered for all tastes. and was presented and cooked perfectly. Ros said it was one of the best RIB EYED STEAKS she had eaten. John agreed. Carolyn and I had F & C.

Jane how nice to have a HOG. Ours still leaves his calling cards on the patio. When I feed him the BLOO#Y cats comes and feed themselves. !! So I feed in different places, hoping they don't find it. LOL

Ros is out on her Tuesday shopping with Carolyn. GAWD knowswhat they find to do all day long.

My gums are covered in spots, and are so sore. The BONGELA is getting well used. Is there anything else that will help ??

I'm late on parade too.I had the Mammogram at 9 this morning.it will be about a week to 10 days Frank before the results .Then came home had soem breakfast ,went shopping and then a ton of ironing this afternoon.
James didn't go into work until 10 this morning as he is still not completely over the lurky.I expect he will have his dinner and then be off to bed.
Hannah has just gone to the gym.

I haven't seen the Hog again.But will keep my eyes peeled.I will have a look for any 'calling cards ' :-D

Gill ,I am sure Michelle will just be pleased to see you all when she comes home.I know that you want the garden all done before then,but please don't over do it.You don't want to be laid up when she arrives with her boyfriend.

It is turning out to be a lovely evening here.Not that it has been bad at all today.Chris got the lawn cut this afternoon.I thought it was gong to be too wet after yesterday but it was ok.

Thomas had a bird earlier :-| :-| :-|.... That is unusual these days.Maybe he hadn't had his full quota of mice !.. Naughty Boy :-S
