Afternoon all,
Tipping down here ,we have had a dry morning and i did get some washing dry , but not the bedding which was late going in the washer .
Frank there will be no sleeping in the shed ,thats some thing Colin would never let happen and i think son would have some thing to say about that too. I hope Nicko will be with his family in the bad weather . Your knee has probably tightened after you doing the mowing , it's telling you no i don't like you doing that .
We've had some big old slugs in the garden ,they are quite orangey looking ones. I noticed they had a go at the seed packets last year when i had the green house up , i couldn't use any slug pellets this year with Max about in the garden ,i think next year i might try the stuff that you can use in the watering can .
Theres a wedding here at the church i have just heard the bells ringing and saw people in suits walking about. It's such a shame when it's wet so no photo's can be taken outside.
Would he be making some fencing with those pallets Jane ? I think they can be used for that , some of them are quite hard wood ,i know Colin chopped one up foe sticks for the fire.
Well i had better turn my Apple cake out of the tin now it's cooled down, Max is in the dog house the little monkey i let him out for a wee as he asked to go out , he raced round and round the garden decided he would roll in the puddles which absolutely soaked him and he then came in and did a wee on the mat !!

Mel you talk about things gone missing.Chris has lost 2 new shirts !!.WE have searched high and low and they are nowhere to be found :-S :-S..I have lost 2 pairs of earrings as well.Well one and a half. Oh my goodness the rain we have just had.it was like a cloud burst!!!!. The wedding service will be on now so I am hoping at least the rain will hold off so they can at least have some nice pics taken at the church. James looked very smart and Jess looked a bloody mess.Honestly her sense of fashion is so weird. Her hair too looked like birds nest that had been mangled. :-S :-S.She looked a bit like some mad bag lady.Hey Ho! We all have different ideas of what looks ok.
I can't understand why Chris likes those little sausages in the beans,He only like Cross and Blackwell too.I like Heinz Beans. I have just finished doing the bedroom for Janice and scooping up gawd knows how many of those little spiders.Fitz says he is still having a problem with them too. They just seem to multiply over night. Our loo downstairs is full of webs and spiders again.
I see that a portion of hedge at the end of the lane(going down to Fitz ) has been taken out and there is a temporary road starting for the big lorries and machinery to lay water and sewerage pipes for the new development up behind Fitz. The Bridle Lane has to be kept free of all the big trucks as people like Fitz have to be able to get to their properties and also there is a lot of Horse traffic because of the stables.I can still see there will be a fair bit of dispruption this end of the lane.Gone has our peaceful days here :-(
I can see a slightly lighter sky ,but it might just be a fleeting thing.Thomas was obviously desperate to go out and sat at the back door looking at the downpour just now. He then used his tray ,but has now ventured just as far as the Summerhouse lol I saw his little bum disappearing in through the cat flap. Time to get the big hoover out now and get this lounge done.

Typical naughty boy then Mandy LOL Is he is his crate? I can see a little bit of blue sky :-D. James just popped home to pick up a warm jacket for Jess for later .He also dropped off his friend Alex, wife and children. They just went to the service. One of the children is just a few months old so they aren't staying on for the reception. James said the cloud burst happened whilst they were all in church but had stopped by the time they came out. I don't imagine Nicko would even consider staying with you Mandy especially as he does have family nearby.Living rough may just be his choice.I think you are doing a great job with providing him with some food and I am sure he is very grateful. Maybe Mel is right and he has given his Aunt and Uncles address so he can get some benefits. Apparently here there is a desperate need for more food for the food bank.I always put something in the trolley in Tesco ,but maybe I could put a bit more if they are struggling. It doesn't add much to the food bill just to pop a tin or two or some rice/pasta . When I think what we eat every week and(and what we waste) then others are struggling so much to feed a family it makes me feel quite sad and a bit guilty. I try and imagine if it was me and trying to feed Hannah and James . LOTS OF BLUE SKY NOW :-D

Good afternoon all
Couldn't get on here yesterday as for some reason the internet was down. I managed to put in most of the spring bulbs there was a kilo of mixed daffodils, 100 crocus and 25 hyacinths, I still have some anemones to go in and haven't received the tete a tete a yet. Went down to the surgery this morning to get my flu jab they always have walk in clinics for these on Saturdays this time of year. It's more like April here with really heavy showers and then warm sunshine it's doing both at the moment so should be a rainbow.
Jane how annoying losing all your frozen food and especially the meat. I am imagining Jess looking a little like Helena Bonham Carter's Bo Ho look, I hope they have a good time at the wedding. What a shame you & Fitz are about to lose your peace and quiet with all the building work starting to happen.
Frank sorry to hear about your knee having a set back you must try not to do anything that might stop it healing as it sounds like you shouldn't have done that mowing, naughty boy!!
Mandy it must be a relief for you that Nicko has his aunt & uncle living fairly near, you must have been a life saver for him giving him food, I wonder why he is in this position and not living with family or in a hostel. I had to smile at Max's antics.
We are lucky that we don't have those tiny spiders just a few bigger ones now and again, we do have plenty of slugs and a few snails in the garden as I don't like killing anything I launch them over the back fence into the bushes were thay have a soft landing.
Did anyone watch The Level last night at 9o/c on ITV? It was a good start to the story. Looking forward to Strictly, I wonder which couple will be the first to go, I think it could be Ed Balls but we shall see tomorrow.

Helena Bonham Carter look is a fair description Anne :-D Def Bo Ho.I do wonder though sometimes ifJames is a bit embarrassed as he is so traditional .Jacket,Shirt and tie etc.
I watched The Level this morning as I fell asleep last night whilst watching it. It looks like it is going to be a goody :-D..So that is that one,The Fall,Paranoid,Cold Feet, and then Missing starting fairly soon..I will have square eyes !!!!!!. I am quite looking forward to restocking the freezer :-D..All new food and knowing nothing has been lurking in there for a couple of years will be good :-D.
Strictly soon ,then XF and Casualty !! .I will probably watch Casualty in bed first thing in the morning in bed on the laptop.Once Janice is here I won't have a chance to do watch Catch Up. The choices we have now to watch anything on TV is amazing .Thinking back to the Black and White tv days where there was just the BBC to start off . Watch with Mother :-D :-D Bill and Ben, The Wooden Tops,Andy Pandy,Rag, Tag and Bobtail , and another one that escapes me right now.

Naughty Max. I wonder why they do that when they have just been out? Perhaps he was so excited he forgot to do it outside.
I have made two more pumkins this afternoon while I had some time to myself as oh threw himself on the bed after lunch and slept for ages in fact I had to go in and make sure he was breathing at one point. Then I went to change the solar lights round to the west window and I must have woken him up as both my shouders cracked as I lifted the last two lights. I have just made him a COC and me a COT and here I sit talking to you lot.
Ann you are a good girl getting all those bulbs in. You will be pleased when they flower next year in the spring. I bought some tulips in Morrisons last year called Sherbert Mixed and was very pleased with them so I think I may buy some more this year as they have the same ones, I saw them last week but did'nt buy them.
It's such a shame when you lose your peace and quiet with building work going on. It is happening all over the country. Like us losing our lovely view up the 80 acres out the back of the bungalow when they planted it all with trees. It used to be lovely to lay in bed and look at the stars but now all we can see are trees with a little bit of stars just over the top.

OH likes those sausages with beans too!! lol I can empathise about losing peace and quiet because of house building Jane. :-S It's gone a bit quieter here this last week. The blockpaved drive diagonally opposite is finished now, the cable layers have finished and gone and there have been less deliveries to the builders. They seem to be working on the insides of the first bungalow and the house now as both are roofed.
The amount of building going on everywhere is incredible Mel and this morning we couldn't park in the village car parks as they were jammed full. When OH retired 6 years ago the car parks were never full. What it will be like when they have finished the smaller developments they are still working on around the village and then the one with over 4000 houses they are putting the roads in for at the moment, I shudder to think. The narrow main road through the village is on a granite hill and can't be widened as there are houses and the Hall boundary wall each side and the footpaths are only about 2 foot wide in places. Traffic is horrendous and backs up over a mile at night and in the morning. The powers that be are certainly not bothered about the future with their plans.
Oh dear it sounds like Max forgot himself after getting excited with rolling in the puddles!! :-0
That's a lot of bulbs planted Anne, you should have a great display in the spring. I mostly have the tete a tete daffodils now as they don't blow over too easily.

Morning all,
Well at present the sun is shining its head off and the sky is so blue and as clear as a bluebell. O it makes you feel so good when the sun shines.
Must go and feed the birds as I forgot yesterday but they did have some food left which is now gone. I don't seem to have a lot of little birds about at the moment. I am getting a few Goldfinches on the sunflower heart feeder and a Marsh Tit and have seen just one Bluetit and there's a couple of Dunnocks on the table. We did have the young buzzard on the front grass nearly all day yesterday and I hope he's not taking my birds. I know he has had a go at a neighbours call ducks and we have'nt seen any baby rabbits lately which is good.
Oh spotted a rat at the hog bowl last night so told me to get hte gun. He waited out there poised till it came back and took a pot shot came towards me and said he missed it. O no you did'nt said I it is laying behind the Christmas tree on the road with hits white belly towards us. He shall have to start baiting again as they come in off the back when they stop feeding the young phesants.
Disappointed with the grand prix today.

Morning Jane, (did you wet the bed) ??? Morning all, evening Kim,
Nice bright morning here after yesterdays rain.
I managed to get Carolyn to drop me off at the pub yesterday lunchtime. As I walked in "SAM" one of the locals enquired about my knee. and how I didn't look very well. I explained to him in no uncertain words about TONY and the lawn cutting. He was giving me a funny look, and when I looked round the corner, there sat TONY. He said "So you have hurt your knee mowing the lawn" and left it there. So he knows how I felt.!!!
Ros seems a lot better this morning. She has showered and washed her hair. She in under the dryer as we speak.
Our remote control has gone up the creek, one of the battery terminals is corroded and it won't let you change stations, so it looks like a trip to Tesco to buy a new one.
Harvey came up yesterday and did the jobs that needed doing before the decorator hangs the paper tomorrow. Then it will be the BIG REFIT of all the glass cabinets We have agreed to cut down on the number of pictures we will put back on the walls.
All this building work going on around the Country. There is talk of more houses on the outskirts of Blisworth. There is a big shortage for youngsters getting in the property ladder.
I have been exercising this morning, but the knee is still screaming at me, and I am having to use my stick to get around safely.
I saw something yesterday that made me smile (but not funny) Two lads all dressed up for a wedding were sheltering in the bus shelter, waiting for a lift. The road was flooded with all the rain, when a lorry came rushing by and sprayed and soaked the poor boys through to the skin. How they got on at the wedding I just don't know.
Shower time for me now, so see you later.

Well I'm pleased if Tony heard what you said Frank. He is a real bu**er.
What a shame for the boys frank. Surely they would have seen the lorry coming and whipped round the back of the shelter.
Just going to start the BIG breakfast so I better get going as I am hungry.

Morning All,
Yes Jane was up early and getting things done ready for her visitors wasn't she!
I hate rats in the garden Mel, so that's one less you have to bother about now. We have Buzzards in the field at the back quite often now, but I hadn't thought of that being why we seem to have hardly any rabbits now. You have much more variety of birds in your garden than we do.
Yes I think that was lucky that Tony did hear what you said in the pub too Frank. It won't hurt as he must be very thick skinned!! So the wallpaper will be the last lap of the decorating I expect. It will be good to get straight again and a time to decide how much you put back as you say as things just get added to over time.
We had lunch at the carvery about a mile away and now OH is painting more of the fence and I will do some more pruning next. I have loads to do inside too so will make a start on some of that. I still feel under the weather and the throat is still a bit sore in the morning and evening but at least I feel more like getting on now. Lovely sunshine here too. BBL

Well that's me and my back had enough outside for now! I pruned the bottle brush which is now about 6 foot high and tied the very dark blue californian lilac I have back to the trellis and higher up. It's leaves are almost black but it never wants to grow upwards!! Pruned that and then made a start on the back of the yellow Choisya so OH could get behind it to paint the fence. OH has just 4 panels to paint at the bottom of the garden and a plank to nail back in place. Then there are the narrow top trellis bits and the fence the length of the bungalow at the side to do. I've picked toms and the last of the runners and watered plants, cleaned the kitchen sink and am having a COT now. :-)
That was a funny dream you had Mel! It's amazing what your mind conjures up when you are asleep.
The standard seems quite high in strictly this year......all those acrobatics!! I see Craig isn't liking Judge Rinder's hands!! I can see some cutting retorts between those two in coming weeks. :-)

Afternoon All,
Well it is a lovely day today. :-) I have done the supermarket shopping and put it all away.......OH helped. :-) I don't often buy it but was amazed today to see strawberry jam without any bits in it. I never found the bits a problem! Next I'm going to the farm shop for some salad and veg and then to take something back to another shop. I might get out to do some pruning later, but the knees and back are twanging a bit from yesterday!! :-S
I got an invite to join another study today, but it was for a parent and child so I might be a tad too old for that one! lol.
Jane is hopefully getting the same nice weather as we are which will be nice for Janice too. I hope Thomas isn't bringing her too many presents.
Yes how are the teeth now Mel?
When does Max start school Mandy?

Well it's all finished. The decorator came at 8.15 this morning and worked through till 2.30 this afternoon hanging wallpaper. What a fine job he has made of it too. I asked him for a price to strip the kitchen and Emulsion walls and ceiling. Paint any woodwork. He barely looked around and said £150.00 So will have to save a bit and get him back. When I think he has been here for almost a week for £375.00, I don't know how he does it.
Carole down the road took Ros out for lunch fr a late birthday present. She had a nice lunch at Roade, the next village from us. She has now changed and cutting the back lawn. I darn't even consider doing it, the way my knee is playing up !!!
Lamb cutlets for dinner tonight. I have done all the veg, while Ros was out.
I suppose tomorrow (even tonight) she will start washing the glass in the cabinets, before re-loading them with all the china and glass. Then it will be the job of choosing what pictures will be back on the walls. Watch out for blows !!!!
I really don't know where all the grass cuttings will go tonight. The green bin is full to overflowing as is Pam's. I suppose we can use Tony's after dark !!!
I forgot to tell you Ros saw my son SIMON on Saturday going into our local Tesco. I don't know if he has moved this way from Daventry. He didn't notice her as he had his head in his phone. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 and she didn't make any effort to speak to him.
Very pleasant day here today. J & C have gone to Gloucester today to see his brother. Then tomorrow they are off up north for a Steam Engine Ride, they will be back Thursday.
Better go and get this leg up as it's throbbing like mad :-( :-( :-( :-(

Ihave to deliver two and a half dozen eggs to Em next door. Oh is out mowing and not sure if I can go out as he is expecting a phone call about his car.
Perhaps he will come in if I am not too long but I also know hw will want to get the grass cut while the weathers fine and dry.
The oil is coming before or on Thursday this week so he has had to make a standing area down by the oil tank on the new grass that he dos'nt want walked on and clear the patio of my bean pots and tubs and a few more bits. he did that this morning.
I went to the shop for some milk and when I came back there was a huge coach reversing from the cross road I wanted to go down. I had to wait for it to back up all the way to the village hall carpark and it parked in the road in front of the car park!!!!!!!! I had to drive around it to get to the carpark where our driveway is (Ann and Jane know what its like out there) and there were three women dressed up in the car park one as a nurse one as an old nurse and one who was just dressed up in a bright pink top and black skirt. I asked what it was all about and the one dressed as a nurse told me it was a 1940's mystery coach trip. When I got in I told oh and then we went to take his car to Stuarts. When we got up there there were lots of cars in the car park and men in WW2 soldiers uniform and other ladies all dressed up. WE both managed to get past and off we went to the garage. On the way back they had the entire road blocked by peopel standing around the coach door just chatting and a big basket with drinks in was parked in the road at the side of the coach too. They did'nt seem to see that we wanted to get past at first them moved out of the way onto the carpark and had to come back for the basket of drinks before I ran it over. O we do have fun down here sometimes.
