Afternoon Everyone
Mel I too liked the boys 5 After Midnight .They were really good.Mibd you the song was good.I love all that Mowtown Music.
Anne that is a relief knowing Amy is better now.I do hope she doesn't become ill again. She has had a while of being up and down lately. I have Roast Beef too today. But not until this evening.I have cooked the Beef and par boiled the Potatoes.Got the Parsnips and Carrots ready to go in the oven.So that is half done :-D
Yes Mandy the man arrived half an hour early this morning to measure the bathroom floor. He had another job to go to after which was half an hours drive. He could talk the hind leg of a donkey and would drive me nuts if he was around for too long.
Ann's bracelet was beautiful wasn't it :-D..I just love the colours. I can't believe it is almost time for the clocks to go back !!. I don't when it is Mandy. Half term too has come around quickly. I think Janice is going to have her hands full with all the Grandchildren as Williams Daddy works full time and also Rachel (Janice's daughter is working 3 days a week now.Plus Larry will still be getting to grips with his new 'sight'. Young William went to the Circus the other day after school...He slept all through it and didn't see a thing !! What a shame. But I think full days at school now are tiring him out.He is only just 4 yrs 4 months. Finn is cock a hoop after passing the 11 plus.I think to be honest no-one thought he would .
No hosing down the Patio this morning...the heavy rain did that :-D.It has rained all morning but now it is blue sky and the wind seems to be picking up a bit.
James has just arrived. He has been down with Jess this weekend.I think sje is here next weekend and then James down there the following one.He has been sniffing around the kitchen lol But I siad if he wants something ot eat he can just have a snack now as we won't be eating until about 6.
I have just caught up with the Bake off and see Benjamina has gone.I wonder who will win.I would love it to be the young Irish lad.
People are moving out today from a house a few doors up. I saw a For Sale Sign go up the other day.It has been rented out for a few years after the owner Mrs James died. Her son has obviously decided it is time to get rid of it now. The other house empty still is Joans house(the elderly lady who died ) a few doors down.I think her Nephews who now own it are thinking of letting it for the time being.I don't like to see it empty for so long.Joan loved her garden and it is now looking very unkempt and unloved :-( I have just remembered I have towels in the tumble drier. They probably need a bit more time .So I must go and get them finished off.

Good idea Mel. You don't want the thunder knocking out the pooter. My TV kept going off just now saying No Signal.I wonder if there is something in the atmosphere going on.No thunder of rain here though. Still blue sky.
When I drove past Tresham College this morning I thought there must have been something terrible that had happened there as there were so many fire engines, ambulances and police......Turns out there was one of these practise things in case of a major incident.I would love to take part in one of these things.(as maybe a pretend victim). It is good they do these things as you just never know what might happen and the emergency services must need to have a hands on experience should something major happen.(God forbid) It looked like one of the episodes of the programme Casualty !!
I was thinking this morning when I washed my hair(as we were talking of washing hair the other day) My Nana had long hair still into her 80s. She would plait it and then roll it into a bun low down on the back of her head.I just remembered all the Kirby Grips she used to keep the bun in place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.I think she was probably in her mid to late 80s when she decided to have her hair cut (after decades having a bun). She then had a perm :-D :-D. Much more modern :-) and she looked so different and not so harsh.

Well our thunderstorm turned into a hail downpour just as if someone up there had a ten ton lorry and tipped it all out at once. I have never seen anything like it and you could'nt really see anything out of the window. I tried to take a picture and oh came out and said I was stupid as I would'nt get anything worth seeing, he was right!!! It blocked our drain outside the kitchen on the road with piles of hail bypassed the drain and ran further down the road onto the orchard grass.
I had'nt turnd the pc on since till now. I decided to make some more hedgehogs with pom poms and after the first one my scissors were'nt cutting properly as I had some glue on the blades. I washe dthem and thought I would dry them on plenty of kitchen paper, had done it and ran my paper up once more to which I sliced the top of my index finger on my left hand. It don't half hurt and would'nt stop bleeding so I had to put a thin rubber glove on to stop the blood getting on things.
Anne I am pleased Amy is back to normal now. Its such a worry when they are under par as they can't tell you whats wrong.
Jane my gt gran had hair down to her waist. Mum used to say that when she washed it in the summer she would sit in a deck chair with it hanging over the back to dry. She also always wore black.

Lovely morning here, so getting the washing done and dusted! My Granny was a very active lady right up till she died, and wore the same sort of clothes as the rest of us! I always remember her swimming and cycling, (with me) walking miles! gardening for England, as well as bottling fruit making chutney and cooking brilliant meals, dress making, upholstery and endless other activities. I think she very much thought that Satan found mischief for idle hands!! Her sisters were the same. She came through two world wars so I suppose that's what made her generation so self reliant. I think, judging from old photos, that my g.g.granny wore black with one of those little bun hats with ribbons! That was in about 1900 though. Son has just rung so better go an have a chat with him!

HERE I AM, Good morning all, Evening Kim,
Jane that was a prearranged "PLANE CRASH" in Kettering, I heard it on the local radio yesterday morning.
I didn't bother popping in yesterday, as I am sure you are all getting fed up with my tails of woo about my knee. As I don't do much, there's not a lot to say.
Ros has almost finished with the box's, I think there is one to go. Then we have to sort out what paintings/pictures are going back on the walls.
Spoke with Harvey yesterday. He told me he had a phone call from LEWIS at 4.30 am Sunday morning to ask if he could pick him up. He had been to Bedford with his friends to a nightclub, and they needed a lift home. I wouldn't have liked to have been in the car on the way home :-( :-( :-( :-( I doubt he will do that again.
Ann, the bracelet looks very nice, and something you can wear.
Pleased to hear your dog is O.K. Anne, and the vet bill wasn't to expensive.
Mandy, how long will it take for your nephew to be able to work again. So Max is behaving himself, and doing as he is told. GOOD BOY !!!!
Lots of rain about yesterday, but this morning the wind has blown the clouds away and we have sunshine. Ros has changed the bed again today, so should dry in this breeze.
I am going to try to walk round the block again today, it will be nice to get some fresh air, and give my knee a bit more exercise, not that it doesn't get enough already. ;-) ;-) ;-)
See you all later.

Yes s, thanks Mel for the pics and, Ann too. Just met the lab from up the road out for a walk with his Mum!! He was off the lead and so good and quiet that I asked if they'd drugged him!!! Apparently he's just very docile and obedient and has been since they had him at 9 weeks, he's now 5 months! Cas danced round showing off and being quite silly! Chutney pounced on her a few times but went back to his Mum the moment she called him. I think he's the sort of puppy that would be chosen to train as a guide dog, or a helping dog. They're probably going to have him professionally trained as a gun dog, certainly put Cas to shame with her antics!! OH is out for the afternoon, so I'm going to sort out some family photos and put them in an album. Son's coming over next week to borrow OH's cement mixer! He's laying a brick path at his house and it needs securing! Another large supper!!

Afternoon all,
Its been a really lovely sunny day ,got a few jobs done in the garden and had a hair cut this afternoon.
Mel those deer look so at home in your garden don't they , i suppose its nice and quiet with nothing to disturb them and free apples to eat too .
Mel have a look on www. redtedart . com there's a few pom pom ideas on there i love the fairy garland and the little snowman with his head phones on .
Oh Liz how good is that little lab five months and walking off the lead with mum ,i haven't had Max off the lead yet i think i would be frightened he would would take off .
Frank i would think my nephew will be off work for quite a few months ,he has walked a few steps round the ward and was absolutely tired out after doing it so i think it's going to be a long job. Oh i bet Lewis was in the dog house , i bet his poor dad was worried to get a call from him at that time in the morning , although better to do that then try to get home on his own though.
Lovely dry out today ,the linen smells so nice when you bring it in .

Afternoon All
Love Tatiana in her little knitted coat.It fits perfectly :-D..You did a good job there Mandy :-D The pics of the Deer were lovely Mel.They must be quite used to seeing you around and not be frightened.
Oh Oh Lewis!!.. Frank how far is Bedford from where Lewis lives? I take it he and his friends had spent all their money and couldn't afford a taxi!I bet there was a real awkward atmosphere in the car on the way home LOL
Liz that is very good of the little 5 month old Chutney to walk to heel and go back to the owner straight away when called......Love the name Chutney :-D :-D
We have had the most horrendous downpour this afternoon. Just as I set off to Asda :-S..Lots of motorists had pulled over to the side of the road as it was so bad.
Frank,I thought your pictures were back up on the walls.Or was it just the big ones?
I have been catching more of those blasted spiders again :-S.Most are fairly small now but there are still far too many hanging around :-| :-|

Twice in a day !!! Have had a quiet day apart from loading Ros's car up with all the box's. She was going to Towcester, so dropped them off at the tip.
Jane the lads got part the way home by taxi, and they got dropped at a friends house, the other lads lived in that village. I assume he didn't have enough money on him for a taxi home. He must remember to take extra cash out with him. !!
Liz, that Lab sounds a little darling. I bet him and Cas will become good friends over the weeks to come, if you see each other on regular basis.
Yes Mel those photo's are smashing, you are so lucky having all this wildlife around you. All we seem to see are starlings, apart from the little Robin that follows Ros around the garden. We keep the feeders filled with Suet and seed. So I expect the birds come when I am not looking.
Meat with onion and potatoes done in gravy in the over tonight Veg of various kinds. It will be ready about 6.00 pm.
Ros has offered to take me to the pub tonight to watch Liverpool V Manchester United, should be a good hard fort game. I had better get down early to get a seat and a stool for my leg.
Enjoy the rest of your evening. See you in the morning.
