Victorian Slum was much better tonight imo! Poldark was a real cliff hanger last night, don't know whether you've seen it yet Mel so I'll say no more!!
We're in bed now watching Newsnight.

Morning All

What a dark morning.I think it may be raining a little .Hopefully it will clear away.
I sitting in bed having my first cuppa trying to muster up the enthusiasm to get up .I need to wash my hair before I go to have a lovely Eye and facial treatment.James bought me a voucher for the salon for my birthday and I almost forgot I still had it .So this will be a nice treat for me later this morning :-D :-D

I must watch the Victorian Slum as I still haven't seen the first one. Chris has seen both.
See you later.

.

Good morning all, Evening Kim,

Woke up to rain and black clouds, then sunshine, now black clouds again.

Have lost one posting this morning.

Ros has got the conservatory clear and back to normal, just the lounge table to sort out. She was hoping to get in the garden, but that looks a no no.!!!

I walked down to the pub last night to see the match. RUBBISH from start to finish. Ros picked me after the match.

I have recorded Victorian Slum, so will watch thatos is out.

Afternoon all,

We have lovely sun shine now but it poured just after breakfast ,i have hung my washing out as there is quire a good blow so they should take long to dry .
Been down to the unit where the chap who has a market stall sells his fruit and veg ,you get lovely fresh fruit and veg at market prices , you do need to wrap up well as its all in a cold store ,but you can wonder round with your basket and just help your self , i got a huge head of the dirty fen celery which we love with cheese and crusty bread for our lunch
I bought carrots, parsnips, onions, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, two lots of grapes one lot for the children ,apples and small oranges ,all the for just ten pounds .

Hope you enjoy your facial and eye treatment Jane ,i've never had one my self but i should imagine it feels nice and even better you don't have to pay for it.

Frank you did very well walking to the pub last night , your getting there well done !!
Hope your not feeling to stiff today after all the walking .

Still no Gill , i do hope all is well with her and the family .

Afternoon Mandy and All.

That was a very good buy for all those fruit and veg. We use to go down to Spalding to buy Veg, and bring it home to freeze. MIL and FIL would buy all their apples, wrap and store in trays, they would last throughout the winter.

It's turned out nice now. I can hear a mower going, when I looked out it is Ros doing the back lawn. The sun through the conservatory is very warm on my face and body. I am sitting in my trousers !! Don't get excited <3 <3 <3 <3

The walk last night was great, but am I suffering today.!! Ros had to help me dress this morning after my shower, then I had to sit for an hour before my shave.

Minced beef in onion gravy, mash, cabbage and runners (Almost the last ones)and peas and carrots for dinner tonight. Not that we will need it, as we had a tray of mixed seafood's with warm bread and butter, followed by a JAM and cream doughnut ;-) ;-)

Ros has put up very few paintings/pictures. What she will do with the rest I don't know. There are at least 15 on or around the table.

Afternoon Everyone

Mandy I did enjoy my beauty treatment. It is so relaxing .I had my eyebrows tidied too.I only had to fork out £2 as the price just went over the amount on my voucher. I know soon I will be asked what I would like for Xmas by James and Hannah ,and I know for certain another voucher will be just pefect :-D...It is nice to be pampered once in a while.

That was good to managed to walk to the Pub last night Frank. It must be doing your knee good even if you have to suffer the next day .
The sun was like it was with you here .I actually had to draw the curtains here in the lounge as I couldn't see .It was just so bright. It did make me clean a couple of windows though.Thomas was stretched out in the warmth by the patio window after eating a mouse .

Mandy that was a really good amount of fruit and veg for a great price.BARGAIN :-) especially as you can choose your own.I never like it on some stalls where the stall owner won't let the customer pick the veg and fruit themselves.I am quite fussy and always like to have a good inspection :-D..In the past I have found too many bruised and soft things in the bottom of the paper bags :-S

Did OH have his ears done Mandy?. Or is it next week? I have my appointment on the 27th for this Injection into my hip joint.I have to say I am beginning to get a bit nervous about it all.Apparently it can become even more painful for a few days before any relief.Chris will come with me .That will be a first !!.I am normally quite happy to go on my own for things. But I don't know if I will be allowed to drive afterwards.

There seem to be a fair number of flies being very annoying in the house. It must be the mild weather .There is always one hanging around in the kitchen :-S
I saw 2 Ladybirds too yesterday on one of the windows.

Fitz is coming up for lunch tomorrow. He is doubled up with pain with his Arthritis and a touch of Sciatica .Poor old soul. His hands are the worst around all the knuckles.

The clouds are scudding across the sky at a fair old rate.I think the Blue Sky is gradually disappearing now.

The sun was so warm through the conservatory windows it got like a sauna in here this afternoon ,we nipped to the tip to take a bit of garden rubbish luckly i got the washing in before we went which was good as there were some huge spots of rain when we were out.

Obviously that walk was just a bit to much yesterday Frank if your feeling it today .
The fruit and veg was a bargain , we know its nice and fresh as Colins brothers daughters partner works there ,he goes to Covent Garden to get stock several times a week ,he starts about four in the morning .

Yes Jane Colin had his ears done on saturday ,in fact this morning he had a lettercome through for his next appointment in April.
Glad you enjoyed your treatment , thats some thing a bit different for a presant, i do
think it gets harder each year to find things to buy for people

I was thinking about your injection this morning wondering when it was that you go, thats good Chris is going with you ,you might not feel like driving after .
It's funny you should mention the ladybirds we had a couple come in and I've seen a
few outside too Max was trying to eat one yesterday !!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Oct 2016 20:37

I hav'nt seen a ladybird here since the spring and then it was only one. Do you remember the year we had an explosion of ladybirds, they were everywhere.

That was a nice present from James Jane and I don't blame mentioning it for a Christmas present too. It sounds like you really enjoyed it.

Has anyone ever had a pedicure??

Did my shopping and came home and put it all away and then made a pom pom.

Mandy how many of your granchildren are girls please?? I can't remember if there are 3 or 4......silly me.

Evening All,

First thanks Mel for the lovely deer pics, you really are privileged to have such lovely wildlife in your garden. As for Tatiana in her smart 'tank top' knitted by Mandy......I did have a giggle, but what a good fit you got Mandy.....Well done! :-)

On the subject of 'knits' I looked those Nudiknits too Mandy and had a right chortle!! The detail is brilliant and the video made me laugh!

I got soaked to the skin yesterday on a walk around the park with the ice house. OH was nice and dry in his many layers and as usual I was in a short sleeve top not to be too hot. Once the rain stopped I got a nice pic of a rainbow so will see if I can remember to send it on.

Jane I have never had such pampering and it sounds really nice and relaxing! I don't think anyone could do much with my eyebrows now. :-S They are quite sparse, white and what's left is trying to imitate Dennis Healey so I try to leave them invisible!! Poor Fitz sounds as if he is suffering just now with his painful hands. Does he take any medication for it?

I bet young Lewis will try not to ring his parents to get picked up again Frank!! I bet on the way back in their car you could cut the air with a knife!! It's good you managed a walk and I expect it will make your knee protest a bit, but with a bit of rest you can do it again! :-)

I am enjoying Poldark more now as well as The Victorian Slum. I've said it before that younger folk, ourselves included don't know what real hardship is. There is very little true poverty these days, yet the way the word is bandied around by some is an insult really when you see what hardship could be suffered by people in those times. Not being able to afford what you would like isn't poverty, not being able to work, having no support, not being able to afford any kind of food, not having a bed to lay on, not being able to work is poverty.

I'm going to see my friend's Maine Coon kitten, Rupert, on Thursday and want to take him a little toy......any ideas??

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Oct 2016 22:35

Ann I am the same as you with eyebrows. Oh always says I hav'nt got any. Mine are very fair whats left of them except a couple of very dark ones that grow very long and I pluck those out.

A catnip mouse always goes down well wiith any cat but some can make a mess if punctured! One of those feathers dangling on a stick is good too. I saw in Morrisons today a laser mouse cat toy. It must shine a red dot which a cat could chase.

I would like the Poldark dvd's for Chrittmas. I looked in Morrison's today and they had Victoria but not Poldark. They are online though.

Oh had such a job to dowonload my pictures and looked for a thing online for my camera but said they had everything but an S9100 so I think I may be getting another new camera for Christmas. I did'nt think my one was that old!!

Morning all,

Bit cloudy this morning but I am hoping it will brighten up a bit later on.

HW today.......I need to have a tidy up with all my craft bits and pieces as they seem to have overtaken my desk etc. Everywhere needs a good dust and hoover so you know what I shall be doping today.

Calm down Frank and try again...

I am now spiderless in the kitchen and there are no cobwebs YET. Had a good go and now I only have the hall and bedroom to hoover and half the uti room. Done a load of washing and it is nearly dry outside as there's a soft breeze but it has come over a little cloudy now.

We,ve had lunch and now I am going to have a little fiddle with my craft projects while I still have quite a good light.

Annx

Annx Report 19 Oct 2016 16:19

Afternoon All,

That's a nuisance Frank! Try again a bit later.

It's quite sunny here, so I have set the washer going to see if it knocks with a load in! I had a look at some washer dryers in Curry's yesterday.........utterly bewildering....and they were mixed in with the washers so I had to look at the lot. I'm non the wiser now. :-S In the end I went and looked at the stick rechargeable hoovers and then the cameras. lol

We had a letter this morning to say they are digging the road up down our bit of the close again........this time for electricity for the new places they are building. I can't believe the builder built our places without keeping any record of where the mains services were in the road. The road will be a patchwork quilt with all this digging! They were delivering bricks with a massive lorry at 7.30am this morning and the engine was revving for 40 minutes using the winch to lift the bricks down.

I've just dusted and hoovered over half the lounge and moved and done under the settees, (can I find the leather treatment cream.....NO!) cleaned one of the windows inside and done the mirror and a door with glass panes. Now I'm boiling and pooped so I'm having a break before I disturb OH at the dining table end as he's doing notes and seems to need the whole of the opened up dining table. I'm boiling and he's freezing and to make a point he went and put all his hats, scarf and fingerless gloves on. lol. I might finish off tomorrow!!

I saw some of those laser pointer things in Sainsbury's this morning Mel and nearly got one. In the end I got a little mouse that squeaks and has a flashing light when you move it. I don;t expect the battery will last long though!!

Jane Report 19 Oct 2016 17:08

Afternoon all from a rather squiffy me..A long lunch with Fitz and Chris and far too much wine :-S...But it was nice :-D.Lots of good old chat ,laughs and putting the world to rights.Fitz has been put on Valium to help with his pain .I think it is making him a little bit chilled out lol. We have sent him off with a walking stick to try and help him out with the bad hip pain .I explained he had to use the stick on the opposite side to his bad side.So he had a bit of parade up and down the lounge to get the hang of it LOL. I wish I had videoed it .It was so funny.

So more upheaval in the close then Ann :-S...It is all peaceful here at the moment .Whatever they have been doing in the field at the top of the lane has come to a standstill. So no noise today :-D

Those laser pointer Mouse things are great for cats .I have one for Thomas.

Hope all goes well Frank at the Drs

Good evening all

It sounds as though you had a good lunch today Jane ,Fitz sounds like really good company. Hopefully the medicine helps to relieve his arthritis

Hope you got on OK at the Doctors Frank.

Loved the photos of the Mum and baby deer Mel they must feel safe on your land.
Your chicken looks so good in her coat that Mandy made, with the weather getting chilly she must feel nice and cosy.

We also enjoyed watching the Victorian Slum it's so clever how they have recreated the living conditions. We are going to watch The Missing at 9o/c

Mandy our hairdresser came today she showed us a photo of a 2 week old Hungarian Vizsla that's she is getting at the end of November, she is naming her Aggie, she already has an older one called Luna.
