Sounds good Liz I.m coming to yours......
Its just too windy here to do anything outside and the suns gone now so feeling rather chilly. I have to wash up and then I may finish my box. Or I may do it round the other way as I will have more light if I do it now.

You'd be very welcome Mel, particularly as OH is doing the cooking!! We're just about ready, so afterwards we can get Merlin in, take Cas for her last run, then look forward to Poldark!

Afternoon Everyone Finally we have lit the Woodburner this afternoon......I am now sweltering lol.But it nice to see it lit once again. Funny smell from it though.I think it might be the glue burning off from where the new rope bit was fitted around the door.I am sure it will burn off soon. Frank, Lewis is at the age when life is too busy and exciting to think about anyone else.I know he still loves you though. :-D
I see on FB that Kim's little Grandaughter Sophie is very poorly in hospital :-( :-(. Something to do with her bowels and allergies to foods I think. What a worry for them all.Hopefully she will recover soon and be home again .
It was funny here earlier .Jess spotted Thomas coming up the garden with a mouse in his mouth. She raced out to save the mouse.Got Thomas to drop it and after a few minutes of the mouse lying flat out on its back it came round and ran for the hills. So Jess was happy........I daren't tell her that Thomas went back out and waited by the spot where the mouse ran to and that he caught it again and ate it !!!!!!!! :-S Jess was also barefoot when she ran out on to the patio and managed to step on the inners of a previous mouse !! That will teach her LOL.
Have just got the oven on and put Roast Pots with Garlic ,Lemon and Thyme in.They are just done in a few tablespoons of Olive Oil.Then once they are done I will do the Chicken Breasts with Olive and Tomato drizzle stuff. The Veg is oven Baby Courgettes,Baby Carrots and Baby Leeks. All prepared now so I can relax for a bit.
I went to TKMax this morning and got a couple of little Xmas presents.I really have no idea what to get anyone at the moment (am hoping for ideas).
It is the 2 yr anniversary of James's friend Johnny's death today :-(..For some reason I thought it was 3 yrs. Johnny's Happy Place is doing so well .It is open every Saturday and Sunday for anyone who fancies dropping in.People with Mental Health problems,Homeless or whoever.I think Johnny's Mum ,Sister and friends have managed to do an amazing thing and are helping so many vulnerable people.I think they deserve some kind of an Award for all the work that has been achieved in such a very short time. James has spoken to Johnny's Mum today and he will go and see her in the week.
How is Amy Anne? I am keeping my fingers crossed that she gets better <3

I think we are all wishing Amy better and sending love and wishes.
Poor Kim and family. It is always a worry when a little one is ill and I hope she recovers quickly and can get back to her family. <3 <3
Funny about the mouse Jane. I had to laugh because if Thomas did'nt get it today he would have caught it another day. I have a wood mouse who feeds on my bird table during the day and night.
I have shut everything away and fed the hogs have the cheese and biscuits nearly ready and looking forward to Poldark tonight. I think we only have two more episodes, boo hoo. Why can't we have more episodes all at once please.

Blooming X FACTOR is on, Not for me. I have read the paper, so that'd out too. . Conrad called this evening, he has been on the roof sunbathing in 25 degrees. Carolyn rang this morning complaining of the heat in Tenerife. No pleasing some people.
Ros has cleared a load of rubbish from the garden. There are TWO big bags of rubbish to go into neighbours green bins.
I have been sending messages to Kim and her daughter today. It seems the daughter knocked the drip from her daughters nose. The nurses are taking tests every half hour, which the daughter isn't happy about. I told her they are doing it for her daughter health check.
I spoke with Lewis this evening. As you say Liz, they have a lot of other things on their minds other than G'Parents. He has just bought himself a new i phone and a new case for it plus a new pain of Jeans.. I said where do you get all your money ?? He said I save all I earn, I said YES and you spend your Mums and Dads. He just laughed. !!!
Had a nice piece of beef tonight, just enough for the two of us. Might be enough for a sarnie later.

Evening All,
We were woken last night by a mouse gnawing above us in the loft so OH is going to check up there in the morning! It does worry me what they might be chewing up there. :-S
Yes, how is Amy now Anne? Hopefully the medication is making some improvement for her. I'm not really brave at all Anne, but it is a compliment as you say, so I shall agree and probably then be a nervous wreck till I do it!! In my wildest dreams I would never, ever have thought I would even be considering doing things like this at the age I am!!!
Yes, Kim's little grandaughter sounds very poorly, the poor little mite. It must be so scary for her to be in hospital too.
Jane, your hedgehog certainly looks well fed!! lol James is very kind keeping in touch with Johnny's mum like he does. I'm sure it must help her cope, as must the work she now does to help others feeling low in their lives. Poor Jess treading in that barefoot!!
After years of me looking, we have at last found some trays that are non slip to replace our old ones that have cork surfaces! They were using them in a tearoom at a Rutland garden centre we went to today and when we looked at a homeware section in the shop after.....there they were for sale. They were pricey, but should last well so I was chuffed to be able to chuck out the old trays when we got home!! :-) We also got some more mouse traps that are easy to set and will save OH turning the air blue when he nearly traps himself in them!! :-0
OH is always taking the mickey this time of the year (Halloween!). It usually is along the lines of.....'have I ordered my broomstick yet?'......that sort of thing.......or worse, .........'is it a heavy duty one?' :-0 Well he surpassed himself this afternoon while we were riding in the car when he said he'd thought about buying me a mask but thought he didn't need to bother this year and could save himself a pound or two!!!! Then he was chortling away, the cheeky so and so. I told him with that sort of talk he could be coming home from football one day to find he'd been replaced with a toyboy!!! :-) :-) He said he was one, so I said 'a newer one'. lol :-D
I keep waking up late too Mel which isn't good when it's after my tablet time! It should help when the clocks change though. Are you going to send us a pic of your box when it's done? I would like to see it.
Frank, Lewis is a grown man now and has many other things on his mind. Don't expect too much of him.

Good Morning
Thank you for all the good wishes for Amy at the moment she does seem slightly better and sleeps most of the time. I am having problems getting her to take the pills so I am now crushing them between two teaspoons and mixing into her food but there is still a problem as she is still coughing and inclined to bring up what she has eaten.
I have Becky staying with me at the moment as Abbie is spending a week in Dorchester with Aiden and her Mum and stepfather are going to visit his mother in Salcombe, the poor lady isn't at all well.

I am here Mel, BUT BLOO## MAD. I have just lost a very long post.
So you know I am alright, even though not in a good mood.
Had my injection this morning, and the nurse weighed me, I have lost another three pounds. So now down to 12 stone 10 lbs. She's not happy about it, but my BMI is satisfactory. So I have lost 13 lbs in a month or so. I met a chap in the Drs this morning who had his knee replaced 17 months ago, and he is still having pain in his knee, and tripping over door threshold's, when he doesn't lift his feet high enough.
Ros is beavering away in the garden again today, she is now spreading BARK CHIPPINGS where she has cleared. Next thing will be the Blackbirds throwing it over the lawn. ;-) ;-) little darlings :-0 :-0
Sorry Jane I like the look of your bathroom colour, but what colour is it ??? remember I am colour blind. lol.
Ann, It sounds just like Martine. She calls her MIL a witch and keeps promising to buy her a broom !!! I am sure you give as good as you take <3 <3 <3
Anne, pleased that Amy is showing some sign of improvement. Keep giving her all your love and attention, I am sure she will respond.
Didn't have a good night again, and I have forced myself to stay awake today. I think I will get a STRAIGHT JACKET. to stop me moving about in bed. Wishful thinking. I don't think that fall did it much good the other day.
See you all later,

Sent William my pics so here is his reply. I thought you would all like to see it.
Hi Melanie, Thanks for including me in your email, lovely to see your photos. Sorry I've not kept in touch with the thread lately but I do spend a lot of time caring for Carmel who is in a lot of pain and suffering with arthritis these days. I still think of you all and hope everyone is doing alright. I occasionally see something from others on Facebook. Our latest little great grandson is coming on lovely and a while ago we were able to get to Skegness to see Jimmy's widow, Dawn (Carmel youngest son that died.) For the first time in three years we were able to meet our two wonderful great-granddaughters there and get to know them, something that Jim missed out on. We wanted to make sure that Dawn was coping OK and also visit Jim's grave. It took a bit of a toll on Carmel but it was worth doing in the end. Now when we see photos of the girls on Facebook, we can put a character to the photos. Must go, things to be done. Just helped some lady out with her tree on GR, well, hope I have. I was just thinking of the thread this morning when I came out with one of my Dad's old terms, I couldn't think of someones name and called them 'fly-blow Dick' !!! I have just finished reading Len Goodman's autobiography and he originating from Bethnal Green, like my Mum, took me back on many a thing. Best wishes to yourself and all the others. William

Afternoon All I have had a busy day doing housework.A lot of it was washing dirty paintwork. Some of it was so grubby :-S
Mel I love your pics :-D..The dishes you have for the hogs are the same as the one I have for my Hog :-D You have been so busy making all your lovely Halloween and Christmas things.
I will have a look for that pic you have asked for but it may take a long while to see if I still have it on the computer as I have several thousand pics !!!!
Frank that is a lot of weight to lose especially if you are not trying to.I know you haven't had the appetite since your op though. We don't need you fading away.
Anne are tablets for Amy ones that could been given by injection? If so and you are having trouble getting them down maybe the Vet would do the injection instead.(just a thought)I know it can be an absolute nightmare getting tablets into some pets and worrying when you know that they aren't getting 'all of them'.
Ann ,maybe you should buy one of those Childrens Broomsticks from Tesco or one of the other Supermarkets :-D :-D,maybe a Witches hat to with it LOL That would give OH a surprise :-D...I love his sense of humour :-).
I keep thinking about little Sophie(Kim's Grandaughter).I am not sure whether she might be home now . <3
Frank I am not sure how to describe the colour on my Bathroom Wall. I would say it is a greeny/blue .It does look nice.Chris thought it was going to be too dark but it is just right :-D.I just can't wait for the floor to be done now.
Has anyone been to Durham? I am thinking of booking a couple of nights there at the end of January for Chris's Birthday...Just an idea at the moment.
Spanish Meatballs and rice for us tonight.(they look like they could be a tad spicy for my liking)

Evening all,
Nice to hear from William thanks Mel for letting us know how he is doing .
It's been a nice dry day so we have been in the garden doing some tidying up.
Mel i love the Halloween garland you made for the boys , your box looks nice too ,just the right size for putting your craft bits in . I love the misty garden photo .
Glad to hear Amy is a little better ,it's always hard to get tablets into them ,i think its just finding some thing they really like so you can slip them in so they don't notice them, not so good if she's bring them back up though.
Thats quite a bit of weight to lose Frank ,have you been eating less because you have the pain ? Sounds as if Ros has been busy in the garden .
Hope you got the mouse problem sorted Ann , you don't want yhem chewing any wires or such like in the loft .

Evening All,
Lovely pics Mel........the Halloween one is really unusual as well. Yes I'd like to see Mandy's Hogs too. :-) Thanks for sending on William's email and good to know he is ok, even if Carmel isn't so good. Seeing those gt grandaughters will have given them a boost.
Mandy, the new traps are working as one just went off somewhere above my head and OH only emptied a trap this morning so that will be 4 caught now!
Frank that is quite a bit of weight to lose in a month. I expect you've probably lost some muscle after your operation with having to sit more with your knee but it's good the doc is keeping a check.
Anne It must be difficult treating Amy just now but if she keeps some medication down it will be good. Could you try her with it crushed into an oxo cube drink that she could lap up if she likes that? Just an idea.
Durham is on my 'places to go' list Jane! I've nearly made it there once or twice and had plans to maybe stop over on the way to Scotland. I have been told it is very nice. :-D
My throat was finally completely better this weekend after 6 weeks so I am going for my flu jab first thing in the morning and then on to M&S down the road after. I tried to go there this morning, but there were queues into the retail park and no spaces near M&S so I came away. :-S The new Primark has made it busier and there are plans for more expansion, so what with all the house building around here gawd knows what it will be like in a couple of years time!! It's gridlocked at Christmas/New Year anyway.
Off to watch the recorded Slum prog now. :-)

Morning all,
Not bad here this morning but a bit misty moisty first thing I think as its still damp out there now but the sun is trying to shine through.
Oh is pressure washing my car for me as I type ready for shopping today. It has'nt been done for ages. I usually get it washed at the garden center but hav'nt done that the last couple of times we have been.
Box is all nice and dry this morning so I can now store all my felt in it. Oh bought me great packs of the stuff last year for Christmas and I have only started on one pack out of four!!!!
