Evening All,

Frank you will have to watch where you are treading with all this tripping. It's aggravating your knee each time it happens. I'm not surprised you are worried about losing weight, but worry can make you lose weight too so try not to too much. I expect the doctor will get more tests done if it becomes a concern. My word you've done well with your xmas shopping!! I've only bought one present yet. We've both felt it strange this year not having to think of presents for FIL and MIL.

Thanks for the pics Mandy and Mel and no I didn't get the other pic Mel. Mandy you can certainly tell you have lost that weight. It must be good to be able to wear smaller clothes now! I wish I had more willpower. The girls always look so smiley and happy and the names for the lovely hogs Mel made are really good! :-)

I am like you Mel with crafts and used to make things if I couldn't afford them or upcycle old ones. I also liked making things because you could often make things that were nicer than what you could buy.

I met up with my sister for a chat and lunch today at a garden centre her side of the city. She has a new car, but is finding it not as good for her mobility scooter as the last one. We then had a look at the christmas things as they always have some different ones at this garden centre, but I remembered how many boxes of stuff we already have and resisted!! My sister bought a few things.

Well we discovered why the 2 new traps we bought last year hadn't caught any mice!! OH had only forgotten to remove a tab that covered the bait before he set them!!! lol. These 2 had been put in the garage in the hopes of catching the mice before they got to the loft:-)lol. OH checked the loft this morning Jane and no more had been caught.

I'm off to watch the GP prog we recorded now. I missed the puppy prog so will watch that on the iplayer tomorrow.

Morning both and all,

Well I am a lazy bones as I got up at 11am. Oh is out mowing. You should see all the leaves on the ground this week while we have had cold nights. The colours this year are unbelievable, so many russets and yellows and red in just the garden alone. We al;so still have apples on the trees.

Hav'nt seen the deer now for over a week which seems strange to us. I did hear a rifle shot one night about 10.25pm from over the big house way. I know that the BIL and sister of the man who owns it had one deer shot because it kept coming in their garden. You also have to have a special man come who has a licience to shoot deer.

Dull here today after a moisty start. Well it was last night while I was looking at the hogs in the garden. The Christmas tree looked wonderful. I think it must have turned its needles up a bit and they had the heavy dew on them and the light over the patio was shining one it and it loked like it had snow on the ends of the branches. If I had taken a photo it would'nt have come out.

I was also marveling at the amount of lovely spider webs on the gazebo type thing around the back door patio which also stood out in the light and it was so still last night you could see every strand of them.

Morning all, evening Kim,

Nice morning here, the sun is starting to warm the air.

I have a newish neighbour at the bottom left of the garden. I expect he's my sort of age. He has been lopping branches of the cherry tree on his side of the fence, and offered to come round and do mine. He's here now, and what a difference he is making. Ros will have a big job cutting up the branches and getting them in the bin, plus the neighbours.

Ros has been putting Bark chippings on the garden she has cleared. She has found where the hog is coming under the fence. She is going to move his/her box to a new site by the tunnel under the fence, Might save all his droppings on the patio. I will have to feed him done there now.

She is at a meeting this morning and choir practice tonight, so I hope she has a day off from the garden, but I won't hold my breath. She has just walked in and gone to change.

Meet another guy last night who has had his knee replaced. He is in the same boat as me. !!!! So it looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get on with it. !!

My old "friend" was black with a little white bib, his fur was a bit ginger at this time of year.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Oct 2016 12:52

I remember the pics you sent of your old friend Frank. I bet having the tree cut back both sides has let more light ino the garden. Nice of the man to come round and do it for you.

Many moons ago we had a cat called Marmite Mel! She was a stray and bequeathed to us by daughter! She was black and in the sun looked brownish like yours and such a sweet natured little girl. Unfortunately she died of cancer aged, the vet reckoned, about 7. I was so upset that I vowed never to have another cat, and I haven't.
Foggy here first thing, then sunny, then foggy again!! We've had the hedge cut between us and the field outside our back door. They've taken it down quite tightly, and the amount of light its let into the kitchen is substantial!!!

Frank Report 27 Oct 2016 13:57

Hi Liz,

Ros is down the garden sitting on her little stool, cutting up the branches, there are loads of them. I can see next Monday evening she will be going round the neighbours green bins filling them up with bags of cuttings.

My screen keeps turning blue, so must be careful that I don't delete the page, by hitting a key while it is blue.

Have caught up with Bake Off, and was pleased who won it. She has been very good throughout the series .

Clouded over here now, so I think we can say goodbye to the sun.

Jane

Jane Report 27 Oct 2016 16:34

I bet you are pleased with the extra light in the kitchen Liz.We are very lucky here as every room in the house get loads of light. All the windows are large and there are so many which is good except when it comes to having t o clean them .

I hope the Deer hasn't been shot Mel :-(.It does sound a bit suspicious though seeing that you heard gunshot and the fact you haven't seen the Deer for a while.

So a handy and helpful neighbour Frank :-D..That is good :-D.He sounds a nice man.

My hospital appointment was good.I was in 10 minutes before the actual appointed time and out within 15 minutes. NO INJECTION :-D :-D. I will have another appointment for 6months time, but if my hip or stiffness gets worse I can ring a helpline number and go for an intramuscular steroid injection(without having to go back through the GP ) My BP rocketed again.Higher than last time !!.It was 202 /95 !!!!!!!!
But Chris has just re done it for me now I am home and it is right down to 131/71 :-D :-D
It was chaos with parking.Loads of cars all backed up waiting to get into the top car park. The bottom one was full and bollarded off.I suppose it was visiting hours which made it worse.
Time for another cuppa .We have just had one and it hardly touched the sides. The Rheumatology Department was so hot and stuffy.

I think it feels quite chilly now so will go and put on a warmer top.I just wore a loose short sleeve top to the hospital so it was easy for the BP to be done.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Oct 2016 17:20

Jane I am pleased you did'nt need the injection. Its such a worry before they tell you.
Good to know too that if anything gets worse you can go straight to the hospital.

I have had one half of the kitchen out today cleaned all three windows and chucked a lot of junk that had buil up. Small bits of jam left in jars and honey, collected all the silver paper together for the recycling and generaly had a good clean up. It looks so nice but I wonder for how long??

Just having a COT and piece of Em's cake she made us and then it will be chicken time and hog feeding and getting dinner. I have a chicken crown out to do with roast veg and lemon. Nice and easy.

Evening all,

Another nice sunny day , i now let Max out and the sky was so pretty , dark sky with red clouds from the setting sun ,i took a photo but it didn't do it justice you could judt make ouf the red clouds .
No dog training tonight ,had a phone call from Debbie to say she wasn't feeling well so she had to cancell .

Frank ,Colin is doing well still using the one crutch as the surgeon told him ,the muscle in his leg gives him a little pain now and then .
When your in bed have you tried a pillow just under your knee to give it a little support,i think BIL does that and finds it does help ,it just stops the knee from laying sstraight out .

Jane that was good ,no injection , i bet you were relieved when they said that , good that you can go straight back to the hospital though if you need to without having to go through the doctor again .
I bet everyones BP goes up when they go to hospital ,glad yours has settled now your home.

Oh Mel i hope your lovely deer haven't been shot , i hope they turn up soon.

So Max has a night off tonight then .You too :-).Hopefully the lady will be well by next week for the next lesson.
Yes a relief not to have that injection. If I had said yes then it would have been done then. I shaved my legs too today just in case I had to expose them LOL .So that was a waste of time but at least I have nice smooth legs now :-D :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Oct 2016 10:04

Morning Mandy and all,

Love the new pic Mandy of baby Max.

Dull here today but not that cold and we have NO wind and its as calm as a mill pool out there.

I must wash my glasses as they are really dirty with all the things I have been doing.

We did'nt have the chicken crown and roast veg in the end last night as oh came in and said "toasted cheese sandwiches" which is what I ended up doing I am very gratefull to say after all the work I did yesterday.

Man coming this afternoon about a new back door. We had this one in the 1990's and the door handle flops down and sopmetimes it dos'nt shut unless you lift it up. They say there are no parts for the door I have as its obsolete.
