It's been a long day for Fitz then Jane. Hopefully he is in recovery by now. My friend is off to the NEC tomorrow after beading.......without me though this time! I never seem to have enough stamina or 'knee' to get round everything. There are some art classes going in the part we go to but they are mixed in with all the other crafts. We've no idea how long the builders will be here. We've heard that the first bungalow is sold and the chap will be moving in later this month but we can't see how! It still needs rendering on the outside and the drive and garden are just mud and there's no door on the garage yet. They are working on the inside of the house now but haven't even started on the second bungalow yet. If it's anything like when he built our 4 bungalows he needed the dosh from the sale of ours to be able to carry on with the last 2.
That's a great idea to get an Amaryllis bulb for Sandra Mandy. As you suggest, she certainly won't be bored waiting for it to grow!! :-) At least it's good the GP doesn't think Colin's hip is out. If he'd been more concerned I expect he'd have sent him to hospital straightaway. He'll have to be extra careful till he has the xray won't he.
An early night for me now as I didn't sleep till after 2.00am this morning.

Fitz is out of recovery and on a new ward now. I will be going in to visit at 2.30 tomorrow.Chris will drop me off and then pick me up an hour later as where the ward is it will be impossible to park and it is a LONG way from the main car parks. If my hip was behaving I would be happy to walk that distance, but it is a bit dicky today(must be the cold weather)

Now I have itchy eyes and ears right down low where you can't reach and throat. I hope its all this in one go and it will be gone soon.

Did'nt mean to do that, submit.
I thought Fitz was going up first thing this morning not last thing at night. They could'nt get him much nearer to being in there a week for an emergency case than late on Thursday afternoon. Hope he is feeling much better now and the op does the job for him. It must have been so frightening when it happened. Sending wishes <3 <3

Pleased to hear all went well with Fitz op Jane. Yes it's the big 50 on 23rd November so I'll be saying goodbye to my 40's :-( Sandra was saying today that she hopes we get snow this year. We have bought her a camcorder that she wanted for Christmas and she has said if it snow's we're not to walk on the grass until she has filmed it......bless her <3
Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather Mel, it sounds a bit like a bug I had the other week, I felt terrible from around 5am in the morning until the following afternoon, then it went as quickly as it arrived. Hope yours is just a 24 hour bug too and you feel better tomorrow.
Off to bed now, we've been taking Sandra out a lot recently so plenty of early mornings and late nights which we're all feeling the effects of now. We've been shopping a lot and bought Sandra all sorts for her bedroom which she is made up with and tomorrow we are taking her to a firework display near Chester, hope it doesn't rain, she is really looking forward to it. Good job we checked the date yesterday while we were out as we thought it might of been on Saturday night with that being the 5th, but apparently there is a big firework display on in Liverpool so where we are going decided to have theirs tomorrow instead. If we hadn't of checked and turned up on Saturday we'd have missed it.
Well, I'd better go OH has fallen asleep on the sofa and I'm pretty tired now too. Night Night

Afternoon all,
Well there is a lot going on on here, what with sickness, operations, Hip problems etc. It sounds like we all need to put into "A SACK" and shaken up, and see if we come out any better. ;-) ;-) ;-) Hope you are all feeling better soon.
You are the baby of the "FAMILY" on here Gill. I would love to be fifty again, and have the energy I had then.
I have told Ros NOT to buy me anymore beer for me to drink at home. I was finding that because it's there it's so easy to open ANOTHER ONE and before the evening was out I had drunk SIX CANS. For the passed three days that I have stopped, I am not getting out for the toilet at night, and feeling better in myself. So I will only have a beer when I do to the pub. What a good boy I am !!!!
Miserable morning here. Very damp (we have had rain) and it looks blooming cold out there.
Ros is on the phone to a Doctor from the Surgery. She has been having "WATERWORKS" problems, and has given THREE samples. When she has rung for the results they say. The nurse will ring you. This hasn't happened, so she is having a strong word with the Doctor. It seems to be going on and onnnnnnnn.!!!! She has just come of the phone. It appears she has a water infection, and needs ANTI-BIOTICS. which she can collect later today. Why should you have to make a scene before something is done ????
"PADDY" has got me a ticket for "WEST HAM V NORTHAMPTON" for next Tuesday evening. I hope there aren't many stairs to our seats. or I will be in a mess.!!!!

I hope there are not too many stairs for you too Frank. You will enjoy seeing your team play if you can get to your seats.
Have taken a paracetamol, just the one and am feeling a bit better but I have no energy at all.

Mel, I am thinking of phoning the Stadium to see if they have an area for old crocks like me. Other than that I will have to take my chances. !!!
Had a stumble in the shower earlier. Ros could hear me grunting but didn't venture into the bathroom to see if I was O.K.
Trust Fitz will be in the mood for visitors this afternoon.
Anne, I am thinking of you today my love. Please try to stay strong, and there is nothing wrong in having a good cry. It might help.
Still very cloudy here, I can just see a bit of blue stuff, but not for long I think.
Ros is doing herself a "JACKET POTATO" but I have declined as I wouldn't want any food this evening. Have till to sort what we are going to have. But first a Cup of Coffee.

Mel, take a leaf from my book, and sit with your feet up and watch tele. The programme on at the moment is that girl/woman who gets things from the tip and gets them made into other things and she sells them. She pass's any profit back to the person who owned the item.
I have telephoned the Stadium to ask about where I could sit. She said there will be plenty of seats, so I can go down the front by the touch line. My friends can go in the stands and we can meet up after the match. So that will be much easier for me.
Hairdryer buzzing away, so I have come out of the way, as I can't hear the T.V.
Hope all our "SICK" friends all progressing ;-) ;-) Rib Eye Steaks tonight with all the trimmings including Pepper sauce. I have done the mushroom, onions, cut big tomato's, and Ros has done the chips.
See you later.

Just back from visiting duties.WE managed to get a parking space eventually right near the ward so Chris came in too.Fitz looks very good, but what I am so shocked about is that they wanted him out tonight or at the latest by midday tomorrow !!!!!!!! It is only just 24 hrs since his major op.I think it will be tomorrow and he will ask his youngest Son and wife who will be up from London to collect him.His eldest son and wife are going to a wedding tomorrow and Georgette has baby Ottilie for the day and night. Now she will have Fitz to look after. We think this is too much to ask really and if they had any thoughts they would not go to the wedding or at least take Baby with them. But as I said it is none of our business so we must keep our noses out and bite our tongues :-D.Fitz is not to lift anything over 3kilos for 3 months and no heavy physical stuff. No driving for at least 4/5 weeks but he needs to check with his insurance before he gets behind the wheel. I don't think his OH will be taking time off work so he will be on his own all day(hopefully she will at least have a couple of days off to at least make sure he is safe and can do all the things he needs to. We did say to make sure if he is on his own to at least have his phone with him at all times.I will go down on Monday and see how things are. He has staples in his back for 2 weeks ,a list of excercises to do as long as your arm and lots of instructions as to how long to sit (no more than 20 mins) in an upright seat. No sofa sitting or lying . He is going to be so cheesed off . He said how was he going to get into his wine cupboard as he has to bend and crouch to get in (under the stairs) LOL.
So footie for you on Tuesday then Frank.I am glad you found out about the seating .That will be agood night out for you :-D :-D and will no doubt do you the world of good. Sorry Ros has a UTI. That can make you feel really rotten. Poor Mel,you do sound rough :-(..It sounds much worse than a normal cold with all your aching joints and eyeballs. Almost bordering Flu.But then if it was proper flu you wouldn't be able to get out of bed.Just take things easy and keep on top with paracetamol and lots of fluids.Hopefully by the end of the weekend it will have cleared.
Sandra is going to love her Camcorder .I keep fingers crossed she gets the snow :-D Enjoy the fireworks tonight.I reckon there will be some going off tonight around here as there are a couple of big venues tomorrow night. I must try and call Thomas in soon. I am st at the dining table and looking out the window is a beautiful Crescent Moon :-)..It's going to be chilly I think tonight although today it hasn't been to bad.
Mandy how is Colin's hip today?I hope it is no worse now and has settled down.
I expect Anne will be feeling sad and lost without Amy today. Thinking of you Anne <3 <3 My Sister might have to be making the same decision on her dog Riley soon :-(
James is of to Jess tonight. They are going to Brighton for the day tomorrow so I need to get his dinner done so he can eat and then go.

Evening all,
It's been a nice dry day we even saw a little sun for a while this morning but it's been a bit on the chilly side .
You do sound bad Mel , all you can do is keep taking the tablets and have plenty of fluids and i hope you'll soon be feeling better .
Colin has had his xray appointment come through ,it's next thursday the 10th Nov ,he said the pain has eased so i wonder if he had pulled a muscle ,he did clean the wood burner out and leant over to get to the grate so he might have reached to far down.
Sorry to hear Ros has a water infection that can be very painful hopefully the antibiotics will help to clear it up. So a footie match to look forward too next week then Frank ,it will be good for you to get out of your four walls and its good they seats so you won't have to stand with your bad knee.
Gill what a good job you checked the date for the fireworks poor Sandra would have been so disappointed to have missed them.
Jane thats very quick for Fitz to come home the poor man must still be recovering from the anesthetic !! he was still in threatre at this time yesterday !!
Been thinking of Anne today <3

O thats not on sending Fitz home so soon after his op. They kept him waiting long enough surely they can keep their eye on him for anothe rday or two.
Thinking of our Anne at this sad time.xx <3
I have been fiddling with another craft project this afternoon inbetween blowing my nose. I have glue all over my fingers. Oh came out ezrlier and asked if I had been glue sniffing again.....It did stink and even I could smell it and that was saying something and when I looked I had left the top off the glue. They are so sweet........
I hope thas is a pulled muscle for Colin if you say he cleaned the woodburner out that could have caused it. The appointment is not too bad either being on the 10th Mandy. Attishoo sorry I sneezed.
Better get some dinner on now. I don't really feel like anything but have some chicken mini breasts out so will do those with some onion and carrot in a chicken and mushroom soup and he can have that with rice. ( pause to blow nose) I may fancy some of that but I am off rice at the moment.

Just had a call from Fitz's OH to say she is going in now to bring him home!!!!.She sounded very angry and stressed :-S....So I don't know what is going on . I can see steam coming out of Chris's ears :-S. I think we all feel it is far too soon for Fitz to be going home . But it is not our worry (even though it is bugging us). I need to get Chris to just let it go as I can see him getting really wound up now !! A stressy evening ahead (me thinks) :-S

Evening All,
My goodness, that does seem hasty to discharge Fitz that quickly Jane. There's barely been time for him to have been to the loo and they don't usually let you out till they've seen things like that are in working order! It's not given his wife chance to sort any arrangements for him coming home. No wonder she is sounding stressed, especially with the baby to care for tomorrow as well.
Mel, it sounds like you have a nasty bug. The one I had recently that I had the bad throat with made me right off my food and have achey joints. It's best to do what you are doing and stay inside and not do too much. I'm afraid any cooking would be something to bung in the oven or microwave. Make sure you are sipping plenty of drinks. You've got me wondering what is 'sweet' now?
That's good you have a seat without needing to climb the stairs Frank. You will enjoy a night out!! :-) Ros must be very uncomfortable with the water infection, hopefully the antibiotics will soon make a difference.
That sounds more promising about Colin's hip Mandy......maybe he did just pull a muscle as they won't be up to strength after his operation yet. Not too long to wait for his xray now either.
Gill I hope Sandra gets her snow and can build a snowman this time too. I am looking forward to some as I'd like to be able to wear my furry (not real) hat. Also to go out with my camera. Not sure how surefooted this car will be in snow, but a bit of weight in the boot should help.
I had the biggest job to squeeze past a big lorry at the end of the close when I went to class this morning. It was parked alongside some of the roadworks barriers right at the end and I could feel I was just touching the kerb on my right to get by. If anything had turned into the close from the right where a tall hedge obscurs the view it would have hit me head on!! We made some bead flowers today to add to a necklace, but I need to make another one yet. It seemed strange not going off to the NEC with my friend after, but I was glad in some ways as my knees and back felt stiff this morning. I think leaning over the table when I was beading didn't help. :-S
I'm off to bed now to watch one of the Phil Spencer progs on Stately homes I recorded. They are very interesting and tell you the history and changes to the houses and the cost of things in today's money.

Here I am wide a wake. I went to bed at 11.00 pm Been having pains in my right side and end up down my leg. They hit my foot like a jack hammer. I have been singing old Irish songs to myself, but couldn't get the words right for "When you were sweet Sixteen" so I came out and put it on google. Then I saw lots of Foster and Alan songs. I will leave those till another time.
Trust you are all tucked up in bed now. Sleep tight.
