Have you stopped feeding your hog Jane?
I have seen my big one and the little one already tonight. The little one has one of those white patches on its right side so if I see one without that it could be another little one.

Mandy I always put something in the food collection cart in Tesco. It might just be a bag of Pasta or some Baked Beans. But every little helps someone. Asda has one too and also one for an Animal Shelter .I put a pet bed in there the other day that I bought for Thomas when he first arrived here ,but never used.
Mel I didn't put any food out last night for the hedgehog.Still no droppings on the Patio so I am assuming he has gone to sleep now.I felt bad about not putting anything out but didn't want to go and buy another pouch of food .I think it has just been the mice eating the food for the last few nights and as I said the other night I don't want to be feeding them LOL. Thomas is in now.He went out at 7 o'clock .I didn't really want him to go then ,but he had been in since about 4. He obviously didn't go far as ,as soon as I opened the back door he appeared :-D..Maybe he felt a bit chilly (or no mice around). So the back door is shut and locked now for the night :-D

It looks like up your part of the country is going to be very cold. We don't look too bad and much warmer than some places. Today is the first day we have had the heating on all day. The boilers turned right down to low.

Dark Angel was very good I will say no more.
All ready for the land of nod, I hope I sleep as well as I did last night.
Have spoken to "PADDY" tonight, he will confirm what time they will pick me up tomorrow morning. The way the forecast is, I think I will need to wrap up in my winter coat and scarf and gloves.
Night Night all.

Good afternoon All
I am feeling a little better today but still have a feeling of loss.
Richard has been home with a heavy cold this last couple of days so it was nice to have some company. Paul wanted to go to Ikea in Reading today so I went along with him it is a fairly new store and amazing values on everything.
We had some really sad news the other day, my great nephew, Jack's eleven year old half brother Harley has just died in a London hospital after being airlifted from Hastings. He had been waiting to cross the road in the correct place when a 69 year old driver on drugs had driven into him. Jack & Harley were the best of friends with less than a year between them and sharing the same dad. so tragic as there are no other siblings on either side. Needless to say the driver has been arrested.

Afternoon Everyone
Glad you are here again Anne <3...Oh my goodness what terrible news :-( :-( I am so very sorry. Poor Jack will be heartbroken losing his Brother .My heart goes out to all your family.I hope this driver gets a very long prison sentence.
I am a bit of a grumpy old mare today.I had a rotten night waking just after 3 and not being able to get back to sleep again.I was watching Victorian Slum at 4am om my laptop in the spare bed. Then I read.I would have come downstairs but didn't want to disturb Thomas as he would have wanted to go out.
Chris went off to get a haircut just after 8.30 and i was going to just stay in bed ,but the Window Cleaners turned up so it was playing hide and seek for a while from them lol. After they left I had a nice bath and watched Jeremy Kyle on the lap top .I propped the laptop on the clothes horse :-D. Fitz then rang and asked if `i was going shopping as he needed some stamps. So I got them and went down to see him when Chris was home.Fitz had cut off his support stockings !!!! as he wanted to wash his feet and he knew he wouldn't be able to get them back on again !!!!.What a silly billy. He had some from when he had his kidney out so I told him to find them and I would help him get them on..He tried making excuses as he didn't want me seeing his feet and toe nails that he said needed cutting lol.But I had none of that nonsense and said did he really need another DVT ??? So stockings on :-D :-D..They are quite a struggle aren't they (for anyone who knows ). They are supposed to be taken off at night and then put on again in the mornings but he won't ask his OH to do them :-S :-S... What a weird relationship :-S :-S I will say no more.
This afternoon Chris took me in to pick my car up .Fingers crossed all is fine again. Then soon Chris is off to a Council Planning Committee meeting as this business of the applictaion to demolish next door to make a road is on the agenda...I have a horrible gut feeling it will be passed.. That is probably making me feel a bit grumpy too. There will be nothing else we can do if it goes through. We put our objections in in writing months ago..I just know my heart will sink into my boots if it gets the go ahead :-(

Frank will need to take a Hot Water bottle with him for the Match . I remember years ago when Fitz's wife went to all The Poppies matches(kettering team) she always took a Hot Water bottle in cold weather :-)
I can't believe it is a whole year already Mandy since you lost your dear Toby !!!!!..Each year just seems to go by faster and faster. I can't remember how many years it is since Chester.I think it must have been 3 yrs this Easter just gone.
Chris was out for lunch today so not eating tonight.James and I have Sausages,Saute Potatoes and Leeks adn Mushrooms.I am having normal Pork Sausages and James will have 3types of Chilli ones.I am cooking them in the same oven dish but the Chilli ones are right at the other end of the dish than my plain ones :-D
Did anyone see Selina Scott on tv this morning with Philip and Holly and the letter that Trump had sent her about 20 yrs ago after she did an interview with him? The letter was shocking :-0 Secret Lives of 4 year olds tonight :-D :-D
I hope you have some food now tonight Mel :-D :-D

Anne I am so sorry to hear your bad news and what a blow it must have been for father and son. My thoughts are with you and all the family in this sad time.
Mandy it dos'nt seem a year since Toby's passing either. It does help if you get a new puppy but it dos'nt take all the sadness away on anniversarys does it?
Yes Jane plenty of food now and all stored away. Oh has his usual chicken Tika curry and I have a chunkey steak pie because they did'nt have any of my minced beef and onion ones left. I really like those ones because they have a lot of meat in them. Oh said I bet you only get two bits of meat in this one and I replyed I bet its two bits of grissle!!!!! I'll let you know who was right.
I followed a huge lorry home again this week and it was full to bursting with those BIG bales of straw. All the 2way from Bideford to Brandis Corner where they usually turn right at the cross way to go towards Holsworthy. He must have had seven at least cars behind him and he pulled in to a layby just before where he would have turned off.
How long have Georgette and Fitz been married Jane?? I can't believe he would'nt let Georgette do his stocking for him. Who usually cuts his toenails??

Evening All,
Just a quick post to let you know we have only just got the internet and phone back. The people digging and laying the water cables managed to slice through our phone cable. They were blaming others and it's been total chaos with 3 BT vans here today as well as all the other bedlam and chunks of the road and pavement cordoned off with holes dug here and there. The man opposite has had more people here to relay some of his block paving where the water lies, so vehicles everywhere the past 2 days. Will catch up with the posts tomorrow as we are having an early night!!

Evening all
Fancy taking Ros's tablets Frank, thankfully you're alright, it could of been much worse. Good idea of Jane's to get different coloured pots, it would save accidents happening again. At least you had a good nights sleep. That's a lot of money for a repair, I don't blame you for getting other estimates. Hope you can get it repaired a bit cheaper. How did the match go today?
I'm the same as you Jane, I hope Trump doesn't become President, he's not a very pleasant man is he? I hope your hip is feeling a bit better today. Pleased to hear Fitz is starting to feel a little better now. That was nice of you to help him, even if he wasn't to keen. Sorry to hear about the planning, I know it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Can you object again or is that it now?
Sorry to hear your OH is unwell Mel, hope it didn't ruin his birthday. What a shame you didn't like the flake cake, it's Sandra favourite, she asks for it for her birthday every year. Hope the other cake was more to your taste.
How annoying Ann, to have no internet and phone, I bet you're getting really fed up with it all now. How much longer is it going to go on? Hopefully not to much longer.
I've been so busy these past two days. I potted all the plants up for Sandra yesterday and finally put all the pictures back up on the walls now OH has finished decorating, then today I finished off Sandra's bedroom for her. I've bought all sorts for her room, most of it in pink of course, including new bedding. So with the twinkle lights I made her and the bird cage light plus a few pictures I also made for her, she's pleased as punch and can't wait to go to bed tonight. I must admit it does look good. I even bought her a lovely heart mirror which I've hung on her wall. Sandra asked me to wrap the pink rose lights Mel gave her around the foot board of her bed and OH spray painted her bed white for her, so all in all in looks really good.
I've just varnishing the side cupboard, it's upside down in the living room, when it's dry I'll ask OH to help me turn it over then I can do the top. Our bungalow has been upside down for months now and I'm determined to be straight before Christmas. OH still has the kitchen to paint then he's going to change one of our units for a smaller one so we can put the freezer in place. He put the freezer at the end of the units but our kitchen is to small and it's in the way so he's going to put it under the worktop instead, then all the rooms will be back to normal. We've ordered some new sofa's so hopefully they'll be here in a few weeks, just in time for Christmas.
Our car still isn't working, OH got a new started motor at a cost of almost £140 and even tried a new battery today but still it isn't playing nicely. Not sure what he's going to do now. I suggested he took it to the garage and have them put the computer on it, that way it should show up the problem then it can be fixed, so he's going to do that tomorrow if he can nip out of work for a few minutes..
Sandra was starting to get worried that she wasn't going to make it to the garden centre for the Christmas event on Thursday so I've just rung my mum to see if she'll take us if we can't get the car fixed tomorrow. OH is in work tomorrow so I thought I would ask mum for help as I can't see him sorting the problem out until he's off on Thursday even if he manages to get it to the garage tomorrow. Mum goes to bingo on a Thursday night so has said she would drop us off before that and pick us up again after her bingo finishes. So now Sandra is a happy bunny. I must admit I'm happy about it too as I was hoping to buy the book "A Street Cat called Bob" Sandra has seen it advertised on the TV and mum said she saw it at the garden centre a few weeks ago, so hopefully they'll still have some left so I can buy one for Sandra, I'm also hoping to get the DVD when it comes out then I can give them both to her for Christmas :-)
I'm shattered, been awake since 6.30 this morning, so might get myself off to bed now. Night Night

Ann I wondered if it was the workmen why you had'nt posted as you're such a regular.
Gill Sandra bedroom sounds nice for her now I bet she's really excited about going to bed tonight and about the visit on Thursday to the garden centre with the Christmas displays. You sound as though you have all been busy bees working on the house and garden. You hav'nt told us anout Michelle's visit, did you enjoy it?
O Jane the worst outcome ever for all of you. What a bu**er that they will be taking the road through there right next to you. What with Ann and all her upset in the Close and you with this hanging over your heads and us with our great big trees out the back. They interfere with our telly now they are so tall and the chicken run is in shadow all morning now the sun is so low in the sky during the winter. We had such a lovely view out the back right up to a big fir tree where there used to be a lookout platform to watch some hawks. There was 80 acres of field which is now all covered in trees. All planted on a Capability Brown landscape to the big house.
Outside our back door we used to look right down the valley over the trees down to Exmoor and the mist would hang in the valley some morning and look really magical. They said they were'nt going to plant trees there but they did and now you can't see down the valley at all.
