Morning all you lazy bones,
Hope you all had a good night sleep and not too many awakening for the little white friend.
We have sunshine and showers here with a very strong wind which can't make up its mind which way its blowing. So the suns out one min and then gone behind a cloud the next and then we get a shower and the sun comes out again. Everywhere is wet wet wet.

Oh no Jane you didn't want to hear that ,do you know when they will start pulling down the bungalow to get the road through?
Gill Sandra's bedroom sounds lovely i bet she is pleased with it ,hope you can find out what is wrong with the car and that it's not going to be a big and expensive job , you don't want that just before Christmas.
Right better get sorted now ready to go out , must remember my shopping list .

I was dreaming too Mandy. Strange dreams about staying in an expensive hotel and setting fire to some cardboard which I put out on the pink carpet with my foot and then throwing it out of the window to hide it. Never even thought about a smoke alarm going off. It may have something to do with that lovely old hotel that burned down in Exeter last week. It was supposed to be the oldest hotel in England.

Afternoon all
It's pouring with rain here, has been since last night and now my new border is full of water in the middle, good job we didn't plant the plants, they are still in their pots. I'll have to raise the level with some top soil, that should solve the problem.
I've just rang OH and apparently it was the starter motor on the car, the one he bought was faulty, the garage did a check on it, so they have ordered a new one and are going to put it on the car free of charge. Hopefully it'll be done today so OH can use it to come home from work in. He was soaked to the skin last night when he got in from work with having to walk in all the rain.
Mum's just left but said she would still take us tomorrow if we don't get the car back in time, which was nice of her. I hope the rain stops by then.
I've done some more varnishing on the sideboard this morning and only need to do a second coat on the top then it's finished and can be put back in the other room. Mum said she has lots of Christmas presents for us at hers so I need to be straight soon so I'll have somewhere to put them all.
Just had lunch, now Sandra wants to catch up with some soaps I recorded, then no doubt she'll want to watch another Christmas film. She showed her gran her bedroom earlier and had a great big smile on her face.....bless her
Hope everyone is okay today, be back later <3

Good Afternoon All
It has also been raining here all night but fortunately had cleared up by the time I had to walk to the dentist at 10.30. My mouth is still dead on the right side, he was preparing my mouth to have a cap fitted, it's only a temporary one at the moment and I have to go back in 2 weeks for a permanent one to be fitted.
Pleased to hear Sandra is loving her bedroom now Gill and your Mum is taking you to the garden centre for their Christmas event I hope you all enjoy it.
Jane what a disappointment that the next door bungalow is going to be demolished to make way for a road, Will that mean that Thomas will have to be kept in ?
Richard has gone back to work and I seem to have now got his cold which is unusual for me.
I haven't got round to reading all the posts yet but hope everyone is doing well

Its rained on and off here all day but we did have a little sun inbetween and some lovely rainbows.
I have, well he has, found something he wants so I said I would buy it for him for his biethday and the other thing he wants for Christmas. Its all to do with the game he plays on the pc. He needs a new keyboard and mouse and might have a pair of headphones for Christmas. He is buying me a new camera for Christmas a much better one than the one I have now.

Afternoon All What a horrible misty wet day it has been.It poured with rain in the night.
We have no idea how long it will be before anything happens with the bungalow next door.It won't be yet a while thankfully. But it is such a huge concern for us. As for Thomas Anne,I was thinking that when the bungalow is demolished I would put Thomas in to a Cattery,as the noise and mess will be dreadful.I kee pthinking i would like to move but I don't think we would sell the house with all the proposed works at the moment.I think we will just sit tight for now and try and put it out of our minds. There is no point fretting just yet as there is nothing more we can do. The fields down around by Fitz are full of big diggers ,trenches etc as everything is being prepared for the big Mains Pipework to be put in ready for the building of all the houses etc.Everywhere will be so different here in a couple of years. Not like it has been since we moved here in 1991.
I went to Fitz today with a Pizza. He looks well considering but I do think he might be overdoing it a bit.He forgets that he isn't supposed to be bending down picking things up and lifting things.A few times I had to stop him trying to do something.I only stayed for an hour and a half as I could see he was beginning to fade and needing a lie down. He said he had washed his hair over the bath this morning by kneeling down on the floor!!!.I think that almost wiped him out.
Gill, that is good your Mum will be able to take you and Sandra to the Garden Centre tomorrow night if your car is not ready. It would have been such a disappointment for Sandra if you had to miss it. My Sister says the film Cat called Bob is really good.I reckon Sandra will enjoy that one.
Mel it is such a pity that those trees are blocking your view now.I don't suppose there is anything you can do .Are there too many to be lopped down a bit so you at least had a bit of a view.
Where is Frank ? It was the footie last night wasn't it?
Well I am sick of the American Presidential Election..It seems to have been on the tv all day. What a shocker Trump winning !!!!!! :-S :-S.. Who knows though he might be ok.Time will tell I suppose.
Thomas was sick on the carpet this morning. Can i get all the stain out !! No :-S It is the bile that stains.I will have another go tomorrow.Hopefully it will gradually vanish. What got me was that I was in the shower and Chris came in and said Thomas has been sick!.....What could I do when I was in the blooming shower. He isn't very good when it comes to pet sick. But I shooed him back downstairs with instructions LOL Get loads of kitchen paper and blot as much as possible and then I would do the rest. He was already to go out ,so I just told him to go.I have to admit I was cross with him for not having the gumption as to what to do and calling me from the shower. Imagine if I had done the same to him !!!!!!.
Chicken Breasts with Asparagus wrapped in Pancetta tonight ,Rosti Potato ,Brocolli and more Asparagus. It's in the oven now :-D

Here I am, !! Evening all,
You were all in the best place last night. The lads picked me up at 7.00 pm and took me to the match.. It started to rain on the way there, We had to walk a fare old way to our entrance, then I had to climb THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS.to get to our seats. The seats were so close together, I was lucky I got an end seat and had my left leg in the isle. It was BITTER COLD, even with Jumper, scarf, gloves and my new coat with the hood up. I checked the temp and it was 3 degrees. The rain continued throughout the match, and at times was blowing in where we were sitting. I was glad when it was over. I then had to get down all those stairs. Boy was I in pain by the time I reached the bottom. Then we had a long walk back to the car in the pouring rain.
We stopped of at the local for a couple of pints and a warm up, I then rang Ros and she came picked PADDY and I up. Took him home, then us into a lovely warm bungalow. I was soon tucked up in bed, after taking my pain killers. Didn't have a good night, and ev tomorrow.en a worse day today.. Tried doing my exercises with great difficulty. I have sat with my leg up all day, and it has been a Bu##er to say the least.
All I can say is "THAT I DID IT" but don't think I will be doing it again anytime soon.
Haven't caught up with any posts, will try tomorrow, back now to put my leg up. !!

Evening All,
Yes, don't we miss the internet now we are used to having it! It's been fine today thank goodness, but they are still digging down the side of our private drive so we are keeping our fingers crossed they don't hit our cables again...or gas....or water!! This morning the close was blocked completely by a huge Travis Arnold lorry and a big delivery van after we'd just squeezed past the barriers around the digging. Hats off to the lorry driver who had to reverse around parked builder's contractors vans on the bends to let us through. OH was talking to the 2 neighbours opposite yesterday and everyone is sick and fed up of the constant disruption and noise now. From as early as 7.00am in the morning they start with vans, lorries and diggers and all the beeping and loud radios in their vehicles and shouting to each other. There is no chance of a peaceful lie in anymore, even on some Sundays and they work till it is dark. I'm so sorry to hear the plans to knock down the bungalow next to you were passed Jane, but I'm not surprised. Both the parish and district council here turned down our builder's plans, but they appealed and the Planning Inspector allowed them!! We haven't ruled out moving as our once peaceful close will never be the same again. When the building is finished there will be cars and visitors' cars to 3 more properties driving past on the narrow drive, with nowhere to park. The solitary house in a close of bungalows will most likely mean children, yet there is no room even for a pavement for them to be safe on and no street lights. Two of our immediate neighbours have tried to sell, one took theirs off the market and the other is still for sale, but I think any buyer will be put off till they see how things will be after the building is finished. It means it isn't worth us going ahead with alterations we had planned like hard flooring in the bedrooms, changes to the conservatory and a new garden room until we know if we are staying put. I think it will be at least another 12 months before they finish as they haven't even started on the last bungalow yet.
Off to bed now.......I still haven't read all the posts yet but will catch up tomorrow as we'll be in most of the day!! :-)

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time at the footie Frank. I don't suppose the weather helped either. Hope your leg is less painful tomorrow.
Oh Ann, how awful having all that noise and disruption around you all the time. I don't blame you not doing any alterations just yet. I can't believe they even work on a Sunday. Let's hope they don't cause anymore damage to pipes, cables etc...
How is Thomas now Jane? Fancy Chris not cleaning the sick up and calling you while you were in the shower. I'm sure after another clean the stain will come out. I think you're right about not moving just yet, all the work being done will only put people off. Will the work devalue your property with you losing the view? I hope that's not the case as that would add insult to injury, as they say.
How is your mouth now Anne, you have had a run of bad luck lately, hope things improve for you soon <3 Sorry to hear you now have a cold as well.
OH's just got in from work and said the starter motor is fixed now, but the wiring behind the fuse box has gone brittle and burn out because of the age of the car, so the auto electrician has had to make a start on the wiring and will finish it off tomorrow, as a result OH had no headlights to drive home with, only the side lights, luckily it's only around the corner and along a main road so he had the streetlights to light up our car. I don't know, if it's not one thing it's another with our car lately, I think we might need to buy a new one. Next door is selling a car for his mate so we might take a look at that. OH has to take the car back to the garage at 8.30 in the morning but has been told it should be done by lunch time, talk about cutting it fine. Mum said she'd still take us if we don't have a car to take ourselves.
Well, I'd better get back to Masterchef before I lose track of what's going on. It's Masterchef The Professionals Sandra and I like programme like that.

Morning all
The rain has finally stopped......for now, but the garden is really soaked. Hope it all drains away soon.
Good luck to Colin today Mandy, hope all goes well.
Sorry to hear you've had a bad night Mel, maybe a little nap this afternoon might make you feel less like a zombie.
I've finished the last coat of varnish on the sideboard, I decided to put it in it's correct room before varnishing it as it was in the way in the living room, so in a couple of days it should be dry enough for me to put everything back in there.
I've had a bit of a sort out this morning and now have a few bits to take to the charity shop, I've also decided to treat Sandra to a new 3ft Christmas tree for her bedroom and she has decided she wants a pink one.....surprise surprise lol. I've found one at B&Q for a fiver so we're off there now to buy it.
So far the car is okay but we were told that it will need a new fuse box next year which, because of the age of the car, we would probably only find on ebay, so we are now going to change the car after Christmas as it's starting to cost us a small fortune. My mum gave me the car about 5 years ago so it's done us a turn over the years.
Off to the shops now, then back home for something to eat before we go out this evening, Sandra is really looking forward to it and I've said I'll see what Christmas tree decorations we can find for her new tree tonight. I already have some spare LED lights but think I saw some pink ones at the garden centre so might treat her to those too and of course buy the book she wants for Christmas.
Spoke to soon about the rain, it's just started again.
If I don't get back online today, I'll see you all tomorrow <3

Afternoon All,
Glad you are still in the land of the living after your ordeal at the match Frank!! OH tends to go whatever the weather, but just lately he has stayed in once or twice when it's been really cold. I can't believe you took Ros' tablets!! I hope you are colour coded with your pots of tablets now.
It's good your car will be ok for a while Gill and I hope Sandra has a great time at the Garden Centre. She is a lucky girl getting a new tree for her bedroom and it sounds as if you have made it all very pretty for her with lights as well. I have done lots of varnishing in my time.........doesn't it smell strong!!
I hope the news for Colin is good today Mandy and that there is no damage to his hip.
Jane, what is Fitz like cutting his special socks off!! I suppose he couldn't wash his hair in the shower because of the socks getting wet? He sounds in quite good spirits though.
The mouse count is a dozen now and most are being caught in the garage. OH said 2 had obviously been out in the rain as they were all wet! OH has been so busy and eager to check the traps he slipped on the patio yesterday and banged his knee hard and wrenched his other leg! Today he has been all aches and pains with his knee and being careful going up steps, just like me!
