I didn't know FMP had some records open this weekend, I'll take a look later Mel. Thanks for letting us know.

So it was noisy at the pub Frank? So long as you enjoyed yourself that's the main thing. I didn't know there were no "roads" in the city, how interesting......you learn something new everyday ;-) :-) :-D

Well, one of the pictures is done, the frame had a mount in it but I didn't like it as it was yellow in colour and OH had sprayed the frame white. Luckily I had enough wallpaper samples to do another one bigger and take the mount out, it looks much better now and is hung on my bedroom wall. Stopping for lunch now then I'll make the second one. I'm only doing two.

Afternoon All

There is no stopping you Gill once you get going is there LOL. I think your pictures are a very good idea.Hopefully you will be happier with this second one.

What a yucky day.Dark, drizzly and misty. If I hadn't needed to go out this morning I think i would have stayed in my dressing gown all day.

No sign of any hedgehog here Mel.I wonder if it is because the weather has been so much colder than down your way.Hopefully it is as snug as a bug somewhere safe.
I wonder how much longer yours will carry on feeding.

Well, Hannah is at Twickenham for the England/South Africa match. Her freind Caroline gave Gareth and her free tickets. Hannah has never been to a match in her life.I wonder what she will make of it. It looks like they are right near the front.

I think it is time for a nice cup of tea and feet up by the fire
:-D

I,m fiddleing with my crafts a little something for a certain little girl.

Gillx Report 12 Nov 2016 16:44

I've finally cleared the dining room table so Sandra and I are going to be making the Christmas tree decorations soon, she is so excited bless her <3

What crafts are you making Mel? Is it something Christmassy like Sandra and I are going to do?

So Hannah is at her first footie match Jane, I wonder what she'll make of it? Hope the weather isn't to bad and she enjoys herself. We had some rain here this morning but it seems to have stopped now, but for how long who knows?

We've decided not to bother putting the second freezer in our kitchen after all as it was almost impossible to secure the worktop with having three appliances underneath it, there would of only been enough room for one small kitchen unit and I didn't think that would be enough to support the whole worktop. Luckily we'd eaten quite a bit out of the first freezer so had enough room in there to put the things out of the second freezer in, well, I say enough room there was a tub of ice-cream that wouldn't fit, but we had two that flavour so we're going to eat some of it tonight and then throw away the rest as it will melt anyway.

I've been so busy putting things away and tidying up that I haven't had a chance to do the second picture yet, so I will get on with that later.

OH is going to make a start on the painting in the kitchen after dinner then finish it off tomorrow, it's only the ceiling and then glossing the door and skirting boards so it shouldn't take him to long to do then the whole place has had a freshen up ready for Christmas :-) All we're waiting for now is our new sofa's to be delivered, which hopefully will be within the next couple of weeks.

I think I might do the same as you Jane and have a cuppa by the fire ;-)

Posh knobs lol

Evening all,

What a dreary day it's been ,i don't think it's stopped raining here all day.

I bet Sandra carn't wait to start making her christmas things ,you can gets lots of ideas on pinterest ,it would be nice to see a photo when its done .
Did they have the snow machine at the garden centre this year ?

That was nice of Hannah's friend to give her the free tickets for the rugby Jane , i remember going to a football match once with Colin when we first started going out together ,it was a freezing cold day and i hated it , it was so cold I'd never want to go again .

I really must get down to doing some christmas shopping next week i seem to be so behind this year .

Gillx

Gillx Report 12 Nov 2016 18:17

Oh I see Jane, sorry I just assumed it was the footie. Nice of her friend to give them tickets and meeting the players in the VIP tent, how lucky is she? :-D

No Mandy they didn't have the snow machine this year, not sure why, as they have it every year, but they did have lots of Christmas lights on the trees outside which Sandra loved and they had lots of sweets inside so she ended up with quite a few lollypops that should last her a few days.
I'm the same with my Christmas shopping, I really do need to get on with it especially with having to send a couple to Australia, I need to nip to the post office to see what the Christmas dates are for delivering to Australia, I wouldn't want them to be late.

We're just packing up the small kitchen unit we bought now we're not going to use it anymore, what a job that is. How come it never goes back in the box as easily as it comes out? :-S :-S We've managed to finally get the draw in it's box now comes the unit itself, which we'll do after dinner.

I can hear yet more fireworks, they seem to be going every night just lately.

Going to sort out dinner now before Strictly comes on, Sandra and I like that programme, then it's the X-factor and the F1 qualifying, we'll have to watch the F1 on the plus 1 channel as it clashes with everything else. Sandra will catch up with her Hollyoaks while we watch the qualifying as she doesn't like that programme.

Jane

Jane Report 12 Nov 2016 18:42

Nothing ever goes back in the box Gill .No matter how hard you try LOL.So many times I think YES it's in but then can't fold down the top of the box :-S :-S
Looking forward to Sticktly soon :-D

Mandy ,Hannah's friend has a top position with Costa Coffee and always gets given lots of free tickets for all sorts of venues. Nice to have friends like that :-) This is the friend that took Hannah to London Fashion Week last year .(when the Paparazzi rushed up to them and then decided they weren't famous ) So no pics taken LOLOL

I will send a pic of Hannah and Gareth outside the grounds.Hannah has the biggest pom pom on her hat !!!.

Gillx

Gillx Report 12 Nov 2016 19:47

Once we have it in the box Jane we squash it down tightly and put lots of parcel tape on it, that tends to hold it, but like you said it's not easy. I like the picture of Hannah, I see what you mean about her pom pom lol.

The shelf in a cupboard in our kitchen fell down, it made such a noise it made me jump, luckily nothing is broken. I think it happened because of the weight, it's bowed the shelf and it fell off the bits it sits on. I have some brackets so we're going to put some on and screw the shelf to the cupboard, then put the heavier stuff at the bottom rather than the top. It seems to be one of those days today, one step forward and two back :-| I still haven't done my second picture yet, that might have to wait until tomorrow now, plus the painting in the kitchen. I hope tomorrow is a better day I don't fancy another one like today :-(

Good morning All

It's a lovely bright morning here so far not like yesterday when it was chucking it down.

Richard got a clean bill of health from the Radcliffe and will go back again in 6 months, so that was a relief, I do wish I wasn't such a worrier.

That was a happy photo of Hannah and Gareth [she looks like you Jane] did they enjoy themselves?

I've just got the Sunday roast sorted, all ready to go, Richard is meeting up with friends, they have booked for a meal in Reading so he will be getting the train there with some of the others from Bracknell.

Hope everyone has a good day with not too many aches and pains

Morning Anne and all,

Lovely bright morning here too. I heard oh turn the heating on and thought I would just lay in bed a while to let the rads warm up and fell asleep again. That was 8.45am and I got up at 9.45am. So missed most of the morning already.

Gillx

Gillx Report 13 Nov 2016 11:56

Hi all

Dry here too today, although it looks as if we've had rain in the night.

I'm so pleased Richard got a clean bill of health Anne, you can stop worrying now. I'm the same as you a born worrier, I think it's the mum in me. Hope Richard has a nice time with his friends.

So you had a nice lay in this morning Mel, we got up early as we had a few things to do, so it'll probably be an early night tonight. The only problem with having a lay in is you seem to be playing catch up all day, but it's worth it to have a good sleep isn't it?

My garden is full of leaves off the apple tree and a few apples that we couldn't reach to pick. We have decided to take the apple tree down next year as we have the shed next to it now and we don't want all the apples falling on the shed roof. I've never really liked the apple tree so will be glad when it's gone. We planted lots of conifers behind it about 9 years ago and they are taller than the apple tree now so we won't lose any privacy once the tree has been taken down.

Well, we've been very busy here this morning, OH has painted the kitchen, we managed to box up the kitchen unit and have put that in the shed for now. I've finished the second picture I was making and OH is now down the tip throwing away the freezer we couldn't use. I'm going to do the hoovering and polishing then we'll have roast chicken, Sandra is making that so all I've have to do it dish up when it's ready. Then we'll settle down for the afternoon and watch a Christmas film I recorded yesterday. So all in all a much better day so far than we had yesterday :-)

Don't forget the grand prix tonight Gill. Its on at 10pm.

Oh has picked up loads of apples and is going to dump them where the deer can get to them but I hope its not too near the house to encourage them down here to eat my roses.

He has also had a mow in the orchard so more leaves have been cleared away.

I am just about to hoover the kitchen as with this rotten cold I hav'nt felt like doing it.

Flu jab tomorrow but I had better make sure its ok to have them as we both still have this cold.

YOu did a lot this morning Gill. You'll soon be ready to do those decs for Sandra's tree.

Gillx

Gillx Report 13 Nov 2016 12:58

Thanks for reminding me about the F1, that's late 10pm I might record it while I watch it incase I fall asleep. Hope Lewis wins it'll make a very interesting last race if he does. Rosberg could get the championship today if he wins. Did you see the qualifying Mel? I won't say who's in pole incase you haven't watched it yet.

Hope you can have your flu jab tomorrow and your cold goes soon.

OH is back in work on Tuesday so Sandra and I are hoping to make a start on her xmas tree decs then. I've finally claimed the bungalow back from all the clutter that has been laying around most of the year, so now we have the room to make her things. I would of done it with her tomorrow but I need to go shopping and Sandra wants to go to the library, plus OH is off and will probably get under our feet, so best to wait until he goes back to work and Sandra and I have a free day.

OH is back from the tip so we're just about to start watching the Christmas film I recorded. I've had to put the fire and the heating on as OH has painted the door so we can't shut it and it's quite cold in here. It should warm up soon though.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Nov 2016 14:50

Yes Gill I saw the qualifying.

I have hoovered right through the bungalow so now its all nice and clean for me to start crafting again and mess it all up! :-(

That was a great pic of Hannah and Gareth and it came out the right way up which is always a bonus.

All painted now then Gill and I can understand how it will be better for you to do the decs while oh is at work. You can settle more when they are out of the way. <3

Frank

Frank Report 13 Nov 2016 14:54

I have just spent over an HOUR writing a post, and it has all gone. So I am not going all over it again.

Have a good afternoon.

I will try to get back this evening, IF I HAVEN'T THROWN THIS BLOO#Y laptop out of the window.

Gillx

Gillx Report 13 Nov 2016 15:16

Yes all the painting is now finished Mel, I'm just waiting for the paint to dry on the door so I can hoover the living room then all that's done. So you saw the qualifying I'm please Lewis got pole position but sometimes when he starts a race it's not very good, so weather he'll stay in front remains to be seen. Sandra wants to watch her programmes so we'll be watching the F1 on the plus 1 channel again, which means it won't finish until around 1am, not sure if we'll still be awake by then so I'm going to record it as we watch it just in case, then we can watch it again tomorrow if needs be.

Not again Frank, how do you manage to keep losing your posts, it must be so frustrating? Hope you manage to get back on here again later.

I've just fed Rosie for the second time today so she's happily eating the nuts on our lawn. We've just finished our lunch so we'll get back to the films I've recorded shortly once the dishes are done. It's so nice to sit down and relax for a bit, we've all been on the go so much this year we haven't had five minutes to do much.

OH and I are hoping to take Sandra to Chester next Friday Christmas shopping and of course we'll do our shopping too. OH has booked some holidays off work so finishes for this month on the 17th, not sure what he's working next month as they haven't done his shift yet so that's why we're doing the shopping now incase he doesn't get much time off in December.

Off to do the dishes now then watch the film, be back later <3

MillymollyAmanda Report 13 Nov 2016 16:04

Afternoon all,

Its been a cloudy day here , no sign of any sun but it doesnt seem as cold out today, we have been out in the garden doing a bit of tidying up ,Colin has been sorting out some bags of sticks for the fire and brought some more logs in .
He's now watching the F1on the sky sports F1 channel ,we don't have the sports channels on sky but you can get the F1 on that channel, looks like a delayed start due to rain now.

Oh no Frank what do you keep doing that makes you lose your posting , is it you pressing the wrong button or the lap top playing up?

We went to sons this morning and DIL has found a christmas wreath she wants me to make for her , it's made with a Noodle Float that you use in the swimming pool , you cut and join the ends together glue baubles on it and add lights , it did look pretty.

Gillx

Gillx Report 13 Nov 2016 17:59

What's a Noodle Float Mandy, I've not heard of one of those before :-S :-S
A wreath with baubles and lights sounds nice, I'd love to see a picture when you've made it.

I've just turned the sound off the news so I don't catch who won the F1 OH and I are watching it later so I don't want to spoil it for myself. I'm looking forward to watching it to see if Rosberg gets the championship of not.

I've been buying a few bits and bobs for Sandra and OH for Christmas so I'm just going to go through them as I can't remember everything I've bought for Sandra. We're hoping to go Christmas shopping next week so I don't want to end up buying things I've already bought for her. I thought I'd make a list of what I have, keeping it hidden from them both of course, as I want to start wrapping them up soon.

OH said he's been singing when I ask him what he's done to the weather lol It's started raining again. At least I know who to blame now :-D :-D

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 13 Nov 2016 18:12

A noodle float is like a long tube of polystyrene Gill ,you use them in swimming pools to help you float ,to make the wreath the ends are cut at an angle and you join them together and then stick on your baubles or i suppose you could just twist tinsel round it and add lights.
Making a list sounds a good idea you don't want to double up on things which is easy to do when you've tucked things away .

Colin watched the race but i won't spoil it and say any thing about it you'll see why later .

Should be a milder day here tomorrow so the weather man says .
