Yes Jane Rosie and Jim did live on a narrow boat, Sandra loved that programme and thinks it's so funny that I've named the two squirrels after them. Jim is bigger than Rosie so I'm not sure if he's one of her babies or not. Mind you Rosie is very small so you never know.
I've just taken a look in Sandra's room and the Christmas tree with all the lights on looks really good. Hope we don't spoil it with to many decorations, we'll have to be careful not to over do it. What is that saying "Less is more"
You were lucky Jane not being broken into, lets hope they catch them soon. I didn't know there was a Supermoon tonight, I've been looking at the moon these past few nights and it's been very bright, but tonight is quite cloudy so I doubt I'll see anything :-(

I've noticed Sky are repeating a lot of the Christmas films this year Mel, but there are one or two new ones around, it's just a point of finding them. I also noticed that there are more channels showing Christmas films and ones we've not seen before so we've been watching those channels instead. Have you taken a look on Channel 5 they have Christmas films on in the afternoon?

We didn't get a chance to watch the second Christmas film, I'd just put it on then my sister rang me and we chatted for ages, now I've got to sort out dinner, so we'll have to watch the film another day as I recorded it instead.

Well, I'd better go and get dinner on.

LOL Mel .I might say that next time I send a parcel I am sure there are plenty of S*x toys sent through the post. I too don't like the fact they ask what is in the parcel. They just used to ask the value of what was being posted. It might be to do with anything dangerous being in packages. There are so many things now that are not allowed .

I 'm glad you are really happy with your special present you will be sending. I bet it will go down a treat :-D

We actually have a bit of clear sky over us at the moment but the moon is still a little off to the East ,half behind cloud. I bet by the time it gets nearer here it will be all cloud :-S..Thomas is in :-D

I am doing Braised Pesto Chicken with Peppers and Orzo for dinner. It all goes in one pan in the oven so very simple. But it is delicious. If anyone wants the recipe just ask me and I will pass it on.

Evening all,

<3 <3 Happy Birthday Maureen <3 <3 hope you've had a lovely day .

Another dull day here after rain first thing , not sure if it's cloudy here i haven't looked out yet but i'll have a look when i let Max out he's fast asleep at the moment will a full belly .
I'll take a photo Jane Max is getting big now ,it's Thursday we go for the dog training , it's the last one , not sure if we'll do the next lot as it's not a good road to get there and we're now getting fog and frost and it's cold to turn out so we might do the next lot of classes in the spring .

Yes they always ask whats in your parcels now ,they use to just ask is it of any value ,you should have seen the ladies face when i said Me'ls parcel had a Chickens vest in it :-D :-D
I bet there are a lot of people who don't tell the truth about what they are posting , imagine if the parcel started vibrating !! :-0 :-S :-D

I hope we can get to hear your interview Ann you were very good on the last one ,how lovely to get some flowers , perhaps it takes a day or two to edit .

Sandra is getting all christmasy now, so tomorrow will be a day of glitter and glue will it ,you'll need the christmas music and mince pies ready too.

Did you check all round this morning Jane ? you would have thought the police would have been round to ask if you'd heard or seen any thing and to warn you too that the bu**ers are about again , you need one of those signs on your door with the dog on that says " i live here " i do think it puts them off if they think the dog might start barking .
I would like the recipe please we like Orzo ,we use to have a lot of dishes with that in when we went to the Greek islands .

Oh dear Frank your not sounding very happy ,i think the trip to the football has set you back a bit , i hope you manage to get a better nights sleep tonight .

Right i'm going to see if i can see this super moon now .

I like the sound of your little bedsit Conrad is doing Frank. It would suit me too I think!! Me TALK........you should know how hard it is to get a word in here with Mr Chatterbox!! :-D lol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Maureen! <3 <3 <3 I forgot too!! I hope you have had a nice day.

Gill, the interviews are on the Radio Leicester site, but as I say, they haven't put any on that they did with me or the other 2. Mind you they were supposed to turn up later after I'd gone. The only interviews are with 2 of the doctors and one of the professors. I am attending a focus group there at the end of the month so can ask what happened then. I know the lady who met me today from other meetings and she was telling me she spends 3 hours every day cycling to work and back!! Then she said one of the doctors had run over 50 miles at the weekend!! She said when he showed her his average speed, it was faster than she goes on her bike!!!

Mel you have been busy with your crafts! I would need to clear some space in here first if I wanted to do anything. At least you should be ok by the time you get your flu jabs this time.

Yes you would have thought the police would be asking you if you'd seen/heard anything Jane. I agree with you about leaving things on view is asking for trouble, but isn't it sad that some people think that if things are stealable, it's ok for them to take them and somehow it's the other person's fault then. :-S I can't remember if I said before, but we met a lady in a shop with a tiny Chihuahua in it's tiny bed in a bag she was carrying. She daren't leave it at home when she's out as a thief could just pop it in his pocket!!

We enjoyed Planet Earth again last night. I have always loved the rare Snow Leopards, but my word, those baby Ibex following their mum's down those sheer rocks.......and at speed too!! :-0

I think I'm going to bed now. My head has nearly slumped over the laptop a couple of times!! OH will be up earlier than me tomorrow as he has to go for a blood test.

Got it Jane. It does look bright. I have been thinking the stars l;ook closer over the last week. Is this the time of year when the earth bends out towards the moon????? so making it look bigger???? or something like that.

Morning all,

Dry here today but we had that horrid fine misty rain last night before I went to bed. It is now misty out thereand the sun is trying to break through. It may happen yet.

Shopping day and I want to go up the High St today and look at the Christmas bits and get some wild bird food. They are now eating me out of house and home. The goldfinches love the sunflower hearts and are there each morning and afternoon if there's any left. They go through a whole feeder a day some days. The only thing is you don't see them for long as they grab the seed they want and fly off with it. The only one who stays there on the feeder is the Chaffinch and they just sit on the bar and stuff their faces till the're full and then fly away.

Just having a COT and then I'm off out to do the girls.

Gillx Report 15 Nov 2016 10:03

Morning Mel and all

If you get the sun Mel can you pass it my way please ;-) It's another damp day here today, but quite warm with it so not to bad. Hope it stays dry while you do your shopping.

I guess the crafts you were making Mel were for Sandra, she loves the things you send her. So the birds are eating you out of house and home then, it must be nice to see them. We are going to put up our birdhouse nearer the spring, the one with the camera in it, so hopefully a bird will nest there and Sandra can then watch it on her TV. I have explained that they might not nest the first year so I hope she's not to disappointed if nothing happens straight away. Fingers crossed it does though.

I've been awake since 6am so have got all the things ready for our craft day for when Sandra wakes up, she's still asleep so I might make a start on wrapping her Christmas presents up. I've already wrapped my mum's and sister's this morning as my sister is over on Thursday and we are exchanging gifts, so that's another job out of the way, I've even written the Christmas cards for them both.

Thanks Ann for letting me know where to find your talk, I hope it's on their website today. It sounds like that doctor is superman, running faster than the lady on the bike. 3 hours cycling is good too. Don't think I'd be able to do that every day.

I saw the Super Moon last night but there was a bit of cloud in front of it so it wasn't as bright as it has been over the last few days. According to the weather girl tonight should be a better night to see it although it will show a little smaller than last night.

Hope you had a better nights sleep last night Frank and you don't lose anymore posts. Like I said if you make a mistake just carry on and post it then you can edit it afterwards, hopefully you won't lose it then. It must be so disheartening losing posts all the time.

How is Thomas with you now Jane, hope everything is back to normal? How is Fitz too, hope he is starting to feel more like himself and hasn't been over doing things?
I'd like the recipe please. I liked the picture of the Supermoon, it looked very bright.

I'm going to get a cuppa now then make a start on wrapping up Sandra's Christmas presents, I did say to her if the living room door is shut not to come in, now all I've got to do it hope she remembers ;-) Thinking about it, it might be better if I wrap them up in my bedroom instead, she won't go in there. I wouldn't want her to see what I've got her.

Gillx

Gillx Report 15 Nov 2016 11:21

Well, I didn't get Sandra's presents wrapped up in the end as I checked my emails and found one, in amongst all the spam, from my friend in Australia, it was sent over a week ago so I thought it best to answer it, then when I'd finished that Sandra woke up.

You should of seen Sandra's face when I showed her all the craft things I'd set out on the dining table for our craft day, I found some glitter glue and some pink and purple glitter pipe cleaners which we can wrap around some of the plain baubles, plus lots of other things, all I need to do now is get a large tray so the glue doesn't go on the table cloth then we can start. I've cleaned an egg carton so when we have glued everything to the baubles they can go in there so they don't roll around while the glue dries. I've found some small white wooden tree decorations that I'm going to give to Sandra for her tree too.

I'm just going to have a tuna salad first, with being up so early and not having any breakfast I'm really hungry. It'll give Sandra time to wake up properly and have something to eat, herself.

Gillx Report 15 Nov 2016 12:24

I seem to be having problems with my internet connection, it's gone off twice today, so I'm not sure if it'll keep going. Hopefully it will then I'll be back on here later.

Off to start the tree decorations now with Sandra

Just quickly to say we're ok except we both have horrid head colds. OH is virtually better, but I'm still pretty snuffly! We've had a very busy month what with SIL + hubby staying, and this weekend we're going to stay with son and partner. We come back from there on Monday, and on Wednesday we are away for a week! After that we're home for a bit!
I'm afraid I haven't given Christmas a seconds thought yet, although I will have to take presents this weekend as son and partner are going to New Zealand for a month on the 21st Dec. Sons birthday is on the 22nd Dec so I must remember that too!
We saw the moon quite well here last night. It won't be that bright again for many years so it was good to see it.
Cas is doing really well on the shooting/pickng up front! She's much more obedient and less harum scarum than she was last season so OH is well chuffed with her. She's still quite a tiny girl, which is good, a lot of the other Spaniels are a lot bigger than her, but not as speedy!! I must say the field has been a godsend while we've been full of cold and not feeling like walking!!
Very gloomy today so we're taking it easy! Hope all the aches and pains are better! (Frank!!)

Morning to all my "GIRLS" Afternoon KIM,

Dark miserable day here. I wrapped myself up and walked to the Drs. with the Scrips. I needn't have bothered, I was sweating like a pig by the time I got there. Had to take me scarf and gloves off and undo my coat for the walk back. Still cooling down now !!!

I thought the police would have called on you also Jane. As you say they deserve to loose the motor bike if it wasn't locked away. Perhaps they think they will get more for it from the Insurance Company.

You are going to have a busy day with Sandra Gill. Hope she gets lots of things down. It must be difficult keeping her occupied all the time, but with all the films, that must help.

How busy our Auntie Mel is. I hope the receivers of these gifts will be happy with them xx as I am sure they will.

Talking to Ella in Devon on Sunday, she tells us JJ will be TWO on the 22nd. Nov. So Ros has got a "DOGGY CARD" with a Badge, that they can attach to his collar.. Is there nothing they don't make for animals ???

She forgot the potato's yesterday, but I found a few at the back of the tray so we managed. Ros has popped into Tesco's to get some odds and ends, then onto Boots for something she needs.

England are playing Spain tonight in a friendly, so might venture down the pub to see it with a bit of company.

Have a good afternoon all. See you later.

Cas is two on February 6th Frank, it only seems the other day since she was a tiny girl! I don't think.we shall be getting her anything though as were not really into doggy birthdays!!
OH as been pruning the roses and spreading the compost from the tomato plants. Apart from the leaves, we're just about tucked up for he winter!

Frank

Frank Report 15 Nov 2016 16:19

That's good to hear Liz, Ros cleaned the greenhouse a couple of weeks ago and put the compost from the tomato's around the garden. All her delicate plants are now tucked up in the greenhouse for winter. Your Son has the same birthday as mine. But I bet he isn't as old. !!!!

Ros found a nice "POLO " T shirt for Conrad as a little extra present for Christmas. She never seems to pass a good offer by.

I have bought her a pair of drop diamond ear rings in White Gold. I am now looking at a bracelet in White Gold to go with them.. Isn't she a lucky girl.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

We have had that horrible drizzle here all afternoon. I doubt it will get any better tonight, but it's certainly not going to be cold.

Pulled Pork with Sage and onion stuffing tonight with Apple sauce. I am doing Roast and veg to go with it. The potato saga was sorted in the end. There was another BAG behind the tray. I missed those.. TRUST ME !!

Annx Report 15 Nov 2016 16:40

Afternoon All,

Well I fell asleep within 20 minutes watching tv in bed last night and woke up at 5.30am, the time I got up yesterday! The tv switches itself off after so long, but you know that feeling when you wake up and can't remember how a programme ended!!! lol. :-)

OH had his blood test this morning and was in a sweat as usual afterwards. He hates needles and no matter how many times he's been it's always the same. His cold is worse today and he has a cough as well now but has gone off to a meeting this afternoon. I see you both have the colds too Liz. I've been to the farm shop and taken a few photos of the trees where we had lunch, otherwise a lazy day. My back has been playing up today after sitting on the pouffe type seats at the hospital yesterday.

Gill I can just imagine Sandra's wide open eyes when she saw the craft things you had got. I hope you got lots of things made for her to put on her tree. :-D

It's good Cas is doing well with the pickups etc Liz. I bet she really enjoys it too! I see they have christmas cards from the dog or cat now too. As Frank says whatever next! You were lucky to see the moon. When I looked out I couldn't see any sign of it at all!

Frank I get hot like that every time I go walking, so can't use a coat unless it's really bitter. It does seem to have turned a lot milder though.

I noticed the sign was outside the farm today that we get our turkey for christmas from so I'd better get it ordered, We don't want to end up with the biggest whopper for just the two of us!! :-0 I was going to get a turkey crown this year as it would be easier to do and slice and freeze than the whole bird, but OH made such a fuss about the lovely flavour of the farm ones! I decided as I hardly do any cooking for him these days I could hardly begrudge him his farm turkey!!! lol. :-)

Better go and get the washer ready to put on tomorrow and tidy the kitchen worktops and wipe down.

Gillx Report 15 Nov 2016 17:18

Nice to see you back Liz, how wonderful that Cass is learning what she has to do now, you must be so proud of her <3 It sounds like you've been very busy lately with your visitors.

The presents you bought Ros Frank sound lovely, she's so lucky. I love white gold it's so pretty isn't it? So you found the potatoes in the end then?

It sounds like you had a good nights sleep Ann even if you did wake early, I find I wake early if I go to bed to early the night before. I'm thinking of getting a Turkey Crown this year rather than a whole Turkey as there's only three of us or even two if OH has to work, he hasn't got his shift for December yet so anything could happen.

We've finally finished decorating Sandra's tree, we didn't need to make as much as we first thought because I found a lot of white wooden Christmas tree decorations which Sandra wanted on her tree too. It's only a small tree so we're limited to how much we can put on there. It does look good and she is made up with it. So now I have lots of stuff left over. I'm sure we'll think of something to make with it all and have another craft day before Christmas. Sandra will like that.

Well, I'd better go and keep an eye on dinner, we're having sweet and sour chicken with boiled rice, Sandra has been asking for it for ages so I thought I'd make it for her tonight. We're having roast gammon tomorrow followed by apple pie as Sandra has been asking for the pie for ages too. She does like her food ;-) :-D

Afternoon Everyone

Ann,if I sleep in Hannah room and have the tv on I can guarantee I will be asleep before the end the programme I am watching lol..I often nod off on the settee too if I am stretched out .I miss so much but thankfully there is good old Catch Up :-D

So Gordon is full of cold now.It seems to be doing the rounds at the moment .Touch wood none of us has got one yet. Any news on your interview ? Chris will be ordering our Turkey Crown from Waitrose again this year. They are expensive but the last few years we have had one from there and they have always been good.None of us eat Legs or Wings and aren't so keen on dark meat so I gace up on getting a whole Turkey. Too much waste.I am happy if there is just enough to do 2 days.To be honest I much prefer Chicken to Turkey.

I heard from Maureen today and she asked me to say thankyou to everyone who sent her Birthday Wishes. She spent the day with her family in Bedford at the weekend. There is another addition to the family.Baby boy called Louis.(I think it is Louis).

So Ros will be sparkling with her earrings and bracelet at Christmas :-D :-D..I know. she does love her jewellery .

Mel is Bideford all decked out ready for Xmas?Everytime you mention the High St it always takes me back to my childhood when we used to go and see Aunty Betty and Nana.

So craft day at your house today Gill. I am sure Sandra has had a great time decorating baubles. Good idea to use egg boxes to put the baubles in while the glue drys.
You know when you go to look for something and just can't find it,and then it is right under your nose. Well I thought I would make a start on my Christmas cards this afternoon .I found some cards I bought recently but could I find the ones I bought a couple of months ago. I turned the drawer out that I knew I had put them in .Did that twice. No luck. Chris came in and looked in the drawer and found them straight away !!!!! :-S.I had lost heart by then so still haven't done any.

Nice to hear from you Liz.Busy time ahead for you now for a few weeks. Are you going somewhere nice for your week away? Will Cas be going with you? I hope your colds clear up soon .

What a dark day it has been. But so mild ,I had no coat on and no thick cardi.Just a thin cotton top .

Beef Stroganoff for us tonight I have already cooked it so it will just need reheating and the rice doing. I get so fed up trying to think what to have every day :-S.I find myself in bed at night trying to decide what to have for the next day.
I am having such weird dreams at the moment.Everynight I am in a different country.
Last night was Greece.I wonder where it will be tonight.

Yes, we're going to Portland Jane. We lived there for about two years when OH was in the Fleet Airarm. It was a helicopter station in those days. Previously to that we'd lived outside Penzance for just over a year which is where our son was born! We tossed up which to visit, but we've been back to Cornwall quite a few times so we settled for Portland. They were both happy days but Dorset is closer! Yes we're taking Cas! She'll love the walks and she's no trouble!!
