Sorry to hear you are poorly again Gill it always seems worse this time of the year luckily you are well ahead of your present buying and wrapping, take it easy and keep warm.We watched Children in Need, so sad with those parents losing both of their children through illness. It wasn't the same without Terry Wogan though but it was nice to see his son giving that young lad an award for all his fundraising efforts
Mandy what a bargain with those Turkey Crowns. I bought a frozen one in Aldi as a stand by.
Frank , Lewis certainly has a large appetite, I don't think our three sons ever ate quite as much as that at his age, did he eat it all or was some sneakily thrown away?
Shadow very kindly presented me with a very small furry rodent not sure what it was but definitely not a mouse, anyway pleased to say after a lot of running around it made it's way out of the kitchen door into the back garden.
Richard has gone to Manchester for the weekend to visit Judith & Keith part of the holiday group, he is travelling up with David and Caroline and their two daughters.
Will be watching Strictly later, it will be interesting to see on Sunday who goes out this week.

Been in next door deliving the eggs and I had to see all the new farm things little Sam had for his birthday. Em said come in and I'll put the kettle on. I never did get a cot or coffee even then. I don't know how many times I have been in their house and I have never had a drink made for me yet!! I don't mind but its the first thing we do when anyone comes.
So now I have lost another afternoon without doing any of the things I want to do. I am sitting here with a COT but have to go out now and shut the chickens in and feed the hungry hogs.

Oh a little furry gift for you then Anne courtesy of Shadow lol. Would it have been a Shrew? Thomas's catches never reach as far as the back door as he eats them all on the patio. There was just one a few weeks ago that got as far as the lounge, but luckily I managed to shoo Thomas back out again with it in his mouth. I expect Richard will have a good weekend in Manchester. It is one place I have never been.In fact there are so many places in this country that we have not been to, especially cities.I think I have visited more cities abroad than British ones. Which makes me feel a bit guilty really.
4.30 and dark now.It is like a millpond with nothing moving at all..Calm before the stormy weather tomorrow .I was thinking I wouldn't have to go out tomorrow. But having just looked in the fridge I don't think I have veg to go with the roast beef :-S.I have the potatoes ,and Yorkshires and just one pack of Broccoli .But I want Parsnips and Carrots too.It will have to a quick dash as soon as the shops open .
Strictly and XF tonight :-D..I have been watching some of the jungle but get so fed up with the Bush Tucker Trials. It makes me feel quite queasy lol especially when the contestants start to gag :-S :-S

Yes Jane I think it must have been a shrew, our 2 never seem to eat their catches going by the number of dead bodies I have found over the years,
Peter and I went to Manchester quite a few years ago when we visited the Granada TV studios which was really good, only spent time there so didn't see the City .
No bad weather here yet but rain has been forecast for later plus possible high winds :-| :-| .
Mel we also offer a drink to visitors as well, including people such as the gas engineers etc
It'd just starting to rain now we have already eaten our main meal so just ham and tomato sandwiches and cake before Strictly Starts

Oh Mel you had a nice sleep in this morning you must have needed it . I had to smile when you said the boys were long streaks of nothing ,i haven't heard that for a while .
You need to get rid of that bug Gill you don't want to be ill for your birthday ,have you got any thing special planned as it's a big one ? I bet Sandra will want you to have a nice chocolate cake .
Oh a little furry present then Anne ,i don't think i would know what to do if i had a furry friend brought in , i certainly wouldn't be able to pick it up. Yes Strickly on soon ,i don't know who will go this week .
We have had our meal just mince and veg tonight nice and easy , now i really really fancy some chocolate and i only have the christmas chcolates but I'll be good and won't start on them .
We have a house down the road with the outside christmas light up and flashing away ,they have two little disabled children so i think they get them up early for them, you can see in the window and the front room is all lit up too .

I have been taking Lemsip today Mandy, I can't believe I'm not well, it started with a sore throat a few days ago and now I've got ear ache and a headache as well. I've stayed in the warmth today which has helped. I don't have anything planned for my birthday but I'm sure we'll go somewhere, Sandra has told me I'm not allowed to go out in the morning as she has something being delivered, so that's something to look forward to and my mum is coming round in the morning too. Yes it will be a chocolate cake, I'm the same as Sandra and like those types of cakes. Do you have any chocolate drinks? I find that works if I fancy chocolate and don't have any in. I found a selection box yesterday that has black jacks, fruit salad, dip dab and a few other things in there, so OH bought it for me for Christmas I'm looking forward to it as it'll make a nice change from all the chocolate we have at Christmas. Sandra and OH fancied the traditional selection boxes full of chocolate so everyone's happy. How lovely to have all the Christmas lights up for the children down the road. I normally put our Christmas tree up on my birthday which Sandra loves, but I'll have to do it a bit later this year with the new carpet and sofa's being delivered, she's happy with her pink Christmas tree in her room, it looks very Christmassy in there now, so I don 't think she minds waiting a little longer for the bigger tree in the living room.
So Shadow has been bringing you little presents Anne, one of our cats used to do that, you were lucky it found it's own way out, it wouldn't of been very nice to have to pick it up yourself. Yes I've wrapped up all the presents I've bought so far, even the one for Australia, I just need to write the address on that one then it'll be ready for posting. I have a few more things to buy for OH but Sandra is finished now. I ended up buying her another six presents yesterday, so she has been really spoilt this year. We were meant to go out today to finish off our shopping but I didn't feel up to it, so that'll have to wait a few days. I just have my Christmas cards to write and a bit more food to buy when I have some room in the freezer then I'll be done.
So you didn't get your cuppa then Mel, I always put the kettle on when we have visitors, it's the first thing I do. I've made lots of cuppa's this year with all the workmen we've had here, they can drink a lot can't they? :-D
I don't live that far away from Manchester Jane and I've never been there, so you're not on your own and I've only been to Liverpool a few times in my lifetime. I'm not keen on big cities, I find them to crowded which is why I like Chester, it's not to big and has a lovely River going through it and some really nice parks to walk around. I'm looking forward to taking Sandra back there in the summer and taking a trip down the river Dee on a boat tour, I think she'd like that. We live between two rivers which might also explain why we've not had the snow yet. I really hope we do get some,
I was having a laugh with Sandra yesterday saying that if it snows when we have to take the old sofa out, we could make some snowmen and put them on the sofa, it would make such a funny photo wouldn't it? She did laugh....bless her.
Just watching Strictly Judge Rinder was good wasn't he? He's so funny with his facial expressions. We'll watch the X-Factor later, I've had to record it for Sandra as it overlaps Strictly, which she want to watch too.
For some reason they took the best of children in need off so it didn't record, I'm quite disappointed as I was looking forward to watching it. I wonder why they took it off.....very strange :-S

It's not pleasant is it Mel? Hope you are feeling better now. Your meal sounded lovely. I wasn't hungry but think I might make some scrambled eggs as I'm feeling a bit peckish now.
Did the hot chocolate work Mandy. There's nothing worse than fancying chocolate when you don't have any in, and once you start eating the chocolate you have for Christmas you can't stop. We've been very good this year, normally we eat something then have to replace it for Christmas day.
We've just finished watching Michael McIntyre, I forgot he was on, he's so funny. Did anyone else watch him? We're watching the X-Factor now, Sandra likes that programme.

We also watched Michael McIntiyre, Gill, he can make the most mundane subjects funny. He was on at the theatre belonging to the arts centre where I worked a couple of times, a lot of the comedians give performances there before going to the larger venues, they have someone in the wings advising them which of their jokes go down well with the audience, instead of taking a larger fee they sre given a % of the box office takings . I remember on his rider all he requested was a sandwich. Mandy, I also love chocolate but being diabetic I have to limit how much I eat. so a couple of squares of dark chocolate is what I have each day, I do eat more at Christmas can't resist the lindt boxes, you can get sugar free but eat too many of these and the effect is like taking exlax
Just going to empty the dishwasher then I am off to bed
Good night all .

I'm here Mel. I feel much better today after a really good nights sleep, maybe that's all I needed and the Lemsips yesterday, I don't have a sore throat or ear ache today which is great, I was so worried I was going to be ill on my birthday.
I'm listening to music after just putting some colouring on my hair, I've also put the meat in the oven so that is cooking slowly and I've done some dusting and I'm on my third load of washing. I'm hoping to get everything finished in a few hours so I can watch need for speed with OH and Sandra, it looked a good film so I recorded it so we could all watch it when OH was off work again.
I've had Jim, the new squirrel asking for food most of the morning, he kept leaving them while he took some to bury and by the time he came back the birds had eaten them, so he came to the back door on several occasions waiting for me to take more outside for him. He's much tamer than Rosie and stays quite close to me while I walk to the grass to put the nuts down, so I've said to OH and Sandra not to leave the back door open as I'm worried he might come in and we don't want that. At one point both Rosie and Jim were outside and I was calling them, thinking maybe I should of chosen different names for them, I felt quite silly calling their names in the back garden, the neighbours must think I'm a nutter LOL, but it brought a smile to my face at the same time.
How lovely to see all the comedians before they were famous Anne, did you get any autographs?
Hope Frank makes it on here today, he was missed yesterday <3

Yes he was and he was a naughty boy too. We like to know he is alright and not done anything silly.
You have got a lot done this morning Gill. I have just swept the patio and decking as it was all covered in leaves after last nights hard blow. The rain was coming into the back door bit where thered is a little cover. Its on the east side of the bungalow so with the usual westerly wind we don't get the rain in there and its where oh stands and has his ciggy.

Yes lots done already today Mel, I'm just about to rinse the colouring off my hair now and put on the conditioner, I leave that on for about an hour as the colouring dries my hair out and I can't get a brush through it if I don't leave the conditioner on for a long time, then of course comes the drying, that takes a while too, but at least it will look good for Wednesday. We are taking Sandra out Christmas shopping and to see her nan (OH's mum) tomorrow otherwise I'd of done it then.
It sounds like you've been busy sweeping up the leaves, that's the problem with this time of year, I had to put some wire mesh over my grids to stop the leaves going down the drains, plus it's easier to clear the grids then. I'm going to wait until all the leave have come off the apple tree then rake them all up in one go. At least when we take the apple tree down we won't have that problem again. We do get some leaves coming in from the neighbours trees but it shouldn't be as many as we have now.
Well, I'd better go and rinse my hair, be back later.

Hair rinsed and conditioner on, the meat smells lovely, I got a whole lamb leg for a tenner, it's to much for one meal so I'm going to make a stew with half of it and the rest we'll eat today with roast potatoes and veg yum yum
I've dug out an old CD full of music from the 70's it does lift the mood doesn't it? Not like today's music.
Going to get a cuppa now

I'm here for a Mo. We have to be out by 2,00 pm. Carolyn has invited us round for dinner. We have to pick Jean up before going which will take half an hour.
Leg still not behaving itself , but Ros said I didn't shout out during the night, so must have had a better night.
Will try to get back on here this evening, but you know me, can never be certain of doing it ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Dark damp sort of day here so I hope they have the heating on when we get there.

Enjoy your meal Frank. You will feel more refreshed after a decent night sleep .When does the new mattress arrive?
Crumbs Gill you sound like a bit of a whirlwind this morning with all you have managed to get done (including hair !! ) Rosie and Jim are a bit like pets for you :-D :-D..Good idea to keep the door shut though lol. I love the 70/80 s music .Mowtown has to be a real favourite of mine.
I quite like M McIntyre especially the bit when he gets a phone off someone and texts a message to everyone .I do love Peter Kay :-D
It was a fairly rough night but not too bad.Now it is very still and just really dark. I think our neighbours must be sick of our leaves. We have a very tall Ash tree in the front and the leaves get all over the pavement and peoples gardens :-S.Our front garden is completely covered .But I think we will wait until all the leaves are down before we get sweeping.Plus they are so wet now.It does look a dreadful mess.
Joint of Beef cooked ready for tonight.Potatoes per boiled, and Carrots ,Parsnips,Baby Turnips all ready just to pop in the oven . I have finally made a start on the Xmas cards. All GR ones LOL
Hannah is enjoying a walk in the New Forest this morning and seeing the ponies. She just sent me a pic of a couple of ponies on a village green outside a Pub . It seems to be getting darker and darker here at the moment.
I hope all Coughs,Colds and Sneezes are clearing up nicely now :-)
