Mandy I bet it smells lovely with the cake cooking :-D I must check with Chris to make sure he is 'feeding' ours properly lol
Chronicles of Narnia is on now .I thought I might watch it as we used to sit and watch them with the children when they were young. I am not sure I will enjoy this one as much as all the children it it have grown up !!(it doesn't seem quite the same). It's not really my kind of thing. So I doubt I will be able to stick with it.
James has just arrived home and says the Chronicles of Narnia was just his favourite when he was younger :-D. But he wants a bath now so won't be watching this one.

Nice to hear you're okay Frank, you had us worried there. Enjoy your meal, hope they have the heating on for you ;-)
Your place must smell lovely Mandy with the Christmas cake, it's a reminder Christmas is not far off isn't it?
So you've started your cards now Jane, that's a job I still have to do. We have just finished the cakes Sandra made the other day and she said she fancied some more so it looks like we might be baking again soon :-D Yes Rosie and Jim are a bit like pets, I never thought of it like that, but they are so tame I can see what you mean. I was drying my hair before and Jim was there waiting for food but I carried on drying my hair as I'd already fed him a few times today, he seemed to have disappeared then as OH went to go to the shed there he was, OH came back down the garden with Jim following. I'd finished drying my hair by then so got some more nuts for him.......he's very greedy, I've not seen Rosie eat any yet, I just saw her in and out of my pots at the bottom of the garden earlier.
Sandra's just told us it's five weeks today to Christmas day, it's come round very quickly this year I think? I don't know where the year has gone, it doesn't seem that long ago I was putting the Christmas tree up and now we are doing it again ;-)

Afternoon All, I bet Mandy's kitchen smells lovely. :-) I used to love scraping the bowl after making a Christmas cake.
Gill you have been busy haven't you. It's good getting your hair done in good time before your birthday. It will be looking it's best then as you say. I bet if your neighbours hear you calling Rosie and Jim it will make them smile and brighten their day so that can't be bad! :-)
I see Frank is out and about for lunch today. That will save him putting his Chef's hat on. :-D
I wasn't sure if I'd heard a rattle in the loft in the middle of the night, but OH said he'd heard it too so he looked up there this morning and another mouse had been caught. It looks like this one managed to run the gauntlet of all those traps in the garage!!
I like Michael McIntyre too....he hits the spot with everyday life jokes doesn't he. I enjoyed Strictly last night. Ed Balls is quite a likeable chap and quite funny. I'm sure he has lost quite a bit of weight as well. With all the razzamatazz, jazzy lighting and extra dancers I thought it was quite hard to see the dances properly.
I bit my bottom lip a few days ago and every day I seem to keep biting it in the same place, sometimes several times!! I couldn't believe I bit it again today while having lunch!! OH's dry comment was that I 'knew why that was didn't I........I have too much lip!!!' :-S lol.

Well that mouse ran out of luck then Ann LOL Your poor lip will feel so sore.I have often done that and for whatever reason you just keep biting the same bit :-S :-S.Is it the bit on the inside of your lip?The soft bit.It sometimes feels like an ulcer.I used to do the same with the inside of my cheek .It is a killer when you keep catching the same sore bit.
I love Ed Balls and Robert(judge) Rinder on Strictly. There is something about Ed Balls that is endearing. He is just loving the whole experience.Judge Rinder and his facial expressions !!!!!!. He just can't help looking like a Goldfish gasping for breath LOL..The both of them are just giving it everything :-D :-D So tonight it is Strictly, XF and the Jungle...... :-D Chris will just watch Strictly.James will watch none .I will probably watch all 3 ,but might fall asleep with the Jungle.

We had roast pork today with all the usual veg etc.
Frank, I hope you enjoyed your meal at Carolines it is nice sometimes not to have to cook on a Sunday.
Paul and the girls have just left Paul has now gone off to ice hockey, I don't think the Bracknell Bees are doing too well at the moment.
Ann I know how you are feeling with a sore mouth, I had a large ulcer after the dentist last week, I must have bit into it when it was dead I lost the temporary cap the other day but it hasn't caused any trouble and I'm back again on Wednesday.
Gill, glad to hear you are feeling better and you have been busy again today, Rosie & Jim certainly are feeling at home with you,
I never got any autographs when I worked at South Hill Park but back in the late 70's and early 80's one of the venues named "the Cellar Bar" these events then were named The Friday Alternative and had the comedians who were paid cash which they had to sign for but these had to be kept for the auditors, Lee Evans and Eddie Izzard were two of them and Lennie Henry would practice in the studio theatre with a very small audience, I loved working there as no two weeks were ever the same, I did see a lot of changes with the over 20 years I worked there
Going to watch Strictly as well,. a chap that works with Paul goes up to Blackpool every year he works behind the scenes ,as the Sunday episode is filmed on Saturday too so he has to be sworn to secrecy as to the results

Morning all
Horrible day here it's pouring with rain and we've got to out today, hope it clears up soon. It was freezing last night as we had a hard frost.
Hope your little hog is okay Mel, it's very late in the year for them to be out, have you had any frost yet? I should think it's a bit warmer where you are than up here.
Isn't that always the case Ann, if you have a sore you always seem to knock it or in your case bite it. Hope it heals soon. So the mouse got inside, at least it's gone now, lets hope you don't have anymore.
Hope you enjoyed your meal Frank, did they have the heating on in the end?
It sounds like you've met lots of famous people over the years Anne, although they weren't that famous at the time I suppose, but looking back now you have all those great memories to treasure.
Well, we didn't watch need for speed in the end, OH and I decided to watch the first one of Victoria Slum and ended up watching the whole lot while Sandra caught up with the programmes she recorded for herself on her TV. Did anyone else see Victoria Slum it was very interesting, but quite sad too.
I still haven't started watching Poldark yet, I really should make some time to watch it before the next series comes on.
We did get a chance to watch the results of Strictly but haven't seen the results of X-Factor yet, we'll probably watch that later when we get in from the shops.
Better go and get ready to go out. Hope the weather is better for everyone else and not as wet as it is here <3

Morning all,
Well it wet wet wet here Gill. Been raining all night I think.
I saw that very tiny hog again last night and when it had finished eating it went under our decking between the two ponds so if it has a nest there it is very sheltered and near the food. I tried to take a pic but had'nt got the camera on the right setting so its very dark. Must get oh to download them for me again.
He is buying me a new camera for Christmas. Well actually I think it arrived the other day and he squirreled it away.
Just having a COT and then I will get something to eat as we did'nt have our cheese and biccies laast night. I did a huge scone with butter and jam a bit earlier with a cuppa and I think that finished us both off as to appetite.

We're still here Mel, the weather has got worse, it's really pouring down now, so we can't decided whether to go out or not. We want to go shopping but don't want to wander around in the rain.......decisions decisions :-S :-S
It's nice to know that your little hog has found somewhere to nest and near the food too, so that's good <3

Decision's been made, we are staying in today, I've just checked the weather for this week and apart from today it's going to be dry, so we'll go shopping another day this week instead.
Sandra and I are just about to watch the results of the X-Factor and then I have a couple of Christmas films I recorded which we're going to watch after that.
I made a big pan of lamb stew yesterday so we're going to have a bowl of that to warm us up. I've put the heating on and the fire is on too, so we're thawing out nicely now :-) :-)

Afternoon my lovelies, What a filthy day, It rain all night here and is tipping it down here now. It's almost dark we have been sitting around in our dressing gowns since we got up at 9.00 am Ros got my a pair of KIPPERS which I had for breakfast. They stank the bungalow out. We have had the kitchen window open and used fresh air spray.
We had a proper CHRISTMAS DINNER yesterday. Soon after we got to J & Cs another two friends arrived, so there were SEVEN of us Everywhere was .lovely and warm and we sat eating, drinking and talking to well after 6.00 pm. We took Jean home, to save Carolyn having to get her car out.
I have finally given in to Ros ringing the Surgeon about my knee. John had one done in December and the other in March. Sally (another guest) had hers done last year, and they are both fine. I have an appointment for 7.30 on Friday.
This week seems to be busy, Nurse this afternoon for my injection, Tomorrow the Hospital about my eyes. Thursday the NEW bed arrives. Friday the old one will be collected by the Heart Foundation then the Surgeon in the Evening.
I see you had a bargain with the Turkey's Mandy. I did mention it in a previous post that I LOST AGAIN !!!
Glad you are all keeping well/busy with Christmas. I am thinking of asking Conrad and Jan if they would invite Harvey, Julia and Lewis down to Devon for Christmas. Jo and Ella will be moving into their new home next week, so there will be plenty of room for Harvey and Family to stay. We haven't been together as a family at Christmas since he lived in Edith Weston a w years ago.
Better get showered and dressed as I have to be at the nurse for 2.30 pm.

Afternoon All,
Well it's raining cats and dogs here at the moment. We went out earlier but still got soaked despite having waterproof jackets on. The wind just blew it all over our glasses and on our legs.
Ed Balls should have gone ages ago based on his dancing Mel. I still like how he was prepared to give it a go and his all !! lol. I really like Judge Rinder too, because he is clever, polite, kind and well spoken, but I doubt he will be good enough to win. Danny is my favourite for that spot!! That little hog sounds like he has found a nice dry spot under your decking. Surely he won't be heavy enough to survive a winter, or maybe he will if you keep feeding him though.
Frank, it's a good idea to have a word with your surgeon to make sure everything is ok with your knee. Yuk Kipper smell is horrid and hard to get rid of! I hope your family christmas idea works out for you and that they haven't made other arrangements yet.
Anne I have a trip to the dentist too in the next fortnight. I hope nothing needs doing. :-S I have managed to bite my lip again today, just as it was getting less sore, but not too hard this time.
Gill, staying in is a good idea today while this heavy rain is about. We loved The Victorian Slum, it was very interesting.
OH is off to a meeting soon and I think I am going to redo the beading differently on my bangle......it looks a bit too heavy on beads!

Afternoon all,
Not so cold here today but it's been raining off and on all day ,i did manage to get a bit of shopping done and the post office in between the showers.
Frank its best to get the knee checked out if you think it's not coming along like it should , it will put your mind to rest to see the surgeon and talk it over with him.
I don't blame you for staying put today Gill if the rest of the week is suppose to be better you'll be able to go shopping then no point getting cold and wet if you don't have too.
Oh Ann its horrible when you keep biting on a sore place in your mouth , i hate it too when you've been asleep and you wake up biting on the side of your mouth ,oh i have to slowly ease the cheek from my teeth , oh its a pinch !!
I hope the little hog can get fattened up in time for his winters sleep Mel, sounds as if he has a nice little sheltered spot under the decking he just needs to get plenty of food into his self to survive.
I thought it might be Greg who would leave on the dancing this week , Ed must be next to go then it will be hard to pick who's next , i like Danny .
I said i would get a photo of Max and send on but its a job to get one with these dark days the ones i have taken you have a job to see him as he is so black !! He did like funny earlier ,he has a hard plastic dummy chew and he sat in the kitchen with it in his mouth just like a baby by the time i got the camera he had moved.

What a shame Max moved Mandy, that would of been such a funny photo to keep. You never know he might do it again, have your camera handy just in case.
Good idea to see the surgeon Frank, you do seem to be in a lot of pain, much more than you should be by now surely? I hope he can help you. It sounds like you had a great time out, the Christmas dinner sounded lovely and what a lot of company. Hope your Christmas idea comes to fruition I'll keep my fingers crossed for you I fancied some kippers the other day but couldn't find any in Tesco's, they are so nice but like you say stink the place out a lot.
Yes the Victorian Slum was interesting Ann, I remember watching a programme very similar with celebrities in and Ann Widdecombe (one of the celebs) kept refusing to do things, she'd of never survived back then with that attitude. It does make you realise how lucky we are nowadays though. Sorry to hear you've bitten your lip again, at least it wasn't as bad this time, lets hope it doesn't happen again and it soon heals <3
Sandra and I like Danny on Strictly too and Judge Rinder he's so funny, I wouldn't mind if he won, can you imagine his reaction if he did win?
Well, the weather had got worse, our garden is water logged now and isn't draining away at all so you're not on your own Mel. Let's hope the weather forecast is right and it isn't raining for the rest of the week so our gardens can dry out a bit. I'm so glad we decided to stay in today, all our shopping would of got really wet and ruined, not to mention how wet we would of got :-( much better to wait a few days until we have a dry day.
