Always good doing a Dummy run Mandy.I wouldn't dare cook anything to serve up to anyone else(visitors) unless I had tried it out beforehand .
Mine was just a see what I can do thing lol. Anything pastry wise (other than filo ) is not good for me.I think my hands are always too warm to handle pastry .Maybe I should run my hands under cold water or something before touching ready to roll pastry ..Chris has cold hands so maybe he should be the pastry chef :-D

Fitz is coming for lunch tomorrow (with stockings to be put on again) :-S.. He said he can't bare to keep them on any longer and is going to take them off tonight..I said as long as he has nice clean feet and smelling sweet I will do the job again. He is a nightmare !!..G He needs to keep wearing them for another couple of weeks.

They must be horrid to wear though Jane. I don't blame him if they are tight fitting. Must feel strange in bed too. Mum had them on while she was in hospital but I don't remember her having them when she was home.

Just watched Master Cheif and what a mess the scot got into with his pasta.

Iv'e just found those Christmas Cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were under something I bought for Di.

Another dull and dreary day here so how is it with you lot.

Thanks to Kim if you do look in for the card it is just my kind of thing as I just love red and green for Christmas cards and it even has Robbie and his wife on it.

Nothing planned for today and I don't think I have to go out. We'll see.

Gill has a fault on her phoneline but she sends you all thanks for her cards.

She says it could take up to a week to fix so she won't be around for a while.

Lovely bright morning the sun is trying to peep through the cloud but i think rain is on the way later .

Colin has his Arthritis review later this morning so i think we're going to walk to the doctors as it's dry .

Gill said it was only an introduction to the class last night and it really starts after Christmas.

I've got my internet connection back but no dial tone on my phone.

I was so disappointed I couldn't get online this morning, but pleased I can get on now, not sure how long my connection will last though.

Thanks everyone for my cards and birthday wishes. Sandra had a lovely flower arrangement sent to me this morning I've taken a photo and will hopefully work out how to send it in an email soon, along with the photo's I took of Sandra's new room and pink Christmas tree.

The evening class was very interesting and I met a woman there called Sharon, she is a chatter box just like me and we were sitting next to each other on one side of the table, we were told that we were on the naughty side of the table as the other three ladies hardly spoke and we were doing most of the talking and asking of questions. The teacher was brilliant and explained everything in details although I did feel she talked a lot so it only left us a short time to do some sewing. She showed us how to cut out patterns and we all had a go at darts, then she took us down to the shop where we looked at all the different materials and patterns.

This morning my OH gave me a couple of dress patterns and I found a book I had on how to alter shop bought patterns so they fit me better. I will have a read of that later. OH got me a lovely ring but it's a bit to big so we're going to the jewellers in a bit. He said he wasn't sure if I wanted a new engagement ring as my last one broke or an eternity ring, he plumbed for the engagement ring but I said I'd prefer the eternity ring instead, I felt a bit awkward saying that but he's absolutely fine with it, so I'm going to choose one today. I've always wanted a full eternity ring so he's happy with me changing it. He's so understanding.
I got a book on the year I was born off Michelle and a lovely silver trinket box with mum on it which is lovely as OH got me a lovely pair of earrings so I can put them in the trinket box.

Well, I'd better go before I lose my connection, I'll try and get back on here later if I can. Thanks again for the lovely cards <3

Afternoon to all,

Happy Birthday Gill.

What a day I had yesterday. Hospital for 2.00 pm wasn't seen until 2.30 Had light shining in my eyes with flashing lights all around the screen. You had to click each time you saw the light appear. Then into see the Optician who put drops in my eyes and looked around both eyes for it seemed an age. Go and sit in the waiting area I eill call you back soon.. Back in, more drops and eye inspection.She then informed me that my Cataracts were ripe in my left eye and should be removed (about 3 months wait) She then informed me I wouldn't be able to see properly for about SIX HOURS. We finally got out of there at about 5.00 pm.

Ros drove us to our nice pub/restaurant for a meal. The car lights, street light were like twinkling stars. and really seemed strange to me. I could hardly read the Menu, The journey home was like driving in a wonderland of lights. I couldn't watch T.V. so sat with my eyes closed. At about 10.30. I went to change into my dressing gown and took my sleeping tablet. I went back in the lounge and within 15 minutes, got up to go to bed, and FELL FLAT ON MY FACE. Ros couldn't get me up, so called TONY. Between them they got me into bed and I was asleep within seconds.

DID I GET TOLD OFF THIS MORNING !!!!

Frank it sounds like you are going through what mum went through with your eyes. Its a good idea to take a pair of sunglasses with you if you have to go again, so you can put them on after you come out as the drops open your pupils right up.

Oh has had a Cataract done in his eye he injured with a stone coming up from the strimmer. Hit him right in the eye and scratch the lens. He had a new lens in his eye too.

I have done two lots of washing of which one lot is on the rads and the other in the dryer. I have been in my shed and fixed up a cane on the inside of the roof over my bench and have hung 7 camping battery lights on it so should have a good bit of light in there for when I do my wreaths. Got the advent stand and ring out ready to do for the 1st December for the church so I am pleased with what I have done this morning.

Great that Gill got on here in the end. What a lovely lot of presents you have. I hope you find the right ring in the shop today and what a lovely idea of your oh's bless him. Can't wait now to see the photo and one of the garden please? <3

Mel I don't have any sunglasses, so I just close my eyes. The lady did say my vision would improve, so that I will only need reading gasses after the operation. I hope it's soon as I am having trouble reading a book or newspaper.

On FB there is a stain glass company advertising from Stoke Breurne who does repairs. We have an old roundel that was in Ros's mothers window. It got damaged when I took it out. So we are going to take it over for him to price up any works that needs doing. Conrad has a round window which he thinks this might fit. Ros isn't to keen on letting him have it, in case they sell up and move, and leave it there.

Conrad may have to go back to Spain on the 2nd January. So Jan said to Ros why don't we stay for an extra couple of weeks, to keep her company, so it looks like that might be on the cards.

Haven't heard anymore regarding Harvey and Co. coming down for Christmas, so I won't push the subject.

Been back to the dentist today to have the permanent cap fitted, he said not to eat anything on that side today, I only had tomato soup at lunch time but will have to be careful at dinner time.

I haven't heard from Abbie today but no news in good news and I will be seeing her on Sunday, for once I don't think it was anything to do with her step father as that would be adding insult to injury.

I have been sad today as it's three years ago since Peter passed away. I also read earlier about a Boxer with Cancer who's owner has done him a bucket list so that also made me tearful

I keep meaning to start writing my Christmas cards but I won't be posting them yet so plenty of time, I also don't want to leave present wrapping too late either

Well don't talk to me about exercise !!!!! We went over to Stoke Bruerne this afternoon. From where you park the car it's about a mile and a half to the place where this chap has a shed on the side of the canal near the tunnel entrance.. After the walk there and back we were both completely KNACKERED. The chap makes stained glass things of every description. He does a lot of Commission work also.He is going to repair/replace the glass that is chipped and give it a good clean for £40.00 and will deliver it to us when it's ready. So I thought that was a good price. He has a Christmas tree in the hut covered in glass decorations that he has made. It must be a beautiful place to work in the summer, but no way would I want to be there this weather. !!!

Ros has made a stew for tonight/tomorrow. She needed some more veg to add to it, so called in to Aldi at Towcester. She left me sitting in the car for almost an hour, while she had a mooch around. I wasn't too pleased sitting there all that time.

Anne, It must be a sad time for you at present. My thoughts are with you.


Was thinking of venturing out this evening to watch the football at the pub, but it has turned sooooo cold out now, I will pass, and watch T.V. as I can see today. !!!!

The stew is smelling wonderful, I can't wait to get that down me tonight. She makes it in a big saucepan and it lasts us TWO DAYS.

I was out in the garden this afternoon and I managed to clean the bantams run out a bit. With it being so wet I hav'nt been able to sweep it out and it got all claggy so I let them out and had a good scrape out. My back is now telling me I have overdone it a bit.

I did do a few more cards before doing the banties so I am getting there. We have quite a few to send to family between the two of us. I must check with aunty Joy Janet's address as I am not sure I still have her current one. I think it is right but best to check. If I ring Joy I will never get off the phone as she can talk the hind legs off a donkey and then suddenly say I must go now and she's gone!!!!!!!!!!

Nice dry morning but very cloudy ,not a lot happening here today ,we might go to Bernard Matthews again as son and DIL want to get a few bits so we will go with them ,my friend did say she wouldn't mind having one of those turkey crowns so I'll see if i can get another one for her .
