I have loads of rechargable batteries Mandy and lots of chargers too. I think they are great as you always need batteries these days for everything it seems.

Done my daily challenges and am just taking my pills with some apricot wheats.

Morning my sweeties, evening Kim,

Here we sit waiting for a telephone call from Benson for Beds regarding delivery of the new mattress. We haven't attempted to get the old one off the bed. I said wait till they ring to say they are coming, then I will ASK NICELY if they can take the old mattress off the bed for us. It's so heavy so it will be good if they will.

My poor old knee wouldn't/didn't settle down last night. Tight as a tics A#S# all evening, and had me awake many time during the night. I was up by 5.30 am making tea and putting the heating on.

Ros has washed all the bedding and it's on the line having a good blow..I haven't been out there today, but it looks cold.

Would you believe I HAD LOST THE ABOVE POST and started again. Then the new one disappeared and the OLD ONE CAME BACK.

Like most of you we need batteries and have the chargers all over the place.

I trust you are all well, will try to get back later.

Afternoon All,

First apologies to Gill for not wishing you Happy Birthday yesterday and I hope you had a nice day. You'll see why not as you read on! I hope you get to have your flu jab today Mel and Frank, once FIL got his cataracts done he was like a new man!

On Tuesday I went to bed around teatime with this cough and body aches. OH went off to his meeting and I fell asleep, only to wake up feeling worse and with my heart racing! I dug out my sports heart rate monitor and my heart rate was double normal. I tried breathing exercises and an extra beta blocker like the doctor advised to no effect and after half an hour had to ring OH who came straight home and took me to A&E. They were brilliant this time and I was put in a wheelchair straightaway and taken to a large reception area, but OMG what a scene. It was like a log jam in a river with beds and wheelchairs and people sitting and standing everywhere with hardly room between. They whipped my cardigan off straightaway as my temperature was high. After an xray, intravenous antibiotic as well as tablet antibiotics, intravenous paracetamol, then saline drip, blood tests, ECG and urine tests I was taken by ambulance to another hospital at about 1.00am. They told me when I got there that it was thought I had pneumonia. Blood tests had shown I had an infection and that was what had driven up my heart rate this time. I was put in a bed at the end only 6 feet away from the nurses station so no chance of any sleep, not that I could have slept even though my heart rate had dropped a little by then. I was seen by 3 different doctors yesterday and they thought the xray the other hospital did wasn't very clear, but that I had a bad chest infection rather than pneumonia. What was a puzzle to the last (and most senior) doctor who saw me was that the infection had driven my heart rate up so high despite the lowering effects of the beta blocker. He said it was also a contradiction to be treated for an underactive thyroid, yet need a betablocker to slow my heart rate which is what happened a couple of years ago. If I get any more episodes he said I should ask to be referred to a cardiologist again. After more blood tests and waiting for the results, they adjusted the antibiotics I have to take and because my heart rate and temperature were in normal ranges again they let me go home. Beds are so short now, as soon as I was ready to be discharged I was taken to a small kind of holding room that was in semi darkness. It had 2 very old patients in there, fast asleep, with relatives and nurses sitting with them in total silence, well apart from a few acted out dreams. I saw the shock on OH's face at me being taken in there. He said it was just like sitting with each of his parents before they died! I had thought it was like God's waiting room myself. Anyway, before long they came and moved me to a seated area to wait for my medication..........why does that always take so long?? Once I got home I slept till 8.00pm, had a snack, then slept till 6.30pm this morning. After a shower and hairwash this morning I feel more human again, but had strict instructions from the hospital to take it easy for a while. OH was with me all the time till 6.00am yesterday morning when he popped home for a shower and bite to eat before coming back. I feel up to eating at our thursday carvery now, so when he gets back from his meeting this morning, we'll do that. :-) I'll catch up with the threads later.

O Ann poor you and I know just what you man as when I went in thats more of less what happened to me. Its such a shock to the sytem. I hope these new antibiotics work this time and you start to feel more like yourself soon. It is very frightening when something like this happens. I had wondered why you had'nt posted. Dos'nt it seems ages and ages when you are in hospital too the day goes on forever. I kept thinking of all the things I should be doing.

Well we have now both been stabbed at the docs so thats over and done with for another year.

Frank Report 24 Nov 2016 15:41

Poor old you Ann, I am pleased to hear you were well enough and prepared to go to the Carvery, I hope you enjoyed it. I bet you were wondering where you were in that room will the old women.

Still no Mattress. I rang at two o/clock to see when it might arrive. PM delivery. Could be after 6.00 pm depending how many drops they have and the traffic. Good job we didn't need to go out this afternoon.

Ros got all her washing dried, ironed and it's AIRING ON THE RADIATORS (SORRY). blooming caps. !!!
Val next door puts hers out on her line before Ros and it's still there, getting damp. !!!!

Had a Jacket Spud at lunchtime with Ham and Cheese. I don't know if I will want any stew tonight as move.I feel full up.

Where is everyone today ?? Have been watching the Country property move. The poor woman only wanted a SMALL GARDEN so they showed her with a property with 7 acres. :-P :-P .What a waste of time. Not sure how it will end up.

Gillx Report 24 Nov 2016 15:42

Oh Ann, I'm so sorry to hear you've had to go to hospital, hopefully you're on the mend now. No need to apologise so long as you are alright. Hope you had a good time at the carvery today.

It sounds like you've had a time of it lately Frank, fancy taking your sleepers before getting into bed, best not to make that mistake again. Hope the men can take your old mattress away for you. You said it was heavy so you can't be doing it yourself.

Sorry to hear of your sad day yesterday Anne, hope you are feeling a little better today.

I've PM'd you Mel, it went through twice for some reason :-S and just after I sent it I lost my connection again. I still don't have a dial tone on my phone so I guess the problem isn't fixed properly yet. Hope it doesn't take to long as I never know if my connection is going to stay on or not.

My mum and sister visited us this morning and my sister kindly took some photo's of the flowers Sandra got me for my birthday and some photo's of Sandra's bedroom, then emailed them to me, so if my connection stays on I will be able to forward the email to you all. Unfortunately I forgot to ask my sister to take a photo of the garden so I don't have one yet, but to be honest there really isn't anything to see at the moment apart from a load of leaves from the apple tree. We are hoping to add some nice colourful plants in the spring so when everything is pretty I'll sort out a photo and send it to you all.

Well, I'd better post this incase I lose my connection again. I'll try and get back later <3

It hasn't been my best year Mel. Two funerals, the TIA clinic, then the biopsy at the breast clinic, then the wasp stings, a sore throat for over a month and now this. Thankfully, all the other tests were normal so I've had a good checkup! :-) One lady about my age was sitting on some chairs opposite me all night. I saw her with carrier bags when I was waiting for meds and heard her tell someone that she'd waited all night for a bed so I was luckier than her.

OH made me smile when he got home. It was a training course he was on this morning and they'd been given a handout. He scanned it quickly then pointed out a typo error to the trainer. Instead of saying they could take a public exam, it said they could take a 'pubic exam'!! Not many volunteers for that I expect!!! lol.

As expected, it was very quiet where we went today, only 2 other couples there, so we had a peaceful meal. We called at the farm and ordered the turkey on the way home and collected my prescription from the chemist and that's me done for the day now. I still haven't got much voice with this dratted cough so I might do some more beading. :-)

It sounds like you had fun and games after taking your sleeper in the chair Frank. Not a good idea though as Ros would have been pointing out!! Did you agree on which pictures to put up in the end? Yes, I told OH I would sooner have been parked on my trolley in a corridor than be put in that room Frank. I found myself wondering if the mortuary was close by!! I hope you can get your knee more comfy on the new mattress.

Good you have at last managed to have your flu jabs Mel. It's a nuisance to have to cancel things like that.

I'm looking forward to seeing your pics of your flowers and of Sandra's bedroom Gill.

Anne, I can't imagine how hard each anniversary must be and how sad you must feel at those times especially. I hope it gets a little easier as time goes by.

Looking forward to the pics from Gill. I must go and see what she pm'd me about.

Just starting to get dark here so I better go and feedthe hogs and shut the girls in then it will be sheep sh*t pie for dinner tonight so I better get on with that too. Another day when not a lot hs been done.

Oh Ann you poor old thing you are going through it ,i hope this lot of antibiotics will do the trick , it must be really scary when your heart races like that and it had to be when you were on your own .
By the sound of things you were lucky to get a bed ,they soon ship you out these days too, my Nephew the one who had the heart op ,he was made to sit and wait in a side room and because it was quite a journey for some one to pick him up he sat in there most of the day , he had ordered a lunch but didn't get it as he was off the ward ,i think he said they found him a sandwich in the end , when he came out there was no one in his bed it hadn't even been stripped !! so he could have had a rest on the bed instead of the chair .

Looking forward to seeing Sandra's room and your birthday flowers Gill .

I hope your mattress turns up Frank , it was a good job you hadn't disposed of your old one or you'd be in a right muddle .

We went to Bernard Matthews again and i got my friend her M& S Chestnut Stuffed Turkey Crown ,i also got a smaller M&S Chestnut Stuffed Turkey Crown for three pound ,no ill store in the freezer and will come in handy when the family come .
They had CHOCOLATE !! too ,so i had to get some :-D :-D :-D :-D

Jane Report 24 Nov 2016 17:49

Crikey Ann,another scary time for you :-(...At least you seem to have been treated properly and swiftly this time and tests were all ok. That room sounded grim that you had to wait in :-S. Waiting for meds before discharge is often an long time.I think it is often due to the fact that the Dr needed to write up the prescriptions will have been busy with other patients or called away for an emergency or something.
At least you are home again and sounding much better :-D..I am glad that you felt able to go to the carvery and enjoy a peaceful lunch.

Has the mattress arrived yet Frank??? I do hope the men will take of the old one for you. Here's hoping for a nice comfortable sleep tonight.

I haven't gone through the posts properly .I have been feeling a bit yucky today after spending a fair bit of the night up and down to the loo with a right old upset tummy.I thought at one point it was going to be a both end upset so sat with the inner bit of the bathroom bin ready beside me .But thankfully I didn't need that. It just left me all a bit weak and wabbit today.
So I just been doing Xmas cards and wrapping a few presents .A bit of ironing and a quick clean of the bathroom floor. Now I feel pooped lol. Just Sausages and potato wedges with mushrooms and peas tonight. That will have to do. I put the sausages in just now ,and then got a message from James to say he is going ot be pretty late again. So his sausages can just be kept hot and I will put the wedges in when he lets me know he is on the way.

I am looking forward to WDYTYA tonight with Danny Dyer(? sp) Also looking forward to ant pics from you Gill :-D :-D

Mandy I reckon we should all put our orders for Turkeys with you :-D :-D There seem to be some great bargains.
Christmas seems to be approaching really quickly now. It will be here and gone before we know it lol
Our little garden shop has a load of Xmas trees in already.I'm sure this is earlier than last year.James and iwll do our usual trip together to get ours about 2 weeks before the big day. Chris will be having a groan soon when he has to go up in the loft to get the decs down.
I keep thinking this screen on the lap top looks filthy, but have just realised it is my specs that need a good clean :-S

MillymollyAmanda Report 24 Nov 2016 18:51

Yes Jane its a shame your not all nearer as the turkeys are a very good buy when you think what they sell for in M&S .
I also bought some large Turkey Breasts with stuffing and bacon topping ,they were 50p each and we had one the other night it was lovely , plenty of meat for the two of us ,DIL cooked two of them and they fed all the children and two adults .

I think the yucky tummy is some thing going about as they say ,i was like that a few nights ago ,sat on the loo and needed a bowl but only the once then i felt ok .

I think it might be fun and games here this year with the christmas tree and Max LOL i carn't see him leaving the tree alone .

Good evening All

Thank you all for your good wishes and understanding how I feel

Ann, sorry to hear about your scary episode but glad all seems ok now, they certainly pulled out all the stops to make sure you were diagnosed quickly. Pleased for you that you had a peaceful meal at the carvery.

Has your new mattress arrived yet Frank? I hope it will prove just right for your comfort and Ros's too of course.

Sainsbury delivered this morning, I'm starting getting some Christmas stuff in biscuits, chocolates and a pudding plus took advantage of the 25% offer off on wine if buying 6 bottles or more, I shall do the same next week as it's still on then.

Going to watch Who Do You Think You Are tonight it's Danny Dyer, Dyer was my M.I.L. maiden name and it was her line that the Boleyn family came from

Jane sorry to hear you've had an upset Tummy and hope you are feeling better now, there are so many things going around at the moment.

Mandy you are getting some good bargains at the Bernard Matthews shop it makes you wonder how much profits they make from the M&S sales

Annx

Annx Report 24 Nov 2016 19:17

Oh Jane it is horrid when you feel like that.........you just will the time to pass quickly and to start to feel a bit better. It's such a relief when you feel you have turned the corner and does leave you washed out as you say.

I think the holdup was probably at the pharmacy. The Staff Nurse came and told me when the pharmacy was sent the request for my meds which was good. I suppose otherwise some patients get ratty with them thinking delays are their fault!

It seems it may be common practice to do that now then Mandy if your nephew had to wait elsewhere too. Pity they didn't seem to need his bed as quickly though! I hope he is doing well now after his operation. My word more bargain turkeys today then! They really are bargains too and I bet your friend was chuffed. I don't expect the chocolate had such bargain prices. :-)

Jane I have a feeling OH won't be clambering in the loft for the decs, there was a slight hint today he wasn't looking forward to it, but he may well change his mind in a week or two. It is so awkward climbing up there even with a loft ladder and some of the boxes are almost too big to get through the hole! If we could get the garage mouse free and sort some of MIL and FIL's stuff we could put them in there.

Jane

Jane Report 24 Nov 2016 20:01

Could be an interesting programme for you tonight Anne :-D...I remember you saying about the Boleyn connection.

My tummy seems fine now.I don't think it was a bug Mandy. More likely the fact I had eaten bread and pastry :-S :-S Plus the quiche had lots of Leek in.
I never use to be as intolerant to foods as I am these days.

WDYTYA on now :-D

Frank Report 24 Nov 2016 20:55

New mattress arrived about 5.00 pm. They took the old mattress off the bed, and that sits in the lounge ready for the Heart Foundation to collect tomorrow between 7.00 am and 1.00 pm I hope it's later !!!

The mattress looks so big and firm, I just hope I can sleep on it. I made ROS laugh this evening when I said "shall we christen the mattress tonight"

It's been soaps from 7.00 pm I just couldn't sit through Corrie as well. The Jungle is on later, which I don't think is as good as in the past. But that might be me. "MR GRUMPY"

Mandy it might be worth getting a refrigerated van, and come over to you and make a BULK PURCHASE. I could soon sell them around the village.

Off for a beer now, see you all in the morning.
