Poor you Jane as it horrid when you get a day like you have just had. I am pleased you feel better now though and hope you're back to your old self tomorrow after a good nights sleep.
Thanks to Gill for the pics and Sandra's room looks very modern now and light and pink. I like the little pic you did for her room too. Just a nice little touch.
Arms a little sore tonight.
They say its going to be a nice day tomorrow so I think I will put the towels in the washer tonight in the hope of getting them dry tomorrow.
Right off to see my program now and WDYTYA.

Morning all
Very frosty morning here, everywhere is white.
I had the same problem as you last night Jane, with an upset tummy, I seem to be okay this morning though. Hope you are feeling better today.
So the new mattress arrived okay then Frank, did you get a better nights sleep? It was nice of them to take the old mattress off for you wasn't it?
You're doing okay with your bargains Mandy, I really should sort out my freezer and buy my turkey soon or there'll only be big ones left which would leave to much over for us.
How's your arm today Mel, hope it's not so sore.
We were going to go out shopping today with it being Black Friday, but after seeing all the frost this morning we've decided not to bother. If it warms up a bit later we may venture out.
Going to watch WDYTYA now, I recorded it last night.

Morning all,Evening Kim, at the Not a good night's sleep. I think the mattress is so firm we will need a few days to get use to it. The Heart Foundation took the old one away at about 10.00 am. this morning.
Ros is off to the cinema this morning with Carolyn. Then they are going to use their vouchers at the garden centre. So who knows what she will come back with. ;-) ;-)
Looking forward (NOT) to seeing the surgeon tonight at 8.00 pm. I just hope everything is alright inside the knee, as I don't think I would be prepared to go through another operation. It's been a pain in the neck all night, and this morning. I am getting fed up with it now. It has been FOUR MONTHS since I had it done. I was/am hoping it will be alright for our trip to Devon, as I would like to walk along the seafront and round thr harbour.
Mel. If I remember to take my little book with me, I might give you ring and come over to see you one day.
It's a beautiful sunny morning here. The Temp is 7 degrees outside, so not very warm. I don't think I will be venturing out for a walk. The heater is on in the lounge, so I will sit and watch a few nature programmes while MADAM is out.
Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning Jane/Gill. There is a lot of tummy upsets going around, I have been visiting "MY WHITE FRIEND" quite a few times this last few days.

Morning you early lot and evening Kim,
The sun has got it's hat on hip hip hip hooray the sun has got its hat on and its coming out today.
Washing is on the line and the day is fine so I think I will strip the bed and wash that too.
Gill as its Black Friday its best not to go out I think. People rushing about here and there trying to get the best bargans. Shame though as its such a nice day after the grey days we've had lately. It makes you feel good when the sun shines.
How's our Ann this morning I hope you had a restfull night.
Frank sorry to here you "Christening " of the mattress was'nt a great success but I don't think you ever sleep well the first night of a new one. We did'nt with ours but now I would'nt be without it. We bought ours from Benson's for beds and were laying on a mattress in the hsop that measured you up so oh's side is harder than mine but not by a lot. They do it on the computer. Its great.
I hope you have a better night tonight. It dos'nt seem like 4 months since your op and I should think that you should be feeling less pain by now. Hope you get on ok with the surgeon.

The sun is shinning here but it's still cold. OH isn't feeling very well so I've made him an appointment with the doctor for 2.20pm, he's had a bad cough for ages now and his asthma is playing up, his eyes are sore too so hopefully the doc will be able to help. We've decided not to bother going shopping today Mel, it's still cold and OH doesn't feel up to it.
Hope all goes well with the surgeon tonight Frank, I'm sure you shouldn't be in this much pain after 4 months. Maybe there is something he can do for you without having to have another op. Sorry to hear you didn't have a good nights sleep, but like Mel said it takes time to get used to a new mattress.
My tummy is much better today, I think it might of been something I ate as it only lasted a few hours and I'm okay now.
We are going to take the last sofa apart over the weekend, OH did one yesterday and took it down the tip, but the next one is the one we made ourselves so OH wants the wood etc... back so he can use it again for something else. The new sofa's are arriving on Monday so we need the old ones gone by then. We decided not to bother with a new carpet as I said all this one needs is a good clean, it got a bit dirty when we were doing the garden over the summer. I have a good carpet cleaner so once the sofa's are out of the way I'll give it a quick going over so it's done by Monday.
Sandra is looking forward to them arriving as I said we could put the Christmas tree up once the new sofa's are here, although we will have to wait until OH knows what his shifts are at work. He booked a holiday off work for the week of my birthday so doesn't know when he's back in work as the new shifts hadn't been done before his holiday started. He's going to call into work on his way back from the doctors later, so I'll be able to plan a day for the tree to go up....that'll please Sandra.
Just catching up with Masterchef at the moment, Sandra and I enjoy that programme, then we're going to watch another Christmas film while OH is out.

Washing blowing lovely on the line but I can't get the cover and bottom sheets out yet as there is no room on my three lines. Blast I may bring the two big bath sheets in and pop them in the dryer as they have had a good blow at least then I can get the duvet cover ou t and the bottom sheet can go on a rad.

Afternoon All,
Didn't have a great Night Mel. I looked up the antibiotic side effects this morning and it said 'insomnia' in the list so maybe I can't expect too much!! lol I haven't fancied food much today either, but had a small jacket pot with tuna and sweetcorn and nice fresh salad for lunch. OH went food shopping with a list this morning and got everything on the list which was good.
I had some small beads arrive from China today and was very surprised to see they put your telephone number on the address label. I hadn't noticed that before.
Gill, Sandra's room looks lovely and I like the pink rose lights, also the twig lights. No wonder she is thrilled with it. Sorry your OH isn't well, but he's sensible to stay in. It seems there are all sorts of bugs about at the moment.
I like a firm mattress Frank, but some can be too firm. You could always get a mattress topper to put on top. That would make it a bit softer against the bones but still be firm support. You will have to see after giving it a bit of time. I had a chuckle too at the thought of the 'christening'. I hope the surgeon is able to help with some advice with your knee. It is a long time to have pain and it must be so frustrating you still can't walk about much.
Glad you are feeling better too Mandy. I had to smile at the thought of Max and the Christmas Tree. Apart from anything else might he cock his leg if he thinks he is outside!
OH has gone for a lie down.........I think this week has about done him in!!

Good Afternoon Everyone
Ann sorry to hear you also had a bad nights sleep, we all seem to have had health issues these last few weeks lets hope everyone is feeling and sleeping better by Christmas
It's been bright but very cold here, I have been busy cleaning this morning, bathroom, cloak room and I've vacuumed everywhere plus dusted. I washed the towels and they went straight into the tumbler drier as we have very hard water here if they are hung out to dry they go as stiff as a board and I do like fluffy towels
Loved the photos Gill, Sandra's room with the little pink tree is so pretty, no wonder she is made up with it. Your Birthday flowers are gorgeous it's nice to have a photo of them to keep. Hope your OH is feeling better.and the doctor was able to prescribe something for him
Frank good luck with your appointment, I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight firm mattresses do take getting use to but are better for you to sleep on.
I'm eating alone this evening as Richard and David are going to the local beefeater for a Christmas meal for staff and ex employees, Richard goes every year and knows everyone so it's a reunion as well,l also it's David's last day at work as he's off to Chile next Thursday

I bet you will miss David when he goes Anne. I finished my towels in the tumble dryer just to soften them up but they had a good blow on the line so they smell lovely. Quilt is just about to come in as it is now getting dark.
Been up the forest and found a nice big branch of the fluffy stuff for my wreaths and got some holle berries on the way back. There's not a lot around this year but I think it is enough for me and I always have fake ones in stock incase of a winter where there are no berries.

Aftrenoon All
Ah Anne, maybe it is the hard water here too that makes my towels hard and rough. I hadn't thought about that.I never seem to have a nice soft fluffy towel these days :-S Talking of fluff...you should see the amount of bright orange fluff that came out of the bathroom mats in the tumble dryer !!!!!!.I could have made a jumper out of it all.
So nearly time for David to leave for Chile. It will seem strange without him when he has gone. How long has he been with you Anne ,,about 4 months?
Frank ,good luck tonight with the surgeon. It is a late appointment isn't it.Is it at the 3 shires or Northampton General? I'm sure you will soon get used to the new mattress .What Ann suggested is a good idea though if you continue to find it too firm.A topper.
Ann,you have had a massive dose of IV Antibiotics as well as the tablets you now have .Maybe once your body gets used to then hopefully the insomnia will ease. OH will feel better after a bit of a nap .I bet it is the after effects of the worry about you the other night.
I have had another episode of the Visual Migraine thing with the zig zags and flashing. It has left my eye all blurry and me a bit dizzy :-S..I did pop out a couple of hours ago as I needed a couple of things and then called into Majestic Wines on the way home as there are some reasonable bargains on some really nice wines. I also got Jess's Mum a special bottle of Cava.It comes in a nice box too so that is another present sorted.I was glad to get home though as it was dark and with this fuzzy eye I wasn't too comfortable driving.
Mel I haven't seen many Holly Berries here either. I do think the artificial ones looks good though.Plus they don't die :-D..I have a load of artificial ones that I clip on to the end of the branches of the Xmas tree.Did you decide in the end how many Xmas Wreaths to make?
Gill I bet you are excited about getting the new suite ..Sandra will be waiting for Monday when it arrives so she can have the tree up :-D Her bedroom looks so pretty .You have done a lovely job :-D
I think I will turn this laptop off now and give my eye a rest as it is annoying me being all blurry.

I bet David's excited to be going to Chile Anne, but I bet he is so grateful to you for having let him stay at your place for a while. I suppose he will be busy tying up loose ends etc till he leaves. You have been busy cleaning today and you have described just how our towels go on the line!
OH has emerged at last and is getting something to eat judging by the clash of plates!
What made your arm sore Mel?

It was the flu jab that made my arm sore at the top.
I have been ironing since I shut the girls in, well I started it just before. I did the 12 pillow cases that were on the line this morning and a load of other stuff I washed the other day. The clothes horse is full and all the rads in the hall have ironing on them.
I feel like I have been on the go all day.

Ann ,it might be her flu jab making her arm sore. Just doing ready meals here tonight.I don't fancy standing in the kitchen 'cooking'. Thomas has just had his supper :-S :-S GROSS. I just managed to get the last half of a mouse and bin it.Thomas was not impressed .
The news tonight is very upsetting seeing all these Footballers coming forward now and being so terribly upset talking about their traumatic abuse when young boys by their coaches .. They have done a very brave thing and I hope they now get all the support in the world as there are horrors that have been locked away in their minds for years being 'unlocked' and they will need help in dealing with it all,as will their families.

12 pillowcases Mel!!!!!...Have you been saving then up LOL My mats from the ensuite are still on the line.(forgot to get them in :-S ) They can stay there now.
Frank will be on the way now to see his Surgeon .I bet he is feeling quite nervous .Lets hope all is fine and it is just a matter of time that his knee gets easier and less painful.

I put my towels in the dryer too Anne, it makes them lovely and soft, I find they go hard if they are put on the line, although I do start them off on the line if the weather is nice enough and finish them off in the dryer to soften them. You're going to miss David when he goes to Chile
Sorry to hear you've had another visual migraine Jane, hope you are feeling a bit better now.
It sounds like you've been busy today Mel. How many wreaths are you making?
Frank will be on his way to see the surgeon now, hope all goes well Frank and he can help you.
OH has an infection in his back, so the doctor gave him some antibiotics plus some inhalers for his asthma, he's got to go back to the chemist tomorrow to get some more as they didn't have enough in. His sore eyes are down to the cold weather. He's back in work on Tuesday so hopefully the antibiotics will have kicked in by then. He's off on Wednesday so it looks like the Christmas tree will go up then if OH feels up to helping us. We just need a hand putting the lights on as our tree is 7ft tall and I can't reach, then Sandra and I will be able to put the decorations on ourselves.
My cookers playing up, the gas rings keep going off and the ignition button broke before, so it looks like we might have to buy a new one :-(

So what part of his back has he the infection Gill?? I have never heard of that before.
I always put two pillow cases on my pillows. Mum always did it and I caught it from her and also my first oh worked a lot on cars and always got greasy so its just a habit I suppose. Oh has to have four pillow with his injured shoulder where it was injured in a fire in Woolworths.
I only usually make about 10 wreaths now plus the one for the advent ring for the church. I must take a pic of the church one for you all to see. That reminds me I must look and see if I have enough candles. I must buy some in morrisons if not. The dinner candles burn well and last a long time.

The infections in his lower back Mel, he has an in growing hair which causes infections, he had an infection about six weeks ago so when it started to feel sore a few days ago he had an inkling that it was another infection and he was right. The doctor said it was caught early this time. When the infection has gone in about a week he has to go back to the doctors as he'll need surgery to remove the hair. Not sure how long he'll have to wait for the surgery though he'll have to wait and see what the doctor says next week. OH thinks it will be a minor procedure that can be done at our local hospital and he won't have to stay in hospital, so it should only take a short time to do. Hopefully after that he should be okay.
So you're making 10 wreaths, that's quite a bit of work. It'll be nice to see the church one you have done.
I'm just watching Queen on Sky, it's 25 years since Freddie Mercury died, it was the day after my 25th birthday. Rest In Peace Freddie <3 Freddie's mum passed away 12 days ago aged 94 (13th November)
