Gillx Report 9 Dec 2016 11:53

Mum's just rang she is coming out of hospital today, so that's good news, she didn't need the angiogram in the end so further good news, at least that means her heart is okay. She's on antibiotics for a bladder infection but can take those at home. She is so pleased they are letting her go home as she's been there for almost 2 weeks and she wants to sort a few things out for Christmas. I did say to her not to over do it otherwise she could end up back in hospital over Christmas so she's assured me she won't. My sister is moving house on Monday so her son is bringing a few things over to put in mum's garage for now, so it'll be nice to see him as we haven't seen him for a while. My sister is going to give her son a 4 foot conifer tree for him to pass on to me, so I'll have to pot that up until the spring as it's to cold to plant it in the ground at the moment. I believe the weather is going to turn colder over the weekend so I don't want to chance losing the tree if it goes frosty again. So all in all things are starting to look up. My headaches have stopped so it must of been stress causing them. I'm going to write the last of my cards out after lunch then I've only got a few bits of food to buy for Christmas nearer the day, everything else is finished now. We are hoping to visit OH's mum soon to give her present to her and of course his side of the family's cards, everyone collects them from his mums. So we're getting there ;-) :-D

Thanks Anne for your cards they arrived today, Sandra loves the one you sent her with the two squirrels having a snowball fight, it made her laugh <3

Nice to see you on here Frank, or Ros, not sure who posted it :-S :-D ;-)
So you're all set ready for Sunday, hope you all have a great time <3 That was nice of Harvey to lend you his i pad hope you get your pc fixed soon.

Going to get some lunch now, then catch up with the soaps I recorded for Sandra and I last night. OH is having his dressing done at the moment so we'll watch WDYTYA later.

Good to see you made it on here today Frank.

How was your night??

Mandy I am so pleased you like it. I did try to do them like the ones you saw on Pinterest but I did'nt like them that way so did them my way. I just happened to have the butterfly wings in my card making stuff and bought the wool to go with them as you had said you liked the multli colours. The lid of the Christmas cards box is what I stuck the fly stickers on but they were a devil to cut out and then when I had made them could I find where I had put them? but did in the end. You can slide them along if you want to make it bigger or smaller as I hav'nt stuck them to the string and left the ends so you could put a loop or whatever to hang it with where you want it.

Frank Report 9 Dec 2016 13:56

Tis only me,

Ros has just returned from shopping for Sunday. You would think she has shopped for the Village ,! . Not only the kitchen fridge is full, but the spare one in the garage.

Glad your mum is coming out of hospital Gill, i trust she will be fit and wel for Christmas .

Mel have you fiinished all your wreaths now ?

We must go over to Ros,s mum and dads graves before we go away ,we replace the artificial flowers and wreath every year.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Dec 2016 14:34

No Frank I have only done three which are down the shop. I must ring Erics and see if she wants one this year for her sons grave. She likes it all natural no bows or flowers and I really enjoy doing that one.

Frank

Frank Report 9 Dec 2016 15:45

Ros has just come in from the garden, sweeping up all the leaves. She is about whacked out.

Mel, the knee is still not behaving. It has been aching most of the day. I am going to put a knee support on it this evening, to see if that helps,

Anne

Anne Report 9 Dec 2016 15:45

Good Afternoon All

Grey day here although the sun did come out for a short time but still not cold thankfully.

Thank you Mel for your frosty photos how pretty they are also the decorative bunting you made for Mandy. Also the robin and little hogs

Ann those Christmas trees all decorated up were amazing and well worth the trip to see them.. It sounded as you were being used as target practice yesterday thankfully you were unscathed but still scary in the car park.

Gill you must be pleased that your Mum is coming out of hospital and you will be able to visit her at home, good news too about her heart.

Frank nice to see you back on line, it sounds as though Ros is planning for a banquet on Sunday It's something to look forward to before you go away.

Just fish and chips for us tonight and mushy peas so nice and easy.

Mel the angel garland is brilliant, you are clever. Could you send me a picture of Sandra's Angel please, I've been telling my friend in Australia about it but don't have a photo of my own to send to her and also the mouse in the shell everyone's talking about, I'd like to see that too, thanks <3
It sounds like you're going to be busy with your wreaths, the natural one sounds nice, I'd like to see a pic if you take one, I prefer the natural look too.

So Ros has gone crazy with the shopping Frank, I have done that but it was over a long period of time so I didn't realise how much stuff I'd bought, especially the chocolate......at least Sandra is pleased, she even wanted to start eating some now, but I said you'd be fed up of chocolate by Christmas if we started now, she has her sweets in her advent calendar to tide her over until the big day and I bought a chocolate cake yesterday which she is enjoying.

Still catching up with the soaps, my phone hasn't stopped all day so I have to keep stopping the programmes. It's been really dark here, so much so we've had the lamps on all day, which has made it feel later than it is.

Well, I'd better get back to the soaps before I start dinner, slow cooked lamb in mint gravy with roast potatoes and veg tonight, yum yum ;-)

Sorry Mel, forgot to say I got your frosty pics, aren't they beautiful?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Dec 2016 15:54

I meant to say how good it was that Gill's mum is coming out of hospital. At least you won't have to go up stairs to see her now Gill. I hope she feels better for Christmas now both your minds are at rest with it not being her heart.

Just corned the girls. Cleaned them out this morning so they have a pleasent smelling house to live in now.

Nearly time to feed the hungry hogs as it has started to get dark early tonight. We had sunshine this morning and it looked to be a nice day right through but the wind came up and blew the clouds over. Winds dropped again now for a while.

Roast lamb for us tonight with roasted veg all done in one pan and as I have a lot of eggs this week will so yorkshires too.

Jane Report 9 Dec 2016 17:49

Afternoon All
Can't believe how warm it is.I got so hot just now I had to go and put a really thinshort sleeved top on.No way could I start dinner in what I had on.

Gill, that is really great news .Hopefully Mum is now back home again :-DJust getting back to her own bed will be good for her.The infection will be cleared and she will be able to have an enjoyable Xmas.

I must ask Gill, did Sandra's card arrive? I did send a separate one for her.

Mel what great photos today. The lovely Garland for Mandy, wonderful frosty pics(they were smashing and dear little Robbie (handsome chap :-D ).. The Hogs were a bit on the fuzzy side to see clearly :-(..

Frank I would love to have a peek in your Freezers LOL..What hs she been buying ??
I thought I had plenty of space ,but Chris came home with a big Beef Joint and 2 bags of Chicken Breasts the other day,so that is just about one shelf taken up just with that.
At least I don't have to put my my Gammon in the freezer. That will be ok in the fridge until I cook it.I have decided not to buy party food (well not much) as I often end up finding it a year later still in the freezer !!!

Jess is coming for the weekend...Not sure how the atmosphere is going to be.. This blasted dog that she will be having is causing problems. I am sticking to my guns and not having it here as I would be seriously worried about Thomas thinking it was something to catch !!!!!.It would be far smaller than a lot of the Rabbits he catches.
Plus I don't want Thomas disappearing. Anyway .If she has the puppy before Xmas then she will have to stay home to look after it(that is what her Mum must have said) .James refuses to go there for Xmas.He can't be doing with all the Drama that there always seems to be with the family(especially Jess's Mum :-S ) So who knows what is going to happen.James is thoroughly p****d off now and says he doesn't want to discuss it any more :-S.. I will have to be careful and bite my tongue over the weekend. NOTHING TO DO WITH ME :-D
At least I won't see Jess until tomorrow as she won't arrive tonight until after I am in bed. Hey Ho ! happy days

:-D :-D

Jane

Jane Report 9 Dec 2016 17:53

Meant to say Chris is still a bit like a dying duck in a thunderstorm :-S :-S

magpie

magpie Report 9 Dec 2016 18:18

Jane I think you are quite right taking a stand over the dog. Frankly it's Jess's responsibility to care for it, (shes's old enough!!) not yours!! She'll have to get it after Xmas if it's a problem, or leave it at home while she's away!!
Busy day here, Hygienist this morning, then shopping! Suppers ready so better sit up!!!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 9 Dec 2016 18:25

Oh yes Mel i was really pleased with them ,i like yours much better than the ones i saw on Pinterest , DIL came today and she said how lovely they are .
I think the frosty photo's are lovely too .

What ever has Ros been buying if she's filled two fridges :-D you might be eating left overs all next week by the sound of it :-D

Gill thats really good news your mum is coming home ,you must be so pleased ,now you'll be able to go and see her and won't have to worry about being up so high.

Gosh Ann that sounded a close shave yesterday ,he couldn't have looked in his mirrors before shooting back .
Have to caught up with all your washing now ? my washer is a nice easy one to use too, like your its turn a knob and push a button and away it goes .

I had to smile at the thought of you having the 'bonsai' tree :-D you'd need miniature decorations if it was that tiny LOL
I think Jess will have to accept that the dog carn't come with her when she comes to you because you have Thomas , what would she think if Thomas got to the dog , you'd never hear the end of it , she'll have to put the dog in kennels if her mum won't look after it and she wants to come to you , unless she has a cage that she can keep it in ,but i doubt she would want to do that would she .

The logs arrived, they are all stacked away now so if we get snowed up we will be ready to have a nice roaring fire although like you i have been in short sleeves today it been so mild .

magpie

magpie Report 9 Dec 2016 19:14

Kennels won't usually accept puppies under six months, they're just too much responsibility! I can see you'd feel worried about Thomas 's reaction Jane which could be catastrophic one way or the other! They'll have to sort it out between them, it's as simple as that!! Presumably her family will look after it while she's at work? What if she moves away from home? To be honest it's sounds a bit ridiculous to have a dog as she's bound to leave home during its life time, and it will make it quite difficult to find a dog friendly place to live! Can't you point that out to her?!!!!!

Gillx

Gillx Report 9 Dec 2016 19:55

Thanks for the e-card Liz, Sandra and I loved it

I don't blame you for not letting the dog go to yours Jane, what if something happened, you'd never forgive yourself, plus it's not your responsibility. No, Sandra didn't receive the card you sent her Jane, we only got one addressed to all of us.

Did everyone get the cards I sent? Did your card arrive in the end Mel? Thanks for sending the picture of Sandra's fairy, it's now been forwarded to my friend in Australia, so your fairy has travelled to the other side of the world now ;-) :-D
