M orning all,

Dry this morning but not very bright at the minuet. Slept well again with only one wake up for a visit to the loo.

Must finish off the other ring today and then I am not doing anymore. May do a flower arrangement of two as I bought some nice ft candles in Lidl yesterday.

Frank Report 16 Dec 2016 11:11

Morning to you all, evening Kim,

Only got out once in the night . When I woke this morning, I wanted a wee, and was just getting back into bed when I noticed it was 9.00 am so didn't, get a lay in ! Ros had tea waing for me,

These colds are hanging around, Ros still has a nasty cough sounds like a BARK.

I couldn't even tell you what our washing machine does. Likewise I never do my medication. Ros has always done them, which I know is very naughty of me. I should learn to do them, in case she decides to leave me ;-) ;-) ;-)

Misty, murky sort of day here again . We have to go to the library later to renew my Blue Badge it ran our in Noverber, I only noticed it on Wednesday,

Have a good day, see you later.

Frank

Frank Report 16 Dec 2016 13:27

Been waiting for a phone call from the Doctor from 10.30 to 1 00 NOTHING. Now I will have to ring again after 2 ,30 when they open again , but I bet I won't get to speak to a Doctor. Why bother telling me someone will ring, when they don't.

Cases are on the dinning table and are gradually being filled with everything we will need for a three week stay at Conrads and Jans. Ros has packed all our medications. I bet we will either forget something or pack to much,

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Dec 2016 16:39

Three weeks is a lot to pack for Frank. I hope you don't forget anything. Have you packed the camera??

Afternoon All

I think Ruby is a lovely name for your new Puppy Anne :-D I wonder if the Mum is still hanging on !!! or maybe delivered by now.Ohh they will be so tiny :-D :-D...I love the smell of puppies,it makes my tum go all funny lol

I hadn't realised Richard had had to have an eye removed when he was such a little boy. That must have been a dreadful time for you and your OH. I hope that horrible Nurse heard Richard say he hated her :-D..

So getting ready for your 3 weeks away Frank..It is a long time for you to be away from home. Was it last year you both almost ran out of your pills? I know you said before but what day do you actually go?

Did the Dr call? Maybe he was busy and got held up .

Chris has felt a lot better today and has been busy in the kitchen making Cantucci and
Festive Flapjacks.. The Cantucci has turned out great but the Flapjacks just fell apart :-S....I think he was meant to have used a Baking Tray ,but instead used a deep ceramic dish. So he is going to have another go (maybe tomorrow)..The taste is yummy though .Just a few survived .

I have finally finished wrapping presents...except for this blooming Hoe !!!!

Mandy I think if I tried to get a Sari on I would look like I was wearing a sack lol,a crumpled one at that.I hope the ladies manage to follow all the instructions.
They will look gorgeous :-D

Good Evening All

Been dull all day today but still not cold

Have had another busy day today, vacuumed everywhere plus a few machine loads of washing including all the cushion covers. I also had to shampoo part of the sitting room carpet as I managed to spill half a glass of cranberry juice over it yesterday evening.

Still no news of Ruby putting in an appearance I had an email from Sasha and they are still waiting.

Mark rang me today he had just got an award on a talk he gave about his life with Aspergers and how it had affected him as an adult, he did this at Falmer part of Brighton University. When he was a small child they didn't recognise this condition like they do now but he had above average itelligence but was hyperactive and not an easy child

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Dec 2016 18:07

O Anne so you are still playing the waiting game... I remember waiting for my Russel to have her pups. She decided to have them while I was out at the pet shop we had then. I came home amd she had them on my chair in the front lounge of the cottage. She had 6, 5 girls and a boy. I kept the smallist one and she had a clover leaf pattern on her bottom and her tail was the stalk so we called her Shammrock.

Jane glad Chris is feeling better today and has been busy in the kitchen.

Took two more rings down the shop and the one I took the other day has been put aside for collection tomorrow so its two to go and the arrangement.

No Gill today? Hope everything is ok or did she say they were going to hubbies mum's today?

Got chilli on for oh tonight and I shall have eggs.

Going to do up a few more presents now so see you all later.

Evening all,

What a dreary old day, its been so dark you need lights on to see what your doing .
I have wrapped a few presents today ,all Lewis's so it's a start .

Frank can you remember if there was some thing you forgot to take with you last year, three weeks is quite a while to be away so you'll need plenty of your meds .

Oh Anne wouldn't it be nice if the puppies were born on christmas day :-D

Glad Chris is feeling better , well he must be if he's been busy cooking today ,it's funny you should mention flap Jacks i've been looking at recipes too ,i think i might make some tomorrow ,i have made a few sausage rolls today and did they smell good .

We took Max to the vets to be weighed this morning we needed to get his flea and worm treatment , the little porker now weighs 30.7 kilos !!

DIL's father has had his op for his new knee joint ,he should have been out today but now has a blood clot so he will be in for another couple of days ,he got a clot when he had his other knee joint put in so you would have thought they would have been prepared this time incase it happened again which it has .
When he comes home he will have three flights of stairs to cope with as they live in a top floor flat .

That's good the wreaths are selling well Mel .

Frank Report 16 Dec 2016 20:43

I,ll try again. Evening all,

Finally got a call from the doctor at 6,30 this evening, so we didn't go out to renew my Blue Badge.

We have packed a months supply of meds ,so we should be fine. We are off Tuesday morning, we will take our time and have a couple of stops on the way. The poor old car will be loaded down with all the presents, cloths and food stuffs. One present for Ella weights a ton, it's a concrete King Charles cocker Spaniel for her new house and garden.

Conrad should be in the air by now. He is flying into Exeter later tonight, so him and Jan will be having a late night,

Ros is hoping that Janwill have her new washing machine, or we will be doing hand washing ;-) ;-) ;-)

Will settle down now and find something to watch on T, V.

Will be in touch tomorrow after my drinkie poos with the neighbours and the pub, I HOPE!,,

Gillx Report 17 Dec 2016 07:59

Morning all

Still dark here to I'm not sure what the weather's going to do today, so far it's dry and reasonably warm.

I finally watched all of Poldark yesterday, it took about 11 hours. I had a dreadful nights sleep and woke up at midnight and then again at 4am, couldn't get back off to sleep so got up. I was so tired by the time I'd finished watching Poldark that I ended up going to bed before 10pm, so of course I'm awake early today too. At least I don't feel so tired now.
I woke up crying, don't know why, I must of had a bad dream but can't remember it. :-S

So no Ruby yet Anne? Maybe the pups will be born today :-)

I don't have a wreath on my front door either as my door is a plastic one with no door knocker so no where to hang it. I couldn't do one either side with ribbon as my door opens straight onto the porch wall. I did make one and put it on our living room wall a few years ago but have put it on our cupboard with the table lamp stood inside it this year next to the small tree I've put up, it looks really good as the colours match the tinsel I put around the base of the tree.

So you're busy packing now Frank, I didn't realise you were going away for three weeks, that's going to be a lot of packing to do. Enjoy your drinkie poos and the pub later.

Pleased to hear Chris is feeling better now Jane, pity about the Flapjacks though.
Has Larry had his injection yet? Hope all went well if he has. How is Thomas's paw now?

That's a good weight for Max, Mandy, he's quite a big boy now isn't he? Has he left your Christmas tree alone now?

It's the final of Strictly tonight, Sandra is looking forward to it and wants Danny to win. She got her wish with Matt winning the X-Factor, so lets hope she gets her wish again with Strictly. ;-)

Going to watch Masterchef as I fell asleep watching it last night, luckily I recorded it so can watch it now. Sandra's already seen it so I don't need to wait for her to wake up.

Morning all,

Gill you were up early tday. Did you enjoy Poldark? You'll have lots of room to record other things now you have seen it.

Quite bright this morning but I did'nt wake till 10.30 and misread my watch without my glasses on. Slept like a log last night and only got up once for the loo.

Have the shop to do today for the paper and then I have a couple of present to wrap and a few decs still to be put up. Put all the batteries in my littlel sets of lights last night and the garland we have under the windowsill is now SO bright I don't know if oh will be able to stand it as it could shine in his eyes whilst watching the telly.

Annx Report 17 Dec 2016 13:04

Afternoon All,

Gawd the concrete will be heavy Frank..........good job it wasn't a Great Dane you got for her!! :-D I hope you get to the pub in time for the KO after your drinks! OH is watching Blisworth somewhere down your way this afternoon. I've never packed for a 3 week stay so it would take me ages to decide what to take........it's hard enough packing for just a week!

Poor Richard Anne, I hadn't realised he'd lost an eye. It must have been so worrying for you and for Gill with her daughter's problems as a baby. How nice too for Mark to get an award for his talk. It's really important to spread knowledge and understanding of these things and people take more notice when someone with experience speaks to them. I bet he was well pleased. I wonder if the puppies are here yet?

Gill you did have a bad night. I don't think I could have watched that many hours tv at once, but at least you didn't have to get back into the story of Poldark watching it all through.

I had a good sleep last night too Mel which was great as I was up a lot the night before due to an attack of the trots! I wasn't sure I'd get to beading class and took spare pants with me just in case! I didn't want to miss going as I had everyone's Christmas cards and had food to take as well. I was fine though and the teacher gave us all a little beaded spider kit and pattern as a present which was nice of her.

Did Larry get his injection Jane? I find flapjacks too heavy and filling but OH loves them. It's a pity Chris's first batch didn't hold together, but most things you cook are still edible even if they aren't quite right. I should know! lol.I was wondering how you were getting on with wrapping the hoe!! Ho Ho! You'll have to attach a label saying 'Back Scratcher' on it to throw him off the scent. I'm running out of hiding places for OH's presents and gawd knows where I'll put the turntable when it arrives this week.

Jane Report 17 Dec 2016 14:39

Afternoon Everyone

Fancy waking up crying Gill. I don't think I have ever done that..Maybe it was a sad dream.

LOL the concrete dog !!!!!.. Make sure it is packed in the middle of the car Frank and not right at the end of the boot .Don't want the car tipping up :-D..

I think a Label with Back Scratcher on the hoe is a great idea Ann :-D :-D. Still don't know how I will wrap it.I may just leave it in the plastic bag thing that it came it and stick spme ribbons and bows on.

Well done to your Mark Anne. That sounds quite an achievement for him :-D

Chris is back in the kitchen :-S..I am wanting to make a chicken Pie for tonight.
He has just made more Cantucci and is now starting the second attempt at the Flapkacks.

I missed a call yesterday from Fiona and just saw the answerphone light flashing this morning. So I rang her back just now and we had a nice old natter.
She sends her love to everyone and wishes everyone a Very Happy Christmas.
She said she is still unable to use the computer, read the kindle ,or even watch TV as she can't bear to have her glasses on. BUT with changes in meds things are slowly improving with here heads pains. Her OH has retired fully now so she has been able to get out and about more since he has been home to take her places. She did manage to get to see Sofia and Matteo in their Nativity plays which I think did her the world of good :-D..She is hoping to get back on the thread as soon as she can.

I haven't spoken to my Sister so don't know how larry got on yesterday with the injection in his eye. I expect she will be out shopping now so will give her a call later on. I did think she might have called last night ,but it is a busy time for her what with Larry and al lthe Grandchildrens different things going on. Tomorrow it will be Finn's 11 th birthday... Janice has to make 50 faity cakes with whippy chocolate on top to make them look like a 'poo' with eyes on !!!!!... LIke one of the emoticons :-S

My neighbours have gone to Australia for a month.Eldest son getting married there .Then after the wedding my neighbours are off Back packing !!!!!....They are so blooming fit and in their 50's !!!.Puts us to shame. It is going to be very hot out there though .I think KIm mentioned the heat and humidity out there at the moment.

Well Jess has the new little 'rat on a rope, ankle grabber' puppy. It's name is Benjy.James showed me a pic .Funny little thing. I thought I had better be kind and so have bought a little puppy toy with teething ring attached.James will take it down with all the other presents when he goes on the 23rd. I still feel a bit guilty saying that she couldn't bring it here .But just seeing the size of it makes me think I made the right decision.Thomas could eat it in a second LOL.

Gillx

Gillx Report 17 Dec 2016 14:56

Sunglasses Mel Sunglasses, that should help your OH see the TV when your lights are on LOL :-D :-D :-D Yes I was up early today but that's probably because I went to bed before 10pm with having a bad nights sleep the night before. I feel much more awake today and we're all catching up with the programmes I've recorded off the planner to free up the space to fill again over Christmas ;-)
There's a programme on Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on channel 4 at 12.30 till 14.05 tomorrow if you're interested Mel. Sandra spotted it in the Christmas paper and told OH and I about it as she knows we like the F1, she will watch something off her planner when we watch it.

11 hours was a long time Ann, not sure if I'd be able to do it again, I was finding it a bit tiring around the last two, but like you said you don't have to remember the story watching it all in one go. It took up a third of the planner so it needed watching before Christmas. Looking forward to the next series now.

We're just going to watch Vet on the hill. Sandra fancies the vet Dr Scott, to be fair he is quite easy on the eye ;-) ;-) and really good with all his patients too. It's on More 4 on Sky 9pm on Monday's and is really good.

Gillx

Gillx Report 17 Dec 2016 15:09

Hi Jane didn't see you there. Maybe you could wrap the hoe in some bubble wrap then you can wrap it up in Christmas paper, he'd never guess what it was then.

Hope all went well with Larry. It was nice to hear about Fiona, looking forward to her return soon, she's been missed <3
So you've made the right decision over the little dog. those types of dogs always remind me of the people who carry them around in handbags.....never understood that :-S :-S

How did the second batch of Flapjacks go, does he make them with syrup? I find they hold together better that way. I cut them while they're still warm in the tray then take them out after a few minutes to finish off cooling. I'll be doing some baking on Wednesday as OH said I'll need to make sure the new cooker works okay, it's arriving on Tuesday. I think he just wants me to bake a cake for him really ;-)

Afternoon all,

What a day ,i don't think the fog has cleared all day and its even thicker out there again now .

Thanks for letting us know about Fiona Jane ,how miserable it must be for her not to be able to read or watch TV ,and must be really painful if she carn't bear to have her glasses on , at least with her OH now retired she can have little trips out which she must look forward too.
I like Ann's idea to put a label on the hoe with Back Scratcher on it :-D you need some sort of a long tube to put it in .

I have wrapped a few more presents ,i still have some to get ,i'm going to Norwich with DIL and the three girls and Lewis on Tuesday so i hope i can get the last few bits i need ,we're hoping to take them to see Father Christmas in Jarrolds , our retired policeman friend always gets the job of Father Christmas in there , he starts growing his beard in September all ready for the job :-D

Strictly tonight ,i'd like Danny to win but they have been pushing Louise forward quite a bit so i have a feeling it might be her.

Blimey Frank your going to be braking the springs on the car carting concrete dogs on holiday with you :-D
How did the Drinkie poos go ,hope you managed to get to see your match at the pub .

I have snapped the handle on my favorite little knife i use to peel potaotes , i love that little knife it's nice to hold and i find a lot of the new ones don't fit into my hand so well , i've had it for years so i bet i won't get another one like it .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Dec 2016 17:51

Gosh what a busy day I have had. First I got up late and that put me behind to start with/ The Di called in with my presents and card. She also brought me a cardi of her that I liked and gave it to me. It fits a treat and its in blue marly sort of stuff and its very warm. It came in a shopping bag she bought in the charity shop. It has a family of hedgehogs on it and is in that wipe over oil type clothe and I told her she should have given it to me for a Christmas present. She had a coffee with us and when she left I went up the hsop and to do my egg delivery next door. The boys were so excited and I had to go in and see thier Christmas tree and they had put all the des on and it really looked like Em and Ed had sone it.

They showed me the things they had made at school and pre school (Little Bears) for Sam. They were lovely crowns and Sam had made a snowman with about 6 goggley eyes which I commented on and was told it was an Alien Snowman!!! That really made me laugh. Em had bought a lovely garland in Sainsbury's and had it over the aga. Lots of red berries on it and fir branches. She said they were marked down from £20 odd pounds to £15. If I had seen it it is something I would have bought.

Then I cam e home and did a late lunch and we had just finished that when a car drove sown the drive and I thought it was Jane from a few doors up so quickly got her card ready to give her and it was'nt Jane at all but Shelia our reader at church. She came in and chatted away for quite a while and I gave her one of my little mice as she loves things like that. She was delighted. She left and oh had about 90 winks becasue he thought it was Jane too.

So then it was time to corn the girls and feed the hogs and then oh woke up so I made coffee after shutting the girls in for the night. Sat down after that lot and here I am. Hav'nt done anything I wante dto do today at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to do more presents up. I had'nt even done all Di's up but she took what I had done and they were her main ones.

Still no puppies I see.

Do we know how Larry got on yesterday yet??

So Gill you have now seen all the Poldark episodes. That was a lot to watch at once and I don't think I could have done that. I did so enjoy the new ones though nearly as much as the first ones.

Sending love to Fiona and hope the new meds work for her nad she can get back on here and chat away with the rest of us. I had a nice card from her.

Hope Chris's flapjacks turn out better than the last lot.

Jane

Jane Report 17 Dec 2016 18:24

Flapjacks look fine....... but now I am going to have a scream as the is water dripping through the lounge ceiling . Just a drip drip .I said to Chris earlier today that I thought there was a bit of a brown looking patch .Looking up now I can see the join in the ceiling paper is coming apart :-S :-S :-S :-S.....I really can't be doing with yet another bl**d* leak..I'll be back later (after strictly)

Annx

Annx Report 17 Dec 2016 19:19

Oh NO Jane......not another leak! I think you must have just wanted a brown patch like the one on our ceiling from when the stove pipe chimney leaked a few years ago! It's not funny when you have water dripping through and I hope you can get the plumber in quick to fix it.

Thanks for the update on Fiona. Her head must really hurt and how awful to not even be able to watch telly. It's a good job her hubby is around more now so she can at least have trips out.

Mandy I still need to pop out to look for a few more things next week. It looks like we are to get an icy blast soon as well. It was clear here till dusk, then got really foggy.

Most unlike him but OH managed to miss his turn off the M1 today and had to drive an extra 25 miles to get back! It's the sort of thing he used to laugh at me for doing years ago, but not any more. He said he nearly missed the start of the match!

Mel it sounds like you had a hectic day! I see you are going to be wearing hedgehogs now! :-)
