That's nice of you Mel. How are you getting on with your crafting? Are you nearly finished yet? We're all waiting to hear what it is :-)

Meant to say before to Frank. Have you been watching Tina and Bobby, it's a three part programme about Bobby Moore's life? I've just finished watching the first one, it started last Friday on ITV, the next one is on this Friday at 9pm.

Anne

Anne Report 18 Jan 2017 13:51

Mel, thank you very much for the pretty little purse with a Boston face on it, I will be using it to keep Ruby's treats and poo bags when I take her out, it will save me having to put them in coat pockets so I wont forget to take them with me when we go on our Forest walks. No problem with the postage it has just arrived,

It's been a really sunny day today but very cold the same as yesterday.

I wonder if Frank has had his little Op done yet, I expect he will be pleased to get home again,

Paul popped in earlier to show off his new car, this was a surprise as he wasn't expecting it until Friday but they have a lot of new cars being delivered and wanted the room, they are selling his old car through the auction so someone will get a bargain as there is nothing wrong with it

Ann it is a good idea to put something across your drive as well as a notice to stop inconsiderate drivers using it as a right of way.

Gill, Sandra makes a good supervisor making lists for you, I have a manual timer that I take into the sitting room when I need to time cooking, I have one on the cooker but when I had it new the directions were more than complicated as the cooker is completely knob free and all touch button.

Well I must go and warm some soup up now.

Thank you once again Mel for thinking of Ruby and me <3 <3

I 'm pleased you liked it Anne. It is just the thing for treats and her little poo bags. I liked the way you could attach it to something too with the little chain fastener.

I took a pic so I can show the others what you recieved now you have it.

NO Gill I hav'nt touched my craft project yet. First I have to work out how to make the next bit and the next bit and the next bit and the next bit and so on...........

I have just changed the bed and am having a sit down before doing the quilt cover then its finished for another week. Oh helps me with the cover.

Afternoon All
I hope Frank has had the op now and is not on the end of the list and still waiting.I would like to think of him back home and having a nice cuppa now :-D

What a lovely liitle gift for Anne . It made me smile when I saw the pic Mel :-D..
It took me a while to work out why there were eggs and birds ,but then I realised the purse was on a place mat !!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

I have been freezing today.Even with the fire lit I don't seem to be able to get warm.

Gill,my timings yesterday on the cooking was just right :-).Both meats were done perfectly, but Chris decided he didn't really like the Lamb that much so I won't be getting that again. He never actually says at the time he doesn't like something. It's always much later like the next morning when he will say he didn't think much of whatever it was.At least he is honest :-D
Easy meals tonight for us all.Ready Meals :-DThat suits me .

I have just realised that is not as dark now at this time of day.It doesn't seem long ago that it was dark by 4pm.

Looking forward tonight to Silent Witness.I will watch the Hospital programme tomorrow as it is on at the same time.

Gill will you be able to sell your car for scrap? You might get a bit towards a new one.
It sounds as though it has done very well.James was gutted a few years ago when he had to have his car scrapped..It was a W reg Vauxhall Astra that had been Chris's.It was a brilliant car and never needed anything doing except changing a few bulbs, but then eventually like yours it was the locks and electric that went. The boot wouldn't unlock and also a couple of the doors. It just wasn't worth forking out to get it fixed.I think he needed a new exhaust too.
I have had my car for exactly 1 year now so I need to get it booked in for its first service.
I reckon Tomas will be sitting outside the back door now waiting to come in.He has a set routine now every day when he goes out at a certain time, comes in at a certain time and so on until the evening when he finally settles for the night at about 8pm.
So I better go and see if he is there.

Evening all,

Been another dry day with a little sun at times but still cold.

Mel that was a lovely gift for Anne and Ruby ideal for treats and bags when they are out for a walk.

I hope our Frank is home now and it all went well ,it might be a day or two perhaps before we hear from him as it might be awkward for him to see to post with an eye patch on.

Not a lot happening here ,just been doing the usual jobs , the ironings still not done so thats a job for tomorrow .
Chelsea should be coming for a sleep over at the weekend so i must sort out some craft things for her to do .

Lots of very fine drizzle here today. Hope Frank is at home with his patch on now and resting.

Yes that was a great little purse for Anne Mel, just the thing for treats and poo bags and fancy it having a Boston Terrier picture on it!

Anne I bet Paul was glad to get his car sooner than expected. Once you have committed yourself you worry that something might happen to your old car before the swap date!

I've been tearing my hair out with a Karcher window vac I collected this afternoon. :-S The chap in the shop kept opening the box and double checking the contents. Now I have looked, it doesn't appear to have any operating instructions that are referred to in a list of symbols. Also I can't see any battery it tells you to put in or show where to put it?? Looks like I shall be taking it back tomorrow to ask.

I have enjoyed Silent Witness too and will be watching the 2nd part on the iplayer tonight.

Gill, when our bungalow was built we got the builder to widen our drive to over double the normal width at the front of the bungalow, so one of us could park to the side and we wouldn't block each other in like happens if one parks behind the other. This means any gates would have to be too wide to open and couldn't open anyway as the drive slopes down quite steeply to where they would be and they would jam on the slope. If we just had a gravel drive with plenty of room it would be annoying but wouldn't really matter, but block paving sinks with heavy vehicles and some are great big trucks (the size of the bin lorries!) and they have to reverse up our drive their full length right up to my back bumper to be able to turn right onto the very narrow road which hasn't even got room for a pavement.

The police helicopter was back this morning when I set off and was hovering just above the bungalow rooftops on the main road. It was quite foggy as well.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Jan 2017 22:04

Ann could'nt you have some chain and posts that fit in holes to put across your driveway? Something you could take up when you go out and pop back before you leave?

Morning all,

I have been sneezing my head off for the last few mins as I sit here drinking my COT.

Its a beautiful sunny morning after a very hard frost which is still hanging around in places the sun has'nt reached as its so low in the sky.

Forgot to turn the washing machine on before bed last night so its whirling away now.

Hope Frank is ok after yesterdays op and is'nt in too much discomfort with his eye last night. His knee too. Hope you had a good nights sleep my love.

Annx

Annx Report 19 Jan 2017 11:40

Morning All,

I slept well last night but it is drismal here (dismal with drizzle!) now so we went out for brekkie to set us up for the day.

The local paper mentioned about the police searching for a man with dementia who had gone missing from home near us a couple of days ago so it looks like the helicopter we saw was probably searching for him. What a worry that must be as the motorway, river, canal and railway line are all within a quarter of a mile and there is some flooding in the fields too with all this rain we've had.

The alarm man will be here soon so I shall pop out to ask about the window vac just before he's due so he has plenty of room to park. A huge Wickes lorry was working out how to turn round higher up the close when we went out. We could only just squeeze by as the builder's vans were all parked on the pavements both sides. They used to park near the close exit out of the way when they started but that soon stopped!!

I hope Frank had a good night and is ok now. He will be putting in drops for a few weeks I expect. We should hopefully hear from him once his eye has settled down and cleared a bit. :-) <3

My washer is whirring too Mel but the washing won't dry outside today. :-S Does the sun make you sneeze.....it does OH?

Better get going now!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Jan 2017 13:18

Yes sometimes it makes me sneeze and then my eyes start watering.

Washing is blowing very gentley on the cold breeze.

We had the two foxes up the garden tis morning sitting in the sun. I got a few pics of one on its own.

Frank Report 19 Jan 2017 17:13

Hi to you all, Thanks for your concerns. I was third in yesterday about 2.45 pm. Out about 3.15. Had to sit for half an hour. Then we saw the nurse who gave Ros instructions and drops. Four a day 1st week then three 2nd week and so on till end week four. I have a plastic cover that has to go over my eye for 2/3 weeks at night. Very difficult to get my left eye to focus. BLUR. I can just make out the shape of the Mirror on the fireplace wall. I have my left eye covered at the moment with my glass's on. Not easy to Type, but I knew you would be worried.

Hoping tomorrow morning will see a great improvement in my sight. Until then I will say A BIG THANKS TO YOU ALL. xxxx
