LOL Mandy I see we asked the same question (Apple Tree Yard)..It was a bit 'steamy ' wasn't it ;-) I don't possess any cups and saucers these days. I did have a load after Chris's parents passed away, but they were not our style and sold them at a car boot sale.Couldn't even get our fingers through the handles. So it is mugs in our house. How times have changed. Just waiting now for James to get home, and then we can eat.He will be here in the next 10 minutes or so. I do remember the first time my Mum bought mugs :-)...It seemed so modern and 'with it' :-D :-D

Well i didn't have my glasses on to watch Apple Tree Yard but i think they would have definately steamed up :-0
I sometimes think a cup and saucer would be better for Colin than a mug as he always seems to leave sticky rings where he stands his mug i'm always wiping the coasters ,at least the saucer would catch the drips .
Freezing fog out tonight you can hardly see down the road its so thick ,I'm glad i don't have to travel any where tonight .

It is not at all certain that we will get adequate funding as we are a village Practice Ann, and unless we demonstrate enough support we may well lose it altogether which would mean 6 mile trip to the nearest town which is already over subscribed. Any money we raise will go towards ancillary issues looked after by the Parish Council. Hope this answers your query. Yes Jane, I think Chris did leave in time, our staff are all brilliant, but dreadfully overcrowded. How they manage in such a small building is nothing short of amazing. Been a lovely day here, I sat in the sun this afternoon with a coat on and it was really warm!

That's just what OH says about when he finished work Jane........just got out at the best time! Last time he met up with his staff they were telling him that they now have to have 2 computer screens on their desks not just the one !! :-S
I thought Apple Tree Yard was good and yes, steamy!! I've always been cautious and it always amazes me that women will go off into secluded places with men they hardly know though. If I did it I would expect to get the psychopath!!!! :-0
Speaking of steam I had it coming out of my ears in W H Smith just now. OH gave me a coupon for a railway book offer from there that he wanted. The girl behind the till was apologetic and asked a young chap if he knew where they were. Off he went for ages, came back, took someone else with him and went to look again, then someone else joined in looking. After 20-25 minutes of me standing about, he finally came back to say he couldn't find one......no apology! Then he was taken aback when I said they were supposed to have 7 copies were'nt they as he didn't know I'd overheard him tell the assistant!! He then stupidly suggested I come back in a couple of days which is the final day of the offer. I just said I could have another wasted journey if they still couldn't find them or had sold them all by then! Still no apology from him. OH is going in himself tomorrow......heaven help them!!
I remember doing a car boot sale just after we moved here to get rid of a lot of things with joining 2 households together. I had decided to part with a mouse with very long poseable legs that a work colleague's wife had knitted for me years before. I had visions of it giving a small child years of pleasure, but I was horrified when someone bought it for their dog. The image of it being savaged and ripped apart was in my head for ages after!!

I can see they probably won't want to fund every practice Liz. If they can close A&E departments in some places it's not unreasonable to speculate they will want to have less, but bigger surgeries that will have one lot of overheads. It is worrying the way things are going.

Evening all, Halcyon Hotel is on. I haven't seen any, so won't start now.
We are lucky here for Doctors. When I moved here in 79 there was one Doctor. He took on another and from there they had a purpose built surgery built and now have practices in FIVE villages surrounding the area. Some patients are not happy with the waiting time and are moving to other doctors EIGHT miles away. So Bigger is not always better .
I haven't poked my nose out tonight, so can't say anything about the weather, other than to say we are all tucked up in the warm. My thoughts are with the homeless on nights like this. Poor souls.!!!!
It seems I should look in tomorrow on catch up. lol I hope it is good.
Well I think I will creep into my PIT and my radio. These eye drops seem to be making me very sleepy.
Sleep tight all and happy dreams. xxx

Good morning all
We are also lucky with doctors' surgeries at the moment with 3 different practices within walking distance of this house and we are on the outskirts of Bracknell so don't know how many more there are.
Not so much frost today but still cold out I haven't decided what to do yet today but must do some housework especially dusting a job I hate.
I had the best nights sleep I've had for a long time and was woken up by the alarm normally I'm partly awake just before I need to get up.
Just having my first cuppa we also only have mugs now so strictly speaking it isn't a cuppa :-) :-)
I hope everyone has a good day with not too many aches and pains
That was a lovely Photo Liz of the sun rising that you took

Morning all, evening Kim.
Why I think of it has anyone heard ho Kim's Granddaughter is ?? She was rushed into hospital with bowel trouble a few days ago.
I am between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea this morning. My eye feels as though I have been thumped by HENRY COOPER. I can't see without my glass's and with them it's so very blurred. It feels as though I have a bit of grit in the bottom of my eye..
Ros has put one lot of drops in before going to a meeting, so I don't know when I will get the next. I must ring the Dr's for more drops, as having to put SIX a day in for an extra week, I am running low.
Not a brilliant night last night. Tossing and turning, and in and out for the toilet. Too much liquid in the evening no doubt !!!
Horrible day here, thick fog and frost. I can't see the bottom of the garden.
I still call it a COT as it's a big breakfast cup without a saucer. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Did the OH get the car fixed yesterday Gill. ???
I am going to get Ros to help me shower again when she gets home, I do miss it.
Belly pork for dinner tonight in a Honey and Mustard Sauce. with Roast Carrots Parsnips, and potato's. I will sort out a selection of veg from the fridge.
Have a good day whatever to have to do. xxx

Morning all
Dry here today and a bit warmer too.
That was interesting Mel what you were saying about your gt gt granddad it might apply to Josepha's parentage and might explain why I couldn't find anything on them yesterday. At least I have all the certs for her now...well the ones I can find anyway. So the fox is still around, hope your girls are okay and he keeps away from them.
Pleased to hear your eyesight is improving and you can see some colour now Frank. Once you stop having the drops the eyesight will be much better and less blurry. Sorry to hear you had a bad night last night. No OH didn't get the car fixed yesterday as the part hadn't come into the garage before it went dark, it's supposed to be in today but OH is in work, he'll nip out in his lunch break to pick it up and put it on the car tomorrow when he's off again. Split shifts come in handy sometimes ;-) ;-)
The new carvery didn't sound to good Ann, better to stick to the one you like, climbing six steps with a plate of hot food isn't ideal is it? I'll keep an eye out for the post, Sandra will be thrilled thank you.
Loved the photo of the sun rising Liz, Sandra loved it too, which doesn't surprise me as it was PINK :-D
All the photo's of little Ruby were sooooooooo cute Anne. Not long now before she's part of your family <3
Nothing much planned for today, going to catch up on Call the Midwife and The Halcyon and I might take another look at my family tree later. I put 60 people on it yesterday, all in Australia. I was shattered after that, so had an early night.

Well Gill you certainly have been busy with your tree. I MUST contact my Nieces and Nephews to get birth/marriage dates of their children. I have SEVENTEEN of them. So if they all have children of their own I will have a JOB FOR LIFE putting them all on. I know one niece had 5/6 children and she has at least 12 grand children. So thats only ONE !!! Had a very lazy day, not being able to read, I have sat with my eyes closed most of the day. BORED or what.
Dos came home about 1.00 pm from the meeting, had lunch and has gone to Tesco and Hobby Craft. So don't know when to expect her. I need my drops, so hope she won't be to long. I have only had two out of six today. So this evening is going to be busy, catching up with them.
Haven't heard any news on my Sister or Ros's friend. They say no news is good news.
Good Job it looks like a clear evening, just hope the fog and frost stays away.

Afternoon All
Frank,I think i saw that Kim's Grandadughter was sent home from hospital .Poor little girl sounds as though she is going to have a lifetime of 'gut ' trouble with being intolerant to so many foods. It seems to be something that has run in Kims family.
If your eye still feels like you have a bit of grit in it I would get it checked .Not that is grit of course.Maybe it is a little scratch of something. But best not to leave it if it doesn't clear .
Gill, that must be a good feeling to be able to add so many more people on your family tree :-D. You have done well :-D
Anne, how lovely to have such a good sleep last night.I had a second bad night.I am hoping it won't be a third one tonight. The Police were around this morning doing a letter drop into everyones letter boxes again. Seem my next door neighbour had a third attemped burglary on the garage last night. It does seem odd that they are being targeted like this. Luckily they had a burglar alarm fitted recently and it went off and whoever it was was scared off.I was surprised that I didn't hear the alarm as it was just after 11pm.Maybe I was in a deep sleep then .It does seem odd though that this is the third time on their property.
Fitz took his car in to the garage for some work to be done this morning ,so i went and picked him up after he had dropped it off. He seemed very down today. His Arthritis in his knees and hands is very painful at the moment .He was hobbling around with his stick feeling very sorry for himself :-( I will take him back to the garage tomorrow to pick his car up. As I left this morning to get him I spotted Thomas on next doors driveway eating a mouse :-S..I wish he wouldn't go around the front .There is no need when you think of all the fields and long gardens at the back of us. I just don't like the thought of him getting too near the road. But there is nothing I can do to stop him. Chris went on long walk this morning 7 miles!. He went to Fotheringhay .I hadn't realised there had been a castle there centuries ago.It all looked very interesting.Part of his walk took him through a Farm Yard and he said it felt like walking through someones garden LOL.I am guessing that it is just a public right of way.
Taliking about Apple Tree Yard.. I hadn't actually realised that 'she' doesn't know the name of the man she is having a torrid affair with !!!!.It was Fitz who pointed it out.Mel I would stick with it .I think it is going to get really good :-D
Chris and I are off to the Theatre on Thursday afternoon . It sounds like a light hearted Farce/Comedy called Invincible at the Theatre Royal in Northampton.Pizza Express beforehand so a nice day out :-D

Mary Queen of Scots was executed at Fotheringhay Castle Jane, in 1587 so it is quite a prominent place. Sons partner is home tomorrow afternoon which is putting a smile on his face!! Baby was born on the 20th Jan, a little boy weighing in at 10lbs!! I think the new grandparents plan to spend two months a year in NZ, this as well as skyping will keep them in touch pretty well. It would never surprise us if they decide to move to NZ when son retires in about 5 years time. - we shall see!! Pulled nearly a whole bucket of weeds this afternoon!! The bulbs are showing really well and so hopefully they'll be showy!! OH cooking tonight, so I'm planning some TV for us for later on!!

Evening all,
Another very frosty start to the day ,it was very foggy when i looked out just before six but when i got up to let Max out about half past six it had cleared and i could see the stars .
Oh my Liz thats a good size baby 10 pound ,at least sons partner got to spend a little time with the baby before coming home .
I was going to say do you think you should get your eye checked out i it feels gritty Frank ,or is it because you haven't had the drops in as much today and it has made the eye feel dry .
Gill your doing very well with your tree , i just carn't seem to get back to doing mine ,i think i need to go back over the tree to remind myself of who's who as you forget once you've gone back a few generations .
Poor old Fitz with his Arthritis ,i don't think all this damp foggy days help the cold gets in your bones, my knee has been quite painful and i've had to take some pain killers . I wonder why your neighbours are being targeted like that Jane ,lets hope the alarm has now put them off having another go. They must think they have some thing in the garage worth taking to keep coming back . Are they ones for leaving the garage door open for everyone to see whats inside ?
Had my hair cut today so it feels quite draughty round the neck now .

My Sister had a 10lb Breech/ Breach (sp) birth with her eldest son.Not good :-S
Mandy we wonder if someone might be after guns (next door). I have heard tonight that a man further down the road had had attempted break-ins ...he has guns too. Chris thinks that it is possible to find out who has a Gun Licence !!!. Who knows ! :-S We don't have any :-D :-D

It sounds like you're going to be busy with your tree Frank if you managed to get all those dates off your nieces and nephews. I haven't added anyone today, I just updated a few I already had.
WDYTYA starts again tomorrow, I like that programme. Then there's a new programme called British History's Biggest Fibs with Lucy Worsley, which should be interesting. It's starts on Thursday at 9pm on BBC4
Your poor neighbour Jane, good job the alarm frightened them off this time. Do you think they are coming back because they think the things they've taken might of been replaced by the insurance company so they maybe wanting to take the new things now? Sorry to hear about Fitz, hope he's feeling a bit brighter now and he's in less pain. The cold weather won't be helping though. It sounds like you've got a nice day out planned for Thursday, it's going to be cold so wrap up warm ;-)
Oh, how nice, a little boy Liz, he was a big baby wasn't he? I'm glad your son's partner saw her grandson before she came back home. So you've been busy in the garden, I was like that the other week, it sounds like your garden is growing just as much as mine. There are so many plants trying their best to grow, it must of been the mild weather we had before Christmas that has started them off. The flowers I bought with Sandra last year and potted up are doing really well, although I did put them in the greenhouse to protect them from the frost as they droop otherwise. Sandra is looking forward to them all flowering so she can take a photo. I'm keeping them watered so it shouldn't be to long now before they are all in flower, there's only a few in flower in each pot so far.
It sounds very cold by you Mandy with all the frost and fog, hope it warms up soon for you then you won't feel the draught from your new hair cut :-)

Evening All,
Jane I think burglars quite often come back after a few months to steal the new stuff that's been replaced after doing a previous burglary so maybe that is what has happened with your neighbour. It could be their house they are targetting as it's likely to have new goods!! Fitz sounds as if he's struggling a bit with one thing or another and he must be fed up as it can all get a bit wearing when you are in pain as we know! Chris's walk sounded good and I know Fotheringay features in OH's family tree although I've never been there. We always feel we have to tiptoe when walking through farmyards or by them on a walk.......hoping the resident dog doesn't think we need seeing off!
Gill you are certainly making your family tree grow! It is very satisfying to add to it isn't it. I hope it stays fine for your OH to mend the car tomorrow.
Well, the carvery just 10 minutes walk away next to the big island is closing in 4 days to become a steakhouse! For someone who doesn't like beef it isn't good news. It's the second carvery we go to to become a steakhouse in the past year. :-S
OH went to W H Smith today with his coupon and went and found the book he wanted straightaway. He said there was a big stand with them on that had obviously been there longer than 24 hours!! :-S
Does nothing go right? Today OH has received a letter about refund on water rates in respect of his mum and dad's house that was sold a year ago!! He can't pay it in as it's in his dad's name and the bank account was closed nearly a year ago. He's had to get on the phone. to sort it out! I have had an email to say OH's original turntable I ordered and then cancelled is on it's way to us!!! :-0 :-0 :-0 OMG we don't want one each!! lol.
