Afternoon all
A bit warmer here today than yesterday. Last night was so cold we kept the heating on. I felt hot around 4am which woke me up so I turned it off then as the bungalow was warm enough. We had frozen pipes a few years ago so we didn't want that to happen again.
It does make a difference Mel once you've cut down all the dead stuff in the garden, I did mine a few weeks ago and it looks so much tidier. How are you feeling now, hope the sneezing and eye ache have gone? <3
That's good your eye is feeling better today Frank. Isn't Ros lovely looking after you, she is good to you. Mind you she's good to everyone isn't she? The stew will keep you both nice and warm. I didn't realise Spy in the Wild was still on, my series link on Sky had stopped so I've put it back on my planner for the next one as Sandra and I like that programme. We can always watch the one we missed on catch up.
Pleased to hear of the results of your diabetes test Anne, it's so important to keep up with these test isn't it? The trial run sounds a good idea let's hope they keep it as it will also save lots of time.
So no more peaceful days after next week Liz, I'm having to many peaceful days with OH back in work. I got used to OH being here and really miss him now. I'm glad he fixed the car as he's starting to feel a bit better from the virus now he's not having to walk to and from work in the cold.
I lost track of time today and only noticed how late it was when it started going dark. I've been looking at my family tree again and have managed to find more people. I seem to be on a run at the moment ;-)

Thought I would pop in before the Evening News. Not that there is much of anything of interest to me, MURDERS, Muggings, Donald Trump. Etc. etc. Rory McGraph has got himself into a bit of bother hasn't he. He is so lucky to have his wife stand by him. I know I would have been out on my ear if I had done that.
So the car is up and running again Gill. Pleased it was only the starter motor.
Good news with your check up Anne. Are you on a strict diet ??
We like to have lunch out if we can once a week. If we have a dinner lunch it saves cooking at night.
The stew was lovely at lunchtime, I think we will have some more this evening.
Mel, I miss my fishing, as I am sure your OH does. Will he go when the weather improves, or is it time he packed it up ??
News just starting.

Mel do you still see the Hogs? Or have they gone to bed now? Yes ,if it is your TV ,you should have first pick of programmes :-D :-D :-D
Frank ,you sound quite tickety Boo today :-D..Things are definitely getting much better for you now with the sight and your knee. Yes it was The Royal Theatre we went to yesterday. I don't know if it was a man or a woman snoring lol But it kept starting and stopping so i think someone must have been giving them a dig in thr ribs . Honestly it was so funny :-D.But I imagine a bit embarrasing for Snoring Norman /Norma !!!
Anne, all good on the health front then :-D. That's good news.
I have made a Beef Bourguignon(sp) for dinner.Fitz called in just now and said he could smell Bourguignon so I must have done it right :-D.He brought a card for Chris's Birthday for Sunday, and also some old photos he has of a cottage he stayed in years ago in Pembrokeshire. He wants Chris to paint him a picture of the cottage for his 70th birthday in July. Hannah rang earlier. It is one year on Sunday that she and Gareth met(on her Dads Birthday :-D ) They are going back to the place they first met to celebrate. Ahhhh !How romantic <3

Liz, Cas will miss going beating.I haven't seen our usual lot of people doing that. They must have to use different fields now since all the 'works' have started .Anglian Water have taken over several fields opposite us. :-S
The mention of fishing brings back few memories for me. Chris use to do Fly Fishing, and spent hours and hours making his own flies. He had special wooden boxes to keep them all in. We never ate any fish he caught,It was trout and neither of us liked it.So they were given away.
Dinner ready here now :-D

has it been that long Hannah and Gareth have been together, doesn't time fly. How romantic to go back to the place they first met <3 What a nice idea for Chris to do the painting. I wish I could paint.
Yes the car is still going and OH is very happy Frank, it's been so cold lately it wouldn't of been very nice for him to have to walk to work.
Have you decided what you're having for dinner yet Mel, I haven't had a chilly for a while, might make one tomorrow ;-)

Evening all,
Not so cold today and we saw the sun for a little while .
Glad your eye is beginning to focus a little better Frank and your knee is beginning to behave its self too. A stew sounds just the ticket in this cold weather i always think it tastes better the next day , did you make dumplings to go with it ?
Gosh Jane where has the year gone it doesn't seem that long ago you were saying they were together ,that's lovely them going back to the place they met , oh to be young again :-)
That's not good having all that mud on your road with the frosts Ann , it must go hard and very rutty, not good for driving over ,imagine what it will be like if it rains quite a mess i should think . You sound as if you have made Sandra a happy girl with her pink bracelet .
Glad your test result was good Anne ,does it seem a week since you saw dear little Ruby , have you been buying all sorts ? i know i did for Max :-)
Talking about test results Colin had a call from the doctors yesterday to say the doctor would ring him on tuesday about the blood test he had because they thought he might be lacking vitamin D . Colin had the blood test before christmas and rang ten days later for the results ,the receptionist told him every thing was ok and he needed no further action ... well it carn't be if the doctor is going to ring !!!
We have Katie coming tomorrow for her sleep over , i have been looking to see what things we could do and i think it will be some straw weaving ,i think it's some thing she will like doing and looks easy enough . I asked what she would like to eat tomorrow night and she said Fish and chips :-D

Evening All,
I have to chuckle at Katie.....she knows exactly what she wants doesn't she.......a list of her Christmas presents and now F&C! I bet she's been looking forward to her sleepover. I quite fancy the straw weaving myself!!
My car was iced up well this morning so I had to be up even earlier to scrape it with going to class. It wouldn't be so bad only I was awake till 3.00am again. :-S The neighbour at the end was tooting when I got up as a lorry had parked across the back of his car so he couldn't get off his drive. The driver was nowhere in sight.
It's good you had good news on your tests Anne. It always preys on my mind while you wait for these things, even when you don't expect there to be a problem. Well, it won't be long before little Ruby turns your life upside down! Well, she'll probably be turning her bed upside down!
Well Sandra must be chuffed if she was wearing her bracelet again today Gill. Did she sleep in it!! lol. Good that the car is fixed now so your OH can drive to work.
OH had some bad news this morning as he heard a footie pal of his from way back died yesterday. He used to run a shop for the football club and drive the minibus to take some of the fans to matches. He had surgery and further treatment for prostate cancer about 2 years ago and was doing well. Then recently OH had heard he seemed down, wasn't eating and had lost weight. So sad as he was only 51.
That's a brilliant idea of Fitz's for Chris to do a painting of the cottage for his 70th birthday Jane! I'd love to see it when it's done. Ages ago I did think of doing a portrait of one of his ancestors for him as a surprise but wasn't confident I could do it well enough!! It's hard not to snigger when you hear snoring like that in the theatre or cinema!! lol. I bet you had tears rolling down your face! The only theatre we have been to in Northampton is The Derngate. I was surprised a whole year has gone by since Hannah met her Gareth. They will be reminiscing when they return to where they met.
Frank it sounds like you may have turned the corner with your knee and eye which must be a relief after all the bother you have had. It was good Ros helped get you all freshened up, you must have felt good after. :-)
I bet after next week Cas will be wondering why the beating has stopped Liz. She must be fit with all the running about and will be full of beans expecting to be going. Yes, I find a day on your own occasionally is far more productive!
Mel, if it's to be your telly, don't forget to remind OH that it can only have your programmes on it. :-D It would be a shame if he couldn't go fishing anymore as he enjoys it. Maybe there are places he could go that wouldn't involve much walking, even if he had to drive a bit further.

Morning all,
Nice sunny day with white clouds scudding across the sky from the west.
How sad that John Hurt has died. I liked him as an actor. I must admit I thought he was older than 77 though.
Not a lot planned for today so I shall just take it as it comes. One thing I wnat to do is clean the banties out if I can shut them in the downstairs bit I can do their bedroom. I did the downstairs when they were in bed in the week just before it is too dark to see.
I also want to get on with my craft.

Morning all, evening Kim,
I isn't know John Hurt had died, haven't had any radio on.
Bright sunny morning here, bit of a breeze but much warmer. Thank goodness. !! I will be able to walk to the at Lunchtime. Liverpool are playing.
Ros is going out with (Sids) Val to Rushden to a jewellery/bead shop. Her nose has been put out of JOINT this morning. The other day she got me to order something from "Jewellery Maker" so now when she orders anything at night when I am in bed. I get a email confirming her order. What she spends is her own money, so none of my business. When I told her this morning "I see you had a good spend last night" She said HOW DO YOU KNOW !!! She's going to ring them to tell them not to CONFIRM THE ORDERS.
12 months and counting then Jane. I like the others thought it was only a few months.
Ros has just put drops in my eyes, so Ican't see a great deal. So will come back later.

Does Ros sell any of the jewelry she makes Frank? At least if you get the order confirmation you can usually track it so you know when about it should arrive and if it goes astray.
You did'nt say how you slept last night Frank so I take it it was'nt too bad.
Must go and do my egg delivery and the hsop before I get the lunch.

Afternoon All,
A beautiful day here with lots of sunshine! :-D OH is off to a match soon after blowing a tyre up again on his car and I'm off out with my camera next. I shall just go where the car takes me I think and see if I spot some nice wintery landscapes.
OH Frank Does ROS think you are getting too much info? lol. I sometimes tell OH what I have spent but it isn't a given as like Ros it's my own money.
Well I'd better go now before the sun does!

Afternoon all
Sunny here after a dull morning. Still a bit cold in the wind though.
Straw weaving Mandy, I've never heard of that, it sounds fun though I'm sure Katie will love it. So Max is going to have another fun day with Katie, he'll be tired later like he was last time and no doubt hogging the fire again for a nap ;-) Hope al goes well for Colin on Tuesday, fancy the receptionist saying everything was okay when it wasn't. I'm sure the doctor will sort out any problem there may be.
Yes Ann, Sandra hasn't took the bracelet off since it arrived apart from when she has a wash, she even sleeps in it. It's her favourite :-) <3 Sorry to hear about your OH's pal, 51 is so young.
Oh dear Frank, so Ros doesn't want you to know how much she spends, wouldn't it be easier for her just to change the email address to hers rather than not having the order confirmed?
Sandra is jealous of you Mel, having a bit of snow. She's hoping we get some now, but I doubt we will. I remember it snowing in March once so there's still time.
Going to take another look at my family tree today, I seem to be finding quite a few people lately. Never did find anything on Josepha though. I read through some old messages last night and it mentions that she was native American and belonged to a tribe and had a tribal name, so I contacted the person to see if I can find out more, just waiting for a reply now.

OH has just come home from the Shoot. It was only a small family affair and went extremely well. Cas was the only working Cocker there, she behaved perfectly and did all she was supposed to with a lot of confidence. A chap who trains gun dogs told OH that she has all the makings of a really good gun dog, so we're feeling well chuffed with her! Cas has had a bath and her dinnner and is now fast asleep!! OH is having a cuppa and debating what to do next! Years ago we had separate bank accounts and a house account that we both contributed to for domestic expenses, but now we have a joint a/c which all our money goes into and we both draw on it as we see fit. Neither of us feels we HAVE to tell the other what we spend although we usually do out of courtesy particularly expensive purchases; so long as the a/c balances at the end of the month that's all that matters. This works well for us, but maybe not for everyone. Nice sunny afternoon and much warmer!

Top marks for that lovely dog and a GOLD STAR for being such a lovely little girl Liz. <3 Sounds like she had a great time out there today and made Ian and yourself very proud of her. Good teaching never goes a miss and Ian has done a wonderful job with her.

I've replied to your PM Mel. So the snow didn't last, I tried to explain to Sandra that if we did get any snow then it wouldn't stick as it was to warm. It's really sunny out there now and has warmed up a lot from the last few days.

Afternoon All
That was very sad about OH's footie friend Ann. I seem to remember you mentioning a couple of years ago that he had been diagnosed with cancer. So young too :-(
I think if you were to do a painting of one of Fitz's family he would be tickled pink .You did that good one of OH.How about trying George M !!!.
Hannah had been seeing Gareth for several months before she told us.I think it was back in June that she finally decided to tell us. I think after the dreadful break up with John, she wanted to make sure it was going to last before she said anything. It is all looking good and they seem a great match ,so fingers crossed :-D
Good Cas :-D..She is a little star isn't she Liz.Ian has trained her well :-D
So Fish and Chips is the menu for tonight then Mandy :-D.I bet Katie is having a lovely time now with you. How is Son and Jake today?
Sandra is obviously thrilled with he bracelet ,especially if she is wearing it to bed bless her :-D :-D..There is still plenty of time for snow Gill. It didn't feel so cold here this morning, but now I think it is really chilly. I don't seem to be properly awake today .I woke up tired even though I actually had a good nights sleep . I popped out this morning as Fitz gave us a £10 coupon off wine for Majestic Wines, and it runs out on Monday. So we coudn't waste that could we lol. I bought 6 bottles of white wine .All different ones.I thought it would be a change rather than sticking to the usual favourites.
James had his car MOT this morning .He needed 2 new tyres and tracking ,but other than that all was fine.I must remember to book mine in for the first service.I meant to do it this week.
Chris seems to be hobbling a bit today.I think he has overdone the walking this week and he thinks he has strained a muscle in the groin area :-S.So he is not doing anything strenuous today. He is painting in the summerhouse.
Gill is Josepha related to you?Do you have Native American Blood?I do hope you can be able to find out more about her.
Frank ,I hope your eyes cleared well enough after the drops so you could walk to the Pub to watch the footie . I did have to smile at the problem of you seeing what Ros has spent LOL. I'm sure there will be a way so that you don't see :-D :-D We have a joint account ,and I have one which I call my housekeeping one.So that is the one I use for food, diesel ,anything really to do with household stuff. It is a bit daft as it would be just as easy to just have the one joint one.But this way I have a certain amount in the account each month and use it for what it is meant for.Clothes ,hair and anything else will be from the joint. It works for me this way and we have always done it this way.
It has suddenly got dark.I need to put some light on.

Mel how much longer do you have to keep the hens in. I haven't heard the latest news on the Bird Flu thing.
James is doing a Thai Green Curry for Chris's birthday tomorrow. Chris chose that. Not sure I will really enjoy it as it will have lots of chillie :-S.I will be sweating buckets !!!.Just the smell will set me off Remember the long handled Fork Chris had for Christmas? Well it broke the first time he used it :-S. Luckily all we had to do was to send a photo of it to Dobies and within 2 days a new one arrived :-D..That was pretty good service.I had visions of trying to wrap and post the old one ! which would not have been an easy thing. I have a feeling I might be repeating myself telling you all this :-S.. It's my age LOL I notice sometimes that Chris askes me the same thing sometimes .I no doubt do the same. I was only thinking this morning that Chris will be 64 tomorrow. The same age as my Dad when he died!! It gave me quite a jolt .It was quite an unsettling feeling.
I can see some rather big dark clouds getting very close.Looks like rain clouds to me.
