Surprise !!! Evening all,
That serial is on about the Hotel in London through the war. (I can hear the sirens (sp).
What a cheek your neighbour has Jane. If it rains tonight the page will expand to THREE times their size. You should open them and pour a bucket of water on them TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. (HORRIBLE PERSON AREN"T I ) lol lol
Yes Ann Left handers can be very deceiving, when playing racket games can't they. I used to play tennis in my teens and had a wonderful back hand. I think I got that from my MUM. If you gave her any cheek, you got a BACK HANDER lol
I banged the back of my right hand today. It's quite swollen and the veins are really showing up. I expect a nice bruise tomorrow.
Thanks for your kind words for Conrad. I'll give him his due, he takes things in his stride, and very little upsets him. I don't think I have ever seen him loose his temper. ( NOT LIKE HIS DAD) !!!
The Pork ribs were a bit of a disappointment. The Chinese Marinade didn't have much flavour, It's one Ros bought in a tub. So that will go in the bin tomorrow, and we will go back to the FLAVOR IT in a packet. They do the pepper sauce and Mint marinade also.
Well my day is almost over, I will have a look on FB to see if there is any news on my sister, then finish my beer and turn in for the night. I just hope I can sleep. !!!

I did'nt realize I had'nt been on here since this morning!!. You have posted such a lot its taken me ages to read it all.
Talking of scam phone calls, I had one this morning on my mobile. It said " As your flight was cancelled you could get up to £510 back in compensation etc etc." Now IF I was a person who does fly, or should I say goes on flights on planes etc then I may have wondered what it was about but as I have never ever flown abroad or anywhere in my life they picked t he wrong person to annoy.
Yes Sandra's cards are lovely and so interesting with ll her stickers on them. My last one had Elephant stickers on it she got when they went to the zoo.

Morning all,
Another dull and dreary day but this time its windy out there too and we have that fine rain so all in all not a pleasent day at all, and to crown it all its shopping day. All I can say is I am glad I don't have to walk very far.
How is the knee and eye this morning Frank? I hope they are both easing up and not giving you so much pain and that you had a better night than the night before.
Well this is the last day of January and it dos'nt seem like yesterday Christmas was here and now its the first month of the new year gone already :-S I think the older I get the quicker the time passes. Oh was only saying the other day that when he was a child a year was three years long and now he is a man a year is only 6 months long.
Remember how big your school was when you were tiny and how small it looks today?

Morning all, evening Kim,
Filthy morning here also Mel, thankfully we don't need to go out.
I'm sitting here in my jogging bottoms, and Ros is busy making more blankets for the children. Margaret sorted out her tension on the machine yesterday, so lets hope all is fine now.
Touch wood, the knee is being very good at the moment, No pain to talk of, just a little niggle now and again. So I think I have turned the corner. It was SIX MOTHS on the 29th that I had it done. Eye gets a bit itchy, but I manage to keep myself from having a scratch.
Enjoy your shopping Mel, and don't forget OH CIDER.
Roast loin of pork tonight, together with roasties and a good selection of veg.
No news regarding my sister, I left a message on the answer phone in case her son picked it up. but no joy. Will ring my SIL to see if she knows.
What's on the AGENDA for everyone today ?? If like me. NOTHING. !!!

Won't forget his cider Frank its one of the first things in the basket as its heavy.
Just had some toast so nearly ready for the off.
Looks like everyone is busy this morning.
It dos'nt seem like six months since your op. Time does fly as you get older..........
I thought when we retired I would have all the time in the world to do the things I like doing but there is just not enough hours in the day for me. I suppose I have gotten slower over the years. Can't move as fast as l'd like to or sew as fast or do the HW as fast if you know what I mean. Dinner seems to take ages to do some days.

Another gloomy, overcast day here and now drizzly rain as well.
Well I had a lie in as I was awake till gone 3.00am this morning....that's the second night on the trot! Also the window cleaner should have come yesterday morning but didn't so we were expecting him this morning and left our showers till we knew he wouldn't be coming. It's a nuisance as tomorrow we'll either have to shower before he is likely to come or wait till later again! :-S
I agree Mel, I thought just the same about retiring, thought I'd have time to do allsorts of things I never had time to do when working, but I know I am slower with the HW and gardening now and have to have more breaks! When you are young you don't anticipate that you will have backs and other joints that will hurt or that you'll get so tired. :-S
It suits me well not to cook much these days. I'm glad the habit was formed before OH retired because I never knew what time he'd be home. Him living on his own before we moved here helped too as he had a taste of what it was like having to get meals every day.
Oh Frank, just as your eye and knee are beginning to improve you go and bash your hand! I hope it isn't too bruised today. Yes a good left handed, backhand is very useful and deceptive in racquet sports. I can remember my dad threatening to 'show you the back of my hand' which meant stingers across your legs or backside for something trivial.
I wonder if the parcel has been collected from Jane's yet? We still have this turntable in our way in the porch. The supplier was supposed to ring us to arrange collection, but we've heard nothing the past few days. I hope I don't have to ring yet again. I said to OH that we'd have to charge storage soon. :-)
OH saw the lady with the cat on the lead from the new bungalow when he put the bins out last night. He said the cat jumped and climbed up our Pine tree on the front. He was a bit taken aback when she said the cat always does that but she doesn't let him go up high!! OH said to me what does she think it is, the local park!! I know cats can roam where they like when they are loose, but it seems a cheek when he is on a lead to let him climb our tree in our garden. I was going to put one of my birdboxes up there this year but it'll frighten the birds off if she's doing that every day. She walks the cat up the close every evening when it's dark which is really dangerous as there are no street lights or pavements where we are and the road is so narrow I have to pull over to the right to turn sharp left into our drive. Neither she nor the cat has anything reflective on so you don't see them till the last minute as she walks the side the hedge is and it obscures your vision. :-S

Back from shopping all unpacked and put away and had a reviving MOT and two choc and cream eclairs, naughty but nice and I only had some toast this morning and I have macaroni cheese for tonight. Oh has his chicken tika curry, bargees and a small bread thing.
Ann you should tell that lady that her cats claws will damage your tree. If it does it every night it may kill it in the end. You need to put some nice BIG grease bands up the trunk of your tree and see how she likes the cat bringing that indoors!!
It was pouring when I came out of Morrisons and I got soaked going to the car and I had parked nearer the store than I usually do right by a trolly port. It was light rain when I went out but has been steady all day. The back field is drenched as I walk across it to give the chickens their food and fresh water. The water is just not soaking away. There was loads on the roads too on the way there and worse on the way home.

Evening all,
Been a gloomy old day here and the wind seemed to get up after lunch ,when we got up this morning and looked out there was this strange yellowy light it was as if the sun was shining but it was cloudy .
Well the doctor rang Colin and he does need to take some vitamin D tablets so that receptionist got that wrong saying no further action needed ,it is bad really as Colin could have been taking the tablets for the last month ,he has been saying for ages that his legs ache some days more than others and these tablets might have helped eased them a bit .
Oh Ann you are having some bad nights you must feel really tired in the day ,is there nothing you could take to relax you and help you sleep ? Well i don't think i would be very pleased with the woman letting her cat go up your tree , i know you carn't stop cats climbing but she could if its on a lead ,is there any thing you could spray on the tree to try and put it off ,once it got out of the habit it might not go for it again .
Sounds as if things are really improving for you now Frank with the knee and your eye ,by the summer you'll be out in the garden reading your books again .
We find we take longer to do things now although i think some of it is that you know you don't have to rush to get things done so you do take your time ,Colin is always saying we'll sit and have a coffee now and then we'll do a bit more .
So a wet old day for you then Mel on your shopping day ,it always seems to pour when your ready to come out of the shop , we had macaroni cheese last night .
Look like we're in for some very windy weather here in the next few days could be thunder and lightning too .

Morning all,
Brighter here this morning with a little sunshine and clearer skies so I hope its going to stay like this for the rest of the day.
HW planned for today. Need to do a bit of ironing and clean the bathroom which always seems to need cleaning. Then I will have a hoover and I must dust the bedroom as when I arose with the sun shining through the window I noticed the dust on the bedside table showing up in the light.

Morning sweeties, evening Kim.
Miserable morning here again with rain. No wind as yet but it is promised before the weekend.
Had the renewal notice for the car insurance yesterday. GONE UP AGAIN. I have been searching the web for quotes but they are all £50.00 plus dearer, and bigger excess. I thought £153.99 was dear enough. !!!
Ann I would certainly have words with the CAT WOMAN. What a Bloo@y cheek letting it do that. Those sticky bands would also be a good idea.
I also had a bad night last night. After Sugar Free Farm. I decided to go to bed. I had been yawning all evening. The radio was rubbish, so settled down. Still awake when Ros came in at 1.15 so I got up until 3,30. I had a glass of PORT like Mel does. I think that helped. Dos was lying on her back and snoring like a TROUPER when I got back to bed. I though GREAT. !!! Gave her a nudge and she turned over.
My hand is a bit black this morning, so the bruise is coming out.
Have those bags gone yet Jane ?? I would charge her storage fees !!! ;-) ;-)
No plans for today, apart from sorting out the insurance. I have just had an email to say the MOT is due also. MORE EXPENSE I expect :-( :-( :-( :-(

All the bills seem to come in after Christmas. I have paid out something already this year and now the house insurance is due the day before my birthday which is'nt a nice present to have. Water pipe insurance as we are so far away from the road anything on the property side of the outside fenc e is down to us so I pay that to keep us covered.
Yes Frank a good glass of Port helps me or it may be two.......................I had another one of those nights the other night. Awake till past 4am. Like you my mind was working overtime that night and oh was snoring right in my ear. As he dos'nt sleep well anyway I never like togive him a shove. Once he's awake thats it, he has to get up. Might be something to do with being a fireman and having to wake up when there was a shout never mind what time it was.
I can remember him telling me they were all eating around the table when a shout came out and they all grabbed a few slices of bread and bunged their dinner in those and took them with them.

OH and Cas have gone for their last shoot today, so goodbye peace!!! OH was like that Mel in the Fleet Airarm. He was connected with air sea rescue which meant the duty crew had to be alert at a moment's notice day and night as flying was round the clock apart from bad weather, particularly when they were at sea and accidents/exercises were pretty frequent. They also had to be proficient in fire fighting to be able to offer backup to the fire crew in case of a multiple accident! They hoped he'd stay on after his National Service, but by that time WE had other plans!! Well, I've just taken delivery of 12 red roses, together with a very pretty card that had been left in our post box!!! The fact that its our 53rd(!!) wedding anniversary today could have something to do with it! Is it really that long?!! He's a good old stick for all I grumble!!!?? We pay most of our bills at the end of the month on our debit card, or monthly installments with the NFU. They are really good about this and as we've been with them for years we do get a good deal. Cas's insurance is done this way with them, so we don't notice it or have to remember to pay it! Better put these roses in water!

Happy Anniversary to you both, Have you any plans for a meal out tonight. ?? We always tend to go out for our birthdays and anniversary.
Ian was lucky to get in the Fleet Air Arms for National Service. I tried for the navy, but would only consider me if I signed on for a 5 year stint. Likewise I wanted to be with the RAF police dog unit. but they wanted me for 3 years, I did my service in the RAF for two years and that was that.
I can't seem to get my printer to work with this Mac book. Dos has called in at Curry's and they told her I should have a CD that came with the printer, and needs to be loaded in the Mac book. Now I have the job of finding it.
All our household bills are paid by Direct Debit. It's only the car insurance that I like to check every year. To see who's got the best offer . I might be lucky !!!!
Better start looking for this CD.

Afternoon all
Lovely and sunny here today and quite warm too. All the flowers are coming out nicely in the greenhouse. I've been watering them all this morning and tidying up the other plants, then had a quick look around the garden and found that one of my big red robins had a branch loose, must of been the squirrels running around the pot, so I brought it indoors and made 7 cuttings from it, hopefully they'll take, they are on my kitchen window sill for now, where I can keep an eye on them.
<3 <3 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LIZ <3 <3 Have you got anything nice planned for when your OH gets back? The roses sound lovely. The flowers my OH got me for our anniversary last month are starting to fade now. I sorted them out the other day, some of them needed taking out of the vases as they had gone over, the rest should last another week if I'm lucky :-) Enjoy your last day of peace.
Yes, Mel, I was thinking the same thing this morning, how January just disappeared, I found last year went by very quickly and now it looks as if this year is going to be the same. We say "white rabbits" three times in the North on the first day of each month for luck. I'd never heard of pinch punch before, until you all said it on here.
Have you found the CD yet Frank, hope you have and your printer is now working for you? How did you hurt your hand :-S it sounds painful, at least the bruising is coming out so it should feel much better soon. Sorry to hear you had another bad nights sleep. At least the glass of Port helped in the end ;-)
So Colin needed Vitamin D tablets in the end Mandy, yes that was wrong of the receptionist to say no further action needed. I wonder why she said that. At least he's on the tablets now so will start feeling the benefits soon.
What a cheek Ann, that woman letting her cat climb your tree, the sticky band sounds like a good idea, it'll soon put the cat off climbing. You don't want your tree damaged, that's how disease sets into the tree, once it's damaged.
I hope Jane is okay, I noticed she wasn't on here yesterday. I was so busy yesterday I didn't get a chance to go online. Making up for it today though as I have got lots of messages from tree match's I messaged the other day.
Well, I'd better go and read them all. Might grab a cuppa too.

<3 <3 Happy Anniversary Liz and Ian <3 <3
It's been raining most of the morning but has just started to improve and still not so cold.
Ann that woman has got a real cheek letting her cat damage your tree surely she is also trespassing on your property. Have you tried taking a herbal remedy to help you sleep, I find that Kalms help me if I take the sleep ones about 30mins before bedtime and there is also good nytol
I also take vitamin D tablets, Mandy and have been taking them since having chemo which can weaken your bones, I had a bone density scan beforehand which did show a weakness
Richard is home today as he had two wisdom teeth removed this morning at the moment it's no hot drinks or food, He had tomato soup lunchtime but only just warm enough and I will be making cheese and mushroom omelettes later so they needn't be too hot to eat.
I pay all my household bills monthly by direct debit so there is no chance of missing any, don't have a credit card so all other expenses are paid as and when things are bought
Naomi my youngest niece has just been diagnosed with Bells Palsy, poor girl, she has two little girls to look after and is Peter's youngest sister's daughter
We also said Pinch & Punch at the 1st of the month at school but my parents always said White Rabbits 3 times.

Afternoon Everyone I don't know why I never got on here yesterday.I know I was cooking in the morning ,the Fitz came up for lunch .He didn't leave until after 4 ,so that was the afternoon gone .Then Dinner and tv . Another day flown by.
Yes the big packages were collected .The reason why we had them for longer was that the Mother of the wife next door had died and they had been to the funeral. We now have 3 packages for the other neighbours LOL. Ann like you suggested maybe we should start charging storage fees :-D.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LIZ and IAN <3 <3 <3.. I bet your Roses look great.Or are they in bud as they sometimes are when they arrive. I just love Roses.
Well I managed to get an appointment with a GP this morning for my finger. He is booking me in for Minor Op Clinic to have a Steroid injection into the cyst/Ganglion.I may have to wait a while though as only one of the GP's does that injection. My appointment was for 9.10am and I was in at 9 and back home by 9.30 .Brilliant.
Do any of you belong to Travel Zoo? You can get some really good deals. I had one yesterday for 1 night ,3 course dinner and full Breakfast for £99 at a Riverside Pub near Ely. So I have printed of the voucher and just need to ring and book a night. We keep saying we really should go to Ely so this was the perfect excuse :-D. I think we might try and book for later in March. It is only about an hour or so drive,so not far at all.
I see we have storm Doris or Dora approaching for Friday. It looks like it will arrive just when James will be wanting to drive down to Jess.
I hope Richard will be able to enjoy that lovely tasty Cheese and Mushroom Omelette Anne :-D after having the wisdom teeth out.I could quite fancy that omelette myself :-D
Mandy I am still taking my Vit D tablets. I think Anne said she takes them too.Hopefully once your OH gets some extra Vit D in his body he won't get those dreadful achey feelings. It is amazing the effect it has. I think i still have another couple of months on my repeat prescription .The ones on prescription are stronger than the ones over the counter .
No fire today. It is so mild. We will need to order more logs very soon. This last lot has gone down very quickly.I think that will be a job to do next week.
Ann that is really naughty of that lady to let her cat climb your tree like that. She obviously doesn't think she is doing anything wrong. Maybe you or OH could mention you want to put a Bird Box up ( dropping the hint delicately :-D to keep off ) but keeping things 'friendly' :-D
I think I can hear Thomas meowing (sp) to come in.

So sorry to hear about your niece Anne, do they know what caused it? Had she had some kind of viral infection as I know this can start it off? The poor girl and two little girls to look after too, how old are her girls? How is Richard now, hope he's not in to much pain.
We haven't had any rain today, in fact it's been quite pleasant with the sun, but the wind has got up now. We're suppose to be getting a storm over the next few days, hope it's not to bad.
Good idea to go to the shops today Mel before the weather turns, your OH's right, it can be dangerous to go out if it's to windy, especially in open areas, the HW and ironing can wait. Maybe you could do those jobs tomorrow if the weather is bad. I keep meaning to start on some sorting I need to do, OH has got me a pile of boxes but I've been so busy with my family tree and HW I haven't got round to it yet. We're hoping to visit OH's mum on Friday so I doubt it'll be started this week.
