Afternoon all,

Well we've had lovely sun shine all the morning it was so warm coming through the conservatory windows then it clouded up and we had a shower of rain ,now it's dry with plenty of grey clouds .

I had to smile about the sausages Mel :-D you'll think of that now each time you go in there .
It must be windy your way if you have things blowing about in the garden .

Yes Ann you'll have to Ruby proof the garden ,you forget all the things they can get when they are little ,i had to move a lot of my pots as i had some slate chippings on the top of them .
That's good that Richard hasn't felt any after effects from having the wisdom teeth out .

Gill i only have to make the Victorian costumes thank goodness ,all the other dress up days DIL has got sorted ,i think for the space dress up DIL has leggings and tops with stars on.

Colin now has his Vitamin tablets ,they are a pretty bluey green colour ,you can see why children would go for them they look just like small jelly beans .

Pizza for us tonight nice and easy with a bit of salad .

We had to put chain link round our veg patch and flower beds to keep Cas off them! + a gate to stop her getting round the back of the cabin and going through the hedge into the field at the back of us! Round the back of the greenhouse had to be fenced off too! It was quite a performance!! It's all been left in place as she's a monkey for 'getting through'!! She's such a small girl so every nook and cranny is blocked up!! At least she doesn't chew the plants any more!!
It's tipping here and windy!!

My oh is reluctant to eat salad with his meal at night. He is quite happy to have it every lunchtime in wraps with some sort of meat or fish. Very occasionally I get away with it with pork saldad and chips as long as he can have chilli sauce with it.

Well another day just wasted on next to nothing so I think I will corn the girls and do a bit of ironing then I can justify sitting at the pc most of the afternoon.

Evening All
Well so far we have not got the bad weather. Although I reckon it might not be far off. It has been so mild today.I have had a short sleeved jumper on ALL DAY.

Mandy ,my Vit D tabs are the same colour os OH's. They must be the same .

Poor Merlin .I am sure he IS pissed off LOL.

Mel I remember Landcross. How lovely to see Daffodils already.
I noticed today that our Snowdrops are in flower
:-D.They are quite a large flower.

Ann,my fridge needs a good clean.I honestly can't remember the last time I did it. :-S
In fact lots of things here need a good clean.I just don't seem to be able to get into cleaning mode.

Secret Lives of 5 year olds and The Unforgotten tonight :-D,plus Eastenders .So that is me sorted this evening :-D :-D..I just love the Secret lives of the children.

Have to go now ,I need to get this Chicken Pie in the oven .

Sausages !!! :-D ;-)

Annx Report 2 Feb 2017 18:50

I couldn't remember if I'd even cleaned my fridge ready for Christmas Jane.........by the look of it I hadn't!! :-0 I don't seem to be in HW mode at all lately, it seems such a waste of time. There's no 'job satisfaction' when 5 minutes later it's getting messy again.:-S Perhaps I need a bit more sunshine to show up more of the cobwebs!! I love the programme about the 5 year olds too. I enjoyed the last episode of Silent Witness. I could just imagine being buried somewhere in a box wih a mobile, but not be able to tell anyone where you were!!!

I must go and look at our Snowdrops. OH said yesterday that he'll take me somewhere to see some if I want. The gorse has been in flower around here for ages and pink blossom (Almond?) on some trees. No Daffodils like Mel yet though.

OH enjoys salad and we mostly have it at the weekend, especially in the Summer. I like that you can plate it up earlier and stick it in the fridge and add bits when you have it later. OH always likes meat or fish with it, whereas I will just have it with cheese or boiled egg sometimes. He has to have salad cream on it though, something I never have!

I started taking a low dose of calcium and vitamin D last summer as I thought it wouldn't do any harm. I think I'd read somewhere that my thyroid medication could cause bone loss.

Better sort my beads for tomorrow next. We are doing a simple bracelet incorporating wire rings. :-)

;-) Sausages Mel LOL

Jane Colin's tablets are Colecalciferol 20 MCG i think that's right as i didn't have my glasses on when i now looked at the box .

Wind seems to have got up a bit ,tomorrow should be very windy

Annx

Annx Report 2 Feb 2017 19:07

Are you going to put a roast on each side of the sausage Mel!! ;-) ;-)

Jane

Jane Report 2 Feb 2017 19:17

I think mine are the same Mandy. I think most of us probably need a little bit of a boost of Vit D in the winter months.

Ann,is Anglessey Abbey too far from you to visit?. They apparently have a lovely Snowdrop Show.We went the year before last but just missed the snowdrops. .

The wind is definitely picking up here now.I opened the back door for Thomas to go out and all the doors inside slammed :-S. Hopefully he won't be out for too long. No rain though at all today. I was watching him trying to catch a mouse this afternoon. The mouse gave him a good run for his money ,but sadly ended up as a meal.

Ann ! :-D :-D(re: sausage and the potatoes )..What a picture it would make :-D :-D

We've just had boiled eggs and pita bread for supper and it was lovely. We always decide what we want to watch early on in the evening, and what, if anything, we want to record! It's always amicable, but then we have been married for ever and we both like roughly the same things. There's always the head phones as a last resort!!
Cas is running about with 'Teddy', shaking it like mad!!
Our hedge looks really good now, Its nice and tidy and has only cost us £20!! Can't be bad!!

Annx

Annx Report 2 Feb 2017 20:48

Crikey, that was a bargain Liz!!

Glad you mentioned that possibility Jane as I knew there was somewhere not too far where we hadn't been. I'll look it up and consult the 'oracle'. :-)

magpie

magpie Report 2 Feb 2017 22:29

It's our neighbouring farmer who cuts our hedges for us Ann, so it's done more as a favour than a paying job! I expect we shall be able to reciprocate in one way or another.
Tucked up in bed now, Cas is in her 'bedroom' with 'Teddy'!! Tomorrow we've got shopping, and I must make a hair appointment!!

Morning all,

Pouring here this morning and the winds blowing it in the back door porch. I put washing in last night after my shower so that will have to go in the dryer today. At least if its just really windy it stands a chance of drying a bit out on the line. Nothing like the smell of washing thats been in a cold breeze or wind.

Looking forward to the next Taboo.

I saw on the telly the day before yesterday BBC were advertising programs that would be coming on soon and Poldark was on there. I have just watched the last series again all but the last one or two so shall be all ready for the next lot now.

Morning Mel, morning all

Quite bright here, but according to the weather forecast it's suppose to be windy and rain this afternoon, so it sounds like we're going to get your weather later Mel.

So you're trying to Ruby proof your garden Anne, good idea you don't want her getting out and lost, hope the weather holds up so you can get on with it. Not long to go now before she's with you, I bet you can't wait? <3

If no one minds me asking does anyone else apart from Ann, have a special birthday this year, I bought a lovely 70th card for Ann yesterday. Hope you like it Ann and Sandra has bought all the things she needs to make you one from her, although she couldn't find any glitter. I think I might have some somewhere in the bungalow so I'll have a look around. I think glitter is more available around Christmas time.

We were out all day yesterday, the weather was a bit windy in the morning so we thought we'd better go out before it got worse and to our surprise the sun came out and it was pretty warm, until we were on our way home then the wind got up and it turned cold again. Sandra bought all sorts yesterday to make your card Ann and can't wait to make a start on it, bless her.

We tried everywhere to get hold of the rest of the books that follow "A Street Cat Named Bob" and could we find them??? Could we heck as like, so in the end I suggested going to the library and they had two of them, luckily they are the two that follow the first one, the last one they didn't have but said they would try and find it for her, so I've reserved it. I'd already reserved what we thought was the second book, but got a phone call this morning telling us that it's a remake of one of the books she'd already got off them. The remake is a book made for children to read which Sandra didn't need. So they have transferred the reservation money onto the last book which Sandra should be able to collect in a couple of weeks. I'm pleased we managed to get them as her little face fell when I couldn't find them in any shops to buy for her. I was going to get them as an early birthday present for her. She did find a DVD she wanted so I've got that as one of her birthday presents along with a CD she liked too.

We saw our mum's yesterday which was nice. With the car being off the road and OH back in work we hadn't been out this year, so it was nice to get out.. I don't know if it's the fresh air or all the walking we did, but I finally got a good nights sleep last night after a month of bad nights and feel great today. I'm going to catch up on my HW now.

What is everyone else up to?

Oh nearly forgot, thanks Mel for letting us know Poldark is coming back on, I shall keep an eye out for the start date now <3

Morning all, JUST. Evening Kim,

Fair sort of day here, hazy sunshine, and light breeze.

I am having a real job seeing through my glass's now. So I am attempting to type this without them.

Ros has put my drops in this morning, I am now down to 3 a day. She has also offered to cook dinner tonight. So another day off.

Gill, At my age every birthday is a special one ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) 2018 is a BIG special one for me. !!

I contacted another nephew this morning. My sister has been moved to Whipps Cross Hospital (Mel will know it ) She still hasn't much movement in her left side, so it seems worse than first thought. So I don't expect her home anytime soon. I know I was in for FIVE WEEKS when I had mine.

Not long now Anne before you have your little baby home with you. I would suggest a harness and lead for the first few trips into the back garden. That way she will know she must not go wandering around the flower beds, and escape routes <3 <3 <3

My eyes are beginning to ache, so I am off for a while.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Feb 2017 12:31

At least you are down to three drops a day now. So much better than the 6 a day you started with .

The wind dropped here last night and we had a beautiful star studded sky. Very different this mroning though. There is still a little breeze and some rain here. The ground is all soggy and the wet is laying on the top of it. Nearly got stuck in the chicken run when I went round to them this morning. Where I walk through the gate and up to the house is a right mud bath.

I forgot to buy pate' this week so I shall have to look for something for lunch and I forgot his fish sticks.

Friday again where do the weeks go? It dos'nt seem long ago since my last birthday and now its coming around again soon.

Gillx Report 3 Feb 2017 13:46

I'm sitting here giggling over your post Frank, not what you've written but the way I first read it. I read you were having trouble seeing through your glass eye. I think it's because I was thinking of your eye when I read the word SEEING :-D :-D :-D :-D Sorry to hear about your sister, hope she's not in hospital for to long and is on the mend soon <3

I wasn't sure how to ask about all your birthday's and didn't want to use the word BIG incase I offended someone. I was thinking all birthday's are special though ;-)

It looks like your weather might be heading our way Mel, the wind is picking up and it's gone dull. Be careful out there in the mud <3 Sandra has put Poldark on the list of TV programmes she has and will keep an eye out as well for the start date...she's so organised :-)

Well, I've done all the hoovering and polishing, had a bath and done a few loads of washing, changed the bed, made a chilli for dinner and now I'm making some sausage rolls......it's surprising what a good nights sleep can do. :-D

Better go and check the sausage rolls, see you all later.

Good afternoon all

My next special birthday is the same as Frank's also the same month. Good news that your drops are being reduced Frank.I hope your sister starts to improve at least she is in the right place

I have already bought Ruby a harness and lead also a mini extendable lead, everything I have bought for her so far looks so tiny,

I have started on the part of the garden that needs to be Ruby proofed fortunately this part can easily be shut off from the larger garden at the top which has the 2 ponds in. When going out of the back door the small part has a step up to the rest it goes up to a small raised brick walled plot where I have the rose bushes, so between them we have a movable fence that blocks this part off we used this when the girls were tiny and when Amy was a puppy but I won't be letting her out on her own for a while anyway, my main concern is the cat flap but even so it leads out onto the enclosed part.

Gill you can buy the cat named Bob books on Amazon including some used ones in good condition.

The vitamin D tablets I take on prescription are Adcal-D3 lemon flavoured. I take these twice a day

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Feb 2017 14:59

Yes Gill thats a good idea Anne has about the books on Amazon. Do you remember me saying I had lost my Farmhouse Kitchen Cook Book?? I had had it years. Well oh looked on Amazon and they had one on there in good condition for 1p so he ordered it for me. It came a while later and it is in good condition. The only thing that it has is some writing in pencil next to the Christmas cake recipe which can be rubbed out. I use the drop scone recipe in there and the scones and cheese scones and have always found them better than other recipes. I think the postage was £2.59 but even so I have my book back now.......... :-D :-D :-D
