Oh Wow Mel, 1p, even with the P&P it wasn't a bad price. The only thing with Amazon is I haven't got a clue what to do on it, how to set up an account, (I assume you'd need one) or how to order things, even how to search the site properly. I believe there is Prime Amazon or something like that, where they charge extra for a faster delivery, or at least I think that is what it is, but like I said I've not got any clue what I'm doing on that site which is why I don't bother. It's the same with ebay or any of those types of sites. Luckily Sandra is one for only reading books once so now she has them from the library she wouldn't want them as birthday presents anymore.
I could do with a Dummies guide to Amazon, but I'd probably have to go onto Amazon to get it LOL :-D :-D :-D

The wind is getting up here, No rain yet !!!
Ros Showered and washed her hair this morning. Now in rollers, with the hair dryer on. She did two loads of coloureds today. Some drying on Rads, the towels etc are in the tumble dryer.
Mel, if this weather turns as bad as it says it will, you will have plenty of time to do your CRAFT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. When can the GIRLS be let out again, I think it's soon ??
Gill I had to smile when I read your post. Glass Eye indeed. !!!!
Where's LADY JANE today, lunching with Fitz with white wine ??? hic hic.
Sounds like you have everything in hand Anne for the 18th. ;-) ;-)
I have had yet another lazy day. I have been on my cycle thingy to keep my knee exercised. I really need to get out for a walk. But not in this weather. Roll on the better weather when I hope I can get down the canal again. That's a nice walk, providing I don't fall over. :-P :-P :-P
Antique Road Trip on now so will watch that.

Lady Jane here :-D.. I have had a day of doing some very badly needed housework. The lounge carpet looks almost new after I hoovered the life out of it. I hadn't realised how bad it was.All the settees and furniture moved and hoovered underneath.I was sweating cobs by the time I finished that. This big pull along Dyson weighs a blooming ton and is too cumbersome and awkward to drag around. It's quite exhausting.Lots other cleaning jobs got done too ,so I have had quite a productive day :-D. No lunching with Fitz Frank lol. Once in a week is enough :-D
It has been a reasonable day so far .I managed to get Thomas's bedding things dried on the washing line. But he is funny. He didn't seem to like the new clean smell. I think the wind could be building up a bit now.I just hope that James doesn't have a difficult drive down to Kent tonight. The Dartford Crossing is always a bit of a concern when it is high winds,so I hope it doesn't have to close.I will try and suggest that he leaves earlier rather than later. Chris did another 6 and a half mile walk this morning. He had almost seized up by the time he got home,so has had a nice long soak in a hot bath this afternoon.Something tells me he will be in bed well before me tonight :-)
Anne your garden sounds perfect for Ruby .Especially having the safe bit just outside the back of the house. She will probably be far too small yet to use the cat flap ,but if she sees the cats using it ,it might give her ideas LOL.I told my Sister to have a look at Angies Bostons on FB and said to look for the video of Ruby :-D. She is getting a bit stressed about having to put her little Jilly in Kennels when she ges on the cruise. But Jilly will be in with the other 2 dogs ,so should be fine. Janice has had a word with her daughter and asked her to take Jilly if there are any problems.
Ann,Hannah is going to Luton Hoo on Sunday for afternoon Tea !!!!!.It is her friend's Baby Shower. So I reminded her that it is Fitz's ancestors place :-D :-D.I said she will be sure to be impressed LOL.That will be something to tell her friends :-D :-D
Fish and Chips tonight. Just the frozen ones.'Youngs' Gastro Beer Battered Cod Fillets and Mc Cain Homestyle Chips ,Peas and Green Beans. Simple ,just how I like it :-D

Evening all,
It's been a nice day here and quite mild ,there is a little wind but nothing like i thought it was going to be unless we get it in the night. It was nice in the garden this afternoon ,Colin was chopping some sticks and Max was out chasing his new ball i could have had a sit in the sun if the garden seats had been out but we put them away for the winter.
We have Jake tomorrow for his sleep over ,goodness knows what we will do , now he's older it's harder to find things to keep him ocupied, we'll probably take him out some where , he's asked for a roast chicken dinner as he likes my roasties .
I hoovered through today and finally remembered to get the cobwebs i noticed hanging in the hall the other day ,we've had a few little gnat like things flying about too it must be the sun hatching them out .

Well it has just started raining here now. Thomas went out and came back in after just a minute. So I reckon that is him in now for the night.I have topped the litter tray up :-D :-|

I think you could be in for some nasty weather Mandy. It looks to be coming your way tomorrow or Sunday.
How old is Jake now Mandy?
I have been doing my craft work most of the afternoon and have been really enjoying it. Just finished another bit so thats four bits done now and working on another bit at the moment.
Have cooked a loin of pork joint for tonight to have with some Southern Fried Wedges and brocc and peas. Nice and easy.
I must have miss read the clock this afternoon as I did our afternoon coffee and bun at 6pm!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was 5pm.
We get lots of gnats and tiny midge type flies but I thought it was becasue our ponds are near the house.

Yes Jane it's been one a week ,just Lacey to come after Jake but she will only come for the day i don't think she would settle over night so she's going to come for the day in the half term week ,no one to stay next sat as it's my birthday but the family will be coming to have a take away chinese meal with us .
Mel Jake is eleven ,twelve in May so he's at an age when it's hard to find things to do with him.
I think it should get rough here over night ,i let Max out just now and the wind seems stronger and it's now raining.

It sounds like we've all been doing our housework today ;-)
So you have a new looking carpet now then Jane, I did smile when you said you'd hoovered the life out of it ;-) :-D
Have you decided where to take Jake yet Mandy, how old is he? Maybe you could take him go carting if there's one nearby. Does he like things like that, or is he to young? It's nice he likes your roasties I like Sandra's roast potatoes, I don't know what she does to them but they're much better than mine.
How's your knee after your exercise Frank. It seems we've both been smiling over your glass eye :-D How is your eye, hope it's a bit better now? A nice walk by the canal sounds just the ticket for when the weather improves, your knee will be much better by then.
The weather turned bad here before and we got the rain. Sandra said you can have the rain back Mel as she prefers the sun LOL ;-) ;-) Did you manage to get some crafting done in the end?

Didn't see your posts Mel and Mandy.
So Jake is eleven, maybe he would like go carting then, just a thought, but most boys like cars don't they and go carts are similar?
I see you have done some more crafting then Mel, can't wait to see what it is ;-) Fancy reading the clock wrong, mind you it's easily done isn't it?

Gill it's easy to purchase things on Amazon you can just go into it and look but if you want to buy something they only need your name, address ,password of your choosing and of course method of payment but you can just browse without entering your details, don't be tempted to choose Prime as it's not worth it.
Jane our dinner tonight was also a Young's Gastro one but we had the plaice, I sometimes buy the Basa fillets one which is one my favourites

Evening All,
It's been windy here all day with a few spits of rain too. OH said it was supposed to be far worse!
Gill, Sandra mustn't worry if she hasn't any glitter.........I'm sure I'll love whatever she does!! :-D That was a good idea of Mel's about the Amazon books. See if you can register with the site. I haven't joined Amazon Prime, you don't have to.
Anne your garden sounds ideal for Ruby with a section where you can keep an eye on her and not too much work to make it secure. Our garden would be pretty dog proof, high boarded fences all round, but I think a small pup could squeeze under the gate, so we'd have to sort that!
That's good you can have less eye drops Frank. When I had to have eye drops as a child I ended up doing my own as it was easier. Mum kept missing my eye!!
Luton Hoo Jane...........Oh yes, what a great, unforgettable experience we had there with Fitz!! :-D Lucky Hannah, she should be impressed shouldn't she!! My word, you got cracking on the HW front today!
The sky box in the bedroom has gone wonky! It's played up for ages, recordings breaking up when there have been storms and now it gets stuck sometimes when recording causing clashes with other recordings.........so it looks like I'll have to ring the insurance folk we have for it. Last time they just put a new box in. The trouble is I shall lose all the recordings so I better watch what I can over the weekend and ring them Monday.
I noticed a few tiny black flies had come in through the window yesterday Mandy. I see it's Jake's turn for a sleepover now! I bet he would enjoy being taken out somewhere..........especially without all those sisters in tow! Is there a bowling alley near you if he likes that sort of thing?
Liz, it's good if you can exchange favours with neighbours. Cas really loves her Ted doesn't she.
Your craft surprise is keeping you busy Mel! Is it something to do with Easter? ;-)
The turntable still hasn't been collected. :-S

Just having my first cuppa, I changed my bed this morning and the bed sheets etc went straight into the tumble dryer after coming out of the washing machine. When Richard get's up he can do the same with his.

Sorry Anne I am keeping my sun today as I think I have earned it with the stinking week we have had.
The tray on the garden table I put plants in in the summer has water in it as the pigeons like to bathe in that. Its frozen this morning.

Morning People, Evening Kim,
I am typing this without my glass;s, as it's getting harder to see through them. It's a habit with glass's having worn them for over 40 years.
Harvey took Ros and I to Luton Hoo for a Sunday tea a few years ago. Very nice and every table was taken. Mind you in was a nice sunny day.
Dos did a PASTA dish last night with mushrooms, onions, bacon and another meat. She used Creme Fresh and Cream. It was smashing, but boy did it upset my tummy. I keep getting the urge to go to the toilet, but I am just purging myself.
Oh what fun and Games I am having with Tesco Clubcard and the RAC. I renewed our membership a couple of weeks ago using Tesco vouchers. Yesterday I received a letter from the RAC saying "they were sorry to see us go" I was straight on the phone. The chap I spoke to was a much use as a Chocolate Teapot. So I emailed Tesco. They are looking into it. WHERE are all my vouchers ?? and at the moment we have no breakdown cover. Something needs to be sorted now or else Frankie Boy will be getting on his high horse. and they won't like that. Surely they can see where my vouchers have been used.
Madam has gone off in a HUFF this morning. When I got up (I laid till 9.15) she was watching QVC. She told me she had bought a load of plants. They were showing little beech type sheds. "Oh wouldn't one of those fit in at the bottom of the garden" I reply was you have TWO SHEDS and a GARAGE, What on earth do you want something like ?? Not the right reply !!!!
We had a lot of heavy rain around 7.00 pm last night. This morning it's fine. a lot of blue sky and very little breeze. Lets hope it lasts. ;-) ;-)
Nice to see all you girls getting on with the HW and washing and ironing. What's that old saying about the DEVIL and IDLE HANDS ;-) ;-) ;-)
Going to try my shower again this morning, I hope it doesn't tire me out like the other morning.

Beautiful morning now, sunshine and NO WIND. I will be able to walk to the pub for the match at 12.30. I might even walk home as well.
See you later.
