Afternoon all,

Not a bad day here ,we have a little sun shine after a foggy start ,Jake has gone home he was good as gold ,we took Max for a long walk in the afternoon so that passed quite a bit of the afternoon ,but boy did we get muddy ,we went down a track that i thought didn't look to bad but just round the bend it was so muddy we had to keep to the bank to get through , i think it tired us all out as we all slept well .

We're now having a rest this afternoon ,Max had his morning walk but not the muddy way !!

I get son to order any thing we need from Amazon as he's always using it and he uses Prime , i suppose i could do it but he's always done it for us .

You did have a strange dream Mel ,i had one the other night where i had to have a finger nail taken off with out any painkiller :-0

Mandy that dream sounds awful.

We get this strange light out the back sometimes and we don't know what it is. It always appears in the same place so it comes out behind the big oak tree in the big houses grounds but further away than their ground. It looks like one of those paper balloons you light and let go but it dos'nt move up mush just a bit from side to side and then it disappears only to come back again a little while later does its going light and darker and moves a bit then it goes. We have seen it about three or four times now always in the same area of sky.

I did wonder if my dream had anything to do with that as it had the torch beam in it.

Thanks for forwarding the pic Jane, but unfortunately it didn't come through. Did you get my email about Quiet Life? Just wondered, as it might not have gone through properly!
Our lunch was delicious, the beef nice and rare, with roast potatoes yorkshire pudding and leeks in white sauce. For a pudding I've made a treacle sponge which we are having this evening!
Call the Midwife and Apple tree Yard tonight, so some good telly!!

Afternoon Everyone

Liz,which email did you get was it Shadow or Toby?. I should have sent you 2.But have a feeling I sent the one of Shadow to my BIL by mistake and maybe missed you out .
Thank you for the email about 'Quiet Life'. I will have a look next time I am in Boots. I actually slept quite well last night and didn't take the Nytol.

Anne, what lovely puss cats . Are they brothers?.. Richard takes some smashing pics doesn't he :-D..I expect he will doing a lot of that when Ruby comes home :-D :-D

Mel what a strange dream, and Mandy yours sounded like torture !!!!!!!!

We had really thick fog this morning which cleared quickly but the sun didn't come out until this afternoon, and then not for too long.

This place smells of curry which is cooking at the moment.I always use a jar of sauce. I have tried from scratch before and it never tasted right. So it is always jars now. I was just going to get a mild Korma but then thought just because it is only me who likes the really mild it seemed a bit mean on the men.So I have a medium hot one. The smell is already making my face sweat and funny throat :-S.
I better go and check on it and then cool off outside :-D

magpie Report 5 Feb 2017 17:28

It was just the Toby one Jane, glad the email came through! I use the mild Korma quite a lot it is really nice and just right for both of us! Another time you could use it and separate out some of the sauce for you, and spice up the rest for other people then everyone's happy!! Just an idea!!
OH is having a snooze!! and I'm about to finish my kindle book and look for another!!

Liz I think I have forwarded the pics to you of Shadow and Toby.

Jane Report 5 Feb 2017 17:43

Curry doing fine,my glassses were steaming up with the heat from my face LOL

Yes Apple Tree Yard and Midwives tonight Liz.Good TV :-D..Chris always manages to cry if he watches the Midwives !!!!.It is so strange.I don't know why.

Do you have your Roast Beef so it still runs with blood? I have to have mine well done although I can just cope with it a tiny bit pink (if in a restaurant).I am the same with Lamb.I remember once when we were out for a meal with a group of Chris's work colleagues and the 2 men on either side of me had such rare steaks it actually made me feel a bit queasy. I always have a problem in France as most meat is served quite rare and I have to ask for it to be cooked a bit more.

James is home and having a bath .I think he will be having his meal first .Chris is busy painting in the Summerhouse and won't be in until he has finished whatever it is he is doing. I need to check with him when he comes in that he has turned the oil radiator off as he left it on all night the other day. It was apparently like a Sauna LOL

Thanks for passing on Anne's photo's Jane ,i got the one of Shadow but the one of Toby had no photo with it ,Shadow looks a sweet little thing , i wonder what Ruby will think of the cats .

Is anyone going to watch The Good Karma Hospital tonight ? On the same time as Apple Tree Yard ,i didn't watch that last week i thought the first one was a bit slow .

Anne

Anne Report 5 Feb 2017 18:03

Thank you Jane for forwarding on Richard's photos of our 2 cats they are 7 years old now and brother & sister if you look closely at Shadow you will see she's blind in one eye. One of Richard's hobbies is photography he has an expensive camera and has taken several wedding album photos for close friends to save them an expense as. he doesn't charge. The ones of the cats were taken in the conservatory as the light is good in there.

The beef went down well I always cook it well done, I don't eat it myself. I have a special fork from Aldi which has settings for all the main meats and a choice of settings from rare through to well done as well, so no guess work involved.

Shadow is engrossed in the TV watching Meer cats on Spy in the Wild.

I am also going to watch The Good Karma Hospital tonight Mandy, I can watch Apple Tree Yard on catch up during the day.

Jane Report 5 Feb 2017 18:22

Thanks for sending the pics on to Liz again Mel

I think it is always the email that comes through 'with an envelope' that is maybe not compatable with everyones computers.Shadow's pic came through much easier to open. I hadn't noticed Shadow was blind in one eye Anne. I will take another look.

I want to see the new Good Karma Hospital. But will either record that or just see it on Catch Up.

I have 2 men asking when dinner is ... Better dish up :-D

Yes Jane we both like beef very rare, blue in fact or just frightened as my stepfather used to say!! We always had it that way years ago when I lived with my parents and I don't like it even medium rare! Luckily OH feels the same! Lamb? Were not too bothered, rare or well done is ok!
Thanks for the photos Mel, a lovely puss!!

Thanks Anne for letting me know about the sleeping pills and where to get them from.

Thanks for passing on the pictures Jane, the one of Toby didn't come through, any chance you could send it again please? Sandra and I loved the one of Shadow, although we both thought she would of been a black cat, maybe it was the name :-S Very cute picture though <3 I didn't realise she was blind in one eye either, until I had another look at her.

Thanks Jane for trying to pass on the pic of Toby again, unfortunately it didn't work. If anyone else has it could you pass it onto me please.....thanks.

Aren't cats funny Anne, I can imagine Shadow being totally engrossed watching the mere cats. I remember our youngest cat Pixie was asleep and we were watching a programme on wolves and when they howled she woke up terrified bless her. We turned the TV down and I cuddled her to calm her down. After that she sat up and watched them.....like I said cats are funny little things aren't they?
That's good Richard taking the photo's, wedding photo's can be very expensive. Nice of him to do it for free too <3 The photo of Shadow was a lovely one.

I did smile at the way your stepfather said just frightened Liz. I don't mind either way how our meat it done, so long as it's not done to much. Sandra and I had lamb today and it just fell off the bone......delish..

Well, I've finished the second book on Bob the cat, it was such a lovely story and I ended up in tears at the end, so much so I could hardly see the last page. Sandra has decided to stop reading the book she was on and start on the Bob book now, I will read the next Bob book tomorrow so she can read that one too. We have the final book on order, so just waiting for the library to contact us to let us know when it's there for collection. It's opened my eyes as to how much the homeless have to go through, it's so heart breaking for them sometimes. You just don't realise.

Iv'e forwarded you Toby Gill.

Going to get our cheese and biccies ready now.

Gillx Report 5 Feb 2017 21:15

Thanks Mel but it still didn't come through. Thanks for trying though.

Just going to watch the Jump before bed, we like that programme. Sandra loves it because of all the SNOW ;-) :-D :-D

The next book of Bob the cat is a re-make of the first one, so there's no rush for Sandra to read her books now as she's read the first Bob book. We'll just wait for the one on order then we'll have read them all. I did notice in the re-make book they had some lovely photo's of Bob and his owner James, which was nice to see.

Morning all

Quite nippy today, we had some ground frost this morning which thankfully has cleared now. We're suppose to be getting some rain later.

I'm colouring my hair today, so that'll take up a few hours, once I've conditioned and dried it.

What is everyone else up to today?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2017 10:13

Morning all,

Guess what its dull with grey skies this morning, how is it with you?

We have a new telly dish on the way and it should arrive tomorrow. Cble and connectors so we shoudl be able to get a picture on both tellies now.

Oh's froze again last night and when I went to bed there was a still picture but no sound because he had been watching Amazon.

Morning All

Very frosty this morning, and lovely bright sky.I might get some washing out and see if will dry.
Lots to be getting on with this morning so I will be back later today :-D

Gillx

Gillx Report 6 Feb 2017 11:20

Yes, we posted at the same time Mel ;-) ;-) So a new telly dish arriving tomorrow then. by the sounds of it you'll be glad to get it. You can't be doing with the picture freezing.

Hope your washing dries Jane. I'm cheating and putting mine in the dryer.

My hair colouring is on now so I'll be running a bath shortly to rinse it off, then I'll have to leave the conditioner on for about an hour otherwise it will tangle when I try to brush it. I might curl it today for a change. I'll still have to use my straighteners first to de-frizz it, or I'll look like a lion LOL :-D :-D It's getting very long now, which is why it takes me most of the day to colour it. I'm sitting here listening to a Boney M CD.

Sandra has started the Bob book I read yesterday, the other book she was reading she can re-new as we don't think anyone will have reserved that one so there's no rush to read it. She said it will take her a while to read the Bob book as it's quite a thick book. It is a good story so I'm sure she'll enjoy it.
