Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2017 23:36

Hope you all sleep better tonight. What with Frank and myself, Ann, Gill and Jane we are a strange bunch. Do you think we may all be connected???????

I have heard it said that when you get older you don't need so much sleep. I wonder if thats true?

Well I watched the last of Apple Tree Yard but not sure about the very end???

Morning all,

Bright sunny day here in Devon and the dish has arrived and oh has it all sorted ready to put together.

Shopping day for me and I shall be going to Bideford.

Afternoon FRIENDS,

I couldn't open Genes this afternoon, I had to start from scratch going into Google and proceeding from there.

Wonderful sunny day here, and I think it's quite warm. I don't feel 100% today, so I don't think I will venture out on my own. I am feeling very tired and OLD. I don't have any energy or get up and go. Ros keeps nagging that I should go to the doctors. All he/she will do is take bloods and water sample, and say everything is fine !!!

Car insurance all paid for for another year. Tesco is still sorting out my RAC membership. I will send their feedback with a glowing report for the way Elaine has looked after me. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mel, My dad always said an hour before midnight is worth two after. referring to time in bed. I think there is a lot in that, even though I still sometimes sleep till 9.00 am if I have had to get out in the night.

Chicken Casserole with carrots, onions, mushroom's, tin tomato's, with a sauce mix, Mash and Veg. So all prepared. Just have to put the oven on later and forget it till we are ready to eat.

I see the next door but one neighbours are having a WOOD BURNER fitted. There is a lot of banging and drilling going on. I hope it won't disturb my forty winks later.

Enjoy your trip to BIDEFORD MEL. Have you got your list ???

Jan rang from Spain this morning. She was speaking to a neighbour regarding the floods and the mess it had caused to Conrad's apartment. She said she had a key to one of the other neighbours homes, and wondered if she should look in to see how it was. Jan went with her. The whole floor is covered in dry mud. The walls and ceilings covered in thick mould. The silly woman said. I have a number for them in the U.K. DO YOU THINK I SHOULD INFORM THEM !!! What a question. Can you imagine them turning up in the summer to find it like this. They won't know where to start. At least if they know, they might be able to come over and get it sorted.

Time for a sarnie and coffee. See you later.

Afternoon all

Lovely and sunny here today and warm with it, but looking at the weather forecast it's not going to be like this at the end of the week, they are forecasting a sharp frost.

The library have phoned, the last Bob book is there ready for collection, so that'll be picked up Thursday or Friday. Sandra is still reading the one she's already got so there's no rush.

So your get up and go and has got up and gone today Frank. Let's hope you manage your 40 winks later and you start feeling better. If the sleep doesn't work then maybe you should see your doctor, just to be on the safe side.

What a daft question, of course the woman should tell the owners of the apartment. The mould will only get worse, then it's up to them what they do next. Like you said they'll probably want to get out there ASAP to sort it out.

It sounds like Genes has been playing up today for you and Mel, I didn't have any problems so it must okay now. It's annoying when it happens though, hope it stays working for the rest of the day.

Good Afternoon All

Lovely sunny day here too, I haven't done much today just a few of the usual jobs.

Your dinner sounds appetising Frank the sort of recipe I love, we have chicken & ham pie with new potatoes, tender stem broccoli and green beans this evening. It was good that you got to chat to your sister and hopefully she can take up your invite to one of your lovely roast dinners,

Mel hope your new dish is up and working [got the name right this time, sorry about that] you had good weather for your shopping trip to Bideford, did you get everything you wanted?

I hope Sandra enjoys the 2nd Bob book it's good that she is into reading Gill.
I haven't had ay trouble with Genes today either.

I thought I would pass on this tip about getting to sleep, I think about one of my favourite walks, in my case its either the Peak District or a beach walk in Bulmer, Northumbria.
I think of a walk and imagine myself walking along it visualising it as I go along. The other thing I do is decorating and furnishing a little cottage including planting in the garden.

Afternoon all again,

Good NEWS. Between Elaine at Tesco and me, we are now members the RAC again. Believe me this girl has been so helpful, beyond what you would expect from any customer services. I will try to leave feedback on this most lovely person.

Ros is at the Drs with water problems again. I think she needs a NEW WASHER FITTING. LOL LOL

Have just got to put the spuds on and the veg. before Ros gets back, dinner for about 6.00ish.

Afternoon All
I am having a rotten day with my hip and back .Hobbling around like an old crock. I don't know if it because I had another bad night.Ridiculous dreams, and waking every hour :-S :-S..What is it with us all and these sleep problems at the moment???

Anne,I think of things like you toy try and get back to sleep.I tend to imagine myself down at the beach where I lived when young.Just hearing the sound of the sea, and walking along the beach does help.It is quite soothing. But then my mind will suddenly switch from that to all sorts of rubbish .It would be great to have a switch on the side of my head to turn it all off :-D

Your poor Niece Anne !!.She is having a really awful time at the moment isn't she!!!.Hopefully the 3 things will be the last problems for her(they say things come in 3).The DVT will have been a big worry.Hopefully the blood thinning med will soon sort that one out.

Frank, don't leave things if you continue to feel under par.You know it will be best to go and see the GP.Don't be stubborn :-D. I know Ros will make sure you go if she thinks you need to :-D :-D
Fancy that person not getting on the phone to let the owners know of the Mould and muck in the apartment .!!!. I am sure if things were the other way around they would want to know what a bad state things were in.

Yikes Mandy .A murder and a possible second !.have you heard any more on that news? That is pretty shocking. :-0 :-0

Gill ,I bet Sandra will be whizzing through the book she is reading now ready to start the next one :-D :-D.

Is the dish up Mel? Hopefully it is and you will be able to watch TV without any more trouble.

Thanks everyone for your Congrats for Hannah :-DShe has worked her socks off for years and stil has just under 3 years to go to get to her goal as a Clinical Psychologist .
Ann,do you remember that day when you came here and Hannah was just going off to Coventry for an interview?.That seems donkeys years ago now.

Anne.I have forwarded your pic again to Mandy and Gill.

MillymollyAmanda Report 7 Feb 2017 18:29

Evening all,

I haven't had any trouble getting on here today so what ever the problem was has been sorted i expect .
It's been a dreary day here lots of that heavy drizzle that clings to you and really chilly too.

Thanks Jane for sending the photo of Toby it came through fine this time ,he is a lovely looking cat Anne .

Oh my goodness Frank i should think that's why the people left the key with that woman so she could keep an eye on the place ,what a mess it sounds and it must stink too ,it's going to take some clearing up .
Glad you got the RAC sorted out for the car with Elaine's help ,Ros will be ok to drive out now knowing you are covered again .
I think we will be looking round for our car insurance it's due on the 16th feb ,we had a letter to say it would be Three hundred and something this year !! i know it includes breakdown cover but that's a lot more than last year .
Poor Ros with her water problem again i hope the doctor can give her some thing to help.

I bought a nice black skirt for £1-25 from the charity shop to make the girls Victorian costume ,there loads of material as it's a really flaired skirt so it should make two skirts for the girls and they can wear dark tops with it , i also got a white sheet to make the pinafores and mop caps .

They have arrested a 46 year old man for the murder and they think the poor chap who died had been laying in the bungalow for a few days .
They are still saying they don't know how the other chap died .

Frank Report 7 Feb 2017 18:58

Dinner all over, Ros is washing up. Two empty plates, so worth the effort.

Ros has a prolapsed bladder. so is being referred to the hospital. Her sample is also going to the hospital, results should be back by Friday. They have put her on Anti- bioctics in the meantime.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2017 19:06

Yes the dish is up but we still have a problem with the bedroom telly. No signal at all. Oh thinks the cable may have broken up somewhere along the line. Kitchen telly is fine now and thats my main one.

Morrisons had loads of veg in there today. I still forgot to look and see how much I paid for my iceberg lettuce. Iv'e thrown the bill away too. I never do that as my bag is stuffed with them.

Sorry to hear your not feeling up to scratch Frank. Lets hope we get some better weather and it makes you feel better. You should still see the doc again though just to be on the safe side as the others have said. You know we all worry about you. <3

Anne

Anne Report 7 Feb 2017 19:07

Jane sorry to hear you have been in pain with your hip again, Thank you for sending Toby's photo again for me.

Mandy you did get a bargain with the black skirt you are clever to see the potential for the girls Victorian costumes, please may we see a photo of them wearing them when they are finished.

Poor Ros with a prolapsed bladder problems hopefully the antibiotics will help until she is seen at the hospital ..
Your turn next for the doctors if you are still feeling under par Frank

Mel pleased to hear your dish is up and you can watch your programmes again but a pity about the bedroom connection

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2017 19:11

O poor Ros. I hope they can sort it out quickly for her. <3

Mandy what do they mean by saying they don't know why the other man died? Do they think it was natural causes or can't they make up their minds if he was murdered or what?

Jane

Jane Report 7 Feb 2017 20:28

Frank,a big relief for you now getting your RAC Membership sorted at long last :-D
It makes a change to get great service from Customer Services these days.Poor Ros,she does seem to get a recurring water works trouble :-(..It can you make you feel so poorly and miserable. Maybe more antibiotics for her :-S

Mandy ,I wonder if the man in the bungalow might have been an elderly man .It is sad to think of someone lying dead for so long without anyone knowing :-(

You are good to be making the outfits for the girls. I always dreaded the times that an outfit was needed for a school play or whatever.I was never able to actually make anything myself, being hopeless with any kind of needlework .Luckily I had a neighbour who loved making the outfits for Hannah and James. She did a grand job.I don't know what I would have done without her.She was a bit like a surrogate Grandma to my two :-D
Sometimes I had to go to the fancy dress shop to hire things, especially when it was a themed birthday party.
Still waiting for James to get in from work !!! It will be another hour. His dinner will be keeping hot and I will be in bed !

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 7 Feb 2017 20:38

They are saying the latest man found in the bungalow was murdered Mel but the chap they found on saturday in the flat they are still not sure how he died the postmortem they did came back as inconclusive .

Yes Anne I'll get a photo of them dressed up ,i'm looking forward to seeing Katie dressed up as the queen :-D i found her a hat but she keeps saying i want to wear a crown ,we had a hunt round the shops for a dressing up tiara but couldn't find one .

Frank i hope the antibiotics help Ros until she gets the hospital appointment.

Gillx

Gillx Report 7 Feb 2017 21:44

Thanks for sending the picture of Toby again Jane, it came through this time :-) Sandra said he looks like Bob, the cat she is reading about at the moment. I must admit there is a likeness.

What a good idea to use the skirt and sheet to make the costumes Mandy, I'd like to see a picture too please. Pity you can't find a tiara. Do you have a shop called Claire's? you might find something in there. How awful about the man in the flat, did he not have any family. I wonder if they'll ever find out how he died.

Sorry to hear about Ros Frank, at least she has the antibiotics so that should make her feel a bit better before she goes to the hospital. How are you feeling now, any better? Did you manage to get your 40 winks? Good news about the RAC, it sounds like Elaine was really helpful.

Anne, if you don't mind me asking, when is your birthday? I was going through all the birthday's today and noticed I didn't have yours and would like to send you a birthday card if that's okay with you? I've written out Mandy's and Mel's today and will post them on Thursday as our post can be a bit slow and I wouldn't want them to be late. Sorry I missed your birthday Liz, I always seem to miss one, I think it was Mel last year. I've written them out in date order now, so hopefully I won't miss anyone out again.

So your dish is up and running now Mel, pity about the TV in your bedroom, will your OH be able to sort out the cable for you? At least the main one in the kitchen is working okay for you now.

We're just watching the secret life of dogs, it's very interesting.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2017 22:21

Just wrote a load and none came out.

I have just watche dthat Gill. Good was'nt it? Loved the diving dog and the flier. That collies blue eyes were beautiful.

Oh bought new cable for the bedroom one as he had read all the write ups and most were good except one. When he got the cable he now knows why as there is hardly any copper wire in it and thats why it was cheap. He said he should have taken notice of the one complaint and gone for a dearer one as its the copper size that makes it cheap. So..... now he has to order more cable at three times the price.

Gillx

Gillx Report 7 Feb 2017 23:18

Yes the programme was really good, I loved the dog that jumped off the cliff into the ocean with his owner, it just goes to show how the little dog trusted him.

Sorry to hear about the problem with the cable, hopefully the more expensive one will work for you.

Off to bed now I've felt really tired all day so hopefully I'll sleep tonight. I'll try what Anne said to do and think of something nice, hopefully I'll drop off to sleep then :-)

Frank

Frank Report 8 Feb 2017 01:38
