Well the SNOW is falling here. I think it's to wet to settle., but we will see,
All showered and dressed . Have been looking at a new Thread about Woodford Bridge. I have forwarded on some of it to Mel, I hope you don't mind. xx <3 <3
Gill you had better get in your car and head South if you want the snow. Sandra would be very excited to see it falling so fast. Hope you get some for her to enjoy xx
You mentioned Lyons Corner House. That's where my EX MIL and FIL met and fell in love. He was a City Gent. and she a waitress.
Hair dryer going full blast at the moment, so no peace nd quiet for me.
Looking out of the back window I can see the Steam coming from the pipes of the Central Heating on the houses/bungalows at the bottom of the garden. So everyone has the same idea nd you MANDY. Stay in the warm. lol lol.
Just noticed it's nearly 1.30 pm. Time for a sarnie and a cup of soup.

The snow, if you can call it that Frank, only lasted a few minutes. It's sunny here now.
I'm starting to think about our garden and what I'd like to do this year. With spending all last year doing the hard landscaping, this year will be all the pretty bits. I might make a few new borders and fill them with some nice plants. I'll have to look online see which ones we all like.
I do need to help OH take down the big apple tree and also cut down a few things in the front garden as it's starting to get out of control now, so plenty to keep us busy once the nice weather gets here.
The F1 is on again next month, so that's something to look forward to. I just need to find out the date it starts.
Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather Mandy, hope you feel better in time for your birthday. How are you getting on with your sewing, did you feel up to doing any today?

Good afternoon all
Well we have snow in quite big flakes but as it's far too wet to lay no snowmen to build. It's very cold and I have the heating turned right up.
When I was in my early teens Mum and I use to go in Lyons Corner House when we went to London clothes shopping. I seem to remember the waitresses used to wear little white triangular shaped caps
Gill so you are being a lumberjack's helper today, I have sent you a small message.
Battered Cod, chips & peas tonight

Frank thanks for that. Of course I don't remember anything before 1949 as I was'nt born until that year.
I do remember Guntor's byke shop though and used to go in there for things for my byke and my sons. It was so nice to here her write about Frank Martin's fish shop and I remember going in the back to see the live eels in those big silver trays she spoke about.
I member Charlie Brown's Roundabout and the pub oppisit, The Roundabout with its lovely old pub sign. The Crooked Billet and White Hart and we used to serve a lady whose hubby was a butcher in Woodford Bridge and I think her first name was Marie but I can't for the life of me remember her last name. She was an elderly slim women who had the most wonderful legs of a 25 year old. If you saw her from the back you would never had known she was the age she was.
My cousin Malcolm, Doren and Bill's son, has a garage in Essex but not anywhere near Woodford Bridge. Doreen and Bill Martin moved to Matching Green and we used to go and visit sometimes. Doreen always sent me a Christmas Card until she died a few years ago. I was her favorite niece.
As you know I don't go on Facebook so I would'nt have seen it without your help. Thanks. <3

Afternoon All It has snowed all day here. Some really big flakes and heavy at times but not settling. I felt really guilty having to wake Thomas from his cosy bed and put him i nthe cat carrier ,then out in the snow to the cattery. He was good in the car and only meowed twice on the journey. The cat in the next pen to him is a lovely Tortoiseshell called Lottie. She only went there today too so they will both be feeling a little strange. They can see eachother through the perspex screen which is quite nice. There was no hissing at each other :-D I got home and was just going to start getting my things ready for tomorrow ,but Fitz turned up so I am all behind now and he has just gone. He is kindly taking us to the station in the morning and picking us up again on Sunday :-D.As he said I have done lots of trips for him lately so he can do the same for us.It is so nice that we can do that for each other.
Frank, the ET newspaper only comes out once a week now on a Thursday.I will make sure I get next weeks to see if there is anything about what might have been found in the field down near Fitz.
Mandy ,I do hope you will be feeling a bit better for your Birthday tomorrow. I will wish you a Happy Birthday now ,just in case I don't get on here in the morning HAPPY BIRTHDAY <3 <3.Hope you have some lovely presents and are waited on hand and foot :-D :-D I'm just doing Meatballs and Spaghetti again tonight .So a nice quick and easy meal. I must iron a top and trousers for London. They are just airing off now on the radiator. I don't need to take much .Just clean undies and socks ,another top and my toiletries. Must remember my Kindle to read on the train, that will need charging up.
This horrible cyst on my finger feels like it is going to explode ! :-S :-S..It seems to be coming to a head and is so painful to touch now. I will keep it covered with a plaster just in case it pops :-S
Must get on .Hopefully will be back later.

Evening All,
I hope you feel a bit better for your birthday Mandy and I'll say <3'Happy birthday <3 ' for tomorrow now as I think we will be out early tomorrow. Yes, the pesky pigeons have been hanging around a lot lately!!
That's handy Fitz dropping you at the station Jane.......it's good to swap favours!! :-) I hope you enjoy your weekend and that the cyst isn't too bothersome. A few extra plasters in your bag might be handy if needed but expect you will have already done that.
No more snow here but OH said there will probably be more tomorrow.
It's been a cold day for being out in the garden Gill..........sooner you than me!

Morning Jane morning all
<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3
Hope you are feeling better and have a lovely day today :-)
Hope you have a lovely time too Jane. What are you seeing at the theatre? Let's hope the snow goes before you leave. Wrap up warm, it sounds like it's very cold by you. Sorry to hear your finger is still sore, hope it feels better soon and doesn't spoil your time away. Thomas looks as if he might have a friend in Lottie, she sounds a lovely cat.
You had quite a bit of snow Ann, Sandra was quite excited when I showed her the picture. The one of the moon was good, like Mel's it showed up a lot of detail. You both must have really good camera's.
I've heard of setting lotion Mel, wasn't it something to do with when you had rollers in at the hairdressers. It was a long time ago I heard of it so I might be wrong :-S We didn't get anymore snow yesterday after a few flurries for about 20 mins in the morning, but it was quite cold even though the sun was out.
I think I gave the impression I was in the garden yesterday, I meant I was looking online for ideas for the garden when it warms up a bit, it was far to cold to do anything yesterday. We do need to cut a few things down in the front garden as it's becoming quite a jungle out there and of course cut the big apple tree down in the back garden, but I can't see OH wanting to do that until it's a bit warmer. I will of course help him when we do get round to it.
I watched Monty Don again last night helping people with their gardens. He's very good at tweaking their plans and even gets stuck in himself to help them a bit. I tried to see when Gardener World starts again online but there isn't a start date yet. If anyone hears when it's back on can you let me know please <3
Hope everyone had a decent nights sleep last night, I finally got one and feel a bit better today after feeling unwell for the last few days. My throat is still a bit sore but so far the ear ache has stopped and I think my temperature is back to normal now.
Going to get a cuppa, see you all later.

Oh woke me at 9am to say look out the window and it was snowing quite big flakes. It did'nt last long though. There's a tiny bit of rain in the air now.
Slept like a log last night and hope everyone else did too.
Now I am going to read the posts as I hav'nt had a chance to do it yet.

Afternoon All,
Another <3 <3HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 ;-). Hope you are relaxing and enjoying yourself! :-)
Yes I wondered what Jane was going to see at the theatre too. I would hate to live in London and so would OH, but we would both love having so many theatres close by!! :-)
Mel, your moon was good. I find I need a very steady hand for pics of the moon and hold my elbows tight against my front! I can never be bothered to get my tripod out as the subject would be gone or a cloud appeared and there isn't always somewhere to rest the little bendy one. It's been a bit disappointing the weather hasn't been very good for photography a lot of the time since Christmas, too dull and misty. :-S Roll on spring and more sunshine! How is your craft thing coming one?
OH has sorted himself 2 matches to go to and a fall back one on an artificial pitch in case it is too wet to play at the others!! He looked like Max Wall earlier in his black tights and top before he put his other layers on.!! lol.
I have an errand to do, then I need to continue with going through wardrobes and drawers in the bedroom!! :-S I hope to have a few bags to donate to the Dogs' Home on Monday. :-)
I remember the Amami wave set.

I was watching Back In Time on the telly and looked at their hairstyles and just thought of setting Lotion. Mum used to have it in her hairdressing stuff as she did that from home when I was young.
Glad you're enjoying your day.
Had a bit of very sad news this morning when I delivered the eggs to Emma next door. Her gran died this morning at 8.10am. Margaret and George were our neighbours for years living where Em lives now. They were like a second mum and dad to me.

Well at last I am here. Good afternoon all.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY" Hope you have enjoyed it so far, and that you ae feeling a bit better.
Mel, that's not good news is it about your neighbours Nan, What age would she had been ?? Glad you enjoyed the chat about Woodford Bridge, if you don't want to keep up to date with it on FB. I can always forward anything I might think you would be interested in !!
I read it right about your gardening Gill. I agree it's too cold to be out there. I didn't even go to the pub for the match today. Just lazed around in the comfort of home.
Ros cut up a stale french stick and put it on the front lawn for the birds. They came down like a flock, Staling's, Jackdaws, Rooks, blackbirds and even the little birds, so they must be cold and hungry. She bought back loads of fat balls, meal worms and stuffed Coconut shells. I will put those around the garden tomorrow.
Reading in the "MAIL" this afternoon they say we could have 4 inches snow over the weekend. I hope they have got that WRONG. !!!! They also have a sleep diary that you can fill out every day to help with insomnia . I would be awake half the night, thinking about the answers. So they can keep that.
Dodgy night sleep again last night. Was up three times to the loo, and just couldn't get off straight away afterwards.
Rang my sister this morning. No improvement. She is feeling cold down her left side. Her Son is going in every couple of hours, to stoke up the fire, and get her hot drinks. I didn't realise he is 58 years old. Good job he only lives round the corner.
Not sure what we will eat tonight. Indian Delivery or Chinese We would have to collect. I know which I would prefer. !!!!
