I remember I was glued to Roots the first time around. Re next month, I can't make the 10th or 22nd or Fridays (beading) but any other dates would be fine Jane. It will be nice to have a proper catch up won't it!
Mandy I meant to say I looked up that cross stitch and thought it was fabulous! You are very good at it I must say and it must take a lot of patience.
I'll be watching Noel Fitzpatrick tonight! :-) I enjoyed WDYTYA this week with Warwick Davies.
Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight Frank. I see they suggest in the paper to count backwards from 1000 in 7s to get to sleep! Good luck with that! lol It will be nice for you to see Lewis.......has he stopped growing yet?

If Lewis is coming I bet he has ordered roast pork from his pappy. You will be so pleased to see him as he has'nt been for a long while.
I cooked boiled pots, onions and sausages. Oh was still asleep so I had a couple of tatoes and three little sausages and while I was eating he came out. He only had three sausages and some tonic water and went back to bed. I think he has hurt his back as he is not moving well and he's very slow.

Morning all
The sun is trying it's best to show and it's nice and warm today. Let's hope it stays that way.
I can see borrowing one of Aldi's trollies might be a problem, that's a bit of a walk isn't it? Maybe you could ask them if they have a cardboard box instead Anne. Going to start reading the book today. One more day until Little Ruby arrives, what time are you picking her up tomorrow? Sandra and I can't wait to hear all about her.
What a pity you lost the shrub Ann, will you be getting another one? We have a few plants that need protecting during the winter months, I'm luckily as all my plants are in pots so I can just pop the less hardy ones into the greenhouse until the weather is nice again. Maybe you could to the same if you ever buy another one.
That's a nice present Hannah has done for her dad Jane, They'll both have a lovely time. Has Thomas settled yet? Yes, I feel a bit silly where my washing machine is concerned, I should of read the booklet earlier, it's good that it won't spin if the balance isn't right as that would damage the machine, although having to take some washing out so it'll spin isn't so good, I think it was just to heavy yesterday with all the bedding in there. At least I know what to do now.
That'll be nice to see Lewis again today Frank. Hope things improve with your sister, that was thoughtful of her son to sort out the bed downstairs, it'll make things a lot easier for his mum.
Sorry to hear about your OH's back Mel, hope it's feeling a little better today.

Sandra's woken up feeling ill, she came into the living room and asked if we could sit outside as she was feeling sick, that's really unusual for Sandra so I knew there was something wrong. She's got a temperature but says she feels cold, so I've given her paracetamol, she can't swallow tablets so I had to crush them up for her. She's now laying on the sofa.
I'm going to read the book that Anne sent us to her as I don't think she'd be able to read it herself at the moment and she wants to hear the story. I hope she's not getting the bug I've had for the last few weeks, I'm only just getting over it. I was concerned this morning when I saw her as she's hardly ever ill, but when she does feel under the weather it's pretty bad for her.....hope it doesn't last to long and she feels better soon.

Morning my Lovelies, Evening Kim,
Yet another bad night. In bed by 10.30 pm up at 1,00 am. Bed 3.45 back up at 9.00 am. Fed up to the teeth with it now. I can see I will have to start staying up later. To cap all this off the Blo**y phone rang at 7.00 am. A WRONG NUMBER.
The SUN has just this minute broken through, so it might be a nice day.
It sounds like Sandra has picked something up Gill. Martine has been really bad. She has a dry cough and is coughing day and night. Her tummy has turned black from all the bruising. She's back at the doctors this morning.
I mentioned that Ros is joining the girls at Mother's Club next Tuesday evening Well this morning she had a phone call from VAL Next door, to ask if she could go with her !!! She stopped going to the choir because of having to look after her all the time, now it seems she has landed in it again. POOR OLD DOS !!!
I didn't know you could buy live mealworms Mel Do they breed ?? if not, what's the purpose of having live ones. We feed our birds DRY ones, and we haven't had any complaints YET.
Ros has started coughing so I hope she hasn't picked anything up. I have told her to dose herself up with cough mixture.
I don't know if Lewis will be staying for Dinner tonight. If he decides he will, Ros will have to go and buy some PORK as the ones in the freezer won't thaw in time.
Hope you all have a nice day doing whatever you are doing. See you later.

Good afternoon all
Sorry to hear you have had yet another bad night Frank. I hope you & Ros enjoy Lewis's company today, you must have a lot to catch up on
I have Abbie & Becky staying with me until Sunday afternoon and the main attraction will be Ruby of course. Becky will be coming to Brighton with us tomorrow and wants to cuddle Ruby on the way back.
My brother is also on the move tomorrow but he's flying out to St Petersburg where he will be lecturing on Russian Art and some history, apart from The Heritage there is also a trip to where Rasputin was murdered ,
Gill I hope Sandra is feeling better now and you both enjoy the book. The walk down to Aldi isn't that bad, it takes me about 15mins to walk there and 20mins to walk back as its slightly uphill that way, I am quite a fast walker and there is only the one main road to cross..

Goodness Anne, your brother does have an interesting job (and life!) My late uncle visited St Petersburg many moons ago and said it was absolutely beautiful and tremendously interesting; Now, if we won the lottery that's one place I would love to visit! The murder of Rasputin was quite extraordinary and very brutal! Fantastic to be able to see where it all happened Good luck tomorrow with Ruby, you'll be pleased to have her after all these weeks of waiting! Hope Sandra is feeling better Gill, at least it's not so cold now so keeping warm will be easier. I've done a lot of gardening this morning, a great barrowload of weeds is waiting to be taken to the bonfire,. OH has cut split a load of logs today, all ready to be stacked and dried. Son will help do that job when he next comes over, so it won't be too arduous! Must take Cas for her final run!!

Afternoon all,
A lovely sunny day here but not a lot of dry out for the washing although i was a bit late hanging it out as Colins brother came for coffee ,he does a bit of wood turning and brought a goblet and small bowl he had made ,he has made lots of wooden fruit too, they all look really nice . He also brought me some cooking apples he had stored up for the winter.
Gill i hope poor Sandra is feeling better now ,lets hope its only a 24 hour bug she's picked up, there's nothing worse than feeling sick.
It will be nice to have a catch up with Lewis Frank ,is he still having late nights or should that be early mornings LOL I wonder how Val knew that Ros was going to go to the Mothers club , poor Ros she doesn't want to be landed with Val ,especially after the do last time when she went missing !!!
Not long now Anne before you have your little girl home ,i hope she travels ok . Have you stocked up with her food and little treats ?
So Fish and chips for you today Mel , is OH's back feeling better now ?
Yes Ann the Bisconu's have lots of stitches in them but they are easy to do and look really pretty , a nice little thing to stitch as you can just pick it up do a few stitches and put it down again .
No heating on today its been nice with the sun through the window , i think i heard right that next week we might have temperature 's of 15/16 !! in February !!!

Well the little Bugg%% is here. Grown another few inches. He's not staying for dinner, but wanted TWO of his NAN'S special sandwiches. HAM,CHEESE,ONION,TOMATO and SALAD CREAM. He just consumed those with a COT.
He has decided he is going to the University of Hertfordshire. next year. He has saved over £3,000 towards his costs. We will of course help where we can. He will be able to travel home every day, so will save him having to pay for board.
Shin of beef in the oven on low heat. That will be nice and tender by the time we have dinner tonight. Mash, Cabbage, carrots and boiled Parsnips. Meant to put a rice pudding in the bottom of the oven but FORGOT.!!!!
Still nice and sunny here, they say it will get warmer over the weekend. So winter is being pushed out of the way. WE HOPE. ;-) ;-) ;-)
COT time and a chat with my BOY.

Afternoon All
Hannah is here now so I will just make this a quick post.
So it is a flying visit from Lewis today then Frank. I bet it has been lovely to see him.He has done well with saving all that money towards the Uni Fees.(Good lad). It will certainly save a lot of cash if he will be living at home.It is so hard for some young people when they go off to Uni ,especially if they have no help from family with the cost of things.
Oh dear poor Sandra .Is she feeling any better this afternoon Gill?..I think you can buy liquid Paracetamol if she is unable to swallow pills.(although I am not totally sure about that).I hope that whatever it is she has will not last long and that is just a 24 hr thing. I have heard of a few people around here who have had a Sick bug recently.
So tomorrow is the big day Anne :-D.Becky will be happy that she can go with you to collect Ruby. What time are you getting her? We will all be waiting for the first photos :-D :-D. (no pressure ;-) ) St Petersburg is somewhere I would love to visit. How long will your Brother be there?,and where will be the next place he will be off to ?.
They say it could be 17 degs on Monday !!!!!. I better get the fans out LOL..That is a crazy temp for February. We won't be needing to use any logs on the fire thats for sure. I will try and get back later ,but if not I hope the journey home with Ruby will be a good one Anne and a peaceful one too.She is going to wonder what is happening.
I think i have just spotted a Bat flittind around outside !!!

Evening All,
A bit of weak sun for a short time here, but it's been mostly dull. Frank I bet that was the last straw the phone ringing at that time this morning. I didn't do much better last night, got off to sleep in the early hours then about 4.00am the helicopter woke me. It was circling round for over half an hour so goodness knows what that was all about. OH didn't even hear it!! It's good your sister has you to talk to about her stroke Frank with you having been through the experience. Lewis has done well with his savings and seems to have his priorities right. What is he hoping to study?
I bet the girls will be fussing over Ruby Anne. I hope Becky has something waterproof to go over her knee in case Ruby is travel sick on the journey home!! I see your brother is off working in and visiting exciting places again. It's a place I would like to visit if I was happy flying!!
Might your OH have hurt his back or be stiff after fiddling with the pump in the well Mel? How far down is the water?
I hope Sandra's feeling a bit better. As Mandy said, it is a horrid feeling. I expect reading the book to her would help take her mind off things.
Liz, it's good to keep on top of the weeds. I wish I could kneel down and do ours as OH hates the cold and puts off going out in the garden till it's warmer out there. He does a pretty good job once he starts though. I said to him the other night that it amazes me he goes and stands out at footie matches in all weathers!

Ann I had to laugh when you said oh hates the cold but will stand out for hours to watch footie!! Typical male.... :-D :-D :-D
When I picked up our puppy Alsatian years ago. I went armed with a bin liner a box of mens tissues and a towel folded in four on a peice of polythene for my lap. Poor little Holly was so sick on the way home but each time I saw she was going to throw up I put two tissues in my hand and she was sick in thosse which then went in the bin liner on the floor. Even when she was bigger and we took her to kennels she did'nt travel well and was always sick. Then one year my friend Paddy who I worked with at the PDSA had a kennel and she went to hers. Paddy picked her up for us and had one o f her dogs in the van too. When we got back I asked if she had been sick on the journey an dPaddy said "no". I was surprised and Paddy said it may have been because the other dog was there too. Holly was never car sick from that day on and we used to take her out a lot in the car after that.
So thats a good bit of advise Anne. A nice thick old bath towel for your lap on a plastic carrier incase she wees and a box of hankies and bin liner.
I am so looking forward to seeing some new pictures of her and I bet you're so excited to be picking her up tomorrow. <3
Well I have sone nothing this afternoon except get a MOC and a MOT and a hot cross bun each.
Hope Sandra is feeling better now and the sick feeling soon passes. I bet she has enjoyed the story today. <3

Chester used to be car sick for about a year.I always knew when it was going to happen as he would hang his head and dribble :-( I hope that Ruby will be ok in the car.It will be a long journey. I wonder who the Police Helicopter was after at 4am Ann !. How inconsiderate waking you up LOL.I would have been up and looking out the window. I think Chris would have slept through too like your OH.He never hears anything once he is in the land of nod.Wheras I wake at the slightest sound.I wish I didn't as it is so difficult then to get back to sleep. Dinner is ready soon. Roast Chicken ,Parmentier Potatoes ,Baby Carrots,Asparagus,Leeks, and a bag of othe mixed veg (in the microwave).James is home from work so the 4 of us will be able to all eat together :-D,and maybe have a good old family chat. That doesn't happen too often these days.
Ann I have taken note of the days you can't do in March. We are going out for lunch on Tuesday with Fitz so will let him know then, and then we can sort a day :-D

Colin is in St Petersburg for a week, his next lecture with ACE is in June this time it will be the Netherlands about ,Van Gogh and Mondrian. He does do other lectures
I hope you enjoyed your time with Lewis, he does sound very sensible saving all that money towards University and good that he will be able to live at home that will save so much money.

Just a quickie to let you all know Sandra is feeling a lot better now, the paracetamol worked and kept her temperature down and she had a sleep this afternoon. She managed a bit of soup and is going to have an early night. At least she has some colour back in her cheeks now, she was as white as a ghost this morning.
I'm signing out now so will catch up with all the posts in the morning. Hope you have a safe journey collecting Ruby tomorrow Anne, looking forward to hearing all about her once she's settled.

It's just rained here and quite heavy too. Hope the weather isn't to bad for your journey Anne.......yes, then the fun will start :-D :-D :-D I bet Becky can't wait to hold Ruby on the way home. I started reading the book to Sandra yesterday, it's quite funny which made her laugh, going to finish reading it to her today.
How annoying Frank......A WRONG NUMBER and at 7am after a bad nights sleep, you don't need it do you? Hope you had a better night sleep last night. Hope Martine is feeling better soon, how did she get on at the doctors? Poor Ros, she's always helping someone isn't she? Hope her cough isn't giving her to much trouble. Lewis has done well with his savings, that'll help him when he goes to University. At least he can travel home everyday which, like you said, will save him having to pay for board.
It sounds like you were busy in your garden yesterday Liz. I noticed we have a few weeds growing through the soil we bought last year, so that'll be a job for me when the rain stops.
That was nice of Colin's brother to bring you all those lovely things Mandy. I do admire people who are talented like that. Do you have any pictures, I'd love to see them if you do?
We do have some paracetamol that you dissolve in water Jane, but it doesn't have a very nice taste so, with Sandra feeling sick, I thought the crushed paracetamol would be a better choice. I didn't want her being sick with the liquid one. It did the trick and her temp came down nicely. She felt much better when she went to bed last night, she's still asleep so she must need it. Hopefully she'll be okay when she wakes up. We still don't know what it was though. So bikini weather on Monday then Jane LOL ;-) ;-) If it's that warm here I might sort out the weeds and have a tidy up in the garden......not in my bikini though LOL
How awful to be woken up by the helicopter Ann, did you manage to get back to sleep? Hope you had a better nights sleep last night. Did you find out what the helicopter was all about? We had one hovering over our back garden the other day. Sandra was fascinated. It circled around our bungalow and then came back and hovered in the same place, but then left before Sandra could take a picture of it, she wanted to show her dad when he came in from work, but was a bit to late. She loves her new camcorder/camera and wants to take pictures of everything at the moment.......bless her.
Anne will be almost there now <3 :-D
