Afternoon all,
Well dinner is all prepared. I am doing Leg of Lamb in the big casserole tin with loads of root vegetables around it. When it's cook I will have all those lovely juices and flavours for the gravy. Roast pots, Cauli,Carrots, runner beans, brussels and of course Yorkshire pudding and my famous CHEESE SAUCE. My DIL thinks I should bottle it and sell it in Tesco's. ;-) ;-) ;-) She adores it. !!!
Ros still has this hacking cough, but insisted in going into the garden to do some jobs. The Magnolia Tree I bought for her arrived yesterday. She's had it in water overnight and is planting that this morning. I have also been on line and bought a lot of bedding plants and Hanging Basket plants. They won't be dispatched yet, but when they do arrive she will bring them in the greenhouse.
Glad RUBY has arrived without any mishaps and I trust she was a good girl during the night. xx
So Sandra is firing on all cylinders again Gill. It's not nice when children are under the weather and you can't do much to help.
Cookers all go then Mel, did you enjoy your BIG BREAKFAST. I haven't eaten this morning, just don't feel like anything. Ros had her usual Grapefruit and Weetabix.
Can't say what the weather is doing, as I haven't been out. The walk to and from the pub yesterday put a bit of a strain on my knee. I m down to one drop twice a day for my eye, so next week I will be out looking for READING GLASS'S (MORE EXPENSE )
I must try to find Johnie's page on FB. do I just type it in ???
Oh Mel I would keep that quiet. A LOT OF OLD BIDDY'S in the family :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3

Had our big breakfast and very nice it was too even though I say it myself. :-D
I had a piece fo lamb out for the other day when we brought fish and chips home. We always have steak on a Saturday so I cooked it with our chips and we shall have it cold tomorrow.
Not done anything other than feed the chickens and bantams and play cards on the pc.
May have a little craft this afternoon now.

Good afternoon all
I'm pleased to say that Ruby was very good when we went to bed just a couple of tiny squeaks and all quiet until 5.30 when I brought her down for a pee, she played for a little while and then we both fell asleep with her having a cuddle on my lap until 8o/c.
Pleased that you and Sandra enjoyed the book Gill she has written a lot all about her Siamese cats and a donkey[not sure that was in her first book] all her books are quite short and all amusing but I think the first one is the funniest.
Your dinner sounds delicious Frank I'm not sure we could eat all those vegetables in one meal though, you are certainly getting your 5 a day. That was a compliment from your DIL about your cheese sauce We had roast chicken etc with pigs in blankets, yorkshire puds , broccoli, carrots and parsnips plus roast potaoes.
I keep meaning to do the DNA test thru' Ancestry like Ann & Mel. When I had a blood test a number of years ago the doctor asked if I had any foreign blood in me, when I said my mother had an idea that her father may have had Spanish ancestors, she said I don't mean European , however since doing the family tree there didn't seem to be any truth in that so where she got that idea from I don't know. The doctor did say my blood cells were an unusual shape all I know is I'm B positive.
Ruby is fast asleep at the moment I think playing with the girls has made her tired she is going to miss them tomorrow.

What a good girl !!!!.I bet she was exhausted yesterday after all the travelling, leaving home and finding her new family :-D.Fingers crossed tonight is as good as last night Anne.I think she is going to be the perfect companion for you :-D :-D
Frank. If you just type in Johnny's Happy Place on F B it will come up and you will be able to see everything.(make sure though the the word Johnny is right :-) )
I bought some cheese sauce this morning from Tesco to go with Cauliflower tomorrow. I would buy yours Frank :-D :-D
Hannah and Chris have gone to the Derngate now for the Philharmonic Orchestra concert.Hannah won't be back now until about the 17th March.I did a Sausage,Bacon ,Egg and Toast brunch, and made Hannah a Sandwich to eat on the train back to London after the concert. James is now asking what time dinner is :-S :-S ( he didn't have the Brunch). I have a deboned Chicken ,and pan charlottes, leeks ,mushrooms and carrots..Chris says he just wants the chicken and veg ,me too I think as i had a bacon sarnie for lunch. So I can get it all cooked and James can eat when it is done and the rest can keep hot until Chris gets home about 7.
I had to laugh this morning.I had let Thomas out ,and then a bit later James came downstairs with him!! I asked where on earth he came from and James said he just climbed in through hs open bedroom window(upstairs). He had the big window open as he was CLEANING his room...hang the flags out :-D :-D,and Thomas must have jumped up from the side gate onto the bay roof and up in through the window.I have only ever caught him once before on that roof. Just seen an email from Anne come through.

Nothing much doing here today! Lunch was delicious lamb, roast spuds and leeks in white sauce! Like you Anne we couldn't eat those many veg as neither of us has anything like the appetite we once had, so potatoes and one veg is enough!! Brilliant that Ruby was so good, I shouldn't think you'll have any problems now. We haven't had cauliflower cheese for ages Jane so that's something we may well have this week. What's Lewis planning to study Frank? or have you already told us?

Evening all,
It's been another fairly sunny day and very mild.
Anne how good was Ruby going right through until 5.30 you couldn't ask better than that ,lovely photo's as Jane said she certainly knows how to pose :-D How is she doing on the weeing ? are you managing to catch her or get her out in time? I expect the girls didn't want to leave her , they'll be back next week for another play and cuddle with her i bet.
Not a lot happening here today ,i nearly went out and did some weeding but got side tracked doing some thing else so i will do that in the week as it should be mild for a day or two.
Call the Midwife tonight and then The Good Karma Hospital, i'm still not taking to that very much ,it doesn't hold me like i thought it would .

Sandra sounds back on form again today then Gill :-D,helping her Dad with the tree trunk.Hopefully now she has got rid of whatever bug she had.
I have decided to keep my Minor Op Appointment for my finger as I feel the cyst hasn't completely gone and might be filling up again :-S.Still a week to go though.

Evening All,
Thanks for the pics Anne. How lucky little Ruby settled so well on her first night. Fingers crossed it will be the same tonight, although she might not be quite so tired tonight with no travelling today. I love her little pink collar and want her toys!!! lol. I think the signs are that the two of you are going to suit each other very well. :-)
I love my veg so would love Frank's dinners !! :-) At the carveries we go to I usually have between 7 and 9. OH has the same but adds potato to his plate. At home even with a quick ready meal I will add 2-3 veg. I don't fuss with other 'occasion' meals out so long as most of the time I have my veg! Speaking of which, I'm out for lunch with my beading pals on Friday and we are going to a local college where the students are supervised and prepare meals for the public in their Taste Restaurant! One of the ladies has been before and says it's really good.........£10 for 3 courses so very good value and scores well on Tripadvisor reviews!
Better go and watch CTM now. OH has gone to bed as he needs to set off for a Birmingham meeting at about 7.00am in the morning!! He won't be back till about 6.00pm so it will be a day I can get on with things. :-)

That's a good price Ann £10 for three courses. When I was learning catering we used to have to cook for the public. We even cooked a meal for Prince Charles and had to serve it too.....we were all trained in Silver Service waitressing, I don't think I've ever been so nervous in all my life, I was only 16 years old and fresh out of school.
Yes Sandra's back on form Jane. It was lack of sleep in the end, she has slept for 20 hours over the last couple of days and is full of beans now :-D :-D I don't know why she had a temperature though, so maybe she did have a little bug as well. Clever Thomas getting in through the window, cat's get everywhere don't they. We've had a stray cat do the same thing, he jumped off our new gate we had made last year at the side of the bungalow and climbed up onto our roof, as soon as he saw us he came back down the same way. Hope he doesn't fall down the chimney as it's blocked in so there's no way out.
Sandra and I love the photo's of Ruby Anne. She is quite a poser isn't she, but very cute with it. She did well sleeping through the night, lets hope she does it again tonight. I bet the girls can't wait to go to yours again for a cuddle off Ruby. It sounds like they all had fun.
So compliments on your cheese sauce Frank, can't be bad ;-) ;-)
Did you do anymore of your crafting today Mel. I've been busy on my family tree and have found lots more family on my mum's side, so she'll be pleased when I tell her.
Watching the jump at the moment, the adverts are on and they showed a bit of what was coming up, they were calling for the medics, hope no one is seriously hurt. Sandra was having kittens. Oh, it's back on so I'll go and watch it.

No we didn't want to watch it Mel. I wasn't born either in 1940 and OH was a new born (July 1940) Not our C.O.T! It didn't happen so seems a bit pointless to make a hypothetical serial. We watched a recorded prog. We loved Taboo though last night!! Both in bed now watching the news!

Good morning all
Ruby has had her breakfast and an energetic run around and is now fast asleep in her bed. Another good night it was me that got her up just before 7. She has been trained to use the toilet pads so I have put one by the back door. The only downside she sneaks off to do a poo and if I don't get there quick enough she thinks it's a tasty snack :-0 :-0 :-0. I was looking at her pedigree and found out she is from the Wildax line , who also breed Boxers and Affenpinschers [ a new one on me].
Richard was at Ice Hockey so we recorded SS although it doesn't seem like my kind of thing we also have Taboo to watch. I did watch The Big Painting Challenge, I'm glad I did as they were painting views of .Hastings seafront from 2 perspectives, also watched Country file and Dragons Den both favourites of mine.
I'm pleased that Sandra is back to her usual cheerful self Gill. So young Thomas has found a new way into your house Jane it's amazing how cats have the ability to get into difficult places, Toby has stopped chasing squirrels up the silver birch at the top of the garden thank goodness he was alright going up but not too sure of himself coming down.
Not doing much today, we are having Moussaka , with green beans and sweet stemmed broccoli for tonights meal. . Just going to get some Greek yogurt and fresh blueberries for breakfast before little miss dynamite wakes up again
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Anne morning all
A lovely sunny day here today and warm with it, unfortunately it's very breezy too.
Pleased you had another good night with Ruby. You'll have to be careful if she needs a number 2 now I suppose. Your breakfast sounds nice.
Nothing much planned for today, I was going to go out in the garden but it's to windy, I don't want the weeds to blow everywhere and seed themselves elsewhere. There isn't many so they can wait for another day. OH managed to get rid of the big tree trunk yesterday and only has the little stump left. He's not digging it all up, just cutting it to ground level which will be hidden with soil and ground covering plants, I have plenty to choose from.
Going to grab a cuppa now then take another look at my tree, I've been given access to someone's tree on GR so will take a look at that too.

OH showed me our first flower on one of our camellias which I've just shown Sandra, she loves those flowers and can't wait to see more. At the moment she is taking some pictures of the winter Primula's we put in the greenhouse, they are in full swing now and look lovely. I'm so glad we put them in there or they might not have been so nice with the bad weather we've had lately. Sandra loves flowers, so she's a happy bunny today.
Just put some nuts out for a squirrel I don't think it's Rosie, so we must have another semi tame one now. I threw the nuts a bit further a field than I normally do which seemed to work and she sat there happily eating them.

Very misty here first thing but quite warm! Gill, why don't you use a bucket to put the weeds in on a windy day, then put them in a bag for disposal later on, that way you can get on without the nuisance of them blowing everywhere. I always have to do that as we get so much wind here even in summer! We've got the Bassett Hounds here tomorrow! They come once a year from the New Forest, but have such short legs so the chance of them even frightening a hare is zilch thank goodness!

Morning all,
Its misty here too this moring but very calm, not a breath of wind.
Anne you will have to keep your eye on Ruby if she thinks its a nice tasty snack as that can be a symtom of pancreatic trouble I think or a deficiatsy of something in her diet. I hope she grows out of it.
Nothing doing here today. Its not really cold out there but just miserable.
I did do the last bit of my craft yesterday so now there's not much else to do to put it all together.

Morning Everyone, evening Kim,
Before I forget. Lewis is going to study "HUMAN RESOURCES " I don't know the full ins and outs of it, but I am sure he will explain it, when I ask.
Glad little RUBY had a good night again Anne, I don't like her idea of SNACKS. !!! It might be a good idea to have a word with the breeder or the VET.
Thanks Jane, I will have a look at that site later. Harvey's cats climb in through the window every morning and jump on the bed and wakes him up by Trampling up and down on the bed cloths.
I don't do mountains of veg. Just a few of each. We do enjoy our Veg. and buy lots of it every week. We rarely eat frozen peas. Might put a few in a stew.
Pleasant sort of morning here. First thing the sun was flashing on the crystals in the lounge window. The colours around the room looked so nice and bright. Clouding up a bit now and the breeze is getting up. They say we could get up to 15/16 degrees today, But I doubt it.
Time for my shower and shave. I was thinking of mowing the lawns, but I think it might be a bit early.

Morning All,
What a good little puppy Ruby is! Lets hope it continues. Not so good with her poo though. :-S Hopefully she'll soon give that idea up! I like the 'Miss Dynamite' name for her. Those Affenpinschers were new to me too so I looked them up. They look a bit like a cross between a Cairn and a Scottie!!
I was up with the lark this morning as soon as OH left at 7.00am! I've filled the car up with fuel and done the shopping and the dishwasher's on. Then I bumped into a neighbour and got carried away chatting for a while. Now I'm just having a COT before paying some bills and subscriptions and will then get stuck in to tidying things away in here. I need to make some space as I want to start another painting. I watched the Big Painting Challenge last night too but don't enjoy it as much as the Portrait Artist prog that's on at the moment. Maybe I'm a bit of a philistine but sticking human hair on a painting just doesn't do it for me, yet I like collages.
Well, I'd better get on now while 'you know who' isn't here!! :-D

Our neighbour did his lawns last weekend Frank! We thought it was a bit early, but I expect they grow faster where it is sheltered. We don't have a veg mountain either!! lol. I always have small plates at the carvery and although three quarters of the plate will be veg, it's the variety I like with small helpings of each. :-)
Some music on now to help with the HW!!
