Iv'e managed it now thank you Ann. I only had a job with a couple of names of people but that dos'nt matter.

I will put it on here if any of you would like to read it. I can always delete it when those of you who would like to read have done so.

I am now going to see if the other John Labdon is related as that article is about his funeral and the prople who attended but there are only initials so that shoudl be interesting.

Morning all

Dull day here today and they say there's another storm on the way, but not as bad as the last one. Well, the screening has fell towards our neighbours kitchen window again, which we knew it would, so OH is going to have to go round there again and this time try and secure it properly if he'll let us........watch this space. As it's so early OH will carry on sawing the rest of the apple tree stump until a reasonable time to go next door.

I think I might have my family tree copied over in full today, unless I've missed a family somewhere, I'll check it through after my morning cuppa.

Hope everyone is okay. Pleased to see you have your dishwasher sorted Jane.....roll on Friday ;-) ;-)

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Don't hold your breath regarding the weather. It looks very dull and cold out there. The wind is getting up as well.

Carolyn has been on "WHAT'S APP" for about an hour talking to Ros. John is poorly with a bought of Bronchitis. They will be home the early hours of next Sunday. The weather has been warm and sunny out there, so they will come back with a tan.

Northing happening here today, just got to get dinner ready for tonight. Roast Beef, and the trimmings.

I will pop back this afternoon.

Morning all,

Just having my first MOT of the day as I hav'nt been up long.

Mouth still extremly sore and all down the side of my face. Raw throat and I itch all over. I think I may not have washed all the shower cream off and thats what making me itch.

Frank

Frank Report 26 Feb 2017 13:04

Go and get back in the shower Mel, and get that shower gel off your body.

I have had bulbs blow in the dining room, bathroom and kitchen. I have replaced the dining room one as I have lots of spares. The ones in the kitchen are different screw fitting to the ones I have. They look the same but won't screw into the fitting. There must be a slight difference to the screw thread, but the job will be finding the same one.

My dear Ros is out painting the Fence, She is doing it SILVER GREY. what she has done looks great, she is doing the small garage door to match the fence. So everything will be spruced up for the SPRING. When it arrives.

Have been looking at flights to Murcia Spain where Conrad is, for June. Not sure if it will be cheaper to get a one way, and buy the return when we are ready to come home. That's what Conrad and Jan do, and they says it's cheaper. Must also buy Insurance, which varies from Company to Company. We do have our EU card, but as you know it doesn't cover all things that might go wrong. HARK AT ME !!!!

No improvement in the weather, I think I will have to tell Ros to come in, NOT that she will take any notice of me.

That Chinese meal didn't agree with me last night. I woke this morning with a furred up mouth. I have cleaned my teeth (What few I have) and used mouth wash, but still not a nice taste in my mouth. Too many chillies me thinks !!!!

I have been expecting Jonathan around this morning to sort out my printer, but he might be busy, or forgot. I don't like to trouble him again. Nicola said he would be round sometime, it's not like him to let me down.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

Afternon all,

Not a bad day here it's been nice and sunny ,family came this morning and the children played out side with their scooters and roller skates, we sat out and the sun was quite warm even though it's very windy ,it's now clouded up and i can see a few black clouds.

Hope you soon get rid of the cold Mel and the itchy feeling .

Don't you find Frank that when one bulb blows there's always more that follows ,we're changing all ours to the LED bulbs now ,they are not cheap but supposed to last longer and save you money with the electric ,plus they are a nicer shapd than the energy saving bulbs .
I keep meaning to ask how the drying out on Conrads place is going , has he moved back in yet ?
Ros is a busy bee ,i hope your keeping her supplied with plenty of hot drinks .

Your neighbour does sound an old misery Gill you'd think he would let you go round to secure your screening ,i hope you can get it all back in place so your all nice and ship shape again.

Right I'd better let Max out of his crate now , i washed all my floors over whille he had a doze and i think they are all dry now so i can get my mats down again .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Feb 2017 16:58

Still feeling grotty.

Gillx

Gillx Report 26 Feb 2017 17:08

The wind has picked up Mandy so we've not been able to sort out the screening, in a way it's better to leave it to blow back and forth, we think if it was secure at the bungalow then the middle might break in two with the pressure, this way it all stays intact........well, we hope so anyway. On a positive the rest of the tree stump is now down to ground level and looks much better, we I make a new boarder down there I can cover the rest of it with soil and plant some ground covering plants to go over it.

Don't you just hate it when light bulbs don't fit but they look as if they will Frank. Hope you manage to find some that do fit you can't be without lights. The fence colour sounds nice, Ros does like the garden doesn't she? Sorry to hear Jan is unwell, hope she feels better soon. Has Jonathan turned up yet to see to your printer? So you're hoping to go to Spain in June, hope you find a cheap flight and insurance.

How are you feeling now Mel, maybe you should see the dentist or doctor, it sounds like you were in a lot of pain. Maybe you could try some Bonjela (sp) it works for babies when they are teething and might sooth the pain for you.

I'm still plodding on with my family tree, I didn't realise how many people I'd found and still finding, I can't complain though it's much better than hitting brick walls all the time. ;-) ;-)

Gillx Report 26 Feb 2017 17:10

Just noticed your post Mel, sorry to hear you're still feeling grotty, have you taken anything for it? Take it easy and rest ,maybe a warm drink might help. Not to hot though. :-) :-) Hope you feel better soon.

Afternoon Everyone
It is very windy here again today. Not very pleasant . Poor Thomas .I had to quickly do his flea treatment this morning as last night he was digging in his ears and then this morning he was still digging so I stuck my finger in one ear to give it a good old rub and brought out a Flea :-S ..He has been fraternising with the wild Rabbits :-S :-S
Yesterday he was gone for hours and then all morning again today. He has been licking his fur where the flea stuff has all dribbled down and I think it is making feel a bit sick or something .He doesn't look with it at all.I carried him in from the Summerhouse where he been sleeping all afternoon and he has flopped on the floor and is looking very sorry for himself. he is probably full of rabbit too as he hasn't looked at his dish.Hopefully he will be back to normal tomorrow.

Mel you haven't been in contact with something in the garden have you that has made you all itchy? Can you take a histamine to calm the itching?

Frank ,Hannah and Gareth have bought their air tickets already for Croatia in August.Hannah said it is much cheaper to buy as early as possible because they will soar in the summer.I hope you manage to get a good price .

Is Max still happy to stay in his crate Mandy? He must fill it up lol. I bet the children enjoyed their scooters and skates. Are they kept at yours or do they bring them when they visit? You were lucky today to be able to sit outside .No chance here.

Tomorrow morning I have my appointment for the injection in my cyst on my finger.I have to admit I am beginning to get a few butterflies.Chris will drop me off at the surgery and go to Wickes for some bits and bobs and then pick me up after.I seem to have chucked the letter I had for the appointment .I know it is for 9.30,but have a feeling it said to get there earlier. Honestly I am blooming useless.

I have made a different Beef Stroganoff than I normally do,and am not at all sure about it.I got Chris to taste it and he said he couldn't taste the Smoked Paprika and it needed lots more salt and pepper. So I bunged another good shake of Paprika in and he did the salt and pepper. But I am still not sure. Oh well, I know I will get honest comments from James and Chris later.

Thomas hasn't moved an inch from where he flopped :-(.. I will keep him in now for tonight ,not that he looks as though he is wanting to go anywhere .

The trees are really blowing about now so the wind must be getting stronger.

Annx Report 26 Feb 2017 19:01

Evening All,

It's been quite windy here today and blown my hair all skew whiff!! Thank goodness it will be trimmed on Tuesday. :-)

That's just the trouble I mentioned with our kitchen spotlight bulbs Frank. I measured the old one and the new ones I ordered were the same measurements but OH can only get 1 of the bulbs to screw in. We still have the 2 old dim ones and the searchlight one till we decide what to do. The new ones I got were LED ones too Mandy as we'd decided to try them.......the one that's lit is very bright!! It's a shame that John has bronchitis, he'll need to wrap up when he gets back.......no showing off tan on his bare arms! I hope your tum soon feels better, but you know what to expect with eating those hot chillies!! I would be the same.

Poor old Thomas getting a 'flea in his ear'.........OH would say he often gets them!! lol. It sounds like the flea treatment isn't agreeing with him unless he's just so full of rabbit. Good luck with the injection tomorrow. I suppose it will hurt a bit if it's in the joint, but should be quite quick and hopefully do the trick. From what I've seen of Croatia on tv it has some lovely unspoilt scenery and I've thought it would be nice to visit.......if only I was happy to fly! Hannah and Gareth should have a great time.

Oh dear Mel, sorry you are feeling so grotty. I get that kind of itchiness on the underside of my wrists sometimes and it drives you mad. Maybe some calamine lotion would help?

Good luck with that fence next to your pesky neighbour Gill. You'd think he would move stuff so your hubby can get to do it. He sounds like he'd sooner have a reason to moan though. You are doing really well with your tree now.......I must get back to mine soon.

Good idea to wash the floors with Max snoozing in his crate Mandy.........with his 4 legs it would be like 2 people paddling all over them. :-S

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 26 Feb 2017 19:27

Max still has plenty of room in his crate Jane ,he looked so lost in it when he was little ,now he sprawls out in it like a lord :-D
Hope all goes ok tomorrow with your injection ,has the cyst filled up again ?
Have you heard from Hannah how the Cat Emporium visit went ?

Ann lovely photos of the snow drops and the dear little robin ,i love the snow drops with the little green mark on the outside of the petals .
I read on our newspaper site that some one had been stealing snowdrops , 10,000 of them at one site ,,they had big crates they were putting them in but they got disturbed at one site and left them ,then the next night they moved on to some where else and dug more up , they are taking the Blue Bells too.

The wind has really got up here i can hear it roaring outside ,it's enough to bring more trees down that were loosened in the wind the other day !!

Poor Mel i hope your feeling better tomorrow ,horrible feeling so rotten .

Jane

Jane Report 26 Feb 2017 20:42

Yes Mandy it is filling up.Not a big as before it popped but each day it is looking bigger and getting tender again. No guarantee it won't come back again. But it is so unsightly I just want it gone for now.
Just peeled the potatoes and prepared the veg for a casserole tomorrow. So easy enough for Chris to put it all together if my hand is out of action .

Haven't heard yet how the afternoon was at the Cat Emporium Mandy.I'm sure I will soon :-D.
I am now going to think about getting ready for bed. I need to be up to wash my hair in the morning as it is a right old mess.
See you tomorrow .Hopefully I might get a sticker for being a brave girl :-D :-D

Frank Report 27 Feb 2017 12:00

Morning my little chatter box's, Evening Kim,

I can just see you face if they put a STICKER on your coat Jane. "BRAVE LITTLE THING"
It must be nice having the family so close, that they can pop in for a coffee and the children can play on their toys. Lewis is over 25 miles away. As for my children, I don't know where they are in the Country. !!!

Did you get that shower gel sorted Mel, I hope the itching has gone now, and your throat is a bit easier.

Ros is back in the garden this morning painting more of the fence. Thats FOUR large cans so far. She will go and get more on Wednesday when it's 10% off day at B & Q.

Spoke with my sister this morning. The physio has been again this morning and put her through her paces. Paul (her son) has been and lit the log fire, so she's nice and warm and snug as a bug. I try to ring her every two/three days, to check up on her. She will be 82 next Saturday. So card will be in the post this week, I am sending flowers through a local florist, to arrive on Saturday.

I have delayed having my shower this morning. But will have it shortly.

We checked on the light bulbs in the kitchen, and found when the light blew, I took out the bulb, and left the screw part in the socket. Wth a pair os Ros's Jewellery pliers I was able to unscrew that part, and replace the new bulb. So all is fine now.

Gill Who's fence is it. ?? Yours or your neighbours. ?? If it's his let him get on with it. It will be his expense at the end of the day.

No Anne today, I hope RUBY is well. !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Feb 2017 12:02

Morning all,

I don't have the raw throat today but my mouth is still sore on the roof where I jarred my tooth. I am still itchy all over and its driving me mad so I need to see the doctor I think. I have scratched my tummy in the night and made it bleed. Also my neck one side is itching today.

We had sunshine when I woke up and whilst I was making my tea oh came in from the garden and said it looked bad out there. I looked out the window and the sky out the front was a strange grey. Then all of a sudden it was like someone had tipped a huge bath of small hailstones down and afterthat we had what I call heavy snow that drops in big fast lumps then it rained!! and now the sun is out again.

Good luck with the injection today Jane and I hope it does the trick.

Ann the pics were lovely of all the different snowdrops. I too liked the little one with the green on their petals. They looked like little fairies.

Gill I thought of another plant you could use in the garden for winter colour and thats Heucheras. I have a few of them and they come in some lovely colours.
Just put Heucheras in the search box and look at Images of Heucheras. I will say some of th ecolours on there are not quite right but a lot of them are.

Good afternoon everyone

Ruby went to the vet this morning for her 2nd injections and can go walkies in 2 weeks time. The vet gave her a thorough check up and was very pleased with her, we went to the crematorium to put a pot of tete a tete daffs by Peter's plot as it is his birthday tomorrow he would have been 80

I will try and get back shortly but have to let Ruby out of her cage in the kitchen as she has just woken up

Annx Report 27 Feb 2017 14:27

Afternoon All,

We've had sunshine, rain and now it's sunny again!

It does look like you should perhaps see the doc Mel. The throat and itching may all be connected. You have had a variety of weather this morning.......hope it isn't on it's way to us! I loved the variety of all the snowdrops we saw. I want to get some more, but want to get them in the green as they are more successful than bulbs.

Ros is certainly a worker Frank getting so much of the fence painted already. I quite fancied the silvery grey when we painted ours but OH would take a while to get used to the idea......he's not so adventurous! I think the plants will show up nicely against it. It's good you managed to get the screw bit of the bulb out and put the new one in.

I wonder if Jane has qualified for a sticker yet! :-) I expect it will be a bit sore for a while after the injection. :-S Good idea to get the veg for the meal for today prepared yesterday. I used to do that a lot of the time when I was at work.

OH was up early and walked to the village for the papers and back which takes half an hour. He intends doing it more often as it should help his bones. I was up early, did 4 mins on the cross trainer, changed the bed, put the washer on and did a bit of cleaning. We showered then, had brunch and did the supermarket shop and put it away. Then we felt shattered!! lol. Not sure if we can keep this getting up early and getting things done milarkey going for long! Still, we can but try. OH is off to a meeting later.

Anne

Anne Report 27 Feb 2017 15:03

Back again

I now have Ruby on my lap, fast asleep.

Ann the photos you have taken of the snow drops were so pretty, that's one thing I find difficult to grow, the little Robin looks friendly and obviously stayed still enough for his photo to be taken.

We booked our summer holiday through Sykes,. with the girls yesterday, it's in Allerston near Pickering, Yorkshire and close to Scarborough and Whitby coast plus not too far from York it also has a pool table in a games room which pleases the girls, we are going at the beginning of August.

Frank

Frank Report 27 Feb 2017 15:13

Afternoon, from a wet (POURING WITH RAIN) Northants. We had snow warmer, nor it's continuing to throw it down.

Ros got some painting done, before she had to dive in to the weather. The garage door is still open, I will get it closed later. She is busy on the sewing machine making more baby covers. Where she finds the energy I don't know.

Yes Mel the Doctors visit might be a good idea. Better to get it sorted, than let it develop.
Ann, that's a nice walk for OH. I can see when the weather improves I will have to start my Canal walk. I will take me longer than half hour, but I have seats where I can rest.

No CHEAP flights at the moment. I think I might have to try different dates. As we are able to go anytime, it might get cheaper.

All the lights and heating on. It looks blooming cold outside. I was thinking of going to the pub. Liverpool V Leicester. but I will have to see at 7.30 pm what the weather is doing.

Cold Beef, Salad for Ros. Chips and pickle for me. One of my favourites.

Stay dry and warm.
