Frank Report 2 Mar 2017 13:39

Mel, try to relax, it might just be that you need something to help with the itching. or something showing up that needs attention.

As promised I have sent a letter to the SUN Letters page. regarding the treatment of Ros yesterday, I had one reply from B & Q this morning, but blasted off another regarding their disregard for the elderly customers. (don't let Ros know I refer to her as elderly, but she is at 71 )

Lovely sunny afternoon here but that wind is blowing well. I see Valerie has her son here. He is at the bottom of their little garden I think trying to remove the ivy that Ros hs been complaining about for the last three years, Val tried to pull some out, but with no great success. Ros was going round to try to do it herself. Her LAZY HUSBAND just won't do a thing. At the moment he is trimming a tree full of IVY.

Going to get a tin of soup now. See you later.

Frank

Frank Report 2 Mar 2017 15:34

Dos came home from S.D. at 1.30. She went and changed and straight into the garden with her tin of paint.

I am feeling cold so have put the heating on, I have a nurse appointment for 8.00 pm this evening for my injection. What a time for the Drs to still be open !!!!

It looks as though Val's son did a bit of IVY clearing ,as the back of his car had a lot in. He left about an hour ago. I see Tony never came to help him.

IF the weather stays fine tomorrow and the lawns are dry enough I might get the mower out. That will be the start of the mowing season for me,

What are you all up to this beautiful afternoon. ???

Jane

Jane Report 2 Mar 2017 16:09

Afternoon All

Oh Mel I have probably missed you now and you will have left for your appointment.
I am sure it is nothing too bad to worry about.Maybe it is a hormone imbalance or something like that it may be a swab is needed from your lady bits which is why you are seeing the Lady Dr. I hope that OH has gone with you <3

Frank, you started on the Testosterone Injections to help with your mood swings and temper (if I remember correctly). So maybe you need to keep up with the injections :-D

That was good to have had a swift reply from B&Q.I agree that it was bad no-one helped Ros.There never seem to be many staff in our store either. There has been many a time I have gone round and round to try and find someone to help me find something or mix paint.

Crumbs we have a really cold wind here.it is quite bitter outside even with the lovely sunshine. Chris has been to Cambridge and has just got home. I got him to buy Hannah some Perfume for her Birthday. He had a free cosmetic bag and Body Lotion with it too.He took an expensive Fountian Pen he has had for years but not used as he wanted a narrow nib instead of the wide one . What a shock he got. It would cost £250!!!.So the pen has gone back in the drawer.

There was a huge Rabbit down the bottom of the gardenthis morning....and where was Thomas. Fast asleep in the Summerhouse :-S

Oh Gill, how disappointing not to get the snow you were hoping for.At least Sandra hadn't got herself all excited thinking she was going to finally be able to make her Snowman.

I have just got dinner ready.Chicken with Asparagus wrapped in Bacon. Parmentier Potatoes (made by me :-D).I found some special seasoning stuff for potatoes that I bought in France last year .So the cubes of potato are now coated with that and Olive Oil and some crushed garlic.Looks and smells good.

Mel will just be about to see the Dr.She will have been so worried all day waiting. It would have been nice if she had had some kind of explanation as to why they wanted to see her.
Hopefully we will hear from her when she gets home.

Jane Report 2 Mar 2017 16:52

Frank,I think we have rain forecast for the morning. Our Mower is in for its yearly service. So no grass cutting here for a while.
That next door neighbour of yours sounds a right waste of space. How is Val doing these days?
Thomas has gone off with a determined lok to his walk lol.He was sniffing around where i saw the big Rabbit earlier today.

Janice rang me at 8.30 this morning just before they boarded the plane. They had been at the airport since midnight !!!.She said they left home at 11am yesterday.Hopefully they will have had a good sleep on the plane.I think they still have a couple of hours or so before they land. They will be like Zombies !

Hannah went to the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden last night to see Sleeping Beauty.I don't know who she went with but it was a Christmas present. It was a long performance with 2 intervals !.I hope that she enjoyed the experience.I bet it was amazing.

New Dishwasher tomorrow :-D :-D.. Can't wait now as the Marigolds sprung a leak and my fingers look like wrinkled prunes :-|

I'm back and still in one piece. My liver is a bit out and I need to lose a bit of weight and she said I am not to wash with any soap at all but to use I think she said Cetrabin and she also said she dos'nt know why Dr Jay gave me those antihistamin as the wrong ones. She prescribed some more I can take three or four times a day which I think is what I have had before.

When she looked at my records my liver was the same last May but they never said anything then.I have put on 2 kilos since May last year but I said we have had Christmas since then and a birthday and I had lots of chocs.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Mar 2017 17:59

Ah Mel !! Nothing too bad then. That is good.I bet you could have cried with relief after being on tenterhooks all day. Lets hope that your new antihistamines do the trick for the itchies .

Evening all,

Been lovely and sunny here all day but the wind has been a bit on the keen side , we went to a small B&Q this morning as Colin need some new handles for a cupboard he's recycling, it's an oak cupboard that son was throwing out so Colin said he'd paint it for me in Ivory Tusk and wax the top and i'll have it in the conservatory to keep bits and pieces in .
We also looked at paint for the lounge ,i'm hoping we can get it decorated in a few weeks time ,we quite fancy a very pale grey on the walls with a slightly darker grey on the walls each side of the fire place , a new carpet and new curtains and we'll be sorted ,we have three new oak doors that Colin bought last year and hasn't been able to hang so they will go on too.

Mel i'm glad it was nothing to serious and 2 kilos is not that much of a weight gain ,lets hope these new tablets help the itch .

Jane what are you like !! first the dish washer leaks and now your gloves ,your not having much luck with washing up things :-D :-D
That's a lot of money for a pen nib :-0 could he get it cheaper on line ?

Annx

Annx Report 2 Mar 2017 20:36

Evening All,

What a worry for you Mel! All sorts must have been going through your mind today, but it sounds as if they think losing some weight will help and the new tablets should calm down the awful itching. My hairdresser said the other day that she had put on 5 pounds over Christmas.

I can never find anyone to help when I need it at B&Q either Frank. Don't even start me on Sainsbury's having shelves too high for me to reach stuff either! It does seem very poor that they couldn't get the paint to the store for you to collect though. That's what most places will do. It'll be a shame if you can't go out to see Conrad, but the coach trip would be good round Yorkshire. Your neighbour never changes does he.......poor old Val!

Mandy it sounds like you will be busy with your decorating plans. Our kitchen and porch are shades of grey (not 50! lol) and I like it. Are the new oak doors those with an upright plank effect set in a frame of oak.......I love those and wouldn't mind some myself! :-)

I've been hobbling about today. What with doing only 4 minutes on the elliptic trainer a couple of days ago and then tramping around the retail park at Grantham most of yesterday with just a couple of breaks for drinks I had seized up this morning! My back aches and knees are sore and feel like they have stinging nettles inside them. I have to keep getting up before I seize up so I shall be up and down like a yo yo at beading in the morning. :-S

We had a slightly different version of the skipping song.

All in together girls
Never mind the weather girls
When you hear your birthday
Please jump IN

Then when we were all in, we'd start singing 'please jump OUT'.

That pen nib was pricey Jane.......was it gold? Your Marigolds have just lasted long enough. I bet you will be glad when the new DW is fitted tomorrow.

The 2 rope skipping with the ropes going opposite ways was tricky. I can picture us now with our skirts tucked up our knicker legs so we didn't catch the rope!

Off to get ready to watch Noel now and an early night.

Frank Report 2 Mar 2017 21:01

Just back from the Nurse. She was running late. I have had my injection. I asked why I needed this every month and she said my body needs it to help with other things, so I must continue with it.

I'll join you Ann, I have been hobbling around today, my right hip and shoulder have been playing up. I managed to get down to the shed this afternoon. I know I have some of those Z clips for the greenhouse glass, but do you think I can find them. NO WAY, so I have ordered some from Ebay. When they arrive I will have to put the glass in the greenhouse, no doubt with Ros's help.

Mel, I am glad that things are not as bad as you were thinking. It's bad that the other Dr. gave you the wrong tablets, lets hope you will do better on the right ones.

I am trying to stop drinking at home, it was getting to much of a habit. I haven't had a beer at home for three days now. But I did have some wine last night.

I will be having an early night again tonight. So sleep tight all, see you in the morning.

The other thing I forgot to say is that the surgery did'nt have either of the new scripts the soc gave me so I have to go back tomorrow.

O Annis'nt it horrid when you feel like you have stinging nettles inside a joint. Iv'e had that and also when I was a lot younger and had a bad back my hip started to play up a bit and it felt like someone was holding a lighted ciggy to my hip.

So much for cutting down on the cake front. We had a cuppa this afternoon with a piece of Genoa cake and a piece of Walnut Cake!! naughty but nice. I would have bought cake and hot cross buns this week too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all

A bit dull again here today but so far a dry day, although according to the weather that won't last, it's forecast for rain all over the weekend :-( I'm going to end up with a swimming pool in my garden at this rate.

Well, I'm getting there with my family tree, I must of added almost 200 people so far and still finding more each day. It's better than hitting brick walls all the time. I just have a few more to add today then this section should be finished. I though I'd already finished last night but then noticed two more siblings I hadn't added spouses and children to, so that's today sorted.

Sorry to hear of your fright at the doctors yesterday, I bet you're glad it's not to serious Mel?

So it's dishwasher day today Jane, you'll be able to bin the marigolds now ;-) ;-) :-D
What time is it arriving? The pen nib sounded very expensive, I don't blame Chris for not bothering and putting it away.

Sorry to hear about your knees Ann, hope they are feeling better today.

How's the little Robin getting on at yours Frank? I see your neighbour is still as helpful as ever.......NOT. At least Val's son managed to clear some of the ivy, so that's a start. Where about in Yorkshire are you hoping to go to? I went to York as a child, it's a very interesting place to visit.

So you're going to be busy decorating soon then Mandy, your ideas sound lovely especially the doors. I love oak, it's my favourite kind of wood. :-) :-)

Liz, emailed me to say her subs have run out, she isn't going to re-new them just yet, so won't be on the thread for a while.

Well, I'd better go and finish off these last two siblings on my tree, after a cuppa of course ;-)
What is everyone else doing today? Hope the weather isn't to bad if you're on your way out.

Morning All

Just getting on here while little miss Ruby is asleep, she certainly keeps me on my toes, the girls are arriving later for the weekend so she will have them to amuse her as well;

Sorry to hear Liz won't be on here for a while we will all miss her and hearing about Cas and Merlin hope everything is OK with her and the family.

I know exactly how you felt when the Dr wanted to see you about the blood test Mel, the same thing happened to me sometime ago now and I was imagining the worst, mine turned out to be the diabetic sugar level why they can't tell you over the phone directly I don't know.

Richard is still off sick, he went to one of our Doctors and he has a chest infection so on antibiotics for a week, not to take any cough mixture only paracetamol, he also has slightly high cholesterol . We are fortunate with our Doctors, he rang in the morning 5 minutes later the Doctor rang back and gave him an appointment for that afternoon.

Hope all the aches and pains and Mel's itches are improving for everyone, the weather doesn't help, it's raining here again at the moment

Frank Report 3 Mar 2017 11:03

Morning to all you lovely people, Evening Kim,

Filthy morning here. Rain and wind. They say it's going to be like it all weekend. :-( :-( :-(

Ros is going to do the HW then sewing or a bit of jewellery making. She complained the the sky had to "CRY" this morning, as she wanted to get the fence finished.

The ROBIN seems to have settled in. The dish of meal worms have gone down considerably, so Ros topped them up again yesterday. If they carry on eating like this, they will have a job to fly. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Pam and Dennis the other neighbours came out yesterday and complimented Ros on how nice the fence looks. So she is well pleased. <3 <3 <3 It will do her good to have a day off from the garden.

New D/W then madam. Look after this one, you seem to get through a lot of WHITE GOODS !!!

How are you feeling this morning Mel. ?? a bit better I hope.

We haven't talked about if we don't go to Conrad's this year. Thinking about the coach trip. I wonder how we will fare sitting all day.

My BUM is very sore this morning. It woke me at 4.00 am and I was awake for a good hour. Each time I looked at the clock, it didn't seem to have moved. Did drop off again and woke at 7.30. Just laid there till 8.30. Ros slept until 9.15. But she is up until 1.00 am watching her Jewellery Programme. I have words with her, but it makes no difference.!!!!

Gill don't hold your breath regarding the weather, I am sure you will get the RAIN soon.

What a pity Liz is taking a break from the thread. She has done this before, but soon miss's us and comes back. <3 <3 <3 See you soon LIZ.

How's Ruby this morning Anne ?? still chasing around like a lunatic I expect. Won't be long now before you can take her for a walk. She will love all the new smells.

Shower and shave in a mo. Then a day of reading and Nat Geo. What would I do with out it.

I had a nice grilled breakfast this morning, Sausages, Bacon, Tomato's and two eggs on toast. THREE BIG COT. so I am bloated now. Greedy little Begger !!!

Morning all,

Dull and windy here today. I woke in the night itching like mad all over, arms, neck body and even my scalp. It is now no joke and I am going to tell the doc this afternoon as its driving me mad.

It will do Ros good to have a day indoors instead of out painting the fences. She can't have much more to do now or has she Frank?

Frank

Frank Report 3 Mar 2017 14:00

Sorry to hear about your disturbed night Mel, the Dr must be able to give you something for it. It can't be ROCKET science. !!!

Ros has TWO more panels to do, plus a bit on the back fence. She has showered and washed her hair. Now in rollers, so the hair drying will be starting up soon.

I have had another reply from B & Q saying that there is nothing they will do about the delivery charge. Not a mention of the bad service received by Ros. I replied to say. "Don't reply as next time I might get very abusive" and I don't think they would like it. If I had my way she (Ros) would never go there again.

Still a very wet afternoon here, so will just sit and read or watch Tele.

Afternoon all,

Rainy old day here and cold too so we have a nice fire blazing away.

Mel the itching must be awful i hope the doctor can get you sorted out with some thing this afternoon so you can get some relief from it .

If will do Ros good having a break from painting the fence ,it can be back aching when you have to do all that bending over to do the bottom of the panels.
So you have a sore botty today Frank ,did she use an extra long needle this time :-0 :-D
Colin has made a start on the cupboard ,he's put new hinges on the two cupboard doors and hopes to start painting it this afternoon .

Yes Ann the doors do have that plank effect look ,i had to think when you asked as it's a while ago since we bought them , i know they were on offer at just under a hundred pounds each and they had the handles with them too .

We're having a nice piece of roast beef tonight ,it's in the oven now as i like to do it nice and slow ,it has to be well done for us ,any sign of blood and i won't be eating it .

Hope the dishwasher has arrived ok Jane, you'll be away tonight no more old marigolds :-D

I now have to have another blood test in two months and no caffine for two months either. So I shall be missing my morning cuppa, boo hoo. I don't drink coffee much at all only on the occasion when Di comes or I just fancy one as I am quite happy with tea. I can go on decafe tea after the two months.

Mel I was just looking up on google things that cause itching like you have.I had a look at Omeprozole (I think you said you take that) and one of the side effects can be itching.(just a thought).Just a little itch is annoying so what you have must be totally unbearable.I hope it soon clears up for you.

Oh Liz,we will miss you.is it just a short break you are having from GR.? Come back soon. At least you will still be able to read the posts :-D and keep in touch by emails.

Your new cupboard is going to look lovely when it is up and painted Mandy. I really would love to have my kitchen ripped out and have something a bit more modern. Can't see that happening though.

Are you sitting on one cheek then Frank ?.How long does your BTM stay sore after the injections?

What a day it has been . Rain all the time until about 2pm.I braved town this morning as I wanted to get Hannah a couple more presents.I had to navigate around some very deep puddles on the pavements.
I forgot to call in at the vets to get Worm Treatment for Thomas. He is due it now and I need to make sure he has it now he is off eating Rabbits.

I bet my Sister and Larry are sitting on deck in the Carribean Sunshine right now.Hopefully they managed to have a good sleep after their very long journey and batteries recharged.I forgot to ask which ports they are calling into.

The dishwasher arrived at 8.30 and the men were away 25 minutes later. We had a phone call at 8.15 to say they would be here in 15mins.Chris was in the shower and was still in bed.So it was a bit of a rush LOL.In the end Chris was ready and I just stayed upstairs.

Anne ,that was brilliant service from your Doctors .I hope Richards Chest infection doesn't take long to clear. You can hand over Ruby to the girls this weekend :-D,and have a bit of 'me time'. Even going to the loo is quite an achievement with a little Pup .It really is jusy like having a baby isn't it. I can just picture your room with all her toys everywhere. I had a toy box beside the settee for Chesters Toys and he would go and turf all of them out !!!!!...Is Richard able to maybe take a little video of Ruby playing sometime?I would love to see that.

I have just looked at the time ! Nearly 6.Better get the oven on for James and his dinner .He is going to Jess again this weeekned as it is the first anniversary of her Grandpa's death and there is a big family meal on Sunday. I know he doesn't really want to go but feels Jess wants him there(which I can understand ) as her family are pretty intense (not sure if that is the right word) crazy might be better :-) :-S

Mel do you like the fruit teas ? i think they are caffine free .

That was good to get your dishwasher early Jane but that was a bit too early !! i hate having to wait in for things as i don't seem to be able to settle to do any thing in case i miss the door bell.
Goodness where has the year gone it doesn't seem a year ago you told us Jess had lost her grandad .

The rain finally stop late this afternoon , it's been a chilly old day .
