Morning all,

Wet wet wet here everywhere is sodden. Will this ceaseless rain never end I ask myself?

Still itching...............................

I think it will be Lamb Stew tonight for dinner so nice and easy all in one pot.

Good morning to you all, Evening Kim,

Mel the feeder is on the lawn, well away from the garage, but closer up the lawn than it was. Sorry you are having all the bad weather. We had rain in the night, and everywhere is damp this morning. The sky looks quite bright so we can hope for sunshine later.

Nothing really to report this morning, Ros is busy ironing all the washing done yesterday.

We went to out little (NOT SO SMALL) pub about 4.30. It was nice and quiet with no children running around. Food was up to the usual standard except the chips could have been warmer. !!

The birds are having the time of their lives on the feeder. I can see them from where I sit at the Computer. Will pop out to the garage soon, to see if there is any further building in progress.

See you all later.

Must fill up our feeders. Have been giving Jenny Wren and Robby live mealworms this morning. Oh said in the cold weather the Robin was nearly coming to his hand. I have been too busy to try him on my hand as it takes him ages to even attempt it and I have other things to do.

Must get on .

Anne Report 8 Mar 2017 12:12

Good morning all

It has been raining again but has brightened up now, thank goodness

Our bird feeders are very popular as well, lots of tits, blackbirds , ring doves, wood pigeons, one regular thrush, wagtail, robin and yesterday the jay was back but only on the fence.

Ruby is having her morning nap so I have been going through some old paperwork, in among it were some mother's day cards from last year and the one from Richard was actually a puppy Boston and Mum with the words "Thanks Mum" the Mum has identical face markings to Ruby, at this time there was no thought of us getting a Boston.

Not doing too much today apart from getting the dinner ready, pork chops for Richard and some veg which I will have as well.

Sorry to hear your still itching Mel

Still dry here, Ros is out on the footpath weeding the stone chipping's. Most bungalows have a grass bit there, but when I use to mow it I caught the water meter covers, which sit proud of the grass surface. So I did away with the grass and put down chipping's.

How strange that you should have a "Mothers day card" with Ruby on, even before you thought about having her. <3 <3 I see she is having her nap, bless her.

Jane I understand you have all the info. on you know who. I have emailed her.

I was a bit angry with Ros last night over all the SOAPS I have to sit through night after night. She has said she 'WON'T WATCH THEM ANYMORE'. I think that is a bit extreme, but I made my point !!! :-P :-P :-P.

Shin of beef in the casserole, I have put it on low, so by 6.00 pm it will be falling apart. I have dome cabbage, parsnips, runners, and Carrots. I must put a rice pudding in the bottom of the oven for Ros, she loves something sweet after her dinner.

It just goes to show Anne that Ruby was meant to be. How lovely to find it though. You will have to keep it now. Give that little girl a hug from me when she wakes up please.

We can't stand the soaps either Frank. It was mum who used to watch them all. I can't stand all the shouting and arguing that is always going on.

Still raining here that horrid small stuff that makes everything soaking wet. Even the birds seem fed up with it and are looking down in the dumps.

Annx Report 8 Mar 2017 14:58

Afternoon All,

Hope you are tickety boo now Mandy. Maybe it was the beetroot as you say. It's horrid when you have to keep getting up like that. You begin to think is it worth leaving the bathroom!

I hope the itching soon eases Mel. Did the doc suggest how long it may take?

Jane please thank Fitz for doing the booking for the meal and good he has suggested us not having the stairs to cope with! lol. I had a chuckle at he thought of us hobbling in like 3 lame ducks. I have improved a little now but am stopping when the warning twinges start.

What a great little puppy Ruby is turning out to be Anne. It will be great for you both soon when she can go for some walks. It will burn a bit of that dynamite energy off and she will really enjoy it. That was good that Richard hadn't forgot his tablet after all and that he is feeling better now.

How nice you may have two little bird families to watch Frank and with such a good 'cafe' you are providing too. You did well to get your lawns mown. We had lots of rain last night too but it is nice and sunny again today.

That's good you have found a solution to the fence problem Gill. We had to fasten a bit of fence to the side of our bungalow one side to cover the gap down the side. We keep odds and ends out of sight down there and there is a tall gate at the front of the bungalow to get to things. The main path is the other side of the bungalow.

I'm not really a morning person either and like to come round quietly! Not OH though, he is wide awake once he's out of bed. Here's an example today of how he is...........this morning he was ready to shower and he knows I like to go in first as the bathroom is too boiling hot and steamy for me to follow after him. I was still in bed and I heard him put the shower on. Then he comes in with a big grin on his face and starts a little dance at the bottom of the bed, singing words to the tune of Y M C A but with his own words he has made up!! So there he is, going from side to side and punching his hands up in the air to left then right with great enthusiasm and singing M Y B A. Well the first 3 letters stand for 'Move Your Big......and I'll let you guess what the 'A' stands for!! It's very hard to keep your composure and not laugh with all that going on. :-)

Frank Report 8 Mar 2017 16:53

Stayed dry here all day, just popped into the garage , and the Robin came in with a beak full of moss. The blackbird has taken to getting his earth supply from the Belfast sink that we have the mint in. Ros has cleared all the old mint from it, ready for the new plants that should be here tomorrow. Now we have earth over the patio somewhere else. She said she will be pleased when he's finished building his nest, then she won't have to keep sweeping up after him. ;-) ;-) ;-

With Ros being in the front garden all day, she has everyone (women) stopping for a chat. One stayed for ages, Ros was finished her choirs and wanted to come in the warm, but still she stood talking. Finally Ros said I must go I am freezing.

Ann your OH is taking his life in his hands singing that song to you !!! I bet you had a job not to laugh or jump out of bed and THUMP HIM ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mel, I bet you will be glad to see the back of the rain. Is it coming our way ??

I might go to see the match tonight, that way there won't be any cross words about the soaps. It will also give me an excuse for a couple of pints. The soaps were alright years ago, but as they have developed so have the stupid story lines. Why Emmerdale needs three pairs of gays in it I do not know, as for the family who run the pub in East Enders, why they every bought them into it, I will never know. They try far to hard to be EAST ENDERS, and will never make the grade. :-P :-P :-P

Dinner is smelling lovely, I have given it a stir and tasted the gravy. It's wonderful. Dos always has a mug of gravy with this dinner. I might even try one myself tonight.

Afternoon All
Well what a lovely day it has been. I still have a big window open in the lounge. Not a drop of the wet stuff... Sorry you have had to suffer that today Mel.

LOL Ann ! :-D. I hope he had his jimjams or something on wit hall that jiggling about ;-)..He is funny. S.So did you MYBA ? :-D :-D

I had my eyes tested and no prescription change which is good.Even my pressures were a bit lower for the first time.I really was expecting to be forking out for new specs ,so it was a nice result.
The Plumber has been. He is going to fit a new shower control bar thingy on Friday, and has asked me to do a test on the water cylinder in the airing cupboard tomorrow .It is still putting water out from the overflow everyday. He may have to insist the makers of this Cylinder. He still thinks there might be a problem with a bit on the inside .He said he has fitted about 40 cylinders like ours snce he put ours in and has had no trouble with any of them...Typical that it has to be ours causing problems :-S Hey ho whats new !

Fancy finding that card Anne :-D. As Mel or someone said a Boston was just meant to be :-D

Mandy what a rotten time you have had with the upset tum.You were certainly 'on the go' :-S.I wonder what that was all about. Something you ate ?Or one of these 12hr bugs? You must have felt quite drained after all that.I hope you are now fully recovered .
Frank.I think these days the soaps and other programmes have to include all of the different sexual orientations.Which I think is absolutely right.Whether you might be Gay.Lesbian,Bi, Trans ,Black ,white ,disabled or whatever .I think it is a good that these days everyone can be represented .And should be.

We are still waiting for our Lawn Mower .It has been gone in for service now for 2 weeks !!!. Chris will be out there once he has it back getting those stripes on the lawn LOL
My window cleaner came yesterday. This time it was Chris caught out .He had just got in the shower when I heard the ladder going up. So I hared in and pulled the blind down (just to cover his modesty :-D).They actually haven't done such a good job this time as there are lots of smears on the windows :-S

Theatre for us tomorrow afternoon.I thought we were going to Pizza Express first ,but Chris has got vouchers for 25% off in Ask Italian. So we are going there .I think you have been there before Frank. It is right opposite the Guildhall in Northampton.

Sausages and Bubble and Squeak tonight .

Evening all,

Not rubbing it in Mel but we've had another lovely sunny day here too ,i did try to blow it your way but i ran out of puff.

I had to laugh at your OH Ann i too like Jane thought i wonder if he had his clothes on when he was jiggling about :-0 :-D :-D

It just goes to show Anne that Ruby was meant to be for you :-) the card was a sign .

My sister is now looking for another puppy ,this time she wants a golden lab ,but she's not having much luck finding one in this area ,plenty of black and chocolate ones but no golden ones , her last one Abby was black and before that she had Megan she was a golden one.

I bought some pretty Primulers today to have in my wall boxes that Colin made for me the yellow ones smell so nice and they will brighten up the boxes with the little daffs in too.

We bought a new tray for Max's crate the last one was plastic and had got brittle and had a crack in ,this one is metal as they don't make a plastic one for it any more and he doesn't like walking in onto it as it rattles ,as soon as i put his bedding in he'll go in but the little monkey pulls the bedding out with him as soon as i lift the door open :-D he has always pulled his bedding to one side and laid on the plastic tray and he is laying on the metal tray once he's in but he just doesn't like walking on this new one , i might get a rubber mat to slide underneath the tray to stop it rattling .

I keep meaning to say Mel Gardeners world starts this Friday but only a half hour programme again .

Evening all

It's been lovely and sunny all day, same as yesterday, OH was hoping to cut the lawns but unfortunately the heavens opened all night so now it's to wet, even with all the sun we've had today. All we need is a couple of days sun and no rain at night then he can do our first cut of the year, it's starting to look really tatty now.

How lovely to find the card Anne. It must of been a sign of what was to come. Now you have the really puppy and boy is she cute. When are you taking her for her first walk, it can't be far off now. Sandra and I can't wait to hear all about it.

You did make me laugh Ann telling us what your OH did this morning. It would be hard not to laugh, he sounds a really funny man. :-) :-) Yes the fence/screening is all sorted now. The wind was a bit strong last night and when I checked the brackets OH put on yesterday they were still there and everything was still intact. So I'm a happy bunny now. ;-) ;-)

Sorry to hear you're still itching Mel, hope it improves soon. I also hope you get some sunshine soon, it can't be much fun with all the rain and cold weather you've been having lately.

That was good about your eyes Jane, but what problems you have with your plumbing. Is the cylinder under guarantee, maybe you could have it replaced, it sounds like it's faulty if none of the others are like it. Hope it's sorted soon for you. At least your shower will be fixed on Friday, so that's some good news.

How lovely the two birds are still making their nests Frank, even if the blackbird is a bit messy. It won't last for long and then you'll have the babies to look forward to. It sounds like Ros is busy with her plants again, she does work hard. We need to cut down a large bush in the front garden. Hopefully the weather will be nice next week so I can help OH do it when he's off work. It's a lovely bush but it's so big it's more like a very wide tree now and is overhanging the hedge and protruding inwards over the lawn, so has to be cut right back to keep it under control. Sorry to hear you don't like the soaps. Sandra and I watch them, but they are over by the time OH gets home from work so it doesn't really effect him. I would feel the same though if I had to watch 2 or more hours of something I didn't like every night. Do you have another TV you could watch while Ros watched her soaps, then you could find something you both like afterwards to watch together. It's not worth falling out over.

Annx Report 8 Mar 2017 18:59

Any 'jiggling' would have me in hysterics Jane LOL He had his joggers on this morning as he was up early and had been out to the garage to check the mousetraps!! Frank, with the cheeky way he does these things, all you can do is laugh! :-) I hope Ollie's hip and back are ok on his hols or it will be a miserable time for him. I envy him where he is going though. It's a place I would love to see.

I'm inclined to agree with you about the number of gay couples in Emmerdale. While it's good to represent all walks of life it does seem a bit top heavy for a tiny village. The story lines are getting very far fetched lately too.

Better go and set the recorder now as there are a few progs I want to see! :-)

Jane

Jane Report 8 Mar 2017 19:33

Is it that Max's nails make the clip clop sound on the metal tray that puts him off Mandy? It might be that he doesn't feel secure on it.
You say about no Golden Labs . It has made me realise that I never see any these days. They are either Black or Chocolate.I hope we aren't loosing the Golden Labs.

Gill the Cylinder is Guaranteed for 25 yrs.Pipe work not.It is a stainless steel cylinder (has a special name) I can't think what it is right now.It is all beyond my comprehension :-S :-S

Annx Report 8 Mar 2017 21:21

You see a lot of the fashionable crossbreeds around here, Labradoodles and Cockerpoos that don't shed their hair, but not so many Staffies any more. We saw an adorable little Yorkie tied up outside a shop while the owner was inside today. I'm not a great lover of the breed but it had a really cute face and just wagged it's little tail when I spoke to it. No yapping or jumping up, just waiting there patiently.

The rubber mat idea for Max will hopefully do the trick Mandy as it does sound like the rattling noise is the problem. It sounds like he is trying to move his bed out!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Mar 2017 23:07

I think I have "Mud Hip" every time I go in to feed the hens I get stuck in the mud. My boots are a size four and I usually take a three but they don't make a three in the boots I like. If I pull up too hard my foot just comes out of the boot and into the sloshy mud.

I wish we could have the weather you lot seem to be having at the moment. I do seem to remember that we had nice weather a little while ago and you lot did'nt so perhaps its just pay back time.

Ann I laughed at your little story of oh jiggling about and could just picture him. Was it just his joggers he had on? or a t shirt too?

Mandy I'm pleased you are now feeling better after your many visits the other night. Poor Max with his new tray. Its probably colder than the plastic one too. As you say a mat should help. You'll have to let us know how he gets on once you have bought the mat.

There's lots of all colours of Lab around here. Mum had a yellow lab when she moved down here. We came home from a holiday in Devon to find mum had this puppy. I was so surprized. I have a pic of her somewhere and shall have to see if I can find it. Her name was Kim. She used to wait for my dad to come home from work about 4.30 to 5pm. She would lay so she could see out the back gate and when she heard his van she would get up ready to greet him. When dad died she layed there for a ages waiting for him to come home.

Gillx

Gillx Report 8 Mar 2017 23:33

I missed your post earlier Mandy I think the rubber mat is a good idea for Max it'll be similar to the plastic tray you had before and will probably settle him down. It's the same around here no golden labs but lots of black and chocolate. The only golden ones I've seen have been the guide dogs in training, we have quite a lot of those around here and see them all the time in Tesco's. Sandra loves making a fuss of them, although sometimes the trainers ask us not to stroke them if they are very young, they seem okay with it on the older ones though.
The plants you bought are the ones I bought last year and planted for Sandra to look at, they're the ones she keeps taking pictures of. I was thinking of Gardeners World today so I'm glad you mentioned it as I forgot to check. I record it on a Sunday as we watch other things on a Friday at that time so I can't record it or it would clash. Looking forward to it now, thanks for letting us know.

That's good having a 25 year guarantee Jane, pity it doesn't cover the pipes though. Let's hope the problem is sorted soon for you.

The little dog sounded good as gold Ann. I'm not keen on dogs who jump up and bark, it makes me a bit nervous. I've only just come to trusting dogs in the last year after having a bad experience with one when I was three.

How sad that the dog lay there waiting for your dad to come home and you can't explain to them what's happened can you? I remember Jez our middle cat searching the house looking for Sophie our eldest cat, when we had to put her down, she looked everywhere for ages until she finally gave up.......it broke my heart to see her and there was nothing I could do except cuddle her.

Off to bed now. I had a bad night last night, woke up around 2.30 after a nightmare and couldn't get back off properly so gave up in the end and got up. I'm really shattered now so hopefully I'll sleep better tonight and my body clock will go back to normal.

See everyone tomorrow
Night Night.

Morning all

Another sunny day today. OH is cutting the back lawn before he goes out, he'll do the front one when he gets back home later.

Going to catch up on some of my programmes today, they are starting to mount up and I want to free up some space on the planner ready for the F1 starting again at the end of the month.

Sandra's still asleep and with OH going out it should be nice and quiet.

Doing a load of washing first. What is everyone else up to today?

Good Morning my sweeties, Evening Kim,

Another lovely morning here (SORRY MEL) Ros was up before me this morning so when I came out tea was ready for me. When I opened the curtains, there to greet me was the Robin sitting on top of the garage door, moss in beak. He must know where to find it, because he went off and came back with more.

Fantastic football match last nigh Barcelona were 4-1 down from the fist leg and ended up winning 6-5. they scored twice in the last few minutes.

After being a bit of an A H the other night I have ordered flowers for Ros. They should be here later today. She want's me to go shopping with her later. So I will have to delay as long as I can. Then if they aren't here put a note on the door (without her knowing) to leave them next door.

Toast and tea just arrived, so will go and have that and speak later,

Morning Gill and All

Washing here too Gill.I have a load in at the moment and want to get it out on the line as it is a lovely morning.
Then we will be off to Northampton for lunch and theatre. Chris has gone to the tip with a load of old tins of paint.
I must remember to do this test on the cylinder before we go out. Ive turned off the water and heating and have to wait for pipes to cool down. Then turn the heating back on ,but not the water. Then I have to wait a while and then check that one pipe is hot and another cold.It the cold one is hot then there is a problem with some box.If it stays cold then the Plumber said there is nothing else he can physically check so he will then phone the cylinder people.

Have a good day everyone. See you later today.

GOOD morning,

We have some sunshine. Oh has taken all the gutters down on the front of the bungalow and washed them before putting them back up. He has washed the front with the pressure washer and my car. We get lots of moss grow on the tiles and it gets into the gutters so he has bought some brushes to fit in them to stop the mos and leaves bunging them up. Now to see if they work!!

Washing is on the line so I hope it dos'nt make the sun go away.

Must feed the wild birds next as their feeders need topping up.

Its nice to watch the birds building their nest Frank and you have the babies to look forward to.
