Pleased to hear the Robin is still building her nest Frank and hasn't decided to go elsewhere. How is the Blackbird doing......still making a mess ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
That's a bit of a palaver Jane, with the cylinder hope it all works out so it can be fixed for you. Enjoy your day out hope the weather stays nice for you.
So you have the sun at last Mel, let's hope it sticks around for you.
Mum is on her way to visit us, she'll be here in a minute. BBL

Sun is still out and oh is washing the other side of my car. What a sweetie! :-D It certainly needed it with all the mud and muck on the roads around here. The tractors are out and about in and out of the fields so they make a terrible mess then you have to drive through it in your car.
I need to go to Mole Valley for some chicken food but if I go late I could bring fish and chips home.....HHmmmm

We are home from shopping. I have been dragged from Lldl's to Tesco's and somewhere else that I can't remember. I know now where the money goes.!!! We didn't seem to have that much either. JUST REMEMBERED we went to Wyevale Garden Centre, to replace the plants she pulled up yesterday, together with other plants and bulbs, including her favourite ORCHIDS. She bought THREE.
Haven't checked with the neighbours to see if the flowers arrived. Now they can see the cars back they might bring them round.
I am having a tray of Whitebait with brown bread and butter for my tea tonight. Dos has a lamb steak and she will do a bit of veg and spuds.
What a beautiful day we have had. Sunshine and very warm behind glass in the car. It's starting to cool now, so no doubt we will need the heating on later. Glad you saw a bit of S/Shine Mel. Not a bad idea F & C for tea/dinner. Save cooking !!!
I wonder how Madam Jane got on the the theatre this afternoon. After her Italian I don't suppose she will want much to eat tonight.
Pity about not being able to get your lawns cut Gill, with this fine weather they will start growing like mad. I hope you enjoyed your Mum's visit. ;-) ;-) ;-)
COT time and a read of the paper. See you all later, enjoy the weather everyone, while it lasts. <3 <3 <3

Neighbours haven't received any delivery for me. Just checked the order. It can be delivered up to 8.00pm this evening. I hope that haven't been lying around all day somewhere.
Pam (nice neighbour) hasn't seen the blackbird flying into the garage, The Robin has been none stop from what she said. I will pop out later to see how things are.
In Llidl I bought a pair of Reading glasses £2.50 with a case. I could read the instructions well enough. They might come in useful until I go for an eye test on the 13th March. Ros has put in the new plants, I think they will need a little water to bed them in. That can be a job for me soon, before it gets dark.
Bough a bottle of Red today, so I will enjoy that later this evening (only two glass's) lol
Starting to feel peckish, so I will get the whitebait cooked, squeeze of lemon and Bread and butter. That will be enough for me tonight. Dos is just doing her VEG. !!!

OH did the lawns today Frank, he did the back one before he went out and then the front one when he came back home. The garden looks much better now and my mum commented on how tidy it was looking. It sounds like you've had a busy day today, out in the lovely weather. So the Robin is still busy with her nest, it amazes me how secure they are and just the right size for the eggs, even though they don't know how many there are going to be.
That was nice of your OH to wash your car Mel, pleased to hear you still have the sunshine, makes a pleasant change from all the rain you've been having lately. Don't worry according to the weather forecast we're getting the rain tomorrow, so hopefully you'll have the sun again :-) We're having fish and chips tonight but home cooked not from the chip shop.
Well, I'd better make a start on dinner then settle down for the evening. It looks like most of us are having fish tonight ;-)

Evening all,
It's been a beautiful day wall to wall sunshine and very warm we sat out again this morning and nearly didn't hear the door bell ,it was the log delivery which should have been here about one o'clock ,i rang son to say it was here early and they came to help us barrow it round the back . Once that was done we treated them to lunch out so no cooking tonight .
Having a trip out might help you to sleep well tonight Frank plus the couple of glasses of red ;-) :-D That's a good idea getting those reading glasses they will tied you over until you can get your new ones ,i have seen them in the pound shop too .
So your lawns have had their first cut then Gill ,Colin did say he was going to do ours today but with the logs coming early then going out he didn't get round to it , we need to buy a new mower as this petrol one has rusted out near the handle and the handle moves as you use it ,i think Colin said the next one he gets will be an electric one .
How did you get on with the testing Jane ? will it be a big job if you need another new cylinder ?
That was good of OH to give your car a clean Mel , hope you have messed it up again going to Mole Valley for the chicken food. Any relief at all from the itching ? is it still bad or has it eased a little ?

Thanks Mandy for the picture, you're right they do look cute. You've done a smashing job on their outfits......they look very professional :-) :-)
Yes the lawns are done but I should imagine if we have more rain and then sun it won't be long before they need dong again. The only problem is the tree stump OH cut down now sticks up above the grass, it looked okay when the grass was longer, so he's going to cut it down a bit more as he said it was difficult to cut the grass around it. I said if he cuts it below ground level then I'll pop some grass seed down, then we'll never know it was ever there and he'll be able to cut the grass properly in future.
We have an electric mower which is brilliant, it has a grass box too, so no raking up the loose grass. So you are sorted with your logs now? That was nice of your son to help barrow it around the back, much quicker with everyone mucking in.
I've got a phone call to make so better do it before the soaps start. Hope the weather was kind to everyone today :-)

Evening All
What a lovely time we had.The meal was really good.I had my favourite starter of Mozzarella and Tomato with plenty of Basil and then a really delicious Chicken and Mushroom Risotto.Chris was watching his waistline and had a bowl of Olives ,and a Caesar Salad. Both of us had a large glass of wine. Then as we had plenty of time left we walked down to the Derngate to a lovely bar and had a coffee.Chris had a large slice of Caramel Sponge cake LOL. Then an ice cream in the interval in the theatre !! So bang went his calorie counting. The play was really good.Very funny.Lisa Goddard had the main part .She was brilliant. I had forgotten that she had been married to Alvin Stardust at one time. So all in all a lovely afternoon.
Frank have the flowers arrived yet?. You are a good sport.Ros will be thrilled. I must tell Chris and remind him what he could do after being an A H :-D :-D :-D.I think though it would fall on deaf ears. Talking of deaf ears.I think last night he probably wished he was deaf as he said he came to bed and I was snoring away.He put up with it for about an hour and then decamped to Hannah's bed with his pillows. He could still hear me snoring there !!!!!! I must have gone out like a light as I didn't even know he had been to bed.I woke in the night and just assumed he thought he fancied an undisturbed sleep in the other bed.So I must have been pretty bad.He said he poked and shoved me but it made no difference. I slept like a log :-D :-D
Mel that was nice to have your car cleaned for you.Mine isn't too bad at the moment, but when it needs doing I take it to the people at Tesco and have it done while I shop. They do a darned good job.
Gill,I bet you felt good when your Mum commented on how lovely your garden is looking :-D.I can't wait until our lawn can be cut.Its not that long yet . Needs to be de mossed first though. Our front drive is very mossy around the front of the house too.I don't think I have ever seen it as bad as this. So the Wet and Forget will used soon.
I did the test thing on the cylinder and think that the problem is to do with the sliver box thing. The pipe that should have stayed cold was boiling hot so it is possibly the mechanism in the box that is at fault. I hope that is the case and not something internal in the cylinder. Tony (the plumber ) said he should be here about 9 tomorrow once he has been to the supplier to get the new shower fitting. He will do that first and then have a look at the cylinder. Chris will have to make sure he has the coffee pot ready as Tony does love the 'proper' coffee Chris makes :-D James still hasn't left work,so I can't put his curry in yet. Looks like a very late dinner again for him. He is taking the day off tomorrow as he is going down to Jess and then they will be meeting up in the evening in London with Hannah and friends for Hannah's birthday bash.
I don't think I shall be eating anything much tonight.Maybe just a Banana before I go to bed.I still feel full from lunchtime.
It feels very strange not being able to ring my Sister for a natter. She has only been away for a week ,but it feels so much longer.I think they must be at sea now as I haven't heard any more from her. They will both be nice and relaxed by now :-D
I must have a look and see what is on the box tonight.
Mandy, those girls of yours look just the part :-D :-D. Fantastic costumes.Well done you :-D :-D

Sounds as if you had a good time Jane , Well at least Chris started of with good intentions :-D .Lisa Goddard lives in Swanton Morley just a few miles from us .
It's really cold out now and the moon looks so bright tonight .
We had the police helicopter about today ,a man has gone on the run after being stopped by the police ,two other men in the car were arrested but this chap kicked a policeman in the groin and in the head and then made off.

It sounds like you've had a great day out Jane. I did giggle when you told us what Chris ate after his lunch, so much for watching his waistline LOL :-D :-D :-D So the pipe was hot instead of cold, let's hope it can be fixed and doesn't cost you to much. At least he's coming round early tomorrow so with a bit of luck it'll all be sorted soon.
Yes it did feel good when mum commented on the garden, it made all the hard work worthwhile.

I hope they catch the one on the run Mandy.Sounds a nasty bit of work.Hopefully the policeman he attacked is ok. We googled Lisa Goddard when we got home and saw she lives in Norfolk.I thought she was older than she is. 67.Not that she looked older, but the fact she has been around for a very long time. She looks pretty damned good. She had to to a fair bit of climbing around on high props in this play.(on the top of a roof). So she must be pretty fit, with no dodgy knees or hips LOL
Clear night here too with the moon really bright. It does feel a lot colder out there now.Today was really warm.I think about 16 degs. Quite tropical !!!!!
Gill you should be proud of yourselves for all the hard work you have put in on your garden. :-D :-D
Chris is just having a Yoghurt tonight LOL..I didn't make any comment when he had the big slice of cake as I knew he wasn't 'full' from what he had for lunch. As for the ice cream. He is a bit like a child when it comes to the interval, he has to go to the lady with the tray of ice-creams :-D :-D.I think it might be because as a child he never had the opportunity to do that. There are lots of things he does which might seem ridiculous, but it just all stems back to a horrible early childhood where he had nothing nice like other children. Eastenders now for me :-)

Good evening all
Haven't had chance to get on here sooner as Ruby keeps wanting to get on my lap for a cuddle as soon as I sit down. Sainsburys delivered this morning so she was in her cage while I sorted all the shopping and put it away, She has been a lot quieter today but eating well so hopefully she is feeling ok
Jane it sounds like you had a very enjoyable day with a lovely meal and a good entertaining play, Chris must have looked forward to his ice cream in the interval.
I can remember my Mum and Dad's boxer after he died kept looking for him in their bungalow. It's so sad when this happens, Amy didn't have this reaction with Peter being affected so badly with the brain tumour he wasn't paying her any attention during this time.
Mandy please may I see the photos of the girls in the costumes you made them. I hope they catch the scum bag that kicked the policeman there are some dreadful people about I hope they catch him and the poor man is recovering from the attack. Amy's cage also had a crack in the bottom, I think you get that with heavier dogs, she had a dog bed that fitted well in the bottom of it. Ruby's bedroom cage came with a soft mattress but it is quite a small cage.
Frank ,did Ros receive her flowers, it must have been a lovely surprise for her, you are a very good husband, not many men would do that most wouldn't even apologise.
Gill how nice that your garden has been appreciated by your Mum, mine needs a bit of attention at the moment as Ruby keeps me busy and when she is in her cage there are things in the house to do, thankfully the bulbs help to brighten it up.
Mel that was kind of your OH. washing your car for you, I expect living in the country tractors are one of the few down sides, I was brought up in the country until I was six and would still prefer to live there if I was able to.
Ann like everyone else I had a chuckle at your OH'S antics before you were even out of bed, like you I am not a morning person and just like to be quiet until I have had my first cuppa

Evening All,
Another lovely sunny day and very warm here too. Thanks for the photo Mandy.......you made a cracking job of the girls' outfits and they really look the part! The aprons will come in handy for anything messy they do as well and keep their clothes clean. ;-) The police helicopters are very useful at finding people these days so I hope they catch the man.
Sounds like you had a great time Jane and I had to smile at Chris watching his waistline............watching it grow was he!! lol ;-) We went to the bistro place today for OH's birthday tomorrow. It would be too late after beading tomorrow to have gone. It sounds like it will be a problem with the pipes after what you had tried so that should be less upheaval than changing the tank if it is which is good. It sounds strange to hear talk of tanks to me now as we have never had one since we moved here. I did miss the airing cupboard at first though.
It was nice of your mum to appreciate what you have done in the garden Gill. I bet it looked smart after the mower had been over the lawn.
Are the itches any less Mel? Your OH was good washing your car. Mine has never done that!

Morning all
Another bright day today, although it does look like we've had a spot or two of rain in the night.
Oh the poor policeman Mandy, I hope he's okay. What is the world coming too, what's happened to the days when people respected the police? Let's hope they catch him soon, you don't want someone like that running around.
Hope the flowers arrived in the end Frank and Ros was pleased with them.
Yes bulbs are great aren't they Anne, especially at the start of spring when the garden's not looking it's best after the winter. Like you say they brighten the place up. I'm sure you'll sort your garden out in time. Just a little a day can make all the difference over time. Maybe when Ruby can run around outside you'll be able to do a few things.
Happy birthday to Gordon, hope he has a nice day and the weather is kind to you. What are you doing at your beading class at the moment Ann?
The plumber should be at yours now Jane. I'll keep my fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you.
Hope the itching is better today Mel <3
OH has dropped the car off for it's MOT before work today, we're not expecting it to pass, but hopefully it won't cost us to much to sort out. We don't want to spend a lot as we're hoping to change the car this year.
Nothing much planned for today, Sandra is still asleep so I might grab a cuppa and take another look at my family tree while it's quiet. See you all later

Dry this morning but not that bright. Oh is out trying to mow the grass again. Don't know how he will get on till he comes in. If he carries on I suppose it is not too wet to do.
You had a lovely day out yesterday Jane and I did laugh about the cake and icecream!
Gill you will have to be careful with the tree stump as it may grow this year. You will just have to cut off any new branches that sprout.

Good morning Ladies, Evening Kim,
The flowers arrived at about 7.30. All boxed up. I took the box into the lounge and announced "A Delivery for Mrs. Bedford" She said who is sending me something. When she opened them and the card she started to laugh. The card read"sorry for being a pain in the backside" love as always, Frank. She put the in a vase and put them on a small table. She actually came and gave me a KISS !!! So peace reigns in the household.!!!!
I had my whitebait for tea, with lemon squeezed over them and B & B. I even did a second lot. Boy did I enjoy them, and all through the bloody night as well. This morning I went straight for the Listerine(sp) Mouth wash. Even before my cot.
Glad you enjoyed the Theatre Jane, and Chris couldn't resist the cake and ice cream. I must admit, like Chris I never hd those sort of things as a child, and I think this is why I am not bothered with them now. :-P :-P I hope the plumber has sorted the heating problem, and without any great expense. Have you considered getting "GREEN THUMB" out to look at your moss problem, and give you a quote. I get my lawns treated four times a year FEED AND WEED for £5.00 a month. I know it will cost a bit more with your BIG LAWN. but I can honestly say I have the best lawn around here.
Yes Gill it makes a great difference to how the garden looks after the first cut of the lawn's.
I bought a new 15 inch electric mower last year, it has 4/5 height setting, and is easy for Ros or I to use.
Madam has gone to have her nails done this morning So she we be out for a couple of hours.
Happy Birthday Gordon, the same day a Conrad's JAN'S I think she will be 62/63 today A lot older than Conrad, but they are so happy, so who am I to say anything. <3 <3 <3
Not a brilliant morning here, overcast and the wind seems to be back. How's things with you Mel ??
The photo's of RUBY and the GIRLS were great Thanks Anne and Mandy.
I had a word with Michael at the pub on Wednesday. Odd JOB Man. to see if he can come and put the glass in the greenhouse. I have all the new clips etc. but not sure I have the strength to lift and fit the glass. I would hate to have an accident. It's to bigger job for Ros to do also.
Going to sit on the bed now and look at the Robin. I don't think the blackbird has continued to build it's nest. I will look out for him also.

Happy birthday to Mandy's son and to Jan. Hope I haven't missed anyone out ;-) ;-)
You big softy Frank, pleased to hear all is sorted between you and Ros now. Good idea to get Michael to put the glass in the greenhouse, like you said you don't want any accidents. So the Robin is still hard at work building her nest and the Blackbird has given up. At least you won't have all the mess the Blackbird made anymore.
Yes I thought the stump might start growing again Mel, but if there is grass over the top then any new growth will be cut off when OH cuts the lawns.
The picture of Ruby didn't come through can anyone forward it to me please? Sandra was disappointed when she couldn't see it.
I've just been trying to teach Sandra how to put films on the planner, she's getting there but I'm not sure she'll remember next time. It'll take a few times of explaining things to her. At the moment she's getting carried away, so much so I've had to stop her as things were starting to clash, something else she didn't quite understand, but if I keep an eye on her she'll be alright and not disappointed when her choices don't record. I don't want that to happen as it will knock her confidence and she won't want to try again. At the moment she's happy so that's the main thing. <3

So many birthdays today ,including Hannah . So Happy Birthday to everyone <3 <3 <3
The Plumber has been and gone. I have British Gas coming now tomorrow as it appears to be a valve on the hot water (in this sliver box) that is not shutting off . We now have a new shower fitting which doesn't run and screech when water is run somewhere else :-D
I thought it was going to be a nice day ,but we have had that horrible drizzle for a while.
Thanks for the lovely pic Anne :-D :-D

I recorded Top of the Pops from 1983, I've had it on a series link for the last month, which we're watching now, it's great to hear all the old songs I grew up with, even Sandra knows a few of them from all my 80;s CD's I've got and played over the years. It's like a disco in our living room at the moment. Sandra is like me and loves music, so we're both enjoying it.

Well I have finally sat down. When I finished posting I went to get dinner ready. I have stuffed the chicken and got it ready for the oven. Prepared four veg's and Parsnips and potato's for roasting. As I haven't had any breakfast (AGAIN) I did a couple of rashers with Baked Beans on toast.
Ros has just come home, she called into see a friend, without telling me NAUGHTY GIRL. I do worry when she's out for so long, and I don't know where she is. Anyway she has bought more bird food and would you believe "FAT AND SEED CUP CAKES" yes CUP CAKES !!! :-D :-D :-D, more meal worms for the Robin. (they didn't show while I sat waiting for her/him this morning)
Ros is getting her lunch, the same as I had (COPY CAT) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Forgot HANNAH this morning. SORRY Lots of wishes for you my sweet.
Good that Sandra can have a bit of independence when choosing what to record, it will save you having to do it every time. I also like the old tunes but mine are the 50s/60s. lol lol
You are your water system Jane !! if it's not a leak it's something else. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Much cooler here today. Have just heard from John and Carolyn in Tenerife ,They have the wind coming from the Sahara Desert. Temp. over 35 degrees and theres a lot of dust in the wind, so that won't be good for John and his Chest.
