Evening all,
It's been a cloudy day here and started raining just after lunch ,son came this morning and swept the chimney for us ,there was about a pail full of soot so it did need doing ,the children went outside to see if they could see the brush at the top of the pot but with the cowl thingy on the top they couldn't see it . We heard all about Chelsea's trip ,she really had a great time ,her favorite thing was the climbing tower ,the weather was much better than when Jake went he came home with lots of muddy clothes but Chelsea's things were quite clean ,she had a camera so we saw all the photo's she took and there were quite a few .
Another Cauli dish Jane ,are the cauli's on offer LOL Your sister and BIL will be feeling the cold after the lovely sunshine ,it must have miserable coming home to rain after all the nice weather .
Hope Carmel managed to get out of bed today and is not in so much pain ,also that you managed to get a parking space .
Oh dear Ann it does sound as if your elderly neighbour is getting a bit deaf if she didn't hear you driving behind her ,thank goodness nothing came speeding round the bend when she was in the road . That silly girl on the wrong side of the road !!

I think it should be a prison offence for anyone driving a car, lorry, byke etc and having a phone stuck to their ear. Same with cyclist who have earphones in. Tehy are not aware of traffic around them the way they have them turne dup so loud everyone can here their music too.
Mandy I did ask if the queen had been to school yet?

Been to the hospital twice yesterday, 11am - 2.30pm - - 5.30pm - 8pm.. Carmel was sitting out when I got there and big adventure being wheeled of to do No 2's. A move in the right direction. She did feel a bit sick both yesterday afternoon and again today (Friday, Saturday) but it soon wore off. Did her hair for her and when I left she was ready to settle and looked a whole lot better than previous days, plus she had a calmness about her that had been missing. Another day tomorrow. It was lovely for her to have Siobhan, Ralph and Maggie visit today, much better than medicine. Jane, I won't tell Carmel you said she is old but we can both see the funny side. When I left her last night she seemed more like her old self and joked that with 6 'old' ladies in the ward, asleep most of the time, and unlike Carmel, without their own teeth - sometimes I'm not sure if I'm going into a ward or the morgue !!! I'm going up a bit later this morning as she said they are rushed off their feet first thing and I guess being weekend they run on a skeleton staff (no hospital pun intended!!). Tomorrow morning I have to be at the osteopaths at 10am then we have a cleaner come in for an hour a week now and she is here at 11pm, so I'll do the 'afternoon shift' tomorrow. I'm getting the logistics sorted out now and I got a weeks car parking for £15 so I don't have to worry about that. Siobhan arrived unexpectedly yesterday morning with our two wonderful g-grandkids, Ralph and Maggie and they were as good as gold and this was remarked on by one of the nurses. With two parents who are teachers, who wouldn't be? Siobhan brought treats, a 'goody bag' for Carmel and an enormous cottage pie for me which should last me all week. That's enough for now, must go and do my chores and have a late breakfast, bacon, mushrooms and some fried potato, that should keep me going until I get back. More next time and thanks for all your good wishes, you have no idea how it helps.

Good morning all, Evening Kim.
Nothing special about the weather. I haven't been out, but that wind looks cold.
Ros is just popping the Dyson around the lounge, she has dropped a pin while sewing last night and is worried one of us will tread on it. My slippers have thick rubber soles, whereas Ros's are thin leather. Hope we find it before someone gets it in their foot.
Cauliflower everywhere then Jane, you will be sick of the sight of it before long :-0 :-0 :-0
Didn't eat again last night or this morning. I just can't bring myself to get anything, Ros keeps offering to get me things, but I just refuse. Lets hope I eat my dinner today. I might enjoy it more, having someone cooking it for me.
I see of the local village FB notice board , that a lot of drivers are having too much to drink at the pub before driving home. What silly people they are. It won't be long before the police have a purge on them, then they will be sorry. I must admit, I see some drinking 4/6 pints before going to their cars :-( :-( :-(
I got a joint of beef out of the freezer yesterday morning. We will have that tomorrow night.
Glad to see Carmel is sitting out of bed Will. She won't feel so "OLD" doing that. <3 <3 Give her my kind regards.
Had a good night last night. I stayed up until midnight watching "DCI BANKS" it was a double episode. or I would have been in bed by 11.00 pm.
Radio is RUBBISH Saturday night. Paul Barnes plays old 20/30s songs and modern Jazz. I like something smoothing to get me off to sleep, ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros is in the shower, when she's out I will go in, then get my gay rags on, ready to go out at about 2.00 pm.
See you all later, have a good day.

Morning all,
So pleased to hear that Carmel is feeling more her self and sitting out of bed. It must be all the positive thoughts and wishes we are all sending her. How nice to see Ralph Maggie and Siobhan and be commented on how good the children were.
Dry here today but very windy. Looked at my watch when I woke up and read it as 9am. Up I got and put the kettle on for my morning cuppa water and milk and turned the pc on only to see it must have been a quarter to twelve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You LAZY old Bugg@@ Mel, As you have only been up for three quarters of an hour. What time did OH get up.??
All showered and shaved, Clean slacks and shirt on. All ready to go. starting to feel hungry now thinking of a lovely starter that they do. Followed by a nice plate roast meat and Veg.
You may remember me mentioning Carolyn's friend JEAN who has a big house with indoor swimming pool, Well she has had a heart attack while Carolyn was away. She left a message on Carolyn's Answer phone. Just her NAME AND NUMBER. I said to C that must have been when she had her Heart attack, and wanted someone to know. She did manage to contact her daughter, who called an Ambulance. She is home now, and on the road to recovery.
Sky is brighter now, so we might have a little ride around the lanes, before or after lunch.

Afternoon Everyone Great progress with Carmel ,in all ways :-D. Glad you new my comment about being old was just tongue in cheek William :-D.You must feel happier now seeing Carmel more her normal self. She is doing well. So Cottage pie for you for the next few days.It sounds jusy the right meal for heating up quickly in between your visits to the hospital.
Frank,I think I will give cauliflower a bit of a miss for a while.Well at least doing fancy recipes with it. Just plain boiled for a while .Lats nights risotto was really very tasty and full of lovely flavour but it was like a brick !!! :-S I almost had to cut it out of the dish LOL.
Good old Roast Beef ,Roast Potatoes ,Yorkshires etc tonight.I have just cooked the Beef and got all the pots and veg ready.James have popped out for lunch with his freind Alex .I hope he doesn't fill himself up too much ! I know someone who is full....... Thomas.... He was out on the tiles all night again.I gave up waiting for him at 10 pm.I spotted him in the Summerhouse at 7.30 when I got up for the loo. He has slept since then. Now stretched out on the carpet in a patch of sun. Mel I went back to sleep too this morning ,but was up by 10.I think I had been a bit restless in the night worrying about Thomas.
I had a look at Cromwell Cottage Frank. The menu looks just up my street.I am sure you will have a smashing meal.
Did the girls enjoy they do out yesterday Anne? I hope that Abbie is ok and things have settled now with her Mum and Stepdad. Is she still staying with you?
My Sister and Larry will be back at there own place now.I expect all the windows have been opened to get some fresh air in after the house being shut up for so long. They will be looking forward to picking the dogs up tomorrow. It will be a crazy house again then lol. No doubt they are seeing all the Grandchildren today.William will have missed them .He will be beside himself with excitement . I think this afternoon I might just do nothing.Maybe a bit of my colouring.I did the outside of the windows just now to get rid of all the muck that was splashed on them yesterday.
What are you up to today Gill?Hopefully the weather is better your way than it was yesterday. It is incredibly windy here. But so warm.Chris has been in the garden all morning and says his Fitbit shows he has walked over 2 miles and burned 3,000 calories !!!!!!!!. He has lost almost a stone in weight since Christmas.....Puts me to shame :-S...He is having Porridge for lunch.
Thomas has just stirred .I thought he might be on his way outside ,but he has just gone back to his bed :-| :-|

Very quiet here today. What have you all been up to?
2 hours of Vera tonight !!.I didn't realise it was a 2 hour one. I don't like them as I usually drop off right near the end :-S :-S...Then have to watch it again on catchup.
I think I have traumatised Thomas. Did his worm treatment on his neck while he was still half asleep.I haven't seen him since :-S.He shot away pretty swiftly with a look on his face saying"what the devil are you doing to me"
Chris has just called me to say Thomas is on the front drive,so I will get him in quickly before he disappears again for the night.(Don't know why Chris can't get him in)...I think he can't whistle as good as me :-D :-D
Dinner just about ready to be dished.

Evening all,
It's been quite a nice day little bit of sun now and then and not at all cold ,Colin has been making a new garden gate as the old one is just beginning to rot at the bottom ,so he has been sawing away .
Sister rang to say they had picked up Molly so of course i had to go and have a cuddle ,but all the time we were there she was fast asleep ,sister said she laid her down in the car and she slept all the way home ,i wonder if they are in for her being awake half the night !! She is a little porker much bigger than Max when he was eight weeks old ,nxt time i go i'll get some photo's .
Sounds as if Carmel is coming along nicely William and seeing the little ones must have made her day , doesn't look like you will be going hungry with the big cottage pie to eat up .
Hope you have enjoyed your meal out Frank and have managed to eat some thing ,makes a big difference having some one else cook and i think you fancy it more .
So Cauliflower is off the shopping list for a while then Jane :-D Funny how Thomas goes awol some nights i suppose if he gets the smell of a mouse he just carn't leave it and sits waiting for it to appear at least he has the summer house to kip in when he's had enough . Chris has done well losing a stone .
Mel you did have a lay in this morning ,i should think your OH came in to see if you were still breathing sleeping all that time :-D
No Gill ? i wonder if they have had a dry day and been busy in the garden .

evening all
Pleased to hear Carmel is making such good progress William and enjoyed having family visitors you must be feeling relieved for her. You have a thoughtful family making a shepherds pie for you to enjoy.
Mandy it sounds as if your sister has a puppy that travels well I hope she has a good night sleeps with her, I wonder what your lovely Max will make of her.
Paul and the girls had a good day in Windsor there is so much to do and see there, in the past we have had trips up the river and course visited the castle many times, one of the attractions for the girls was a shop called Creams which only serve puddings, a new one on me but apparently they also have one in Reading. Abbie is still staying with us at the moment she's no trouble but I think she should make it up with her Mum as I have mentioned to her. I also cooked roast beef, Yorkshire puds and veg today which went down well, tonight we are also watching Vera so recording the Antiques road show and the SS-GB final on BBC1. watched the final painting competition earlier and was pleased the one we liked best won she was such a talented young artist and should go far.
Richard has been a great help today cutting back a lot of the shrubs and sweeping up yet more leaves, hopefully weather permitting he can cut the front lawns and sort out the fish ponds, next weekend there was a dead gold fish in the bottom pond this morning,we have frogs in there as well so tadpoles later, they come back every year, I love seeing the baby frogs but not many survive..
Cats can be a worry Jane when they don't come home when you expect them to they are their own boss's when it suits them, it's good that he has the summer house to retire to when he is ready. Our two use to do that when they were younger but not so much now.
Hope you enjoyed your meal out Frank as you say it's sometimes more enjoyable when it is cooked for you and you can choose what to have on the day plus the added bonus of no washing up or clearing away.
Still no Gill or Ann, maybe they have had busy days, I can't remember when I last had a long lie in and I envy you Mel being able to, my trouble is I wake up about 7 and am wide awake next weekend the clocks go forward,

Evening All,
Good to hear things are good with Carmel Will. How nice she had a surprise visit from the grandchildren too. That will have perked her up a bit too I expect. The cottage pie was very thoughtful and will save you some time too.
I hope you managed to eat your meal Frank. It isn't like you to not have much appetite so see the doc if it carries on won't you. It is a shame if you can't fancy the lovely meals you cook.
Anne I wonder if an amorous frog has clamped itself round the goldfish's gills and suffocated it. I know it does happen.
We went to a different carvery today as we decided the usual one is a no no on a Sunday since the other nearer to us has become an upmarket Steakhouse and their clientelle has moved on to where we usually go. It means a trip to Lutterworth, but there is a nice quiet table there all on it's own in an alcove with only 2 other tables nearby. You can see the carvery from where you sit and can be first there so no queuing! We've not been on a Sunday before, but got there early and they started getting our teas and jug of water as soon as we walked in the door!! It turned out very well today so we'll do that again.......except on Mother's Day when we won't be out for lunch at all for a change as everywhere will be noisy and heaving with people! :-S
Still sorting my beads out but have made good progress again today with most of it finished now. I have found a few things I'd forgotten I had, but isn't that always the case when you have a sort out?
It's going to be fun and games round here next week with the roadworks on the main road. They are closing more of the road off at a junction that has been a diversion up to now and eased the traffic gridlock but made a mistake in the paper and said it will be closed from 8.00am to 6.00pm instead of 8.00pm to 6.00am!!
I was sad to see Chuck Berry has died even though he was aged 90. I have most of his music and remember playing it on cassette tapes when I was a teenager. He was my parent's generation I suppose but they seemed so much older than him and were what I would have called 'SQUARE' in the language of my youth!! lol. It was only a few months ago that I was watching a concert of his in 1972 on Sky in the early hours when I couldn't sleep. :-) It was brilliant!

Afternoon all,
Just starting to rain here ,it had been a nice morning with sunshine ,we off to do some shopping soon so i hope it eases up a little.
Hope your visit to the dentist goes ok Mel and you don't need any thing done ,sorry to hear your still itching , you would have thought the tablets would have eased it by now ,i think you should go back to the docs .
I rang my sister to see how Molly was over night and she was a good girl ,sister went down to her about six o'clock and she wanted to play , she tries to play with the puppy pads , sister has managed to catch her having a wee and poo and managed to put the pad under her to catch it , she's in the kitchen and it's a tiled floor so its easy to just wash it over, i know when Max was little i had the mop bucket to hand with the disenfectant in it ready to mop up .
Brightened up a little now so better get ready to go shopping .
