We actually have a bit of blue sky !!!!.Rain most of the morning . It has turned really nippy now.

Mel will be at the Dentist.Hope the check up all goes well today.

Ann,the new place in Lutterworth sounded very nice. Shame you have to travel further now for your Carvery. Looking forward to seing yuo tomorrow :-D :-D

Well young Molly sounded like she was a good girl last night Mandy.I bet the Puppy Pads are great to be dragged around and played with LOL.I'm sure she will soon get the hang of what they are actually meant for :-D :-D

I have actually made a start on my wardrobe sorting .Well not the clothes yet but all my shoes and boots. I have bagged up 2 pairs of boots,3 pairs of shoes and lots of sandals reasy to go off for the Charity bin.I probably should have been bit more ruthless and got rid of more, but you just never know when you might just want to wear a pair

No Frank yet today. I don'tthink we have heard from him yet as to how the lunch went yesterday.Hope he hasn't got a dicky tum :-S

Afternoon All,

Yes, looking forward to tomorrow Jane. :-) The forecast for tomorrow sounded good earlier so I hope they are right! I had a shoe sort out a few weeks ago........a couple of pairs went in the dustbin and the others are waiting for more stuff to be added to go to the charity shop as well. I have TOO MANY clothes and can barely get any more hangers on the rails in my wardrobes! The trouble is I don't like parting with things as I always think they'll do to do the HW or gardening in!!

That's great Molly was good last night Mandy. I expect everything is a potential toy in her eyes at the moment. Hard floors are much easier to clean up as you say. Could I see the pic of the 'Queen' too?

It poured here till after lunch. OH decided to walk up to the village and get the paper and got wet and his hat blew off!! Luckily it didn't go on the motorway as he was crossing the bridge. I half expected an SOS call from him for me to go and collect him but he managed without in the end.

Hope Mel got on ok at the dentist. Shouldn't you be going back to the docs with the itching Mel? You can't go on like this can you?

Evening all

Had a lovely weekend with OH and Sandra, didn't do much just relaxed together and watched a bit of TV and chatted. It's been so long since we had some quality time as a family. OH is taking the new car for it's service tomorrow then we're hoping to go and see his mum later in the week when he has his half a day off, he's working everyday right up to Mother's Day.

I've been feeling a bit under the weather today. I've had a dicky tummy and I'm feeling really tired, so think I might have an early night tonight.

I haven't read the posts yet so hope all is well with everyone.

Jane Report 20 Mar 2017 17:43

Mandy ,we haven't had any rain as heavy as that.!!.To be honest I thought we were going to get the heavy stuff, but that must have scooted past usand came to you.
Have I missed the Queen too?

Ann ,half the clothes in my wardrobe probably don't even fit me now

:-S :-S.When I told Chris I was going ot have a clear out and make room for some new clothes his face was a picture LOL.
Chris is a bit of a misery today.it usually means he is in pain but he won't say. Men!
Also he is yawning his head off.Says Thomas woke him up at 5.30 by meowing .He is right about that. I didn't shut him in the lounge last night. So it was me who had to get up to feed and let him out.
Just waiting to hear from James to let me know what time he wil be home so I know what time to get his dinner in. He has the left over Roast Beef in Gravy, and Rumplethump(I think that is what it's called). It is a bit like a Bubble and Squeak dish from Sainsbury. Chris and I will have Youngs Basa Fillets with Lemon and Herb crust.
I think that is the one that Anne likes. Then to go with ,it is Parmentier potaoes and Broccoli and Peas.
No cooking for me tomorrow :-D :-D.. I will still be full from lunch with Ann and Fitz.
Must remember not to have much for breakfast as it is a very early lunch booking.

Mel if you are still itching so badly maybe a phone call to the Dr might be an idea and she can say whether or not you should go back again before your 2 month appointment.

I wonder how Carmel is doing today? Hopefully getting stronger again and beginning to be a bit mobile.

Frank Report 20 Mar 2017 21:42

Evening all,

Where do I start. Yesterday we left home 2.00 pm to give us plenty of time to get to the restaurant. Ros decided to go the back way. As we went round by the church in Gayton a car came towards us in the middle of the road. Ros swerved to the left and hit a GRANITE KERB. As soon as possible I told her to pull over so I could see any damage to the tyre. It had BURST, a big hole in the side wall. That's all I needed. I rang the RAC and was told they should be with us by 4.00 pm. We were lucky we had a call and the chap said he would be with us by 3.30 pm. We telephoned the restaurant and told them what had happened, and said we would get there when we could. The RAC man was very good and changed the Alloy for the steel spare wheel. We arrived at the restaurant about 4.15. They hd a table for two waiting for us.

The meal was very good apart from only CARROT AND CABBAGE as vegetables. But the beef and roasts were perfect with a massive Yorkshire pudding. We got home about 6.00 pm. We just sat and wound down after a hectic afternoon.

I was in bed by 10.30 pm. The local radio (KEITH SKEWS) played all Vera Lynns (sp) Records from 11.00 to midnight. So I laid there and remembered lying under the Morrison Shelter, during the war listening to her records. I was in a different world.

This morning I had to be at spec-savers at 11.20 to pick up my new glass's and have the drops put in my eyes. It poured with rain, so much the the roads were flooding. I was late getting there, so went straight in and had my drops. Needless to say, when I came out from that I couldn't see a Bloody thing. I picked up my new glass's without being able to test them. I tried them about an hour ago, and everything is a blurred as hell. So if they are no better by the morning, they will be going back. We had continues rain for two and a half hours. We then went and had a new tyre fitted before coming home.It was one that was fitted only a few moths ago, so I was not too pleased. So to say the least the last couple of days haven't been my best, or cheapest.

The sun came out after we got home, and had to draw the back curtains to stop the glare of the SUN.

Nice to see that you all have been busy, and you are all well. Will try to catch up on the posts tomorrow.

Early night for me tonight. Sleep tight, and GOD bless.

BROADCHURCH is on, I haven't seen any of the series, so no point in starting now.

Could'nt go to sleep last night. I was so tired but lay awake for donkeys yonks.

Got on ok at the dentists. he poked and prodded a bit around my remaining teeth and told me I had been keeping them nice and clean. what a good girl I am!! :-D He told me if I have to have a tooth out at a later date that they could be put on my existing plate so thats goo. I asked at the desk for the brush heads for my leccy toothbrush and she passed me some but I said they were not the ones I have. I did'nt want the ones with bits of rubber in them. She told me they must have upgraded them to these. I left them. Then I went into the village to the chemist to have a look in there. They had them, £9.99 for four so I bought two packs. At the till the lad said if I spend a little more making it over £20 I could have a five pound voucher as the offer ends tomorrow. I had another pack so I am now well and truely stocked up on tooth brushes for the next two to three years.I just hope I don't have to have any more of my teeth out otherwise it will be a bad buy with no more teeth to clean I shall be passing them on to someone else.

Went to Lidl afterwards and did the shopping so I should get through next week ok. the only thing I can't get in there is Plenty rolls so I may have to try for them somewhere else. Perhaps go into Holsworthy. I have a stock of oh's cider to keep him happy.

It is good that Carmel is getting out of bed now and I hope she continues to progress well. Sending love and wishes to her and to our Liz.

Going to watch Broadchurch now so will say good night and see you all in the morning.

Morning all

No Jane it's not snowing here, I think it's further up the country nearer Scotland. We have sun, but like you, it's very breezy. Hope you Ann and Fitz have a lovely time together today and the sun stays out for you all.

I'm feeling much better today and have had a good lie in, so plenty of sleep which seems to have done the trick.

It sounds like you had a day and half the other day Frank, hope things are better for you now.

What an eventful day with your teeth Mel, you did well with the brush heads, plenty to keep you going for a while yet.

Pleased to see Carmel is starting to improve William and lots of visitor too, that'll cheer her up.

Your poor neighbour Ann, it does sound like she's going deaf, good job no cars came whizzing around the corner and she made it home safe and sound.

I hope you have the sun too Mandy for your shopping trip today, there's nothing worse than going around the shop in the rain. It sounds like Chelsea had a great time on her trip and didn't get to muddy like Jake did. So your sister has Molly now, Sandra and I would love to see some pictures when you take them.

Going to get a cuppa now then finish off watching the last few programmes on the planner, ready to record the F1. I'm really looking forward to the new season.
Don't forget everyone the clocks go forward an hour this weekend <3

Morning all,

Have a great day Jane and Ann and don't hold back on whatever you fancy.

Sun is out here too and its a beautiful day with a breeze and the washing is on the line and another load in the machine.

Woke up once for the loo last night and when I looked at my watch to see what time it was the hands looked like they had been tied in a knot!! I did'nt have my glasses on so I could'nt tell you what time I got up but it must have been about knot o'clock. Maybe some of you have that time on your wrist watches too?

So we know where Jane and Ann are today what are you other lot doing?

I'll tell you what I'm NOT doing today and thats shopping........Hooray.

Clean the big girls out I think while its quite nice.

Good morning all, Evening Kim,

Just noticed that when I tried my NEW GLASS'S on they are as blurred as can be. I tried them yesterday, and put it down to the drops I had in my eyes. But they are no better this morning, so another trip to spec savers to have my eyes tested again. I think they have given me someone else prescription.

I have tried to renew my EHIC this morning. One site wants to charge £35.00. so I telephoned. After being on hold for half an hour I gave up. I tried on line again and another site charge £5.00. I thought this was a free service. ???

I expect Jane is on her was to meet Ann. I hope they enjoy their lunch and a good chat (rabbit, rabbit, rabbit) LOL LOL.

Nice sunny morning here, Ros has gone with Carolyn to hospital. She has a check up on her kidneys from a few months ago. I expect they will go off shopping afterwards. So I am HOME ALONE.

Gill if you get a chance get Sandra to watch yesterdays BBC 2 of David Attenborough, It's all about the Great Barrier Reef. I am sure she will love to see all the different fish.

I slept well, considering all the grief of yesterday. Having a nice quiet day today.

Anne Report 21 Mar 2017 12:52

Good afternoon all

I hope Jane, Ann & Fitz have a good catch up today and enjoy their meal together.

How annoying about your glasses Frank it most certainly sounds as if you have been given the wrong prescription. Nice to hear you had another good nights sleep. That was a nasty shock with the car tyre thankfully no one was hurt that is the trouble with narrow roads, we had plenty of those when we were in Sussex.

I have just made a Greek lamb pasta bake for tonight's meal so I only have to pop it in the microwave later. I also did my online shopping list for Thursday, Jane's post reminded me to get the Youngs Basa fillets, we really like those.
Ruby has been asleep in Amy's old built in bed in the kitchen she didn't need the cage but jumped in there by herself.

Your sister's new puppy was good sleeping all night Mandy, I hope she continues to do so, the same as Ruby. May I see a photo of your little Queen to please.

Mel, the little Boston purse you gave me is very handy to take Ruby's treats in, at the moment I have to bribe her even to get out of the front door for a walk and then we aren't getting far but it's early days yet,

Abbie at the moment has made it up with her Mum but is staying here until Friday as her Mum works during the week .

Just had a post card from Colin it's of Aix en Provence he stopped there on a trip from Marseille to Nice, I hope I've got this right as his writing is appalling

Frank

Frank Report 21 Mar 2017 14:50

Ann is Colin Left handed. I am and have never had need handwriting. In infants school I sat beside my twin sister who was right handed and her writing just flowed from the pen, where as min looked like s SPIDER had crawled across the paper. They even tried tying my left hand behind my back, and making me use my right hand. It wouldn't happen today, but in the early 40s they did as they liked . ;-) ;-)

Still on my own. I had a Vegetable soup for lunch with a couple of slices, and a vienesse whirl (sp) which I haven't had for years.

No idea what to do with the cold beef, either mash and veg. or chips and pickle. See what madam says IF AND WHEN she comes home.

Ready for a COT. so might pop back later. WHERE is everyone ???

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Mar 2017 15:10

Frank whats EHIC????

Those glasses do sound as though they are completely wrong for you. As you did'nt get them tested when you picked them up that was'nt good at all. They may just need the arms adjusting so you look through the right bit of the lens.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Mar 2017 15:14

Frank you know where everyone is today...... Jane is out with Ann so we are not getting any post from either of those two.

My washing has been in and out twice as it keeps raining then stopping again and the sun comes back out. I have left it out now as I want to get on with ohter things.

They had a covering of snow on Dartmoor last night.

Anne Report 21 Mar 2017 16:05

Colin isn't left handed Frank but always seems to be in a hurry.he's 70 now so I don't know how much longer he will continue doing all the travelling and lecturing he does but I do know he enjoys doing it.

Mel. EHIC stands for European Health Insurance Card, a good idea to have one when travelling abroad
