Morning Mel ,morning all,
Bit cloudy here this morning and we've just had a little rain ,as it was cloudy i've cleaned the inside of the conservatory windows which is a lot easier to do without the sun through the glass and i must say they do look better .
Glad to see Frank is home i expect we will hear all about his time away later.
Max is fast asleep and I'm just having a coffee then I'll find another job a bit of ironing next i think .

Good morning to you all, evening Kim,
I don't know what happened to my post last night. I went into great retail of our trip down and what we got up to while away. I see this morning that nothing went through.
We had a great drive down until Bristol, then we ran into the rain for the next two hours. Not only the rain but all the spray, Ros was tired out by the time we got there with all the concentration.I was in bed by 9.00 pm and slept for 12 hours. Friday we woke to more rain, so I stayed in doors while the girls popped out to do a bit of shopping. In the evening they drove to the airport to pick up Conrad. I was in bed and asleep by the time they got back. Saturday morning was much better with sunshine and dry, even though the wind was strong and cold. I ventured out for a walk along the sea front, and ended up at the Harbour Inn for a couple of pints. When I got home 2.00 pm, they had been out looking for me as they wanted to go to the Shrimp/prawn restaurant for lunch. So that didn't happen. MY FAULT. In the evening I wanted to take them out for a meal, but Conrad said he preferred a Indian Takeaway. So that's what we had as a treat on me.
Sunday (Mothers day) We had a call from Harvey for his Mum. He asked if she had received her flowers. NO.!!! Later he rang again to tell us the florists had tried to deliver at 8.30. 9.00 and 9.30. but couldn't get through the gate. Conrad went and opened it and the delivery was made about an hour later.
We were at the 12th Century Manor House at 1.45 pm (LUNCH was at 2.00 pm) They showed us to a table just inside the restaurant by the main entrance with double doors to the outside, with a gale force wind blowing right at us. (GOOD START). After requisition another table we were moved. FOURTY FIVE MINUTES LATER) they came to take our drinks order. That took a further 20 minutes to come. By the time they took our order and we had eaten it was 5.15 pm. OVER THREE HOURS. I was fuming and had a right go at the staff and management. All I managed to get was "SORRY" I made it quite clear that under no circumstance would I be eating there again. Conrad just paid the bill without a word of complaint. Not like his dad.
Jo, Jan's daughter asked if we would have JJ next weekend as her, Jan and Ella were visiting Kerry at Weldon (CORBY) and she won't have dogs in the house. We of course said YES. She then said would you like to take him home with you tomorrow Tuesday. Which we did. He has been a little darling. If the day brightens later I will take him for a walk. But he likes to chase around the garden, even though it it wet.
Both Ros and I slept like LOGS last night. I until 9.00 am and Ros until 10.00 am. JJ went in the back garden for a wee. and has been sleeping in the armchair since.
It's time I got showered and shaved and sort out what we are having for dinner tonight. So will say thanks to you all for missing us. I didn't take my mac book with me as you can see,

Well you're a nuaghty boy leaving your Mac book at home as we have all been wondering if you were both safe with such a long journey. Smacked hands and don't do that to us again. :-| :-| :-|
I did tell you to take warm clothing with you as we had been living with that cold wind for weeks. I told you about the rain too but I am glad you had a better day on Saturday.
Well not done a thing today except a bit of beading and the lunch. I did sort a lot of beads that had been left on my tray from other projects and put them all away so I suppose thats a good thing. When you start beading something you don't realize just how many things you get out till you have to put them all away again.

Hi Mel,
Likewise not done anything today except shower and shave and get dinner ready for tonight.
Have been looking at trips to the Yorkshire Dales in May/June. But at almost £400.00 for 5 days they can keep them. It might be an idea for us to drive up and stay B & B where ever we end up.There must be plenty of B & Bs and pubs for meals, the only trouble is all the driving for Ros.
The neighbours tell us that the ROBIN is still going in and out of the garage, but the Bloody cats are still hanging around. They keep going out to scare them away. I will have to keep my eyes open, and shoo them away.
Ros has been to Tesco. JJ has been sitting on the back of the armchair looking for her. When the car pulled in the drive, he could hardly contain himself to get out to see her. He's now sitting watching her eating a sandwich.
Pork steaks, roast Parsnips and potato's with carrots, Broccoli & swede. I have made a lovely onion gravy that Jan made the other night. Fried chopped onions in butter. Bisto, Oxo and a drop of red wine mixed into the onions when cooked. It smells lush and it tastes alright too. !!!
Dull, horrible afternoon here, so I won't be going walks today. I have a couple of little jobs to do for Ros. With the rain last night, everywhere is to wet to cut the lawns, so hope for better tomorrow.
Hows your hands Jane ??Keeping them dry and creamed I hope. xx
I have just ordered a load of plug plants for Madam, so that will keep her busy when they arrive next week.

Evening All Glad to see you back home safe and sound Frank and with a little companion for a few days too :-D. So the meal at the posh place was a bit of a disaster .I'm not surprised you asked to be moved to another table. You must have been frozen everytime the big doors opened. SErvice was a bit slack too by the sound of things. One of the reasons we never eat out on Mothers day is that everywhere is so busy with families service is never the best. Fancy having the search party out looking for you.Did that not happen before, when you didn't have a key? Poor Ros driving in that awful weather.Especially around the Bristol Area of the M5.It is always so busy there. Bet you are both glad to be home again and in your own bed.
My fingers aren't so sore today ,but my scalp has been driving me nuts.I am a bit worried about one of my little nails. It looks like it is lifting off the nail bed :-S. I don't want to lose it :-(
Mandy ,you seem to be the only one to be doing any kind of housework today. It is satisfying to see the windows nice and clean though. No smears? I never seem to get away without leaving smears even though the spray says NON SMEAR.They lie :-|
Thomas has been a hunting all day. Yesterday was the same .All his own food is still sitting in his dishes. He has crashed out big time in the summerhouse. No doubt I will have to carry him in LOL. The Rabbit population surely must be a bit depleted. I just hope he doesn't think Benjy is a bunny when he arrives !!!!. He can't be much bigger than a big rabbit.
Dinner is Lincolnshire and Pork Sausages ,Garlic and Herb Potatoes, and a lovely big pan of fried Sprouts, Leeks, lardons ,mushrooms .James will have to pick out his Sprouts. Looks a bit spitty outside now. I have a feeling we might have overnight rain.

No smears Jane as i use the window vac they are really good . The cream must be helping your fingers then ,did you say it was psoriasis on your scalp ? Colin had a touch of that and the hairdresser told him to use T Gel shampoo the clear one not the one with coal tar ,since he's used that he's had no more trouble ,i know he said how itchy his scalp was . Is it a finger nail thats loose or a toe nail ? i had one of my toe nails come off ,i was drying my feet and thought what ever is wrong with my toenail it just wiped off with the towel and the new nail was growing under neath , i must have stubbed it some time and broke the nail from the bed .
What a journey you both had Frank ,i think Ros does so well driving on those busy roads i know i wouldn't be keen doing it no wonder you were both tired it's quite a strain having to concentrate on driving in the rain . I shouldn't think any one would want to sit in the draughty doorway why do they put a table there right near the door i don't blame you asking to move , that was a long time to wait ,was the meal good ? Thats nice having little JJ with you again ,i suppose he thinks it's his second home now :-)
What are you making now Mel with the beading ?

Mandy, just sent you 2 pics. I have been using the TGel shampoo .But it did nothing. It is a steroid based lotion I have for my scalp now.Same with the creams. All Steroid based .Normally nothing itches but today my scalp has. I took an antihistamine which has helped calm things. I remember you losing your toenail.

Your nails do look like they are dying Jane ,it's nothing to do with that Gel nail varnish you had on is it ? only i know my sister had false nails put on and her nails went like yours just like they were dying ,it took all the top coating off her nails and she never had it done again ,i think the nails need to breath if that makes sense ,they say you should have a break from nail varnish and not wear it to much .
And talking of antihistamines i thought of you yesterday when we went to the farm to get eggs the field next to the farm had the Rapeseed coming into flower !! i have had itchy eyes or a few days now so i think i might start talking my hay fever tablets.

Mandy it was a few years ago I had the gel nail varnish, and that was for only 2 weeks.I have never had false nails. Nope. This is Psoriasis Nails :-( :-(..Look gross don't they :-S :-S
Thomas is driving me round the bend.He is desperate to go out again.Bunnies on the brain I think.I just noticed today that wall paper is shredded by the back door :-S :-S Little B****r.At least it is where no-one can see.
I don't think we will have so much trouble with the Rapeseed as the big field (opposite) it is usually grown in has all the lorries going through from Anglian water putting big pipes in.Fields just across the other side of the A14 have now been dug up and a small industrial estate is being built. It will be interesting .I hadn't thought about the Rapeseed problem.

Little devil Thomas shredding the wallpaper ,our dog Bonnie took the wallpaper off in the kitchen ,we had been out and when we came home she had that look , it wasn't me !! the paper was off half way up the wall she'd had a good old time with it .
Raining here now .

Mel the hairdresser told me to get the clear T Gel because Colin's hair is white rather than grey and the coal tar one would colour his hair if used over time . Because his hair is so white the sun bleaches it in the summer and it can look quite yellowy so he uses a blue ice white shampoo to keep it white .

Good evening all
Frank, Like everyone else I am glad that you and Ros are safely back home, sorry to hear that the meal didn't go too well. JJ must enjoy staying with both of you. It must be nice to be home and starting to enjoy having a good nights sleep at last.
Toby is also a champion wallpaper shredder so the dining part of the kitchen needs redecorating but he still does it now and again. Our two cats have their 8th birthday tomorrow, we had them from a lady in Sandhurst.
Not done much today apart from all the usual things, it's been really cold today and quite windy.

Morning all, Evening Kim,
Still quite blowy here, I haven't been out so don't know if it's cold. They do say it could get up to 21 this afternoon.
Bedding in the washing machine, that will go on the line for a good blow later.
So you are "ROTTING" away then Jane, It normally starts at the toes and works up. You will soon be ar@ing around ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) I see Thomas is back to his hunting mod. It will keep the rabbit population down, which will please Chris lol
I ordered plants yesterday from Jersey Plants and one lot arrived this morning. Is that service or WHAT !!!!
Shin of beef in gravy will go in the oven later, that can tick along of a low heat for tonights dinner. Creamy Mash and loads of Veg.
I think I will be going to Spec. Savers to collect my new specs this afternoon. I hope they are right this time, if not, off to Tesco or Boots. Once I have my money back. !!!
Going to check how wet or dry the lawns are. If OK I might get those done before my shower.
Hope you all have a good day, and don't overdo the housework LOL LOL.

Morning all
Raining again today, we've had a few days of it now, can't wait to see the sun again.
So Ruby's had all her injections now Anne, that'll give you peace of mind when you take her out. The puppy classes sound like a good idea, she'll enjoy mixing with other dogs too. Happy 8th Birthday to your two cats.
OH was in work yesterday and spoke to one of the National Grid people who said the man who said there wasn't any sign of Gas will be in so much trouble now. He also spoke to one of the Ambulance drivers who attended the scene and he said it was terrible there. These two men were visiting relatives at the care home. The council are finally offering help to all the people who can't return to their homes, so yes Jane something did go wrong with the Gas investigation the day before. I wouldn't want to be that Gas man right now. The police are treating it as a crime scene so goodness knows when everyone will be able to return to their homes. Some of them have got to be demolished and re-built so those people won't be able to return any time soon. At least they are receiving some help now and not only with accommodation but with clothes and other things too.
I'm sure everything will be okay with Thomas when Jess arrives with Benjy. You'll be surprised how cats and dogs get on well with each other, so I wouldn't worry. Isn't Benjy a small dog, or have I remembered that wrong? It sounds like you're going to be busy with one thing and another over the next few days Jane. Good luck with it all. Hopefully the cylinder will work properly then.
I liked the saying you said Ann, "When the bills start they bring their friends" you are funny :-D :-D
Great news with Carmel William, sorry to hear about Dorothy though, hope she can see the doctor soon.
Nice to see you back Frank, the service at the restaurant didn't sound very good, but at least you enjoyed the rest of the time you were away, pity about the weather though. So you have JJ at yours now, that'll be good company for you. Pleased to hear Ros received her flowers in the end.

There is me being the dutiful husband, Mowing the back lawn, when I realised the glass haven't been fitted in the greenhouse, so I got the glass down to the greenhouse and began to fit it. I got the first piece in, and needed the z clips to hold the next piece in. Where were they, Madam had taken them to a friends who needed some. As she had already got some, she bought them home. Where has she put them ??? NO ONE KNOWS. So Frankie boy has had to order more from Ebay. So I can't finish the job I started. They should b here next week. So I am not a HAPPY BUNNIE. You bet as soon as they arrive the others will turn up, so will the ones we have already got. !!!!
I am not going for my glass's today. I am in such a bad temper, and absolutely knackered. So it's the armchair for me this afternoon.

Good afternoon all
Well done to your OH Mel for fixing the boiler. it must be a relief having a warm house and hot water again.
Gill it must be terrible for all those people losing their homes and belongings because of the explosion, you never know what is round the corner.
Sainsbury delivery as usual this morning so have all we need for another week. I am so glad I purchased that small chest freezer to back up the upright one.
I am a bit concerned about Shadow this morning as I haven't seen her since late last night, it's not like her to miss her breakfast, I keep calling her and have left the conservatory door propped open, fortunately it's a nice sunny day.

Just got back from the hospital from 11.15am this morning. Carmel's rehab is on hold as two ladies at the home are waiting for Social to put there needs into place before they can go to their homes. Carmel has been moved across the corridor to Victoria ward and has her own room now - lots of sleep whenever she needs it without all the disturbance of a 6 bay room! They needed her slot a serious fracture case that had come in needing a lot of care but this has done Carmel a favour. The staff on the new ward are great (so far) and she has some privacy and peace and quiet. She is still progressing with her frame 'plus one' walking and the staff are pleased with her progress so far. Let you know more as and when.
