Ooops, little footnote. First I don't know how my previous post appeared twice - to be sure, to be sure as they would say in Carmel's native Ireland. Also it is Linden GRANGE she is going to not Lodge, that's a different place altogether.
Have a nice Saturday.

Pinch and a kick for being so quick William.

Morning all,

Its nice to hear how Carmel is getting along with Williwm's posts. I wish her better very soon and hope she likes Linden GRANGE when she gets there. It sounds like she has settled in nicely in her own room at the hospital. Mum was in her own room when she had her breast off. She also said she slept better there on her own and she had a shower and handbasin in there and a telly in the corner.

Well the sun has got its hat on so I better go out and do something before it decides to retire for th erest of the day.

Best wishes to Liz in her recovery and love to Ian Cas and Merlin. <3

Morning Will, Mel and all my friends. Evening to our Kim.
Looks quite a nice morning, but a lot of cloud building from the West.

Thanks for the photo's Jane, he does look a cute little thing. How are they getting on NOW ??

Good to her Carmel had a better nights sleep. I think we all feel better when we have one !!! How long will she be at Linden GRANGE ?? Is it very far for you to travel.??

Ros has been busy making more quilts for the children. She has now started to un-pick curtains for Tracy next door. She needs 17 inches taking off the length. She has recently bought new bed lining and wants these curtains to match. GOOD OLD ROS. <3 <3

Madam isn't meeting Martine until after 1.00 pm today. So I will walk both ways to the pub for the football. Liverpool V Everton (local derby) I think K.O is 12.30 pm.

Enjoy your day, before the rain stops play ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Apr 2017 11:26

Enjoy your tootie Frank and I hope it dos'nt rain for your walk down the pub.

Have to go and do the egg delivery next door and get the paper.

Must go and get the steak out of the freezer before I forget or there will be no dinner tonight. :-P

To Gill's question about Poldark they are thinking of bringing it forward to the Spring as there is a new series of Victoria on in the Autumn.

Afternoon All

William ,I am so pleased that Carmel is doing so well . Having her own room too will make all the difference.Fancy her not having the ripple mattress before now. That is not good.Hopefully her skin is ok.

No rain here at all yet.But there are some big clouds building up. I did hear talk of possible thunder later :-S.

Thomas did come in last night just after I had gone ot bed.James said he just got onto his blanket on the settee not realising Benjy was asleep on Jess's lap on the other one. When he did see him James said his eyes came out on stalks lol and he just stared at him for a while then went to sleep.
James ,Jess and dog have gone out. James has to get flowers for Johnny's Mum as he had forgotten it was her birthday the other night when he went round. So they will go to Johnny's Happy Place to see her.
Benjy hadn't eaten any of his food last night and had none this morning ,so I nipped out and got a bit of cooked chicken which went down well. I just wonder if with all the travelling yesterday and coming to a new place has been a bit unsettling for him.
He really is quite a sweet little thing(little being the word).I haven't heard a sound from him ,but Jess did says he barks sometimes .He is like a gazelle the way he runs around, all legs.

Frank I was sorry to see about Carolines 'freind' passing away. That is tough after losing her husband as well.I hope she is ok.

I don't watch Poldark.I don't really know why. But I am looking forward to All round to Mrs Brown tonight as Phillip and Holly are on it.There is bound to be lots of laughter with them .

I think Thomas is so full.He still hasn't eaten any of his own food. This is the 3rd day !!
He felt like a lump when I picked him up.

Jess is happy to be here .The last time was before Christmas. I think just being away from her Mum is good. She said her Mum hasn't really spoken to her for a Month !!!.I have no idea why.But that is her Mum :-S Definite personality issues.

Got the steak out Mel? Just wanted to check :-D I just took a joint of Beef out for tomorrow.Jess will have Chicken.

On Tuesday we have a skip coming. Big clear out in the garage AGAIN. Including the sink and cupboard unit which is probably about 30 yrs old ,a massive cross trainer/bike thing, and heaven knows what else.I have decided when the new sink and under cupboard is in I will keep most of my cleaning things there rather than under the kitchen sink.I will just put the things I use daily in that one.

While the sun is still out I think I will go and top up some Vitamin D :-D which reminds me I need to put in my last repeat prescription for that.

Afternoon all

Lovely and sunny here after a rainy start to the day.

Mum came round to visit earlier, I was outside dead heading some flowers so didn't hear the doorbell, luckily Sandra was inside and told me. Mum is going to give me some large black plant pots that would otherwise be thrown out at the flower club she goes to. They have about 3 a week and I have so many plants that need re-potting they'll come in handy and of course they are FREE.....my favourite word LOL.

OH is off work today so he's been catching up on all the little jobs that need doing. I've stripped the beds and took down the blind in the bathroom as it needed a good wash. Sandra cleaned all the kitchen worktops for me, so we've all been quite busy.

Pleased to hear Carmel has had a good nights sleep William, it's so much better having a room of her own by the sounds of it.

Thanks for letting me know about Polark and also Victoria I like that programme too Mel.

Love the pictures of Benjy Jane. How is Thomas with him now? It's nice that Jess feels at home at yours, I'm the same when I go to my MIL's there's just something about her place that makes you feel relaxed :-)

I've been helping someone with their tree, he sent me a message yesterday asking about someone who wasn't in my tree, he gave me access to his tree so I did a bit of research for him and found a few people he couldn't find himself. I remember all the help I was given with my tree and although I don't know this person, I thought I would help him.....he is very pleased with my findings.

Going to take a quite look at my own tree now while I wait for the washing machine to finish, then I'll start dinner and sort out the blind which is still in soak, then make the beds with the clean bedding.

OH's friend didn't come round last night, he might call round today after work so I'm just waiting for him to ring me to let me know what's happening. My laptop is okay today so there's no rush.

Jane

Jane Report 1 Apr 2017 18:13

Gill, as you say FREE is a good word :-D.Those pots will certainly come in handy for you. Did you not do those bathroom blinds not long ago? I seem to remember you putting them in the bath.

Thomas is just doing his normal things Gill, sleeping in the summerhouse and then off hunting.I don't think he has seen Benjy yet today. Apparently Benjy wee wee'd all over the place in Pets at Home this afternoon !!!.I think Jess was mortified and James just wanted out LOLOL. It must have been the scent of all the other dogs that get taken in there.I am sure the staff are well used to it and have mops and buckets to hand :-D
Jess bought a new toy.It is a chimpanzee about 10 times the size of Benjy :-D

Still no rain here. There is hardly any blue sky left now ,just a couple of tiny patches. They will be gone soon.A bit of rain over night won't be a bad thing.(if we get it)
Youngs Basa Lemon and Herb fillets, chips and Cauliflower Cheese for me and Chris tonight. James and Jess are ordering a Chinese.

Evening all,

It's been a dry day but there are plenty of black clouds about now ,got all my washing dry ,some bits need ironing but most of it has been folded and put away in the airing cupboard .

William that's good Carmel is in a room on her own and now she has the ripple bed she will be more comfortable , will you have far to go to get to Linden Grange once Carmel is moved there ?

Jane i didn't realise your hedge was as high as that ,i take it Jess got the ball out after her help from James .
I expect little Benjy was a bit upset with all the traveling and that's why he didn't eat ,i see the chicken went down well so there's not a lot wrong with him ,is this the first time he has been away from his home ?
I bet he can get a shift on when he runs around :-D

All round to Mrs Browns tonight we're looking forward to that ,last weeks was good. Also the final of the voice which i'm glad is ending as i'm beginning to get a bit tired of it now.

You don't say no if some things free Gill :-D it would have been even better if the pots had free plants in the too :-D

Good evening all

Benji looks such a sweet little dog, Thomas doesn't seem too upset by him being there. Ruby also likes cooked chicken, what does Benji usually eat?

The puppy socialisation class went really well, there was a Chihuahua but apart from him all the rest were girls and much larger than Ruby who really enjoyed herself, there weren't that many puppies there this week apparently it varies , one week they had 16 puppies. Ruby peed on the floor and cookie did a whoopsie . She came home really tired which gave me the chance to put some of the plants I bought when we were there in more pots.

Pleased to hear Carmel is on the mend William is the Grange nearer than the hospital?

Ruby is trying to get on my lap for a cuddle and crying for me to notice her
:-( :-(

Jane

Jane Report 1 Apr 2017 21:15

There is always one that does a Whoopsie LOL at least it wasn't Ruby. A little tiddle is fine :-D :-D
I don't know what Benjy 's food is .He has been fed upstairs in the bedroom .I think some wet and fried food .He picked most of the chicken out but not interested in the rice.

I think this is quite an experience for him Mandy .Normally he is just at home or at Jess's Grandmas.

Got to go as it is just about time for Mrs Brown :-D :-D :-D..I wonder if William will be watching as I know he is a fan :-D

See you all tomorrow. Thomas still out :-| :-|

Blinds are done and back up. Yes Jane I soak them in the bath. Our bathroom is quite small so has a lot of condensation, even with the window open so every now and then we get spots of mould on the blinds so I soak them in bleach and water, then rinse them and soak them again in some comfort to take the bleach smell away.

Oh poor Jess and James when Benjy had his accident, it's probably what you said with all the other dogs that caused him to wee wee everywhere. Pleased to hear Thomas is okay with Benjy, at least you don't have to worry now.

So Ruby had a good time at the puppy socialisation class Anne, Shame she had a little accident but it was probably excitement or nerves, at least she didn't do what cookie did. Will you be taking her again?

Yes, Mandy it would of been nice if there were free plants in them LOL. The free pots will come in handy, I priced some big black pots last year and they were £17.50 each. The ones I'm having are slightly smaller, but would probably cost a fair price if I had to buy the amount I'm going to need.

I'm hoping to make a start on our front garden tomorrow as the weather forecast is suppose to be good. After all the rain we had this morning it turned into a lovely sunny day and went quite warm too.

Well, I've just had a lovely bath so I'm off to bed now, see you all tomorrow.

Good Morning all,

Lovely morning here so I am up early to try and get some stuff done and finished today.

I did some more crafting yesterday and was pleased with the result. It is all packed up now and ready to go.I will send a pic in the week. Its only a little something to cheer someone up. Not saying anymore yet as emails have eyes.

My nails are all breaking at the mo and right down low too so they catch on everything.

Hope all got a good nights sleep last night and are fresh and raring to go this morning.

See you later.

Morning Mel morning all

Nice and sunny here too Mel, I was going to go out in the front garden today but I hurt my knee last night and today it's to sore to walk on properly so kneeling down to do the job I had in mind is out of the question. I don't know how I hurt it as it was okay before I had my bath. OH thinks I might of twisted it when I got out of the bath so I'm going to rest it while OH finishes taking some more of the apple tree stump out. He's hoping to have it finished today. He borrowed an electric saw off his friend which is making the job a lot quicker, he's taking it down to a few inches below ground level so we can grass over it, then if any of it grows back it'll be cut off with the grass when OH cuts it.

Luckily I got all my housework done yesterday so there's nothing for me to do today, so I'm going to take another look at my family tree. I need to check I've copied everything over to my back up tree so they both match and to make sure there are no more loose ends with this part of the family, then I can move onto someone else. I have quite a few loose ends all over my tree to sort out so it'll keep me busy until my knee is better and I can get in the garden again. I have noticed that a few of my hyacinths are starting to flower, I wasn't sure if they would as I was late planting the bulbs, so that was a nice surprise to see this morning.

So you've finished your crafting now Mel, can't wait to see the pictures when you're ready to send them :-) Sorry to hear about your nails, hope they heal soon.

What is everyone else up to today?

I am going to clean the banties out and then go back to the plants on the patio outside the back door. Also need to get my solar lights out in the sunshine so they start to work.

Gillx

Gillx Report 2 Apr 2017 10:35

I'm thinking of getting some solar lights for our garden Mel, but find that when it rains the solar part gets wet then the lights don't work anymore. Any suggestions on how I can avoid that happening, but still have the sun on the solar bit?

Frank

Frank Report 2 Apr 2017 12:03

Morning all, (JUST) Evening Kim,

Woke up with terrible Arthritis pain in both thumbs and fingers. I have had a job doing the vegetables I keep having to do a bit, then sit down for a rest. My knee is also being a little Bu@@er aching under the knee cap.

Ros has finished the curtains for next door, and taken them back this morning. Carolyne has called round this morning. She has taken JJ for a walk round the block, and is taking him back to her house for a hour or so. He will have the run of an acre garden, so will enjoy that.

It's CAROLS boyfriend who has passed away not CAROLYNS. and John is still alive and kicking. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I thought of you and William Jane, when I saw MRS BROWN'S BOYS were on the T.V. I have never seen it, and doubt I will. !!!

Harvey, being a gardener amongst other things always has plenty of those big black pots, Ros tends to put plants in them and then into decorative pots around the patio.

I was going to attempt to put more glass in the greenhouse, but with my hands like they are I am frightened to handle glass, in case I have an accident.

Our conservatory door is falling apart at the JOINTS. I have a couple of big coach bolts to try to pull in the joints. I can see I will have to measure up for a new door and locks. Harvey is popping up one evening this week so he can look at it and measure up for what I need. Being in the "TRADE" he will be able to save me some money, plus he can fit it.

Must get on and do more VEG. Will pop back later.

Anne

Anne Report 2 Apr 2017 12:23

Good afternoon all

A nice bright sunny day here, Richard is mowing the front garden which badly needed doing, Ruby isn't liking the noise at all but unfortunately I have to have the front door ajar because of the extension lead, she is in her cage but can see me sitting at the table.

I have solar lights in the back garden Gill and that aren't effected by the rain but I do need to get some new ones as they have been in a few years and a few are not working now. They usually have some on offer at Wyvale so I will have a look next time

I hope Benji had a good nights sleep, bless him. Ruby didn't wake up until 7.30 this morning still tired from yesterday, we will be going again it's only when Paul does overtime that we won't be able to go as it's not on the bus route, they can go up to a year old but I noticed that they are making an outdoor area for serious puppy training and building a doggy day care centre should we ever want to use it.

The girls aren't coming over today so it will be nice and quiet, I am cooking a roast in the bag chicken with sweet chilli flavouring for a change and a mixture of vegetables.

It will be good having a good clear out when the skip arrives on Tuesday Jane it's amazing how much clutter gets collected over the months, we are thinking of having one delivered soon, it's more stuff in the garage and sheds that could do with a sort out and a few bits in the utility room which can be used as a dumping ground sometimes

Hope your joints become less painful Frank, have you tried the cream that is advertise for the problem?

We are also fans of Mrs Brown and think she is so funny difficult to believe it's a man sometimes

Looking forward to seeing your craft work Mel, sorry to hear your finger nails are causing you some bother

Jane

Jane Report 2 Apr 2017 13:35

Afternoon All

Sounds like an easy day is order for you today Frank..I know that will be very frustrating for you not being able to get on with the things you want to do.But tomorrow is another day and hopefully all those aches and pains will be easier.

Gill ,you too and your sore knee. That cream Anne mentioned ,I am guessing is the Voltarol is really good.I got the 12hour one last time.
Mel do your nails break down at the side kind of half way?. Mine to that especially on my thumb and it is so annoying as like you said it catches on everything.I sometimes wrap a steristrip around mine when I am doing stuff.

Oops,I made a right blooper there FRank..Sorry thinking it was Carolyne who had lost both Husband and man friend. Sorry :-)

Last night Benjy was a right little minx.He was wanting to play with Thomas. But Thomas was having none of it and took shelter under the dining chair . I got a little video clip so will send it. I know some of you can't see the videos but I'll send to you all anyway .
Benjy sleeps up with James and Jess. Not sure James it that impressed lol. There is a pop up tent thing with Puppy Pads in the bedroom for nighttime wee wees, A domed cat bed (that Thomas has never used),plus Benjys dishes !!!! It is chaos.
I think Thomas just thinks Benjy is an irritating little critter LOL

Funny day weather wise .MIld,sunny and cloudy. It doesn't seem to know what it is doing.I have put a few shirts out on the line but there is not a breath of wind so they might not dry. They are just hanging :-S

Time for some Tomato and Basil soup I think :-D..my favourite.

Frank

Frank Report 2 Apr 2017 13:39

Well veg all done as well as Yorkshire pudding and CHEESE SAUCE.

You can guess where MADAM is. Yes, down the garden putting in more plants that have suddenly appeared, I would love to know who this PLANT FAIRY is !!!!

I have just mixed up a very strong weed killer solution that Ros has poured between the gravel board and the neighbour down the side fence, He has so much IVY growing his side, and even though I have asked very politely many times to remove it. IT STILL comes through and he just ignores my requests. So I hope this does the trick. It seems so unfair with all the work that Ros does on her garden to have it ruined by people who have no pride in their gardens. It's the same with Val and Tony next door. Plus their gutter is full to over flowing with MOSS off the roof. I have told him every year, but he does nothing about it. I have Chicken wire stuffed in my gutter to stop the moss coming down my side and blocking my down pipe.

I cut through my thumb nail while cutting the carrots, I have had to cut it right down, so that it won't catch on anything.

Ann, it sounds like ruby is like most dogs when it comes to mowers and hoovers. JJ barks at the head of the Dyson when Ros is cleaning around the bungalow.

He will be going home tomorrow when Jan, Jo and Ella come from Kerry's Not sure when they will arrive. Hope it's afternoon, so we can have him that bit longer. <3 <3 <3
