Good morning fair people, evening Kim,

Woke up to brilliant sunshine but now the clouds are starting to build, so I expect rain later. We did get a shower last night, but didn't last long.

Our pond is empty at the moment. We lost all the fish two years ago. But that doesn't stop the heron from sitting on the shed roof, looking for any movement.

The little Robins are very busy FEEDING. Dos got a fat and seed thing in the shape of a cupcake, it's very soft, so easy for them to pick bits off. They don't even land on the garage door now, just fly straight in, drop of the food and out again. I stood watching for a while this morning.

So pleased to hear the Children are safe and sound after the accident. Yes, I expect they will feel a bit bruised and uncomfortable this morning. That poor lad, this is what happens with un-experienced drivers. They don't seem to think ahead.

Will I know it's a fair distance from you, but I have a wheelchair in the garage that you can borrow, if it would be of help let me know .

I am expecting a FLOWER Delivery for Ros for Easter. I could only get them for delivery today, as Friday and Saturday are full. I hope they come before she goes to the Tapestry meeting at lunchtime.

Decisions, Decisions, What do I do for dinner tonight. We have had FISH,PORK, LAMB, I don't usually do beef in the week, so might find some LIVER in the freezer. and have Liver and Onions, peas and Mash.

The door bell has just rung, so I expect it's her flower delivery, I will go and see. YES it was. A beautiful bunch of Freesias. That smell devine, they are one of her favourite flowers.

Have a nice day all, whatever you might be doing. and Liz if you are looking in, be careful if you go for a walk. <3 <3

Linden Grange and Carmel. Carmel is happy now that she has her very own wheelchair at the home and that it will coming home with her. The OT has been in touch and is coming here Tuesday morning to look at our home environment and assess putting in an additional stair-rail, so it all looks promising. She did the stairs there yesterday and the physios were well pleased. In the evening, the singers from the local church came in and entertained us with Easter hymns. Very nice it was too. I'm going along early today as there will just be me visiting. Dorothy is getting ready for visitors, family from Ireland. That's Carmel's half-sister Vera and her chap Brian, but the special surprise is Carmel's brother Harry, who will be staying here with me most of the time. I shall have to tell her today that he's coming, I don't want her having a heart attack on top of a broken hip!.
I've ordered Sunday lunch at the home for Harry and myself so the three of us will have our meal together. I believe there is also an Easter Bonnet competition there as well so don't count me in on that LOL. Rehab cases like Carmel's are on the upper floor, while the ground floor is for residents (but nothing to stop you going to either lounge) and there are some sad folk in the lower apartments but the staff look after them with such care and attention, I'm pleased to say.

Morning all you early peeps,

Dry here this morning with a little watery sun but mostly grey skies.

I have just made a raspberry jelly with raspberries in it. Have been fancying one for along while so bought the raspberries and the jelly and made it now I just hope it sets. Probably make it into a trifle without the sponge fingers as I don't like sponge in a trifle.

Can't remember last nights dream so perhaps I did'nt dream!!!

Afternoon Everyone

I can't believe it is afternoon already. Fitz will be here any minute now.I am just doing a big pizza and bread ,cheese and pate..I think I can hear him in the garage talking ot Chris. So I had better not hang around.

Great things for Carmel then William .Her own wheelchair, visit for m family from Ireland and the big surprise that her Brother will be there too :-D :-D :-D. Lunch for the 3 of you will be so nice for you all. It won't be long now before Carmel is home.

I love Freesias but do find the scent a bit much sometimes.Ros will love hers Frank.

Have you enjoyed your walkies with Max Mandy
:-D

Mmm Raspberry Jelly with the real things. Sounds scrummy Mel. I often made strawberry or raspberry jelly when the children were little. The fruit often dropped to the bottom :-S

I am being called so better shift my bum.

Have just been out to the "D" turning point in the close, next to our drive. It's full of dandelions in full flower. So I got my spade and scraped the lot out. Dennis our neighbour came out and said he has treated them with weed killer twice, I said well they are DEAD NOW. The last thing I want is them going to seed and blowing over my garden. Have you noticed how many there are around this year. The verges round here are full of them !!!

Toss up for dinner tonight, either SHIN OF BEEF with spuds and Veg. or Liver. They are both out of the freezer. So I will let Ros decide when she gets back from the meeting.

Some more plants arrived in the post this morning from Jersey Plants. I always find they are very good quality and come with FREE P &P. Which is handy.

Going to have another go with my new glass's with my book. As it's nice and quiet I should get a good hour or so.

Jane Report 13 Apr 2017 16:24

Homeserve has just arrived. Took one look and said oh oh :-S He has done a temporary repair now but has had to go off to Wellingborough to get special clamps or something to fix the long pipe into the plaster board. So fingers crossed it will be all done tonight.
Still haven't heard from my other plumber about the water cylinder :-S

Frank ,I can't say I have noticed any Dandelions here. I know Fitz often has a problem at his place down the lane. I was listening to something on Northampton Radio today and they were talking about some Stained glass exhibition by someone near Blissworth tunnel. You and Ros might like that :-)

Little Benjy will be arriving tonight. All hell let loose then LOL . :-D Thomas is still oblivious as to what it going to happen later.

So is it Shin of Beef or Liver then Frank?

Washing needs getting in .It is looking a bit iffy out there.

Turned out lovely here this afyernoon. I have been down the bottom of the side garden, what we call the back garden, cutting down brimbles and clearing the corner out. Its such a tangle of ivy brimbles and my clematis I have to be carefull what I am cutting off. Two heaped barrow loads so far. I have also pulled out the old arch that was down there and which is now in many pieces.

Sending love to Liz if she looks in. <3 <3

Annx Report 13 Apr 2017 18:34

Evening All,

Frank OH was saying the very same thing when we were out today, that it was a very good year for Dandelions!! :-) You are very good going out and clearing them away.

Are your creams being effective Jane? I keep imagining what it must be like trying to do things with gloves on a lot of the time. :-S Hopefully the drainpipe will be fixed by tonight and you can use the bathroom again. It does seem an ongoing saga with your plumbing doesn't it?

I have potted up the front wall pots with some Bacopa with golden leaves this morning. I just hope there's no frost!!

OMG that bomb that's been dropped on Afghanistan!!! :-0

Mandy I liked the Grey parrot too........you could almost hear the cogs turning in his mind, they are so clever! I'm glad some of you liked the pics, but I think I would have got some other good ones too if I'd gone on my own. OH goes ahead and either frightens away what you want to photograph or he manages to fill the lens himself!! lol. Then of course he wonders why I am lagging behind him!! :-S MEN! (sorry Frank)

All good news about Carmel Will which must be encouraging for you both and mean she will soon be home. It's good she has her own chariot now. :-D Another Sunday Lunch out then and no cooking!!

Mel I hope the new hogs are ok. Are they territorial at all? I hope they don't get into a scrap with the 'residents'. What a strange dream that was about the white millipede. Sometimes after dreams you are glad you wake up when you do.

No word from Gill so I hope she is ok and will soon be feeling better.

Off to bed now as I was awake till after 3.30am this morning. Hopefully I will have a good night tonight!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Apr 2017 21:26

Was it a full moon yesterday?

I still hav'nt finished doing that corner. I am finding it hard to dig the brimbles out as they are all rooted between the beech trees big roots.

I am sitting here eating black grapes from Lidl and I don't htink I have ever had such sweet grapes before. They are lovely but a bit too sweet.

I too liked the Arfrican Grey Parrot, it reminded me of my Captain. He used to look like that when he was thinking about saying something.

Linden Grange, the legend lives on. The intrepid four minute miler, Coleen Carmel, beat the world wheelchair record today for getting to the Bridge for tea time. Here she is raising a mug of builders tea to one and all in a Easter Greeting, No, that';s not her tea on the table, that's a snack between meals. She had a 'hairdo' with the visiting hairdresser today so she feels a little more human.
Can you really wait for tomorrows instalment? No adverts on this channel! Tomorrows report will be a special one-off, DO NOT miss it (you'll be sorry!)
Copied and posted from my Facebook report - accompanied by a smiley photo holding up a cup of tea and confronted by a huge plate of sandwiches. What I didn't add there is that Carmel has another 'water infection', mainly because they only prescribed three days of antibiotics before. She has always had this problem and usually has a low dose nitrofurantoin every night to ward it off. Even so, she still gets a bad infection from time time time. It will be a busy day for her tomorrow and one filled with happiness when she and Harry get together, not to mention her sister Vera.
I may not have time to post tomorrow as I shall be playing host here to Harry. I had a phone call from the OT this morning to say she will be here Tuesday morning to 'check the environment' and see about getting another stair rail fitted. Maybe she will be home by next weekend, day 31 today!

Gillx

Gillx Report 14 Apr 2017 09:17

Morning all

I'm still not well, I was talking with mum yesterday and she gave it a name, I can't remember what she called it now, but it effects one side of the face where you have lots of bad pain from the top of the face right down to the neck and normal pain killers don't really help. It's something to do with the nerves in the brain and can be brought on with stress.

We've had bad news over the last week and thought my hubby's younger brother had cancer which because he was so ill we were told he might of only had about six months to live. He's only 48 and has two small children the youngest is only 6 years old. My BIL has been in hospital since last weekend as he couldn't keep a glass of water down, he has lost 5 stones since Christmas and is in a bad way. He had further tests yesterday and thankfully it's not cancer. He had a mass in his stomach which the surgeons managed to remove, he has to be very careful what he eats over the next three weeks but is coming out of hospital today. So I think with worrying about him and of cause my OH it's brought on this pain in my face and effected my eyesight.

Hubby's older brother also had to have an operation yesterday and could have a stroke at any time, he has three months to recover and along with his younger brother can't work, so as you can imagine we've been through quite a lot over the last week. Sandra was very upset with her uncle's not being very well which is why we took her out to see the animals. She hasn't been sleeping very well, but thankfully is asleep now so I assume she had a better nights sleep last night.

The doctor told OH that the stress he's been under lately won't have helped his chest infection and now he has a throat infection which he had to get antibiotics for yesterday. We're just hoping that things will improve for everyone now. So I'm sorry I haven't been on here for a while. I still can't see very well so I might not be on here much over the next few days..

I hope everyone is keeping well and you all have a happy Easter. Sorry I didn't mention all this before but we only found out last night exactly what was wrong with hubby's younger brother.

Good morning all, and a HAPPY EASTER, Evening Kim,

I don't know why I bothered going to BED last night. I went to the pub and watched the match, Ros picked me up at 10.00 pm. I had a beer at home and went to bed 11.00 ish. I was still awake at 1,15 am so got up and watch T.V. till 3.30. Then laid awake until 5.00 am. I dropped off until 7.30 and that was it !!.

I had a dream where Harvey and I went to collect FOUR JCBs in a BIG LORRY. I drove, and had to turn round in this little car park. Two children on bikes rode in front of me and I almost run them down. That soon woke me up, as if I needed that. :-P :-P

Carmel will be able to enter the wheelchair race around Coventry now Will. :-D :-D It's nice that she has her own. and able to take it home.

Gill, I have heard of that thing you have, Is it DROP PAUSEY. Jane will no doubt know. Hope you feel better soon, I can understand how you must feel with all this worry. Take care of yourself xxx

I think I said before Jane you should name your house with something to do with "WATER LEEKS" you are certainly getting value from HOMESERVE. I had a policy with them when I had all that trouble with my boiler a couple of years ago. The service was second to none.

I don't envy you Mel, trying to dig out the brambles, Their roots go so deep and that must be difficult to remove.

Where do you think MADAM is. Shopping with Carolyn. I don't know what they find to do, part from Tesco, Lidli,Aldi, M & M or is it B & M. She will no doubt come home with more bits for the garden.

Ann, I take your point. Your OH must be a pain in the backside when you are trying to get a good photo. LOL LOL.

The little ROBIN has been in every pot and basket on the fence down the drive and on the patio. I think he/she are searching for little grubs and worms. The earth is everywhere. I haven't seen or heard the babies yet, and I am in and out of the garage quite a bit.

I think I will go and get eggs on toast as I haven't eaten yet today, and I just fancy that.

Have a nice Easter Friday, and enjoy whatever you are doing.

Morning all,

Bit over cast here this morning ,the sun keeps trying to peep through but not for long .

Gill you have both had quite a week by the sound of things i hope you both soon feel better and your BIL's too.

Just had a knock at the door and who should stand there Nicko !!! bless him he handed me a bag and said here's just a little some thing to thank you for all you've done for me , i opened it and there was a Hot Cross Bun , he said he bought it off the bread stall on the market and they are expensive on there nearly a pound each .
He still hasn't got a key to a door as he puts it but he said he was just glad to have got over the winter , he looked quite smart ,nice suede shoes and a new jacket ,i was pleased to see him as i have been thinking about him and wondering how he was .

How nice was that Mandy. He must think about you, as you do about him.

Jane that stained glass exhibition is at the Stoke Bruerne end of the Blisworth Tunnel, we had a roundal repaired by him last year. He makes some beautiful things, and at fair prices. The trouble is it's a good mile to walk from the car park.

Still not eaten, so will do that now !!!

Afternoon All
The internet has just started working ,but may go again. It has been a right nuiscance today.

Gill ,It is some type of Neuralgia you have.I think thr first word might be Trig......But can't think what it is right now. You poor thing.I do hope it is not long lasting. Oh my goodness no wonder you have had all this stress with the worry about OH's 2 Brothers. What a worry for you all.Lets hope all will be well for the both of them.

How lovely of Nicko to bring you that Hot Cross Bun Mandy. A wonderful gesture of thanks for all you have done for him.Bless him <3.Good that he is looking good ,but what a pity he still doesn't have a place of his own to call home yet.

The skip has just been collected.About an hour before ,the doorbell rang and it was a chap wanting scrap metal. He was already going through the stuff by the time I open end the door !!!!. So he went off with two old Hoovers and some other bits and bobs.
I did watch him as I didn't want him actually getting in the skip (which I think he would have done ),so just told him he could take what he already had .He said could he come back ,but I said no. Good job too as he would have been disappointed to find the skip gone LOL

James went to Argos for me earlier to get a small folding excercise bike.Chris is now trying to put it together :-D Actually is is just about done.I have just been to sit on it to make sure the seat it the right height .I think it will be fine.I just need to use it !!! As I can't do the long walks that Chris goes on I thought I could do the bike when he goes off on his jaunts. The letters have suddenly become HUGE here.I don't know how.So will post and see what happens.

O Mandy I was just thinking about NIko this morning and wondered if you had seen him. How nice was that he called to give you a hot cross bun. Bless him. He must think of you and the nice dinners you gave him. Did you ask if he was still in the shed??

I was going inthe garden this afternoon and oh went out and did something up the top while I washed up the lunch things. I was just getting ready t go out and he came in and said I would'nt go out there if I was you it has turned very cold.

The sun has broken through now so I think I shall venture down to the shed.

Ooh that was weird .I see it came out normal size.

I hope Carmel's water infecton is not going to spoil the lovely time she will have this weekend with all her family visitors..Hopefully she has more antibiotics .3 days hardly sounds long enough to make much difference .

Not a very nice day here.It is just mainly cloudy and a bit breezy.Bit on the chilly side too.Thomas hasn't been too far.He keeps coming back in to check and see it the little Critter is around.I have allowed Thomas to go on the settee in the day time rather than just at nights I think he is happier to be up there when Benjy is having his whirling dervish moments. He has kept trying to sneak to Thomas's food dish and eat his food LOL
I have in front of me 2 Green and Black's Easter Eggs from James and Jess. One a Butterscotch and the other a Milk Choc one. Chris and I will share them :-D :-D
Maybe we might have a little taste tonight :-D. I have James and Jess's eggs in my wardrobe. They will get them on Sunday when I think that is the correct day.
Jess has the biggest stinker of a cold :-S. Earlier in the week she couldn't get out of bed as she had a temp of over 39 and heavy aching limbs. That sounded proper fluey .

I keep thinking it is Saturday .Probably because James is home. He will cook for himself and Jess tonight.Chris and I will have Fish (Youngs) Dauphinoise Potatoes, and plenty of veg.

Have you spoken to your Sister today Frank? Hope her poor bashed head is healing nicedly now and that she has had no more falls or blackouts.

I think the pollen is really high today. Just had a bout of the sneezies ,Chris too.
