Poor Ros it must have frightened her to wake with the swelling andf hot face. I hope it settles down soon. Did they give her other pills to take or just the antibiotics?
Been to the library this morning. Just as well I checked as I thought it was next week.
They had three books for me that I had asked for and I renewed one I had last time as I hav'nt quite finished it.
It must be because I am spending more time in the garden now we have the lighter evenings.

I don't know what happened there. I was typing away and a page of WIDGETS came up.
Ros has a chap here to do her feet. Not the sort of guy I could take too. He arrived half an hour early, without a word of apology, he has been here for about 15 minutes, and charged her £25.00. I wish I could earn £100.00 an hour, and turn up when you like.
The Doctor has given Ros more tablets as well as antibiotics, so hopefully we will see an improvement soon.
Saturday we have been invited to Jean's, she's the one with a massive house about 10 acres of garden/paddock indoor swimming pool, and I think 5 bedrooms. All for one person. She has been nagged by her daughters to sell up and buy smaller, but she's not ready. John and Carolyn will pick us up about 7,00 pm. The one good thing is I won't have to watch ANT and DECK. as I am sure Jean won't have it on.
Football on down the pub tonight. Man Utd playing in a European Competition. So might have a walk down ad get a bit of fresh air, and a couple of pints. I haven't been out today. !!!
Cold roast beef, sliced in onions and gravy, with potatoes on top. They will crisp up nicely after a couple of hours in the oven. Boiled Parsnips, Broad Beans, Carrots peas and cabbage for Veg. Dos has a bit of Bread and butter pudding left for her afters. I don't eat them.
It's nice that the evenings are drawing out. It's almost 8.00 pm before it's dark. Roll on the longer nights and sunshine.

Afternoon All,
I bet Ros was worried waking up with her face swollen. I hope it clears with the antibiotics and stopping the medication that caused it. I hope your knees feel a bit better with a rest and read of your book Frank. Some days mine get stiff if I sit for long, especially in a low seat, but ache and twinge if I stand for long, you can't win at times can you!
Your greenhouse light sounds interesting Gill. Doesn't the toothpaste rub off?..........or did I miss something?
Mel I had a chuckle at your description of your OH like a cartoon with bits of white stuck to him!! Then his hands are covered in it when he's tieing the rose back!! Does he take blood thinners, is that why he bleeds easily with scratches? It sounds like you have started tidying and sorting out some of your garden. It's satisfying to see improvements isn't it. :-)
Will and Carmel seem to be enjoying the entertainment at the home! Winning the prizes too I see! :-) It sounds like Carmel is managing stairs better than me now so perhaps I should book myself in there!!
Anne the moistening of Ruby's food like Mandy suggested is a good idea to try. When do their next teeth come through? Maybe her mouth is a bit sore for dried food.
I went to the Stafford Record Office yesterday with a friend. We went on the M6 Toll road and were amazed how many unmarked police cars were pulling people up. We saw at least four. They charge you to go on a road that is quicker with less traffic but seem to be lying in wait to catch out anyone tempted to go over the speed limit. It must have been an expensive trip for some what with the toll charge and then a fine on top! We had a job to park when we got there, but there was hardly a soul about on the walk to the office. We left home at 8.30am and were there till about 6.00pm but I couldn't print some stuff off that I wanted (maps with arrows where my ancestors lived!) and I wasn't prepared to pay £7 to be able to use my camera for just a few shots!) They do allow you to use your laptop now which they didn't last time I went so if I go again I'll take it and I should be able to save the maps to that. We stopped for a meal on the way home so didn't have to bother with getting food when we got home. OH was out at a match and her hubby gets himself meals.
Hubby and I were saying this morning that we both had our first 2 wheeler bikes when we were age 7. Both of us were bought bikes that were too big for us and had to have blocks put on the pedals by our fathers till we grew into them. We were saying that we can't remember when 2 wheel bikes first had stabilisers? Another thing I couldn't remember was the name of the butter we had when I was a child. It was in a roll, like a swiss roll with greaseproof paper with I think some green pattern on the paper. I think it was ?? Meadow? Anyone else remember it?

Afternoon All
Thomas has just waddled up the garden with a baby bunny in his mouth :-S.Chris chased him off into the hedge with it. He was heading straight for us and no doubt would have started to eat it on the patio !!!!.So no cat food for him tonight again.
Mel ,you need to buy a pack of Colour Catcher sheets to put in the washing machine with coloured things. They are brilliant. I use one each time and all colour is picked up by the sheet .I can put any mix of coloured things in and it all comes out just fine.
Oh poor Ros's face !!. I hope it soon settles down now Frank. She must have wondered what on earth had happened. Nice tot go to the BIG house on Saturday. It does sound far too big for just the one person. But it must be a difficult decision as to stay or move. Does she have help in the house/garden?
Ann ,I looked up the link of where you visited the other day and it was very interesting reading.
So toothpaste is used for all sorts then Gill :-D. Whata strange idea ,but great if it works and a lovely minty smell too :-D :-D
I have had quite a hectic day. I was up at the hospital to get my blood done for just after 9 and the waiting room was FULL. My number was 64 and I think I had 15 people to be seen before me.But they didn't half get through them quickly.I was only in there for about 25 minutes. Then Chris brought me home and he went off to the garage in Northampton to get his 2 new tyres for his car At just before one I had a message on the answerphone from my GP to say the blood results were through (THAT WAS SO QUICK) and that I could start on these anti fungal tablets. So first one tonight :-). Then I had to go to the pharmacy at the surgery to pick up my prescription for these steroid tapes to stick on all my affected fingers. They need to be on for 12 hours so night time is best to put them on. Then it was a swift drive to the hairdresser for my haircut.I had just 10 minutes to get there and just made it in time. So now it is time to relax :-D.. Just doing ready meals for us all tonight.
Ann,I haven't looked up Vincent Vincent yet but I will do. I do hope that you manage to get Ruby to eat .Maybe as others have said the dry food might be a bit hard for her.
Thomas is back and has now fallen asleep in the Olive Tree pot LOL .No doubt stuffed.
Tomorrow morning I have to go and get my eyebrows tidied and any whiskers whipped out !!. I want to look neat and tidy for sunday when we meet Gareth's Mum and Dad :-D Can't wait to have my Sister here for a couple of days. She said she has our wedding invites for her Son's wedding in September .Dress code is wear what you feel comfortable in :-D :-D.. Might go in my nightie LOL
Fitz is coming for lunch again tomorrow !!. I have bought some fresh Tomato and Basil Soup and a big loaf of Sourdough Bread .He is bringing some kind of quiche that he has taken out of his freezer which needs eating . So that is lunch sorted.
I have been awake since 3am .One of those nights when the brain just refused to switch off :-S :-S :-S

Made me smile Jane. Trust me to miss read what you said. I thought you said it was time to have SEX not RELAX. :-D :-D :-D and I read that Thomas was stuffed with OLIVES. :-D :-D :-D :-D I have a spare razor if you need one for those Whiskers. !!!
Mel, I am like you two, Aspirin every morning. If I cut myself I bleed like a stuck pig. !! Hope you enjoyed your cold pork, one of my favourite cold meats.
I don't know what new tablets Ros is on, but all she has done this afternoon and after dinner is sleep. I prepared, cooked and washed and dried up tonight. A mans work is never done. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
See you in the morning.

Mel ,he loves the trunk....scratches his nails on it :-S :-S then just lies down in the pot. I better sleep well tonight otherwise I will be a right old misery tomorrow . I watched the programme Missing at 3 30 am ,then a bit of a read hoping I would just nod off.It was like my brain was on a HIGH .It just would not switch off :-S
Anne,I have had a look on Amazon now and have seen the pic of Vincent Vincent . Hopefully it was the right one .Bald head and Beard? He has a lovely friendly open face :-D
Chris and James have eaten .I am not that hungry just yet so will have my dinner when fancy.Just 3 mins in the microwave :-D I need to look at the instructions for these tapes to put on my fingers tonight.I think they need to be cut to the size needed.
Ann the only butter I remember having as a child was Anchor Butter. But somewhere in my mind I seem to recall a Roll of butter in waxed paper . I do know that we never had Margarine on our bread/toast. Mum would only use Marg for cooking . Except for Shortbread. Butter was the only thing for that :-D

Jane what a game it will be with these finger strips you have. You seem to be having a right game with skin things. You said the doctor thought things were connected so does that mean it isn't psoriasis now? I think I would have a job to keep things on my fingers! I know I would find it a bit tense meeting the boyfriend's parents, a bit like when you first meet your in laws!! I would be wanting to 'tidy' myself up too. :-)
I think Thomas's lifestyle which is very natural and normal for a cat would make me feel ill. lol. It might help me to diet though!! :-)
The butter I remember was a large roll like an oblong piece cut off a swiss roll. I do remember the Anchor butter as well and mum used Trex lard for frying till cooking oil was more available. I think she changed to that before I was a teenager.
I'm off to bed soon as I need to be up early to go and meet some friends tomorrow for a chinwag! It seems to have been a busy week.

These tapes won't come off Ann.They are like clear selloptape. Just done them. 3 on 3 fingers on one hand and 4 fingers plus the base of one finger on the other. My foot ,tummy ,scalp and fingernails are Psoriasis (all to do probably with the fungal foot probs) the sore flaky skin on my fingers is more like eczema .But it is all connected. It is very strange how the body can react to something .
I am off to bed too now.Thomas is in and asleep .He didn't even look at his food :-S
Trex.I remember Mum using that. I also seem to remeber taking that to school for things I made in Cookery lessons. I have a feeling it is still on the shelves in the shops. Must have a look next time I go to Tesco :-D

Hi folks, I'm a bit under the weather today so my latest blog on FB will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm doing a 30 mile round trip each day and I think it's tiring me a bit. Anyway, Millbrook phoned this morning and are coming to fit the extra stair-rail on Tuesday. Carmel had a visit from the Social Services lady re coming home and the care and equipment she will need. There will be a meeting next Wednesday to discuss her case with a possibility of being back here by next weekend. She said Carmel will need a 'kitchen' test to see if she can manage to make a cup of tea on her own, can't think why, that's what I'm here for. Having said that, she also told Carmel that she will not be able to be left on her own at any time, so why would she trot (I use the term loosely!) off and make tea for herself? I think it's a bit daft as the hardest part would be to get the tea from the work top to the table - how do you do that when you are using a walking frame? Anyway, things seem to be moving in the right direction. Today we were talking to another lady there (she had a stroke in Feb) and we had a lot of common ground. I started chatting to her in the lounge while Carmel was having her hair done (see, they think of everything) and then Carmel came in. We finished up having tea with her in the adjoining dining room and the staff fed me as well! It was a nice change and nice for the lady as well.

It does seem to be a very nice place Carmel is in William. To feed you too is good as it means less for you to do. Silly about the tea though, as you say how on earth are you supposed to carry a cup or a mug with a walking frame. Perhaps you could fix a basket on the front like mum had on her byke.
Oh has fiddled with this mower all day and finerly worn himself out. It needs a new starter motor now. The bloke who had it before had changed all the wiring on it so oh is trying to put it all back round the right way.

Morning all,
What a beautiful one we have too. Wall to wall blue skies and plenty of that yellow stuff hanging in the sky.
So what are we all up to today?
I am going to strip the bed and get that washed and I may do some hoovering if I feel like it later. I dusted yesterday so there is bound to be more after I hoover today.
I need to go around with the cobweb brush too as yesterday I spied one either side of the bathroom door frame so they went with the duster but if they were there there is bound to be more lurking in doorways and other secret places..........

Good morning all, slight touch of Delhi belly this morning, hope I haven't got a bug. Just completed yesterdays blog and posted it on Facebook. I'm running out of new material! The staff at L G were asking me about it yesterday, I may eventually get chucked out by the owners, that'd be a laugh, NOT. When Carmel's sister Vera was over from Dublin at the weekend, she actually said what a lovely place it is - and she has VERY high standards, so it must be nice. I'll be going over a little later today as daughter Dorothy and grandson Craig will be there midday'ish. I think the staff there like the fact that they have residents on the ground floor but on the first floor people like Carmel, who come and go and have different medical needs. Most of the staff there are smashing and so obliging.

Afternoon all,
Mel, I was up at 7.45 am showered dressed and started the ironing. I did two sheets, four pillow cases, four tea towels, hankies, shirts, and T shirts. All that's left are Ros's tops. Haven't eaten yet, so will have sea food tray and B & B later.
I don't know what was in those tablets Ros took. But they didn't agree with her. As I said she slept most of yesterday. This morning it was 9,45 am before she came out. Still puffy faced and with loads about EIGHT blotches on her legs the size of a two pence piece. She said they don't irritate, so she's leaving them alone.
She has just showered and washed her hair. She is now ironing her tops.
Nothing special weather wise here, high clouds and a breeze.
Rib eye steak for Ros tonight with the trimmings, while I have a large loin of COD. Should be an easy dinner. I have done the mushrooms and onions for her. Just the chips and pepper sauce to make later.
Hope all of you are well, don't get STUCK UP with those strips Jane. !!!
Age concern came to my sister's yesterday and fitted various grab handles round her house and back and front door. So she is less likely to have falls now, I hope.

Thats good they have added a lot more handles for your sister Frank especially round the doors.
I have changed the bed and washed it and the bathroom mats are nearly dry as is the bedding. I have cleaned the loo and washed the floor so now I am going to wash the hand basin and bath but am leaving the shower till oh has had his tonight as he has been working on the old mower and is now mowing up the top field so he will only make it dirty again if I clean it this afternoon.
Have hoovered the hall and now I am going to do the bedroom and the kitchen part of the kitchen and the other side of the dinning area. Also been around with the cobweb brush. Done lunch and got out the puff pastry for dinner tonight when I make a chicken and broccoli plate thing with a light cheese sauce.
See you later. :-D :-D

Afternoon Everyone,
OH gets blotches like that when he eats some things Frank. I bet Ros wonders where they will pop up next! That medication certainly didn't agree with her and it's good she stopped it as soon as she did. I think you are more thorough with your ironing than we have ever been. :-0 OH does most of it now but the only bedding we do is the pillowcases and duvet covers. Teatowels just get folded and although I used to iron pants when I first married they don't get done now either.
Jane it sounds like the strips aren't too bad to keep on after all. It must be a palaver getting the stuff on and on the right bits, but hopefully you should get some improvement. How is your eye now?
Mel, you have been busy today as has Mandy, both getting on with your chores!! I need to do plenty too but it didn't happen here today!! lol. We seem to be getting lots of baby spiders of those we all had lots of last autumn, the ones with long spindly legs!! I went to meet some friends this morning and enjoyed home made banana, coconut and cherry cake. :-D Then OH and I went out and I had ham, eggs and frites and OH had the same but with sausage instead of ham. Then we went to a garden centre that was taken over last summer and they have just opened after refurbishment. It's much bigger now, but they were still working on some of the paving so all the pots and garden furniture were fenced off. Then we called in the farm shop where they have just started the brickwork on the new tearoom there.
It's good you are getting some more rails fixed William. They will help Carmel get around safely and make it easier for her.
OH went into the shed this morning and found the start of a wasps' nest!! :-0 :-0 It was only very small and on the roof inside so he knocked it off and a wasp flew out of it!! He says he'll keep an eye open in case they start building again as the LAST thing I want there is WASPS!! :-S
Back to my family tree now!

Good afternoon all
It so cold here today that I have had the central heating on but still no rain which the gardens now need as it hasn't rained for a few weeks now.
Frank, It's good they are making your sister's home safer or her, they did the same for Peter when his mobility became unstable, the worse part was he would often forget to use his Zimmer, so I bought an alarm that would ring when he got out of his chair.
Also Carmel should find the new additions to help her at home make life a lot easier
I haven't done much today just pottered about doing a few odd jobs and am now about to cook dinner, the usual fish and chips.
Thank you all of you for the advice about Ruby's eating, unfortunately I have tried all these and also got advice from the veterinary nurse. I have now tried her with the cats Encore tinned food, she has to have two of these at a time. Haven't given her the chicken breast yet as they were frozen, the same with the Coley. Puppy class tomorrow so will see if they have anything different.
I hope your fingers and toes soon recover Jane, it must be uncomfortable for you to do any cooking etc.
I also take the low dose Aspirin but it doesn't seem to help me give blood.
I received a free packet of wild flower seeds yesterday because they are butterfly friendly and have got to find a spot at the top of the garden to scatter them on.
