Ann, I didn't mention this morning that I had Eggs Bacon and fried Jersey Royals, with two slices of granary bread and butter with a third COT. So didn't want any lunch today.
I have prepared a Sheep @@@@ Pie, (Mel's term) and cabbage for tonight. I have even got the plates out and knives and forks. So I am likely to "meet myself coming back" That's a good old saying !!!.

We have just had a heavy shower. I hope it's enough to do some good. The gardens are getting quite dry.

I assume Carmel is home by now. I hope she soon settles in to HOME LIFE again.

Annx I will have to see if I can get any further with my tree over the weekend.

I had forgot that it is May day on Monday. When at work, you looked forward to these holidays, but now it's just another day.

Your OH is such a good general handy man. Is there anything he can't do. I could do with him living closer to me lol lol. I didn't know you were on a SMART METER Mel. I did a meter reading this morning, and when I put it on line, I noticed they mentioned SMART METERS. So I have put my name down for more information. You will have to let us know how you get on with yours.

Ann I saw Dea's post and have been on there ever since.

I was just going to put it on here and saw your post. The new old mower is a Countex same as our new mower. It looks a lot cleaner now than it did when he brought it home. He cleaned all the old oil spills off the engine and where it sits and you can now see red paint. He is taking the rust off some parts of the mowing deck and sweeping deck. He has put in a new starter motor, plugs and oil and has today been fiddling cleaning up anothe rpart which looks like some kind of clamp. He put brown sauce on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! left it a while and cleaned it off and it looked much better.

Afternoon all,

Dull day here ,it's been raining since mid morning ,Colin went in early for his appointment at the hospital so we decided to have lunch out ,we both had Beer Battered Haddock and an ice cream sundae for pud so we won't want any thing else to eat today .

William that's good news to hear Carmel will be back home at last where she belongs with you looking after her ,she has had good care at the home but there's nothing better than being in your own home , all that travelling each day must have been very tiring for you ,now you can relax a little and try to get back to normal ,give Carmel my love <3

Ann i hope your feeling better today ,i've heard of lots of people with these sore /dry throats .
Thanks for saying about the free FMP weekend ,i must get back to my tree ,it's just with Max now the time just seems to fly by .

Mel you rest that knee ,gardening will only make it worse especially if you walk on any rough ground and you twist it .
That's lovely Robbie is feeding from your hand again .

Anne thats good Ruby is now enjoying her walks ,is she feeding better now ?
Oh a Rat !!! did Ruby see it ?
We have one in the garden again ,we put a bait box down the other day which reminds me we must have a look to see if they have touched the bait .

Hope your feeling better now Frank .

We've only had the smart meter a day Frank. It was fitted yesterday morning.
Because we have solar panels and the sun was out yesterday it was'nt registering anything till it got darkish.

It is today now the suns gone in. Oh comes out and presses the screen and says 23p an hour what have you got turned on. I hav'nt but he has the two pond filters going on his pond and one on mine and the leccy fencing all round both ponds so who is spending all that money on leccy??????

I must admit I don't take out the telly plug at night either but do take the plug out of cd player. Then there is the fridge and freezer and the micro left plugged in and the cooker all of which have a very small light on them.

Annx Report 27 Apr 2017 21:41

That's good that Ruby is enjoying her walks now Anne. I suppose it is very different having a smaller dog after your Boxers and little legs don't cover as much ground do they! I wouldn't have liked seeing the rat. :-0 The poor driver must have come a right cropper for it to have put him out of action.

I didn't feel too bad by teatime so I went to the talk at the hospital tonight. I wasn't sure if I would like it as it was about prosthetics, but it turned out to be quite fascinating. They had samples set out at the front which we could look at and hold. There were glass eyes with silicon lids and eyelashes, ears, noses and a heart etc. Most of the talk was to do with their scanner and 3D printer. Instead of a surgeon repairing a smashed skull having to bend the metal plates to fit as best he can make them as he does the operation, the prosthetics people use their scanner to scan the patients head both sides. Then they use the software to flip the good side of a face image to become the broken side. A laser then shapes all the metal plates exactly before the operation. The surgeon then knows that screwing the plates where indicated will pull the face back into shape exactly. It saves time and guesswork on the operating table.

I've just forwarded one of those phishing emails to Santander's fraud people. It was the second one today. :-S

I never saw Dea's post Mel, FMP sent me an email.

I see you'd already breakfasted like a king Frank! :-) Hope you feel better now.

Off to bed for me now to watch Noel Fitzpatrick.

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDRA <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Have a lovely day with all the things you like. x

Morning all,

Not very nice here this morning grey skies and dull.

We've had two young bucks in the garden this morning play fighting. They've been around the garden twice. I did manage to get a pic but it was through a dirty window.

Good Morning Everyone

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 .HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SANDRA. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3.

I Hope you have a really lovely day with lots of cards and pressies .

It's also a very grey day here and still cold so the central heating is on,

Ann, the hospital talk sounded interesting. I remember when Richard had his first artificial eye fitted we were amazed at all the different shades of blue to find an exact match to his other eye and the actual shape of the eyes. I still have 2 of the original eyes.

Mel that must have been amusing watching the two Bucks playing on your property.

The sun has now come out so time for Ruby's walk after a struggle to get her harness on.

I hope Gill is OK as no posts yet and Jane has a good journey home and enjoyed her break

Frank Report 28 Apr 2017 12:06

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDRA" I hope you have a lovely day.

Good morning all, evening Kim.

I have been for my monthly injection this morning. Where do the months go. I only had a light jacket on, but BOY was I warm. The sun has some heat in it this morning. I was glad to get home and just put a T shirt on. Ros has to go to the nurse this afternoon for the results of her diabetic blood test.

Madam changed the bedding this morning that is now on the line having a blow in the breeze. It's just about moving. !!

We spoke with both Conrad and Harvey last night. Conrad is busy as always, and they have had wind and rain in Spain. Harvey told us Julia's son Jamie has got engaged, and is coming up from Bristol for the week end. They will come to us for dinner about 4.00 pm Monday, when Jamie leaves to go home. Ros has just gone to buy them a present and card.

I went to the pub again last night to see the United V City match. I took some dog chews to feed my dog pals. The two little Jack Russel's took them with no problem. BUT there was a Beagle there also, as I handed one to him, he snatched at it and BITE my thumb. I had blood running off the end of my thumb. I went and washed it, and covered it with toilet paper. I stopped bleeding soon after, and today you can only see one tiny mark. He won't be getting anymore from me BY HAND.

No idea what to have for dinner tonight. When Ros gets back I will see if she fancies F & C for a change.

Have a good afternoon all. SANDRA don't eat to many cakes and sweets

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Apr 2017 12:18

Poor you Frank with the bite on your hand after being kind to the beagle. At least it stopped quite quickly and you were able to go on watching the match.

Getting worried about Gill now, I hope she s'nt ill for Sandra's birthday as that would put the damper on things. I did wonder if they took her shopping yesterday and were all tired when they got home but not hearing anything this morning I'm a bit concerned.

Been up and had my blood test and the first time the nurse (Chris) stuck the needle in me se hit the vein and got a whole load of blood out. No mucking around like when the other nurse did it and I did'nt even feel her put the needle in so as you can imagine I was well pleased. She also weighed me and I had lost a kilo and a bit in the two months and that was without really trying apart from no coffee and tea.

Hope you are having a lovely day with lots of cards and presants.

Max went into the vets this morning for his op , i rang at one o 'clock and he is fine and we can pick him up about four this afternoon so I'm glad thats over .

What a little devil that dog was biting your thumb Frank ,perhaps he doesn't get many treats so thats why he snapped .

Suns out now but it has been a cloudy morning, got my bedding dry and some more in the machine to go out .

Afternoon All,

Hope Sandra is having a lovely time!!

:-DHAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDRA :-D

Yes, where is Gill, maybe she has computer problems?

Bedding and other washing drying on the line here too and another load ready to wash! :-)

No good night's sleep last night and I heard a vehicle driving slowly by the bedroom window at 3.45am. I thought it must be neighbours getting back from holiday, but saw it wasn't later this morning. OH asked if I'd checked my car was still there!!!!!! I hadn't even thought of that but it was.

We went to where the glass fusing class will be held and had lunch there today. It has changed hands since we last went and is very smart now, but had 'specials', two courses for £8.95. We both had the Somerset Pork, which had broccoli, beans and carrots and mash with it. OH had half my mash! Then he had a big helping of bannoffee pie with custard and I had a chocolate sundae.........he had to finish that off for me too!! lol. I went and tried the stairs which were quite steep, steep enough for me to struggle a bit so I have cancelled going to the class there. The manager there said she has the same trouble with the stairs, yet we both said the shallower steps up to platforms on the ground floor were fine for us. :-S

Anne I was amazed at how real the silicon felt last night and how detailed things were. They use magnets to hold some in place now and the colours are matched by scanning the person's skin tone in several places so things match even outside in a different light. The 2 who gave the talk are the only ones trained to use the equipment yet. They showed a lot of before and after pictures which were incredible and said a lot of people consider suicide or won't ever leave their home after awful disfigurement. These advances are giving people their confidence and lives back which is wonderful. They said the advancement is due to what has happened in previous wars and current wars.

Ros has a good report on her diabetics and will go again next year.

All the washing is dry and ready for ironing. I will do that tomorrow morning while she is shopping.

Strange that Gill hasn't been on today, hope everything is alright.

We have decided on F &C tonight. So no cooking for me.

Is Jane due back this afternoon/evening. ?? Hope she had a nice break.

Afternoon All

We got home just a short while ago,amd I just wanted to pop in here quickly to wish SANDRA A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY <3 <3 <3 <3.
I just have seen the pic of Max !!! Oh poor boy ,he does look sad there all dopey and with his horrible lampshade. How long will that have to stay on Mandy? He will no doubt be fine by the morning once he has slept off the anaesthetic.Maybe a little bit tender around his nether region and he will want to 'sit' nice and gently LOL

Liz your Clematis is absolutly beautiful. Lovely pics.

As I said this was just a quick look in.Haven't looked at any posts yet.

We have had a lovely couple of days and even managed to sit out several times at coffee shops and in the Hotel Garden in the sunshine.Just had a few spots of rain last night.

Must empty the case now and get the washing machine on. James is going to Jess for the weekend so i will get his dinner in the oven too now. Back to normal again !!!!

Oh Mandy, I bet it was horrid having to leave Max this morning! It's good that he's fine though and it should help him be more calm. He does look a bit sorry for himself!

Frank that Beagle hasn't been taught any manners has he. It must have been a shock getting nipped like that when the Jack Russells are so good.
