I tried the ring collar on Max and he doesn't like it at all he twists and turns like mad trying to get it off ,so much for keeping him calm :-S I think i will just have to take a chance and hope he leaves the scar alone ,i carn't have him lumping about in the crate all night like last night poor little man ,he's had a couple of licks on the scar but he's not continually going for it and there's no visible stitches to see for him to pull at .
Toby never had a collar on when he was done and i don't think Bonnie had one either .
No Jane i didn't turn the tele over as there was nothing i wanted to see :-D i told Colin i don't know how he can keep watching the repeat of his eye lids !!! :-D
I haven't seen Nicko since he brought me the Hot Cross Bun ,that was good of you to buy the Deodorant for the chap you did your good deed for the day and doesn't it make you feel good to think you've helped a little . Has Thomas settled down now ?
Sorry to hear your friend has passed away Mel ,he was a good age .
You've had a busy day Frank ,enjoy your takeaway .

Oh dear Mandy, he's just going to get upset with the ring collar as you say. :-S As he's leaving the wound alone he may be ok as you say. He may have had a couple of licks because of the strange smell. Who would have thought eyelids could be so interesting!!! :-D
That was a kind thing to do Jane. :-) I bet the man was really appreciative. He obviously cared about not being smelly poor chap.
Well today I got my first new £1 coin!!! Well 2 actually. I was beginning to think they weren't issuing any round here.

I have had two new pound coins on the day I posted Sandra's birthday present of the sewing box. I wonder if they will make the two pounds coins the same?
I don't blame Max chewing up the lampshade Mandy it must drive dogs mad. I know a friends dog kept walking backwards when they had one on trying to get out of it. I am sure he will be ok and the wound will soon heal.
Made another load of sausage rolls this afternoon. You should have seen oh's face when he walked in the back door and they were cooling on the cooker top, kettle on and a nice coffee to go with them.
Oh is going to move the bantam house for me in the mornng as I have a lot of brimbles growing behind it and up the hazel tree and the holly tree behind it so I can get there and cut them all down. Will try to dig them ou t too.
My knee did a huge click this morning as has been a lot better ever since.

Morning all,
Guess what? It's raining here and will be welcome by the garden but I hope it knows when to stop and dos'nt go on forever lik eit did before.
Got up late again! naughty me.
Oh has moved the bantam house for me and now I shall have to do the brimbles in the rain.
Hope Max was a good boy/girl in the night and did'nt lick his wound and is not feeling so sorry for himself today. Are the children coming this morning Mandy?

Afternoon all,
Ros is busy sorting out the dinning room table. She does all her needlework on it., which is the only space she has. With Harvey coming tomorrow, we will need the whole table.
All vegetables done and pork ready to go in the oven MUCH LATER, as I had TWO bacon rolls this morning.
I am going down to the "VEG PATCH" to see if I can put some bits in. The broad Bean plants are quite big in the greenhouse, as are the cabbage plants.
Glad MAX is alright this morning. He is a good boy if he is leaving the scar alone.
Don;t get too wet out in the garden Mel, I wish we could have a couple of days prolonged rain, as we are in desperate need of it.
See you later.

Afternoon all
Dry here today but windy with it and a fair bit of cloud so we may get your rain later Mel. So you're grounded LOL. How many sausage rolls are left, if I remember correctly didn't you say your OH goes mad and eats them quite quickly? My OH is the same, he loves them.
I've re-potted some of my plants this morning and had a good clear up of the rest of the leaves and weeds, now I'm watching to F1 with a cuppa. Lunch will be ready soon so I'll dish that up then relax for the rest of the day. I might take another look at my family tree while FMP have their records open for free.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to plant the seed potatoes I bought the other day. I was going to do it today but it got to late and the race started.
It sounds like you're going to be busy in your garden today Frank. I'm hoping for a bit of rain as our garden is bone dry. With having so many pot plants it takes ages to water them all with the hose pipe.

Afternoon all,
Lovely sunshine here but very windy ,i have the bath mats on the line having a good blow.
I didn't put the collar on Max last night as he hasn't really bothered to much about his scar so i just took a chance ,i had a look at the scar this morning and it looks ok . It's a job to keep him calm though as he wants to play and jump about but saýing that he hasn't gone to his toy box for his ball at all and the outside balls i have put out of sight . No Mel the children didn't come today as we have to keep Max calm ,we we're going to see them but Colin wanted to get on with some jobs outside as it was dry , we should get the rain tomorrow . I bought a new fly curtain for the back door ,it has two netty curtain strips that hold together with magnets and it was a bit long so i have turned it up and hung that this morning, i did have those streamer type last year but Max had fun and games pulling those down so hopefully he'll leave this curtain alone, i hate the flies coming in .
Don't over do it in the garden Frank there's always tomorrow .
Mel you'll have to have a crafting day as it's so wet your way .

Afternoon All NO RAIN here Mel. It is a bright ,sunny but very windy day .Pollen being blown around so lots of sneezing and sniffing going on. Fitz was here just now and we all sat out ,with a glass of wine ans some crisps and nuts.He was beginning to sneeze too. I have a couple of Pasties warming in the oven .I bought them in Hay .Bet they aren't like good old Cornish Pasties though. They will be ready in 20 minutes.
Ann,you asked if my bad nails are painful. They are ,but in a very weird way. It is because the nails are separating from the nail bed .It feels more like a deep bruise feeling .Just not easy to describe really.
I think Thomas has a full tummy (Rabbit) he is crashed out in the summerhouse. So I won't bother putting any wet food down for him at the moment.
How is our Max today? Hopefully on the mend now.
I have had one of the new £1 coins so far.I think Chris said he has had 2.I don't think any of the shop trolleys have been adapted yet for the new coin, probably car park machines haven't either .
Pasties ready :-D

Well I am BUSHED (bugg@@@d) I have planted two rows of Broard Beans eight rows of carrots that were part grown in pots. Cabbages (sweetheart ) and prepared the rest of the ground for onion sets and the runners later in the month. When does Chris and Mel plant theirs ?? I have found FOUR holes in my long hose that runs to the bottom of the garden, so that will need replacing. Ros would like one that fits on the wall and pulls out as far as you need it. I don't know if they make one long enough for my back garden, I will check on line later, plus the COST.
I am off to the shower and shave, then put my feet up with the paper or book. until Ros decides to come in.
The wind is getting up here, and I think I felt a bit of dampness in the air, so she might be in sooner than later !!!!

I see you posted earlier Mandy. Max sounds fine now doesn't he . :-D :-D Not easy though to try and keep him calm !. We have a metal chain fly screen on the back door..We had it made to fit the door years ago and it has been brilliant. We must have had it now for about 10 years.Trouble is the blasted flies still get in through the open windows :-S
We aren't doing potatoes this year Gill.Even though the few we had last year were really tasty. They were Charlottes .I am not sure what veg Chris has planted, but we seriously need some good rain here as everything is just so dry.I hope we get some decent carrots this year after 2 years of none to speak of . Is it still raining down with you Mel?
The Pasties were RUBBISH.Nothing like a good Cornish.

Sorry your pasties were rubbish Jane...... and yes its still raining here but has eased off a bit so it is only light now. Enough to mess your glasses up though.
Our poor Phil Pheasent has a bent under tow and today he can't walk on the foot (his right) he has taken ages to come down the garden and I have given him corn where he is at the bottom of the box hedge. I am hoping he will go under the table there as its nice and sheltered and dry under there.
Please Max is getting along ok Mandy. He should soon be on the mend now and able to play to his hearts content. I did think about getting one of those net curtains for our back door as we have a beaded one but that dos'nt stop the flies coming in. Its a job though with all the pheasents around the back patio and pooping all over the place. I have to keep washing it all away but it dos'nt seem to make much difference.
Oh has kindly brought in a bird poo and spread it right across the kitchen carpet. I had seen it on the step it was from a bird that has been eating the ivy berries as all the seed was in it and it was black from the berries. If it was'nt raining so hard when I spied it I would have swept it away but in not doing so I have made myself more work cleaning the bl**dy carpet. They say a stitch in time saves nine. :-( :-( :-(

Still raining....
I have scrubbed the rail in the cooker under the grill pan and cleaned the top glass hob so I think that is it for todays chores. Two jobs out of the way. I was going to clean the chickens out but I was'nt going to do that in the rain. They will have to wait till tomorrow if its dry then. The only good thing about today is we don't have that cold wind.

Evening All,
That's good Max left his wound alone overnight Mandy. A wise move to hide his outdoor balls! I can imagine him getting excited at finding one and wanting you to be throwing it for him! THANK YOU for mentioning the geraniums. I'll go this week as I need some washer tablets I get from there and some Bixies!
We hardly get any flies come through the back door, but I think it's because it is at the side of the bungalow where there tends to always be a slight breeze and it is shaded and cooler. The conservatory door round the back is a different matter and even with one of those plugin fly zappers there are always flies getting in there. :-S
This morning we went to the bead fair we've gone to before at a sports hall in Dunchurch. On the way we passed the posh Rugby School where OH did a presentation on the Home Civil Service when he was the Midlands Careers Co-ordinator years ago. He brought a few newspapers to read in the car while I was in the hall as there was no footie match there today. I have stocked up on some of the newer beads we'll be using at class from this Friday. These new beads are quite expensive so I think my purse was emptying quicker than my dish of beads was filling up!! :-0 It is good though to see what you are buying rather than buy online. Then we popped in Sainsbury,s for a COT and snack and then headed off to Ravenstone Hall which was holding it's first open garden for charity. OH used to live at Ravenstone for about 4 years and he had never heard of the place!! The garden was signposted so we found it and it was in a nice setting facing down a hillside with a large lake at the bottom. I sat in the car for a while as my knees were not happy after standing for an hour at the bead fair, but when OH came back he said there were Alpacas and an Ostrich around the corner so I pottered along to see them. There were also Rheas and we found one right near the fence with a clutch of huge eggs. They had a pair of black swans on the lake as well as lots of noisy geese. They had done a lot of work planting in the garden and hope to open again at the end of May so we might go again. When we got home we had Chicken Veronique which I'd made last night. It was a low calorie recipe though without the cream and with grape juice instead of wine. Instead of rice we had couscous and pearl barley with it and OH said it looked like wichetty grubs!! How very dare he!! He polished it all off though and wants it again.
Frank you did well to do all that planting but it's a nuisance the hose has those holes. We laid hose under the gravel when we redid the back garden and the ends poke up into the flower beds where you can connect to. We meant to do it along to the front garden but never got round to it. I meant to say how good young Lewis was to refuse his dad's offer to pay his car insurance again. He's learning to budget and stand on his own two feet which will take him far in life. Many these days are only too happy to use the bank of mum and dad rather than wait or go without something else.
It's going to be a problem with trolleys and carpark machines till they've all been changed over to the new £1 coin. I think I shall start to accumulate more 50p pieces from now on, at least you know they will fit.
Mel, it wasn't you who made the extra job, it was THE ONE who brought it in on his shoes! He should have had the extra job shouldn't he. lol.
Shame about the pasties Jane, but you don't know till you bite into them. What happens to your carrots then? Do they just not come up? Or do they get eaten by carrot fly larvae?
Hope you are getting better Gill. You have been busy outside with your repotting. Will most of the plants be planted in the garden eventually? I remember having lots in pots when we redid our back garden and it is hard work watering all the time. We could do with some rain here too.

I remember you saying you had a chain fly screen Jane didn't you get it caught round your neck ?
We've had a nice sunny afternoon we sat out with a cuppa ,it's one of those days when it felt warmer out than in .
So you've got a couple of jobs done then Mel ,it's still quite windy here .
Frank we have one of those pull out hoses they are good ,just pull until you hear the click and then you know it's locked ,then pull again to release and wind in ,you have to make sure you hold it tight though as it can snatch from your hand . Could you lay and hide the hose with the holes in on the garden ,put a few more holes in it and you have a Irrigation pipe .

Put some electrical tape round the hose when its dry. We have that yellow big hose coming down from the well and that had a hole in it and it was a spit so oh taped it up with tape and its worked a treat. Make sure you go a long way each side of the hole.
Mandy do you mean you have one of those hoses that expands when you turn the water on? The green ones? We need so much hose pipe in this garden. When I see one going cheap I buy it and it always gets used.
