What lovely photo's of Ruby Anne, she certainly looks as if she's planning something :-D I love her big ears......what a cutie <3
Well, you've had a good day bargain wise today Frank, pity about the weather though. We still have the sun and it's as hot as ever. Rosie has just turned up for her dinner and wouldn't come down nearer the bungalow where we normally feed her as the sun was there, so she just sat in the shade further down the garden and waited for me to go to her.......she's not daft is she?
OH didn't take all the rubbish today Mandy as it was far to hot in the car, so he'll take some more tomorrow morning when it's a bit cooler. We are going to dig over the new border we've made tomorrow morning to then on Friday move some of the large plants as they are in the way at the moment and will almost fill the new border. It'll also save us having to buy large plants which aren't cheap. I have a few pots plants I'm going to put in the new border too. Sorry to hear about your solar lights, 2 foot long is very short so I don't blame you for taking them back. Do you have a Home Bargain near you? When we looked at solar lights in there they had lots to choose from with very long wires, it might be worth taking a look. Their prices weren't to bad either.
Just going to start dinner now, I'm having spag boll. All the pollen has got to me today so my throat and eyes are a bit sore even though I took a tablet, so the spag boll will be easier to eat. Sandra and OH haven't made their minds up yet what they want.

Gill it turned a it colder here this afternoon as we had a very cold wind today but it has been dry. You would'nt have been too hot down here. Even oh went into his workshop to work on something off the dumper to keep out of the wind.
I love the pics of Ruby. Those ears turning back really make me smile the cheeky little devil looking to se e how to escape into the garden.
Wjhat a good shop you had today Frank with your hosepipe and greenhose shelf a good priced beer and lunch out. Does that mean no cooking for you tonight?
I'm cooking sheep sh*t pie so I better get on or it will be too late for oh to eat it.

Evening All,
Yes, we found it was cold and windy after lunch and stuck the heating on when we got home. That is a good length of hose Frank and would reach our neighbours' gardens too. When we were sorting MIL's house they had one of those on the reel self wind ones on their wall, but we had a bit of a game rewinding it as it kept stopping winding and the hose jamming so the one you have got should be better. Mind you the problem with MIL's might be to do with the way FIL used it........not the most patient!!
Gill you are gradually getting there with the garden, each day a bit more is done. :-) At least the hedge is more under control now. I keep meaning to ask how the new car is doing?
How awful your hands/fingers are in this state just before you go away Jane. I hope they settle down before you travel. It can't be easy doing the things you need to do to get ready for your holiday. Hopefully the court will soon grant permission for the travellers to be evicted from the nature reserve. They were silly to even think they would be allowed to stay there, but I suppose it buys them some time. I feel sorry there isn't much tolerance of them as their children get bullied at school and they all get tarred with the same brush, but they play a part too when they behave like this. Your lunch tomorrow with Fitz sounds nice.
I hope Max is healing nicely Mandy and not missing his balls too much.......oops just realised how that sounds! I meant to say his play balls......what are you all like!! ;-) lol. We went to a brand new Lidl store near the city today and it would rival M&S for being clean, spick and span and with really fresh produce. It was like being in a foreign land though with all the different languages being spoken around us. I bought 5 of those geraniums Mandy and managed to get two red ones this year as well as the bright pink ones. At that price OH said I should go back for some more. I think I might pop to Aldi tomorrow and see what plants they have as well.
I wonder what triggered Chris's shoulder pain Jane. Maybe it was being in one position so long in the cinema. OH has had a bad back today after shifting stuff around in the garden but after his bath he says it seems to have eased.
I shall be off to bed soon as I was awake all night till 5.30 am and got up and made a COT then. I'd just dropped off when OH woke me and reminded me I needed to move my car ready for the workmen coming nextdoor! :-S

Have to go to the doc's this morning to see the results of my second blood test. Hope they are ok and I can start to have my COT in the mornings again. I don't often drink coffee so hav'mt really missed that but I do love my cupps. I have got quite used to my milk and water made like tea but o for a real cuppa. Appointments for 11.45am so I won't be around then for a while.
I may go into Holsworthy after lunch to get chicken food and some bits for oh like WD forty as he has used my little can I keep in the kitchen cupboard.

Good Morning Mel, and all, evening Kim.
Ann you still have me laughing about Max missing his BALLS. Each time I think of it I smile to myself again. LOL LOL.
Gill, you are the "LUCKY ONE" having all that sunshine. The forecast was very good for the North West. So glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it will save you a fortune if you can transplant the larger bushes, lets hope they take alright. Keep them well watered. !!
What are we going to do with you Jane ?? Would it help if you took me with you and I could carry your case. I wouldn't be any trouble HONEST !! <3 <3 <3
Ros is at "STITCHERY DO" today. She is making a statue out of wire, covered in one of my old T shirts, then covered in resin. It will sit in the garden when finished.
Thanks for the photo's Mel, The wasps nest. It that of the queens nest ?? We had a massive wasps nest in the attic at Gayton and there was a tiny one, which I was told was the Queens. The Deer look happy walking around a nice mowed meadow. ;-) ;-)
I popped out to the garage earlier, and it's still cold in that Easterly wind. Yesterday while sitting in Tesco's reading the paper, a woman mentioned how cold it was and said "I bet they are sending it from Europe" that made me smile.
Knowing Ros needed to be up at 8.00 am I didn't really sleep after I got out at 5.00 am. I dozed and clock watched until I gave her a nudge at 8.10 am. She them bought me a COT in bed with my Asprin. I had that a laid with the Radio for half an hour.
Shin of beef tonight, mash and various Veg.
Keep warm if you are working in the garden. I might put her Greenhouse rack together. She can then transfer all her plants from the damaged one.
VOTING TODAY ROUND NORTHANTS.

Good afternoon
I woke up this morning and for some reason I thought it was Sunday. Cold again and I have had the heating on
Mel,I hope your trip to the Drs goes well and you can go back to having your cuppas again. Loved the photos of the deer family, how nice to have them on your land. Never seen a wasps nest before and didn't realise they were so intricate.
Jane so sorry that your sore fingers are causing you so much grief and hope they have shown signs of improvement before your trip. It must be so stressful for Larry having Travellers on the Nature reserve that he cares for, has he had any luck getting them moved on yet?
Just rang Battersea dogs home at Old Windsor to see if they would accept quite a lot of puppy food that Ruby won't eat, I've got tins and sachets of pedigree chum, Butchers, nature diet and some dry food, she is going to see if anyone working there can come and pick it up as it's quite near to here hopefully they can arrange it.
Gill it sounds as if your garden is well under control, you have been working very hard on it.
Ann you were fortunate getting some bargain geraniums in Lidle, hopefully Aldi may have some bargains too, they do have some lovely plants if they haven't been in the shop for too long but I have found they aren't all that good at watering them at our store..
Had a Sainsbury delivery as usual and taken Ruby for her morning walk, she's fast asleep at the moment so gives me chance to come on here, when she's awake I need eyes in the back of my head. I love her to bits but she is a real handful when she gets going.

Back from the docs and got told off for being late for my appointment. If I had'nt had to wait in the surgery to see the receptionist I would'nt have been late. I waited 7 mins and the doc came out of behind the desk and dispensary bit and went into her room and still I waited and then she came out and called me in and siad I was late and I only had one minuet left of my appointment. She said she came out at the time and I was'nt there.
Anyway still no tea or coffee or alcohol but she said the liver was ok now. I suppose she meant that there was'nt so much fat around it!! now I have another pill to take each day which will block any caffine and see how that gets on. I can stay on the antihystamins one a day as they seem to be working with my midge bites I get so thats good.
They did'nt have the new tablets so I have to go and pick them up tomorrow.
Suns out here now and it feels warmer out than in now.
Anne I bet the dogs home will be glad of all your left over food for their inmates. What a kind thought. Little Miss Mischief is still keeping you on your toes then. I seem to have lost track of how old she is now? Can we have a pick of your garden please?

I have just bought FOUR £1.00 coins with the middles out. I thought I would just look on Ebay to see what pieces were like. They are advertised for up to £25,000.00. No you are not being kidded. What on earth can these people be thinking.?? I have had a bargain at £3.00 each. I will put them away with all my other odd and memorable purchases for Lewis, from WW 2 medals, and WW 1. Photo's of some of my dads old ships he served on during WW 1 Commemorative coins of RAF fighters throughout the years, Falklands War etc etc.
Ann, If Battersea don't want that food, I am sure the PDSA or local dogs rescue would be pleased with the donation. With the Bank Holiday I have been all over the place with days. I think we are getting old !!
Mel, I have had the same treatment at my Doctors. I have arrived ON TIME sat for ages, then he says you were late so I saw someone else. Bl@@dy Cheek. !!!
Still very cold here, with a strongish wind. Dos is up the Scouts Hut today. That is always cold even in the summer. So I will put the heating on, in time for her getting home. We will have to go and vote before 10.00 pm.

Afternoon all
Lovely and sunny again here today and still as hot as ever, although there is a nice breeze which kept us cool while we were working in the garden. The border has now been dug over, what a job that was with all the roots from the hedge and other plants we took out. We had to be careful of the hedge roots but it was still hard going and took us 5 hours to do. OH has taken all the rubbish down the tip and has nipped to the shop for me to pick up a few bits. He is going to give the new border a good soaking later as it's as hard as concrete with not having any rain for so long. I've added some compost to the dry soil so when he waters it later it should retain some of the moisture. We are going to move the plants tomorrow then of course we'll need to give them a good drink every day until they settle in.
I had a terrible nights sleep last night, I saw every hour until the alarm went off at 7.30 this morning, so know doubt I'll sleep tonight. We went and voted before 9am this morning as we knew we'd been busy in the garden then to tired and mucky afterwards to go, so that's been done. Need to go again next month, but I must remember to take my glasses as, I had to ask the lady there if she could help me as I couldn't see to read the person I wanted to vote for, thankfully she did help but had to check first if she was allowed......talk about embarrassing.
How are your hands today Jane, I do feel for you, it must be awful. Good idea of Ann's to cover the handle of your bag to soften it for you. I hope the courts hurry up and the travellers are soon gone, that must be a worry for your BIL. Let's hope the wildlife are okay too. Hope Chris's shoulder is feeling better today.
Love the photo's of the deer's Mel, Sandra said it reminded her of Bambi....bless her <3 Seeing the wasps nest reminded me of the problems we had in our old house, we ended up with three one year and had to get someone out to get rid of them. One was above the front door, we only noticed it when we had to get a new door. The fella who was fitting the door wasn't to happy and kept jumping every time he saw a wasp, mind you I don't blame him as I've been stung a few times and it's no joke. So you got told off at the doctors, a bit of a cheek as it was there fault. Hopefully next time will be better. Pleased to hear your liver is much better now.
I nearly said the same thing as you Ann to Mandy over Max's balls and had to think before I typed so it didn't sound wrong. :-D The new car is brilliant although it's got a smaller boot than our last one so extra trips to the tip now as OH was a bit worried about the weight, but it's good on the petrol so we can't complain. OH took it to the garage the day before Sandra's birthday as it had a radio in there that we needed a code for, the fella at the garage took it out and put our CD/Radio in for free, it was a lovely surprise for Sandra when we went out the next day (her birthday) as she loves to listen to her music, she had a beaming smile on her face when OH put her favourite radio channel on.
It sound like you got a good investment Frank with your pound coins, they were talking about them on the news last night, so it'll be worth keeping hold of them as there are lots of people who collect the ones with mistakes. £25.000 is a heck of a lot of money though, I doubt I'd pay that, no matter how rare it was.
How nice of you Anne to offer the dog food to Battersea, they'll be so grateful of it. Yes, we've been working hard this week on the garden but have decided to just do a few hours each day rather than go mad like we did last year with the back garden. It seems to be working and is less stressful. Mind you, being the front garden all the neighbours keep stopping and talking so it might take a little longer than we first thought. It gives us a break though while we chat so we don't mind as it's been so hot.
Going to get a cuppa now, I'm quite thirsty.

Ros is back and gone out again. Carolyn is home from Hastings and needed to go yo Tesco. As I have used all the veg in the fridge, I have a LONG list of what I need, so she gone of to get them.
The statue she has made is beautiful. It's of a lady in a long dress with one leg being held out to show off the dress. It has lace over it's hair and part of the face. It needs to stay indoors for a couple of days to dry right off. Then it will find a place in the garden to be admired. The "teacher" has given her instructions of how to make them at home. She has managed to get it wet, so when dried I will try to copy and send it on to any of you who are interested. If only I could find my Camera, I would take a photo.

Afternoon All
When is this wind going to calm down?It is really strong. Great for the washing on the line though :-D
Hands bad today .The red patches that appeared are now beginning to get thick scales which are starting to peel :-S.I have swapped the full cotton gloves at the moment for knitted fingerless gloves as they have a lovely soft lining which gives a bit of padding .It just seems to b getting worse at the moment. Any way enough about them
Anne,I can't see Battersea turning down the offer of free food. How far is Battersea from you? I bet they have someone who will go to collect donations. Our Asda has a shop trolley in the store that anyone can drop pet food ,bedding etc in for a local animal sanctuary.Great idea.It is along side the trolley for food bank donations.
Mel those young Deer are lovely. They look quite at home there :-D That wasps nest looks so small, but really neat.Like a little meringue LOL
Thomas brought home a present last night... Big Rat ! Luckily it was dead, but Thomas's lovely white bib and mouth were really red ! :-S :-S.. Even now the side of his mouth is still pink!!. I think he bit the rats neck through a big blood vessel. Chris was a wimp and made me pick it up and dispose of it. I hope we don't get another one tonight.
Frank ,The Statue Ros has made sounds perfect for a spot in your garden. Hope yu can find the camera so we can have a butchers :-D :-D
I took my soup and bread down to Fitz for lunch. The soup was really tasty.I didn't stay long as I had too much to get on with here. Chris has taken over the ironing for me now as I can't hold the iron any longer. It presses right into the parts of my hand which are not good.He has also made up the bed for Hannah and Gareth .He is a good man when I need him to be :-D :-D.He had a nice lunch out and got all the gossip from Sue .I now realise why it is so difficult to get appointments sometimes at the surgery I go to. The Senior GP has been off now for 6 months after a Heart attack.Chris reckons he must have had complications as normally someone would be back at work after 2 or 3 months.Another GP is also off long term with Breast Cancer.
Mel you obviously weren't late for your appointment at the Drs. Sounds like you got a ticking off for no reason. :-S. Good your liver result was good, but pity you will still be off Caffeine . I have my bloods on Monday to check liver after 2 weeks pius on these anti fungal tabs.
Cant' type more now.

Jane so sorry to hear your hands are flaring up again do you know what causes it? Pleased to hear Chris is doing most of the chores to help out.
Mel I will get Richard to take some photos of the garden, it's not very interesting at the moment because the Roses aren't out and a lot of bulbs are still in the tubs and dying off now. Like Ann, I'm hoping to get some geraniums at the week end for the tubs

Well it's a good job poor Max carn't read with you talking about his balls !! :-D he is missing playing ball poor boy .
Frank i thought you meant this statue was going to modeled on you !! :-D as it's got one of your t shirts :-D only joking will look forward to seeing it as it does sound nice .
That's good the dog food is being collected Anne i bet they were very pleased to have it ,it must cost a lot to feed all the strays in Battersea ,that's your good deed for this week .
Oh Jane your poor hands i don't know how you manage to get things done with them being so sore ,i keep thinking of that poor little girl ( carn't think of her name now ) she had that peeling skin condition and her mum had to cream her up several times a day ,come to think of it i think there were two girls and they cried with the pain . Thats a good idea of Ann's to use the seat belt cover on your suitcase handle . Do you have the same scaly problem on your feet ? if so i should think it's jolly painful to walk to far . Any news on the travellers ? i bet your BIL is worried and keeping an eye on them .
So another good day in your garden Gill ,by the time the summer gets here you'll be all nicely tidy and you'll be able to sit back and enjoy the lovely garden

O dear lots of questions I know but it must be very painfull fo r you.
When you pick up Thomas's presents of a dead rat I hope you pick it up by the scruff of the neck and NOT by it tail. The tail goes through the urin which is where you can get the desease and if you have bad hands with open sores you are more prone to get it.
Read this
WEIL’S DISEASE AND LYME’S DISEASE WEIL'S DISEASE Weil's disease (leptospirosis) is a bacterial infection carried in the urine of mammals. It contaminates water and banks of canals, ponds, rivers and ditches. The risk of infection is especially high in slow moving rivers or stagnant water. The disease is spread to humans when broken skin or mucous membranes come into contact with water or mud contaminated by rat urine. People at risk The people most at risk are those exposed to contaminated water or river banks due to occupation or leisure interests. These include practical conservation projects on slow moving water and habitat surveys on river banks as well as canoeing, sailing, water skiing and other water sports. How serious is it? The disease is serious and needs hospital treatment. The illness can quickly lead to kidney or liver failure which could be fatal. Recent statistics show that although Weil's disease is very rare, one infected person in nineteen is likely to die as a result of infection. What are the symptoms? Symptoms start 3 to 19 days after exposure to the contaminated water. The early symptoms are similar to flu, with aching joints, raised temperature and muscle pains, especially in the calf muscles. If these symptoms occur, contact your doctor immediately, advising him or her of your possible exposure to the Weil's disease bacteria. Early diagnosis and treatment is essential for recovery from the illness.
How to Avoid Infection DO Cover with waterproof plasters or gloves, all scratches, cuts, sores and skin affected by eczema etc
Wash your hands before you eat. Always wash or shower after any water sports or conservation work.
Avoid capsizing in canoes etc. But if necessary use a mask or nose clip. Always wash or shower afterwards
See you doctor if you feel unwell following involvement in water sports or conservation work.
DON’T
Put wet fishing line, ropes or other objects in your mouth
Go in or near water without wearing footwear.
Pick up or touch dead animals especially rats without wearing gloves

Good morning to you all, Evening to our Kim,
Clear blue sky's this morning, but that Easterly wind is still cold.
I laid in bed this morning after Ros had opened the curtains and watch two Blue Tits hanging on the side of the conservatory window pecking up little insects/spiders, or whatever they were. They were moving along the windows for about ten minutes.
I will take a photo of the statue on my telephone, then see if I can load it on the laptop to send it on. It might work.
I am sure Ros wouldn't want me as a model, especially in a dress lol lol.
What's your plans for today. ?? stay warm if you are outside.
How are things this morning Jane any better after a good nights rest ??
That's very good of you Mel, to put all that information about the Disease's. It's a wonder I have never caught something, with all the fishing line that went through my lips over the years.

Morning Frank and all,
O what a night, late December back in 63..............
Lay there and lay there and could'nt go to sleep for the life of me. Got so cross with myself I tossed and turned and pumped up my pillow and oh was snoring his head off beside me. Got up as it was getting light for a visit to the loo then went back to bed where I must have fallen asleep a little while later. Then the dreams started... Can't really remember the first one but the second one I was making a lime green jacket with big patch pockets for a Barbie Doll and also mauve slacks to go with it. All hand stitched and my made up pattern.
After that I wole at 20 to 11am.
Got dressed and came out here and oh had done his wahing and it was on the line!!
It was the last of The Last Kingdom last night. Thats a lot of Lasts in that Last sentance! I shall be sorry to see it go as I really enjoyed it. I know Carmel watched it too. Sending wishes to Carmel and William. He must be very busy looking after his little Colleen now she is home again. <3
