Afternoon Doctor Frank, afternoon all

Lovely and sunny here again today, so OH and I have took one of the large plants out of it's pot and planted it in a big gap we had in the front garden. Of course it didn't stop there....you all know what I'm like, so I've watered the garden and re-potted another plant as the roots were coming out of the bottom of the pot and trying to go into the ground. I noticed we had a lot of aphids on our Lupin's so I got the hose pipe on it and they have now fallen to the ground, no doubt they will be back again, but hopefully not for a while.

Sorry to hear your in pain today Frank, hope it eases soon. I've got the same problem with one of my valance sheets, it's a double on a Queen size bed, so I need to sew it to make it fit too. We don't use that bed and it's not as long as yours so it can't be tripped over, but I might sort it out before my mum comes to stay in a few weeks. She needs to go into hospital and they have to put her under so she needs to stay with someone for 12 hours. With her living on her own she can't go home from the hospital, so that's why she's staying with me overnight, just so I can keep an eye on her to make sure she's okay.

Yes, Mel, I found a line of siblings I'd forgotten about so I'm now trying to find their spouses and children. It's proving to be a bit difficult as for some reason one of the sibling's changed his surname to a random one, luckily I found his death but now I'm wondering if his sibling's changed their surname to the same as his. As normal more questions than answers so I'm going to take another look today to see if I have more luck finding them than yesterday. Hope your aches go soon, that's the problem with doing the garden, you feel it the next day. You were lucky Mr Fox didn't get your girls, but at least they were enjoying the sunshine this morning rather than being caught out in the rain.

Well, I'll go and take another look at my tree, wish me luck :-) :-)

Forgot to say Frank, I didn't ring around yesterday for the quotes as OH was in work and I wasn't sure what he wanted to keep that we already have so I'm going to do it tomorrow when he's here to let me know what he wants. He doesn't like making phone calls and I've worked in a few offices in my time so he prefers me to do it, plus I'm a cheeky girl and always ask for discounts. He's not as cheeky as me and will except what ever they offer.

Its been raining here since I put the washing out. I knew I should'nt have done it. :-(

I have washed up the big breakfast things and then played cards on the pc. Must go and corn the chickens and then see what else I can find to do. Maybe finish off the ironing :-(

Gill are your people you are looking up on the census up to 1911, if so I could take a look.

Evening all. DIXON OF DOCK GREEN.

Just finished an enormous ROAST DINNER. The plates were so full, I didn't notice I haven't put the potato's on the plate. They were still in the saucepan with fresh mint and better sprinkled on them. We soon found room on the plates.

Mel It's something we have always done. When I leave the skins on Ros peels them herself, I will, and do eat the skins. (best part of the spuds) so they say.

Ros managed to get the whites wash all dried. I will try to iron it tomorrow morning or Tuesday.

Gill would you like me to send the sheet that Ros cut off ?? You could attach it to yours :-D :-D :-D Hope you get on alright with the quotes tomorrow. FLASH your eyebrows at them, that usually works. LOL LOL.

Blowy old evening here, and it looks like we could get more rain, which we need badly

I see my West Ham were beaten by Liverpool this afternoon FOUR NIL. what a disaster I think I should change my team.

Mel don't forget to put the girls away tonight. :-P :-P :-P

Evening all,

It's been a lovely day here ,lots of sun and those billowing white clouds , i love watching the clouds when they are like that .

You were lucky there wasn't a fox about Mel leaving the girls out all night , have you seen any signs of the fox lately ?

I was going to ask how the rib of beef went down Frank but i see you have enjoyed a nice full plate of it :-D
We have just finished our roast chicken which we were ready for as we've had a good day getting lots of jobs done ,one job Colin wanted to do was to put up some new hooks for all the garden tools in the shed so we had all the tools down and had a good sort out ,Colin got the hooks up and we've put all the tools back it looks so much tidier now .
We have quite a bit of rubbish for the tip tomorrow .

You asked if Katie was a little terror Frank the answer is no she is the little sweetheart of the five , always wants a kiss and a cuddle and will do any thing you ask her too.

Lovely evening here now so it's walkies time for Max .

Annx Report 14 May 2017 20:39

Evening All,

Little Katie looks so nice as a princess Mandy and has a lovely smile, but then all your grandchildren are smiley! Max looks so healthy with his shiny black coat! OH said he looks as if he's been polished like a pair of Grenadier's boots!! lol :-) We need to get stuck in with clearing the garage. We have FIL's tools and gardening things as well as our own in there.

Gill, it isn't really being cheeky, it's expected that people haggle! I have just switched our gas and electric again and saved over £200. Tomorrow I shall see what I can save on OH's car insurance! :-) Once I have found the lowest quote I shall ring the current insurer and ask them if they can better their renewal quote. They like to keep you if they can so it's worth a try. :-)

Frank, the potato skins are good fibre for your system. Sometimes they can be half peeled already with new potatoes. I use one of those square kitchen scouring pads to fetch the rest off the skin off then with a scourer I keep just for that. You may find one of those easier on your hands than scraping. It sounds like you really enjoyed your dinner. :-)

We went to the new place we've been going for lunch and had just got tucked into our quiet corner when a woman with 3 young children came in, two boys and a girl. They were all shouting at the tops of their voices and one boy had a hacking cough but his mother was busy on her phone and never suggested he cover his mouth. They plonked themselves on a table next but one to us (there are only 3 tables in that part) and were soon hankering to go outside. Instead of going just around the corner to go out, she opened the double fire exit door next to us and stood holding it open with a gale blowing cold air in while she stood watching them. (it's a pair of glass doors so she could see through them). She then sat down but as it is with children they wanted to come back in 5 minutes later and she was fiddling with the catch to let them in. She was struggling with it so OH told her there was another door just a few steps further along they could come in through. She said she hadn't realised, but still stood with the flippin door open as they ran in and out every few minutes. A couple came and sat at the remaining table, but disappeared after a few minutes of seeing what was happening!!! :-S

We went to another open garden near Melton Mowbray this afternoon. I'll see if I can sort a few pics to send tomorrow.

Mel, is doesn't seem long since you left the chucks out all night before!

Frank

Frank Report 14 May 2017 20:51

Well the DURRELLS are on. It gets sillier each week, I just can't sit there and watch it.

Grantchester on at 9.00 so will watch that, if no good I will go off to my radio and an early night.

Mandy I am so pleased that Katie is a little sweetheart. It's so nice when children behave themselves, I can't stand spoilt children that never do as the are ask or told.

We must start to sort out our sheds and garage. We keep piling stuff inside the doors and never get round to sorting it out. Just like the LOFT, we pull down the ladder and put things into it and the box's etc just seem to pile up.

I think we have enough beef over, either to do another roast or cold meat and chips tomorrow. I will go along with whatever Madam wants.

Had to smile earlier. On Facebook he said his wife is 50 today. The party started at 1.00pm. The landlady said if anyone named Richard Smith and could prove they came from the Village their drinks would be 50 pence each. I posted that I had changed my name by deed poll to Richard Smith, and I would be down later. Of course I didn't go, but I am sure it caused a laugh.

Very quiet on here this evening. Is everybody tired out from all your gardening ??

I'VE SHUT THE BIG GIRLS IN TONIGHT BEFORE I DID ANYTHING ELSE.

Made 23 sausage rolls this evening and we had some with our cheese and biccies. I even got extra kisses tonight for making them!!!!!!! 4 instead of 3.

It stopped raining a little while ago and was quite a bright evening.

I have been seeing the barn owl lately a few times now. you don't notice them till they have flown past you as they are silient fliers.

Katie is a right poser bless her little heart. Love her outfit. Iv'e seen those in Morrisons.

Ann it makes you wonder with people with children why they have to sit near older people when there are plenty of other places they could have sat.

Well I am now going to watch Granchester and go to bed so see you all inthe morning. Hope you have a good nights sleep tonight all of you.

Morning all,

Another dull and miserable wet day so I for one won't be going outside to work up the garden.

Had strange dreams again last night about our new neighbours out the front where oh sold some of his land a year or so ago. I spoke to them on Saturday as they were planting some plants in the garden from the farm. Emma who I deliver the eggs too is their elderst daughter so they will be living next door to her.

It was something to do with a water tank for watering the plants.

Frank

Frank Report 15 May 2017 10:43

I won't say "GOOD" just Morning, evening Kim,

Horrible wet and windy day here. I put the heating on when we got up, just to warm everywhere up.

Carolyn was on the phone at 9.00 am to see if Ros wanted to go with her to the sewing machine shop, as hers needs a service. It seems she can't go anywhere without Ros. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I don't know how Tony and Val are fairing in St. Ives. If it's like it is here,
they will spend the day in the hotel, or coffee shops.

It's such a shame that your meal is spoilt with young children running about. I think I would have been inclined to have words with the Manager to see about moving my table. I don't think parents should take their children out if they can't behave.

We certainly won't be doing anything outside today. Hospital and back and thats it !!

I have kept my wrist and thumb managed all night. It feels a little easier with a bit of support. So will re do it when I get showered.

Stay dry !! if you are out and about, see you later.

Annx Report 15 May 2017 15:51

Afternoon All,

What a change from yesterday! Windy wet and chillier! :-S

Yes, Frank, at one of the places we go to families have their own area and there are signs up saying 'no children beyond this point'. It is a good idea as the staff aren't tripping over them with hot food when they are racing about either! It's not all families, as last week a mother with 2 young girls sat near us and they happily chatted away quietly with their colouring books when they weren't eating. There are so many children that seem to have no boundaries nowadays though and who are allowed to shout and squabble while darling mother is texting oblivious to what they are doing.

OH is pleased as he has been reappointed after the interview he went to the other day. Not such good news though was that a lady he covers meetings for when she can't and she does the same for him, has an aggressive breast cancer. It looks like he will be out and busy covering a lot more meetings for a while.

I'm meeting up with 2 old work friends in a few weeks. One had a mastectomy over a year ago and the husband of the other had a bleed on the brain last september and has now had a heart attack last month and is needing full time care. She only retired last October.

I must get the leg of lamb ready in it's tin tonight so I can pop it in the oven first thing in the morning. A nice slow long cook and hopefully it will fall off the bones like Frank's!!! ;-)

Better go and clean the white bathroom tiles at the shower end of the bath. I think it was a mistake having the satin finish instead of gloss finish as it means they are harder to clean!! OH is off to a match at Walsall with his pal later so I may go and have a mooch around the retail park. I need some plastic wallets from WH Smith to sort my beading patterns into. It takes me ages to find the ones I want so a bit of order is needed!

Been helping Gill today and thats all Iv'e done apart from feeding the hens etc.

I need to top up the bird feeders too and I hav'nt seen Robby Baldrick today either not even for mealworms.

Frank Report 15 May 2017 17:16

Well, I hope I can type so you understand me. I was at the hospital for my appointment at 1.45. as was seen almost as soon as we walk in. But that's when it ended. Into this room for drops, then an eye test and more drops, andd another room for more drops., I was getting fed up to the teethh, when I was called in to another room, for guess what. MORE BLOODY DROPS. At this stage I could,\t see a thing. They ended up telling me I have a swelling behind the left eye, and have to go back ion SIX WEEKS. I was given a prescription for more drops, but couldn't be bothered to walk almost a mile to the dispensary, Ros will collect them tomorrow when she's out with Carolyn.

We then went to out local eatery, I went over the top and had FOUR PINTS. I couldn't see anything around me and was glad to get home. Ros was not impressed with me drinking that much in the afternoon. But who cares. I don't.

Now in my dressing gown and ready to close my eyes, until I can see better.

Annx

Annx Report 15 May 2017 18:38

Hope you can see a bit better by now Frank. I've never known so many eye drops!! It's bad enough after one lot. It was sensible not to walk to the dispensary with blurry vision in case you tripped on something or fell.

Well, I'm in a 'can't be bothered' mood today and haven't done anything except order some beads for this weeks class. Just as I think I have a good selection of beads, we get a new pattern with some different beads to use. lol :-)

Time for a COT I think.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 May 2017 19:08

I see Ann is repesting herself now!

Iv'e been in that mood all day too Ann. I have been working on Gill's tree with her all day.

Poor you Frank but I bet the four pints helped wash al the srops out of your sytem. Mum often had to have about three lots of eye drops when I used to take her to the hospital. She complained about not being able to see afterwards and if it was sunny on the way home it was even worse. Worse too when she forgot her sunglasses.

It was so nice to hear from Liz the other day and know now that she can do most things so is nearly back to normal. <3

Good evening all

It's been miserable here today as well but still managed to go for a walk with Ruby in between the showers.

I haven't done much today either. had my usual Monday morning chat with my eldest SIL she was on the phone for over an hour, I always enjoy our chats.

Frank that wasn't a nice experience having all those eye drops, I hope you can see ok again now

Ann I can understand how you felt trying to enjoy your meal in a civilised way and having so much disruption close by. When our three sons were young we never ate out because of Mark being hyperactive due to Aspergers, back in the 60's children seem to be better behaved when out anyway. When we bought our static caravan in the Peak District we chose a sight for over 30's only.

Loved the photo of your little granddaughter Mandy she is a real little cutie. Max looks really comfortable on your lap bless him.

Gillx Report 16 May 2017 10:49

Morning all

Another dull day here today, it sounds like the new neighbours next door but one to us, the other side of Mr Grumpy are having more trees cut down, it's so noisy out there, I'm surprised Sandra is still asleep....Spoke to soon, she's just woken up LOL.

That was a lot of eye drops Frank, no wonder you couldn't see properly. I think you deserved the four pints after all that. Hope everything is alright today.

Yes, I notice how disruptive some children can be in public places Ann. Our children weren't allowed to run around and be a nuisance, we taught them to sit down and behave so they were very good when we were out. It's the way I was brought up too.

Love the pictures of Ruby Anne, she's getting big now isn't she?

I was busy with my tree all day yesterday, Mel, you were a great help thank you <3 <3 I think that line was one I first did around 20 years ago when I didn't know what I was doing. You must have the patient's of a saint with all the mistakes I'd made. Some of them were really silly mistakes.......I feel quite embarrassed looking at them now I know what I'm doing. I'm going to take another look at them today, with a bit of luck all the mistakes will be sorted soon.

Could you send me Alice's marriage you found please? I don't know how old she was when she married William so I don't know if it's the same Alice as the one I've got or another Alice I haven't put on my tree yet. The witnesses are definitely family members, so the Alice you found is definitely part of the family. If it's not the Alice I've already got then I'll have to find out where she fits in and of course her dad too, as the dad you mentioned isn't the same name as the dad I've got for the Alice on my tree.........all fun and games, I'm sure I'll get there in the end.
Thanks again Mel for all your help, you are a star <3 <3 <3

Morning all, morning Gill.

Drizzle today dull with it and just falling straight down. At least the wind has dropped.

Shopping day today. I did'nt get up till10.15am. I was awake earlier but dropped off again and I went to bed a bit earlier again last night.

Gill I did'nt send you the marriage as the fathers name was a William I think and it should have been Edmond. There is a tree on Ancestry that has her married to William George Teasel but they have no parents for Alice. They could'nt have seen the marriage or they would have had the wrong father on the tree.

Morning all, Evening Kim,

I got my vision back last night around 10.00 pm. But then got double vision, and still got it this morning. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy watching T.V.

I rang my Doctor this morning to see if they could dispense my drops. YES, bring it up and will will get them sorted, and you can collect tomorrow. Ros took it up when she went out with Carolyn. That will save her tramping around the hospital.

I feel as though I have been pulled through a hedge backwards this morning. I just can't get myself going. So it's the armchair for me today. The garden will have to wait.

Glad you are getting on with your tree Gill. Mel is a great help as in Ann when you get stuck on things, what would we do without them ?? <3 <3 <3

Horrible windy day here, no sign of the yellow stuff :-( :-( :-( Not been a good month so far and we are half way through it.

I'm not even going to shower today, will put clean joggers on and relax.

Ros is out for a meal this evening with the girls, so I will have the house to myself again,
