Poor frank not up to par today. I hope you feel better soon. Just chill out today and have a look at the back of you're eyelids.
Not getting on well myself this morning. I have to go to the bank so that means finding a parking space near the High St. and paying for parking. Then the shop and home and unpack the lot once again. I don't know you put it in the basket then you take it out then you put it back in again then you lug it to the car and take it out the basket again and put it in the boot. Then drive home and get it out the boot and indoors and then you have to lug it all out the bags again and put it away. I am tired just thinking about it. :-S :-( :-S :-( :-S :-(

It's sound a right job Mel, good job it's only once a week :-D :-D
Yes, I was a bit concerned about the father's name but the witnesses are family members so if I had a copy of the marriage record I could keep it until I find out which Alice it refers to. At the moment I only have one Alice on my tree but there are lots of gaps so there maybe another one to add in time and it could be the one you found marrying William George Teasel.
It sounds like you'd be better off going back to bed Frank. It's horrible when you get days like that. Hope you feel better soon <3
I've just washed my hair so I'm going to dry it now. I've been in the garden this morning moving all my pots around as the bluebells had finished. That's the great thing about having a pot garden you can changed the borders so they look good all year round. Even though it's a dull day, it's lovely and warm out there with no rain too. :-)

What a todo yesterday for you Frank all those drops ,i'm not surprised you needed four pints after all that and i bet they went down a treat .
These shopping days keep coming round Mel and your right about all this handling of the things we buy !!
So Mel has been busy helping to sort your tree then Gill, i'm now going to wash my hair this wind has left it looking like i've been pulled through a bush backwards :-0

Well I haven't moved far today. Kitchen, bathroom and lounge.
It's raining here now, Ros has just come home. She has been buying Harvey and Julia's Anniversary present. A Garden Light. with false candles that flicker. It will go in their garden or they can take it to their Caravan in France.
Thank goodness I don't have that trouble Mel. When Ros had that nasty car accident in Dec 2003. I had to do all the shopping, cooking washing and ironing as well as keeping the house tidy. That's all behind me now, I only go into Tesco's when I need a birthday card or anniversary card for Ros.
You wouldn't have wanted to be in the garden down here Gill. The wind would have blown you off your feet, and as you are TINY, could have blown you away.
<3 <3 <3
COT time now and a cream doughnut that she bought yesterday. Mmmmm'

Afternoon All,
Oh dear Frank, it doesn't sound pleasant at all with your vision like that. Taking it easy today sounds the best thing to do.
Lovely pics of Ruby Anne. She looks as if she has long eyelashes? She's growing up fast too.
The lamb turned out very tender after about 4-5 hours slow cooking. OH loves the crunchy roast potatoes I do so we had those instead of the jersey royals. There's enough lamb left for sandwiches or another meal so I'll decide later what we do with it. It might be nice in a stirfry tomorrow.
Mel, that's just the trouble with shopping isn't it!!! :-S :-( :-S I think Anne has the right idea getting them to deliver it, even if it means you can't be choosey like you can in the shop.
On Sunday near lunch time there was an accident in the lane the other side of our village between a car and a motorbike with a pillion passenger. We also read that the rear car passenger was dead. It happened on a fast part of the road that has a steep dip and there is a sharp bend. Two men were arrested at the scene and must have been in the car as the motorcyclist and his passenger are in hospital. Today's paper says they've done a post mortem on the dead woman passenger and her injuries are not consistent with a collision!!! They are still investigating the cause of the woman's death but are now treating it as a murder investigation!!!! How awful to think someone in a car driving in front of you on roads you drive on most days could have a body on the back seat!!! I wonder what happened and where they were taking her.
Well the bathroom tiles are still beckoning from yesterday so I'd better stir myself now!! :-| It's dull and raining here now.

How awful Ann, I wonder what happened to the woman? Your lamb sounds nice, I love lamb, it's my favourite :-)
So you've got the sun today Mandy, I was wondering where it was LOL :-D :-D It's been dry here and very warm considering how cloudy it is. I suppose the clouds are keeping the warmth in. The sun always makes you want to get on with outside jobs doesn't it? I had only intended on moving one plant this morning but there was a gap when I took it out and before I knew it I'd done a whole border while trying to fill in the gap. I also turned the 9ft tall red robin around, as the leaves on one side weren't getting any sun. I can't believe how much it's grown since last year considering it's in a pot. I was saying to OH I wish I'd bought another couple of them as they had been reduced from £145 to £50. I'm going to go back to the garden centre in October to see if they have any more reduced. That's when we went last year.
So I would of got blown away then Frank working in your garden. You're probably right as I'm only around 8 stone and just over 5 foot small LOL :-D :-D

Thanks for passing on Jane's emails Mandy........there were no pics though? I couldn't help but think she's trying to increase her collection of creams with the midge bites and then sunburn!! lol. :-)
Lamb is my favourite of the red meats Gill. OH made me smile this afternoon when he said this cooking milarkey takes up so much time doesn't it and really disrupts the day!! He's not wrong is he!! :-)
Well the bathroom tiles look good again as does the rest of the bathroom now. OH came and helped so I got him to do the bathroom cabinet mirrors among other things as it is he who puts the fingerprints on it. I'm hoping he'll use the knobs now!
It does seem strange today as I haven't been out at all which is unusual for me, yet I feel tired.

It's nice when the cleaning is done isn't it Ann. I remember running a bath the other week and when the steam from the hot water settled on the mirror of the bathroom cabinet, there was a little smilie face, apparently Sandra had done it but it didn't show until the steam went on it. It made me smile which is what Sandra wanted. It's all been cleaned away now, but I'll never forget it.
Your OH is right about the cooking it does take a while to do, the same with baking although I don't mind that. Sandra and I are watching Bake Off Crème de la Crème at the moment, she says it's a programme of posh food.......bless her
Thanks for passing on the emails Mandy, but there was no pictures :-S :-S Poor Jane, like you said Ann, she'll need more creams now. Hope her fingers are feeling a little better with no housework to do and she's having a great time away.

I did'nt have the pics either but it was nice to hear from Jane. Shame about the midgy bites though.
We have had rain all day here once again but no wind so not so bad. I did'nt get back till quite late today with going to the bank and up the High St to get some sunflower kernals and after walking up the steep hill they did'nt have any :-| :-| :-|
Oh had his dinner and took himself off to bed. Don't know what has tired him out so much as he has done anything all day.
We have a funeral to go to tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.

Morning all,
Dull and that fine rain that get everywhere.
Not a lot of time this morning as this funeral at 2pm but I just want to say to Gill that the occupation on the marriage cert was a Sawyer, some who works in a saw mill of the with the cutting of wood.

Good morning rain drops, Evening Kim,
What a morning to wake up to !! I got up at 6.30. looked out of the window, and dived back into bed until 9.00 am. Persistent rain here, and it could be here for the day. It's hardly got light here yet.
Likewise Mandy NO PICTURE of Jane on her Bus trip. But it sounds as though she is having a nice time. When is she home ??
I didn't realise you were that small Gill. So the saying is wrong "LITTLE AND GOOD" lol lol. Lewis use to draw on the windows, when they steamed up you could see them. He would also stick little notes on the fridge saying "I love nanny and pappy".
Not the best weather for a funeral Mel, I think you always remember them more when the weather is different, if you know what I mean. At Ros's Mums funeral it was snowing and remember the VICAR walking ahead of the hearse with his cape flowing in the wind. A sight never to be forgotten. My dads was torrential rain.
Dos took her machine in for a service yesterday. She was told that the shop is closing, which is a drag as it's so useful for all her bits and bobs. She bought quite a bit yesterday for future use.
The Rib of beef has been in the fridge all wrapped up, so I will warm that up in gravy and do new potato's and veg for tonight.
Madam has to go to the nurse this afternoon. She has to lay flat on her back for 40 minutes, having tests done. That won't be easy, as she hates laying on her back. She has to take a towel to roll up in the small of her back.
I have a basket of ironing to start on. I bet when I get the ironing board out someone will take over. Or do I leave it until she goes to the nurse this afternoon ??

Good morning all
No walk today as its raining hard and has been all morning but at least the garden is getting watered so I'm not sorry.
I was watching the birds on the feeder and saw a flash of bright red on a tail and realised it was a woodpecker, I've never seen one in the garden before but often get a glimpse of one in the trees that border the garden where you can sometimes hear them.
Just had a postcard from Colin he's leading a tour in Bologna but as it was posted on the 2nd he's probably back by now and could be somewhere else
Thank you for forwarding Jane's messages on Mandy but like the others the photos couldn't be seen.
I wish someone would do my ironing Frank, a job I'm not fond of. I hope Ros gets good results from the tests today and doesn't find laying on her back too uncomfortable.

Still raining. The gardens must be soaking it up, and any poor people who have to work in it. LOL LOL
I haven't seen a woodpecker in this garden and we have been here 20 years. We did have a regular visitor in Gayton, but there we were surrounded by fields. They are such beautiful birds. I only started ironing for Ros a few weeks ago. Her back and legs play her up from all the nerve damage from 4 major back operations, so as well as the cooking, I have offered to do the ironing. I often make the bed as well, it saves her bending over. We do try to work together with the choirs.
Mel, When I sent pictures of the front garden is the passed, you mentioned the name of the plant that's in the middle of the lawn, do you remember what it was called. ?? I think you said it was Chinese. The reason I ask is that it is in flower. About half way up between the thongs there are four big pods that have bright yellow flowers in them. I want to look it up on Google. I put that in about 15 years ago as a tiny plant. It is now standing over 10 foot tall. It has never flowered before, so am interested to know why, and can you take cuttings or seeds from it.
What size is your OH Mel. ?? I am fifteen and a half neck medium to large chest. I know Conrad is 16 inch and Harvey is 19 inch. I think 19 must be large, but there again he takes size 13 in boots and shoes, so could be classed as a "BIG BOY" mind you he has turned 50 years old now. It's starting to make me feel OLD lol lol.
Ros is catching up on her soaps that she missed last night, I don't seem to be able to miss them day or night !!!!
I am beginning to feel sorry for the neighbours if the weather is like this in St. Ives.

Just got back. We joined the ringers in the bell tower for the service and while it went on the lights went out in the tower so we just stayed in the dark and then when the next hymn was to be sung the organist came down as she had no power up there with the organ too. She played the last hymn on the piano and we sang the last hymn by the light from Ali mobile phone. I swearit was Norman up to his tricks again........

Afternoon All,
I seem to remember it was a Trachycarpus Fortunei Frank. Google it and see if it looks the same. They have a huge bunch of creamy yellow flowers. We used to have one in the conservatory till it got too big! I put it in the garden then but the garden isn't sheltered enough in winter and the winds shredded it's leaves.
I hope Ros managed the lying down ok. I always dread lying on my tummy. I'm not much taller than Gill, perhaps an inch! The other saying is that the best things come in small packages!!
Mel I didn't know collar sizes could be that big! OH wore a 15 when I first knew him but it's gone up to a 16 now. Your OH is much taller and bigger boned than my OH though, like you expect a fireman to be!
We drove by where that car and motor bike crash was today, easy to spot because of the flowers that were laid there. I hadn't realised it was a young 16 year old girl that was dead in the back of the car. No doubt we'll hear more about what happened in the future.
I think it may have stopped raining now for the first time today! :-)
