No sign of any yellow stuff here either Frank. Perhaps you should crash out on the settee with JJ and have 40 winks watching the back of your eyelids as Mandy would say.

I have taken a couple of pics this morning of my viola pots and oh's Clematis on the side of his filter shed.

The wrens babies are still in there and the Swollows have started to build a nest just obove the window frame inside. No we have to figure out what to put underneath as they make a lot of mess.

I see John Noakes has died aged 83. I used to like him and his dog Shep.

Afternoon All
Humid is the word today Frank .It really is and my face was so sweaty my specs were steaming up :-S

The BBQ sounded a great success yesterday. The garden sounds massive and having a stream at the bottom too.Lovely :-D. S hame you couldn't crash out last night like JJ did. He will probably sleep in the car all the way home later too :-D

I popped into M&S this morning .It was nice and quiet. I bought Chris a brightish mixed blue short sleeved shirt as an Anniversary pressie for tomorrow. We don't really do presents for our Anniversary but I thought he has been so good doing extra jobs since my hands have been bad he deserves a little something. Lunch out tomorrow
:-D

Mel, Newspaper is good to pop under the Swallows nest. Then you can just pick it up and replace with new :-D

I hope Gill is feeling better today.

Jane we have done that before when they were in the garage but this time is is right where oh will stand to clean out the filter thats in the corner.

How are your fingers today? Are the antibiotics working?

Been in the garden this morning just tinkering about. I shoved some Charlotte potatoes in a big pot. I found them in the bottom of the veg bag growing. If they produce anything it will be a bonus. 90 days for spuds to grow.

Must cover my strawberry plants as the fruits are starting to swell now. I fed them this morning too. Fed other things too and came in with blue fingers from Miracle Grow feed that has gone watery over the winter despite being indoors.

We saw that John Noakes had died on the news this morning. 83 was a good age. Loved him on Blue Peter.

Its brightened here now but it is so muggy. This is the first time I have had a vest top on this year instead of a long sleeved roll neck.

Hi all, They have been and gone. We had a real job getting the mower to fit in the boot, I had to remove the handle. JJ had another walk this afternoon. Carolyn brought back his bits she took yesterday, and straight away put his lead on and off they went for half hour. You are right he will sleep all the way to Devon now.

I am getting showered shortly and going to eat out to save me cooking. We will go to out little eatery, where Ros can have a Sunday Roast or a Steak. Likewise I can have a Sunday Roast or my Scampi. It will depend how we feel when we get there.

It looks like Jan will be coming to pick us up on the 10th June to go and stay with her for a couple of weeks. I must make sure I get the lawns cut the day before so they can last while I'm away.

Poor old John Noakes 83 doesn't seem old anymore. It looks like I have 4 years to go then. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) HAPPY TIMES.

Jane

Jane Report 29 May 2017 16:00

Well those Swallows haven't chosen the best place to make their nest then Mel :-S
I can't think what else to suggest.

The antibiotics are working well on that infected nail bed. Most of the redness has gone and it is no longer painful. But the skin on my fingertips is still peeling and quite sore.Saying that other bits on the inside of my thumbs and forefingers seem a lot better today. The thing is it can change from day to day.But I do feel there is an improvement. Still wearing my gloves most of the time.

I hope the journey back down to Devon will be a good one for the family Frank. James has just got home from Jess and said traffic wasn't too bad.

Chtris and I have sat and watched a few hours of TV. I think it was channel W (never heard of it before) but one programme was all about the lovely John Noakes then Kenneth Williams and another on Bob Monkhouse. I have to say we had a really good laugh. Not often that happens :-D. It is raining now.Thomas went to go out ,took one look out the back door and has come straight back in to bed.
Just watching the life of John Noakes made me realise what an incredible man he was.A real dare devil and would have a go at anything. It showed a clip of him in tears when he announced that Shep (the dog ) had died :-(

Thanks Anne for the new email address :-)

That Ladybird Ann looked like it had 2 eyes on its back !!!! Do you think Is it one of the illegal immigrant Ladybirds ?

Annx

Annx Report 29 May 2017 17:49

Sounds like your OH will need to stand there wearing a souwester and pacamac Mel. :-) Whatever you put on the floor he will tread in it anyway. Could you hang a wire hanging basket lined with newspaper under the nest. The paper could be much bigger than the basket to catch everything? Or hang a big plastic drainage tray you put under plant pots.

Frank I thought just the same when I saw on another thread they'd put 83 was a good age!! It would leave me just over 13 more years! We were both saying today that we consider 90+ to be a good age. That sounded a good BBQ and I would have been loading up on the salad rather than meat, but it sounds like there was something for everyone. The garden sounds fabulous and I always fancied the idea of a stream in the garden. There was one at the bottom of mum and dad's big garden where they lived when I was a teenager. Because of local flooding it had been dug out quite deep, so you either had to slither down the bank to it or if it rained it became a raging torrent. Sorry you had a bad night again. I bet you feel as worn out as JJ after the walks Caroline has been taking him! Good idea to eat out and save the bother of getting anything while you don't feel 100%. Your poor sister and SIL don't sound at all well but it was good they could meet up and spend some time together.

I'm glad your really bad finger is improving and not painful now Jane. I bet Chris will be quite chuffed to get his surprise shirt in appreciation!! :-) It was a good idea to get something he can wear. Yes I googled the ladybird last night and found it was one of those Harlequinn Ladybird invaders that are killing our own Ladybirds. :-S I hadn't realised they came in black as well as red!

Jane

Jane Report 29 May 2017 18:42

Maybe it will be a mop and bucket Mel LOL But Ann's idea is a good one.
It is absolutely chucking it down here now.Stair Rods :-S Thomas has used his tray. (again) . He is looking very peeved with the weather .I cant see him going out again tonight unless it stops raining very soon.
Ann I thought your Ladybird looked one of the suspicious ones.It was quite stunning though wasn't it.

No Gill so far today. Hope she still isn't feeling ill.

I hadn't realised that John Noakes was 83 . I still think of him as he was back in Blue Peter !!!. 83 is not 'old' really these days. When I look through the Obits in the local paper many are much older than that. Often well into their nineties.I always think it best not to think of our own age.I just keep telling my self I am still 21
:-D :-D I can only dream :-D

I meant to say the other day when Roger Moore died,He used to work for Chris's Uncle Arthur in Carpentry :-D

Evening all,

All my CHRISTMAS"S came at once this afternoon. I was just unlocking the front door to go out, when who should be standing there but my SON SIMON with his new wife. They were enjoying a few days on his Narrow boat, and moored just down the bottom of the road by the the lane to the village. His Wife Sally said. We are going to see your DAD whatever the reception. I just took him in my arms and hugged him, then his wife, and thanked her for bringing us back together. She said the passed is the passed and we must look to the future. To say the least I am over the moon.

We went to a new place for our meal tonight thanks to Martine who recommended it to us. We had the Carvery which was lovely. While at the carvery for the meat. The assistant asked if we had a dog. Ros said no, but I know someone who has (Martine) she gave us a big plastic bowl full of off cuts of meat. We stopped off at Martines and had a drink and a natter. We got home about half hour ago, full of happiness and beer, food and JOY. that's a day to remember.

I will send Sally a bouquet next week to thank her for bringing us together once again. It's their 2nd Wedding anniversary on the 15th July, a date I must not forget.

I am going to bed as a very happy man knowing I have a SON again.

Thinking of all you HAPPY PEOPLE WHO HAVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS.

God bless you all.

Frank i am so so pleased for you ,it's just like the long lost family programme ,i must admit to having a lump in my throat as i read your post .
I can see you won't be sleeping tonight you will have so much going on in your head.

Raining lightly here now after a dry day ,we have had a nice rest today ,we nipped to see son and family this morning ,poor son had a wisdom tooth out on friday and he had to have lots of stitches ,he has been in pain and is going to see if he can see the dentist tomorrow as he wondered if he has a dry socket like he had before when he had a tooth out ,if it is it means cutting the gum open and packing it out .

Hope poor Gill is feeling better .

Ann that Lady Bird is pretty ,they do look like eyes on the body don't they .

O Frank you lucky lucky boy to see your son and have a nice hug. I wish mine woukld turn up like that and give me a hug but I don't think that will ever happen. It brought a tear to my eye. That must be a very special girl he has found himself there and I hope they will be very happy together and you see more of him. I did'nt know your son had a narrowboat.

Going in the shower now as I feel all sticky after cooking this afternoon. I made 24 sauage rolls and 4 jam tarts.

Morning Everyone

Oh Frank, what a wonderful and very happy surprise you had yesterday. How long is it since you last saw Simon? Thank goodness he mairried Sally :-D. I get the impression that Simon could be very much like you :-D :-D. Just goes to show the best things can happen unexpectedly.
Never give up hope Mel <3

Ann the Garden you visited is beautiful. The White Wisteria!! Have never seen one like that , Those Peaches look just pefect to eat .Weren't you tempted ;-)
Did you say it was in Oakham?. Thats where James works.
Your photos are just so good.I wish I could do the same.

So today is 36 years of wedded bliss :-D.The big day started off cloudy but just as we came out of the Church the sun came out :-D :-D. Looks like it is the other way around today. It has been sunny but now looks like it could well be cloudy later.I hope that the Conservatory where we will be eating at the Falcon will be opened up ,otherwise I can see it being hot in there.I think I will pop my fan in my handbag :-D

Just enjoying my first cuppa. How did you sleep Frank ???? Bet you fell asleep with a big smile on your face :-D

Annx Report 30 May 2017 10:42

Morning All,

<3 <3HAPPY ANNIVERSARY <3 <3 to Jane and Chris. I hope Chris liked his present and that you have a lovely meal and that the conservatory will have lots of windows open. Good idea to take your fan.

Yes I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that standard white Wisteria, so pretty! They grew all their currant bushes and gooseberry bushes as standards too so there was no bending to pick the fruit. The garden was full of good ideas.

Oh Frank, I had a lump in my throat too when I read your post! :-) I'm so pleased for you as I know how much it would mean to you. I suspect his wife has realised he needed to see his dad too! As has been said Mel, never give up hope as you just never know what the future will bring and we do change our thoughts as time moves on.

I just got out of the shower in time before the window cleaner appeared! :-0 We just never know when to expect him any more. OH has had a dental checkup this morning and got the 'all clear' which pleased him. We are off out to lunch near the factory shop so I shall pop in there after to see what bargains they have. :-)

Morning my dear friends, Evening Kim,

I laid awake for a long time last night with so many memories, Still awake when Ros came in but didn't speak to her, just cuddled up thinking how lucky I am.

When we went to the NEW PUB yesterday, we managed to get through the door s the rain started. We were there for over an hour and the rain was like "STAIR RODS" Just as we were about to leave ,it stopped. So we were able to get into the car DRY.

I was going to walk down to the canal this morning to invite Simon and Sally back up this evening for a Roast dinner. But thought I might be pushing it a bit, so backed off.
I will let things get back to normal slowly, I'm sure SALLY will make the Family complete again. Just needs my daughter Sarah to find me, then I will be a very happy man.

Thanks girls for your very kind words.

Jane "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY" I am sorry I didn't say that first. but I know you understand. Give my regards to Chris, I hope you enjoy your lunch.

Ros is going to town with Carolyn, so I will have a quiet day reading and ironing. Then get dinner ready for tonight.

Have a great day all, I know I will

Morning all,

<3 <3 Happy Anniversary Jane and Chris <3 <3

Have a lovely day out and I hope its not tooo hot in The Falcon for your meal today.

We have grey skies and bright patches today so I shan't be upset about going shopping. Nothing much to miss.......

Ann the photos were superb again. They have wisteria like that where my dad's ashes were scattered. He loved wisteria. I took few pics of mine the other day but nothing like that one as I never touch our one in the top garden. I went up there yesterday to put the fence back up across the arch and it is now all covered in tree so thick you can't see the walls or the greenhouse.

Afternoon all

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JANE AND CHRIS <3 <3 <3 Hope you have a lovely day.

How wonderful Frank for your son to turn up like that, what a lovely surprise. It sounds like Sally is a very kind woman and so thoughtful. A real peace maker. Hope you all have many years of happiness together. <3 <3 I think you were right not going down to the boat, slowly slowly as they say.

Sorry to hear about your son Mandy, hope the antibiotics work quickly, there's noting worse than a sore mouth.

Love the photo Ann, you are so clever, mine never look as good as yours.

Thanks Mel for all your hard work yesterday, sorry I wasn't online to thank you straight away. I'm still feeling under the weather so might ring the doctors later if I don't improve. I couldn't see my doctor over the weekend with it being bank holiday and I was to ill to sit at the hospital out of hours surgery as you can be sitting waiting most of the day and I felt to sick.

I've just had a cool bath which seems to have helped a bit and now I'm going to take it easy and try not to move around to much. I think it might be an ear infection which is upsetting my balance, so I might need some antibiotics to clear it up.

<3 <3 <3Happy Aniversary <3 <3 <3. Jane & Chris, I hope you have a lovely meal out

I haven't been on here for a couple of days and I have seen to have missed a lot.

Firstly Frank how pleased I am for you to be reunited with Simon and to meet his new wife. The meal you had at the new place sounded ideal and to get a doggy bag as well.

That ladybird had unusual markings Ann, have you managed to find out if it was an "alien" from abroad.

Pleased to hear your fingers are at last showing improvement Jane after suffering for so long.

Hope you manage to get an appointment with the Doctor Gill and he/she can prescribe something to make you better.

I have a new window cleaner here at the moment they use the Reach & Wash system they are based in Horley Surrey it's quite a big family business. He is also cleaning the conservatory roof which badly needed doing.

Richard enjoyed his trip to Manchester, they had a separate venue for the Parkinsons fund raising event and made a quite a lot of money.

Abbie has left home again and is now staying with David the new boyfriend again and his family. She went back home after last time and then fell out with her mother again, this time according to Sue it's Paul and my fault as we are both liars, why I don't know. Paul says this happens every month just after he has paid her maintenance for the two of them apart from that he also buys them all their essential cothes and gives them their pocket money.

I hope your son's tooth soon heals Mandy I have never heard of that problem before
I have Ruby in her cage at the moment as she obviously wont be allowed out .

started feeling worse so the doctor is coming out to see me after 5pm as I'm to dizzy to get to the surgery. I feel bad calling the doctor out, but it's been 4 days now and I can't carry on like this, I don't think it's going to go on it's own and I feel rotten.

WHAT a dutiful husband I have been. I have ironed Two sheets four pillow cases, hankies, T shirts. I have just hung out a line full of Colours. Just hope the weather holds off till it is dry.

Dinner tonight is going to be Lamb Shanks and new potatoes and Veg.

After all this work I am going to relax with my book, until Madam reappears. Whenever that might be.

I expect Jane and Chris are tucking into their lunch NOW. ENJOY.

Thanks Mandy and Gill for your kind words xxxx
